Brand new state of the art volleyball facility. Always Covid clean by professional staff. AVA truly cares about the growth of the kids. This is one of the best places for your child to play club volleyball in the country. The owners and directors are there all the time should you have any questions.

Great club. Awesome setup for parents to watch from behind the glass or from the open balcony so no ones in the way. Its a great size too, maybe 6 or 8 courts. Coaches are attentive and encouraging.

The courts are nice and the score being on a TV where its easy to see is a good idea. The seating on the other hand isnt good. The railing is right in the line of vision and the bleachers are a strange design. There are only three rows, but the people in the middle and bottom have the feet of the people above them in their way.

I am appalled that this place can actually be called a volleyball academy. The only thing absolute about them is that they only absolutely care about the players that attend friendswood schools. If your player doesn’t go to friendswood, i highly recommend you go somewhere else. Your player will get little to no time on the court. The Absolute Volleyball Academy is a disgrace and should be ashamed of their organization.

Beautiful place, but good lord the seats are so hard and too deep I leave with constant aches and pains. One of the courts is directly in front of a stairwell there’s no good place to watch. Been here 3 times this season and it sucks more and more every time.

This organization is horrible and the coaching staff is not professional at all!!!! Also, the new practice gym you built is Great for practice but for tournaments...when is that gym going to be built?the seating is not parent or fan friendly. Poor leadership always starts at the top and works it’s way down.

My review is of the facility and not the organization. We played a tournament here this weekend and the seating is terrible. Id read other reviews where people said they had to sit/stand a court or 2 over and I thought they were exaggerating; unfortunately, it was not an over exaggeration. There isnt enough seating, and where the bleachers are placed isnt always close to the court your kid might be playing on. There was a lot of standing and sitting on the stairs which caused a lot of congestion and traffic. I hope we dont play here again.

Fantastic Club. The coaches are amazing, best group of coaches from top to bottom I’ve seen. This club cares about the families and players as if they were their own. They take AVAFamily seriously and I am proud to have my daughter play for them. Katy and Jerry have developed a great staff and training program. The new facility that opens this fall will be top notch. If you’re looking for a volleyball club, AVA has the best coaching, best development focused training program, and best facilities in the whole area.

VERY limited seating. Even with only 2 spectators allowed per player, there were people having to stand EVEYWHERE. I can’t imagine a normal time when siblings and grandparents can come...must be terrible. That is, where they will let you stand because you have people going around and telling you “you can’t stand there”. This is especially true for courts 37 and 38. Sorry but it is a true clusterf*$k. Nobody wants to stand for 3 or 4 hours to watch their kid play and even when you do, you may be two courts away because there is nowhere to sit or stand near your court. Very poorly designed. Let’s not forget parking...not nearly enough on tournament weekends. Other than the aforementioned, the facility itself is nice. Don’t know about coaching as we don’t play here. I truly hope we don’t play anymore tournaments here.

This review is for volleyball tournaments. Not enough sitting for parents. I had to sit two courts over to see my daughter. The courts on the edge are even worse. They need to put bleachers between courts.

This is not the place to send your player if you want quality coaching and a good learning environment. They are more concerned with paying for their new facility and recruiting new paying customers

Before we landed at AVA two years ago, we bounced around to a few different clubs trying to find the right fit. We can say, with certainty, that AVA offers training far and above what we experienced with other clubs in the south Houston area. My daughter felt at home within the first week, and we have felt the #avafamily mentality ever since. We highly recommend AVA!

We have been a part of the AVA family since my daughter was 11 years old. She is now in her 6th year with AVA and is still in love with the club. The owners, both Katy and Jerry, are great with both parents and players. They make sure their athletes have the best coaches, training and skills camps. So proud to be a part of a such a great program and family. #AVAfamilyKimberly SmithMia Smith #38

Very poor coach last season, she damaged many of the girls self esteem and we never won a set until the situation got so bad we as parents intervened. And at that upper management was completely unaware of how poorly our team was doing. They have a few teams that get excellent coaching but they seem more focused on presenting a great front and once in it rapidly deteriorated. Moved on to a different club this year and already a night and day difference

Unfortunately, there are very few coaches in any organization that are there to make teams better. There are always ulterior motives behind their being a coach. Most organizations do have at least a few coaches that do care enough to take time during practice to give their players the opportunity to get better. And AVA certainly has at least a few coaches that are SUPERB.With that said, I have never in my life seen a coach chastise or belittle players. Unfortunately, that is the situation that I am being presented with currently. There is a fine line between berating players, and trying to motivate or encourage them. The coach in question has gone way beyond what I thought would be acceptable motivation. My only advice would be to RESEARCH your specific coach, and past experiences that they have had.I should update this to say that it has finally become out of hand, to where a parent needs to finally get involved because Coach Lynn has basically belittled, shown significant favortism, discrimination, unfairness, AND inequality in judgment of specifically TWO players ... for what reasons?; I can only guess ... which I dare not do.Of course, I am not privileged to have all the information that a coach or the club has; it is however evident by watching about 30 minutes of an athlete play beside another to see differences in the performance/ability of each.Going to go ahead and downgrade the prior 2 star rating ... as it has become obvious that the organization is aware of the rather pious coaching of this specific individual and will not be addressing the issue ...In addition: When a coach adresses a players concerns with generalities in lieu of adressing specific issues ... Such as asking a player Are you doing your job? ... and they answer say Yes ... then the coach asks the very same lousy question again ... You begin to know they are full of themselves or avoiding the REAL ISSUE. If the many issues were HANDLED by saying ... You are having problems here ... and this is what you can do to better yourself in this area. That would be one thing [It is called Coaching] ... but to belittle and attack a players character and generalize about them is ludicrous and goes directly against the clubs mission statement stating they would teach individual players to develop them into the best possible athlete they can be. It goes against their program philosophy to establish positive relationships and respect between AVA, athletes and their families, coaches, administration and community. To sum it up ... It is PISS POOR COACHING.

Their passing camp that is featured in the month of May and June was a waste of money, the kids that are 12 year olds who know what their doing have to work with the younger kids, the coaches never give them instruction because the are jotting down there little notes, or always helping the others. Some of the time the coaches would be talking to each other instead of even helping the kids! In my opinion it would be better to get your child some private lessons or put them in a camp somewhere else. I waste of money, sorry to say but it is.
