They did what I asked for right on time and budget. Very quickly, and took good care of cleaning up. Highly recommend.

Rock Landscaping was utilized to design and install a concrete patio with a crushed rock border, and two sets of rock steps after we removed an older rotten deck. Rock Landscaping has a really good crew. Fernando is the best worker Ive seen in a long time! He is a dang artist with rock. . . He is a perfectionist and he never quits, or even takes a break! Hes happy the entire time, even when hes kneeling in the mud with it raining on him! We loved having the whole crew over. Chris was amazing on the equipment as well. They went above and beyond in helping us figure out what we needed, and the completed work, and extra effort will most certainly add value to our home. The rock work is absolutely beautiful! They all did an amazing and outstanding job for us!

I had an issue with a window well that started leaking water into it over the winter. I contacted Rock Landscaping and they came out within the week to check out my issue and proposed a solution to regraded the lawn, redo the window well/waterproof, and route the downspouts underground to a drain pool. Austin, the PM, was in contact with me and ensured everything happened on time and within the estimated quote. They were professional and communicated what was going to happen and timelines. They completed the work and ensured everything was in order before leaving. The yard looks amazing and you cant even tell construction occurred. I would recommend this team to get your job done.

Rock Landscaping removed an old fire pit and patio where we had a lot of frost heaving. They created a ditch filled with crushed rock and put in a decorative stone border. They also repaired the construction area with hydro seed.The Rock Landscaping crew & project manager, Austin were professional, easy to communicate with and performed the job in a timely manner. Chris explained everything as the project progressed, which was very reassuring.We are very happy with the results and would absolutely use this company in the future.

Russ and his crew did an outstanding job. The rock retaining walls are exactly what we wanted and the yard was re-contoured and landscaped for erosion control. Very good crew, fast and very courteous. We were lucky to have the work done at the beginning of summer. Overall one of the smoothest job we had had done. We had rock landscaping install two rock walls, a patio, stone steps, a fire pit, and hydroseed a new lawn. The work turned out fantastic! The crew was hardworking, always easy to talk to, and cleaned up every day! The project was large but they kept it moving to finish in a timely manner. I would recommend them to others!

I had a beautiful black chain link fence built, by this company. The gate latches are very heavy duty and expensive looking, however very hard to use. They built a covered dog run attached to the house which was unuseable when winter came. It twisted so badly the door popped open, the supports lifted and caused the sloped roof to run water back onto the house and siding. When I asked the owner to look at it this summer, he agreed I had a legitimate complaint. I heard him tell his worker on the phone that “from now on” they would build better and deeper supports when attached to the house. (Additionally, 2 builders have since stated the roof support beam should not have been a 4x4, but a 4x6.) The only fix the owner offered was to cut the outside supports to lower the roof so it would not run water against the house. I asked him to dig out the supports and use better support. His immediate response was to tell me to sue him and that he would win, because “he knew from experience.” One of the supports was dug out by a friend to see the cement support is less then 18” deep and looks rather like a snow cone. The cement beam support should have been shaped with a wider bottom and narrower top to help prevent the lifting. I’m saddened that someone I trusted to do a great job, has refused to fix this properly, even after I asked him to fix it at my expense.

Rock Landscaping removed and rebuilt our retaining wall, which is about 190 feet long. It had been damaged in the 2018 quake and had been crumbling since. The new wall looks much better and includes much better drainage. The crew was very professional and ran a very clean, organized worksite. They were not the cheapest bid we received, but I think the craftsmanship and quality of the work is worth the price. Russ (the owner) is a straightforward guy who still operates under old school rules and work ethic.

The whole experience with Russ was wonderful. He came out as scheduled and gave me an excellent bid. The work was done on time, on bid and was more beautiful than I expected. The work site was cleaned up every day. I couldn’t be happier.

Russ really knows what he is doing with his retaining walls and if anything ever goes wrong, he makes it right. I’ve used him on several big jobs over multiples of years and he’s been reliable every time. He has proven that he can do the large and complex jobs that strictly require true professional experience.

Russ and his crew were very professional and provided high quality work. My very large wall (170 ft. long and 21 ft. high in places) actually came out larger than they bid, but they completed the project for the original price quoted. The best compliment I can provide came in a text from a neighbor. He said my project was the topic of discussion in the neighborhood and all agreed it was beautiful.

Was looking to have a lawn installed, a large rock retaining wall put in, a rock drainage to the lake and a bunch of concrete work (fire pit, walkway and sidewalk) I used their website first and after a month of no reply I called. The owner answered and put me in touch with their estimator. Long story short the estimator never showed, waited around all day. Mistakes get made. They never offered or attempted to come out to check out the job after that.

We just used Rock Landscaping to replace a large concrete driveway and concrete front steps at our home. We now have a brand new concrete driveway and new wooden steps. Chris Russ of Rock Landscaping did a lot of the work himself and supervised the crew that assisted him. He and his men did an excellent job. I believe, in large part, that was because he is both a craftsman and a perfectionist. He really knows concrete. The work, and the care that Chris took to make sure it was done right, were worth every penny. Well done Chris.

I tried a few different landscaping contractors early in the season to have a full Lawn installed and have a fence built in my backyard, most of them either didn’t call me back after leaving multiple messages or never provided an estimate after coming out to my property. One did, Rock Landscaping, and let me tell you I’m glad they did. Russ came to my property personally and did the survey and promptly provided me with an estimate. He also explained in fine detail what he would do, what it would cost, and why it would cost that much. If you want attention to detail, Russ and Rock Landscaping are your lawn service contractors. His crew was always on time, very professional and always cleaned up after themselves. There was even an instance where one of his guys cut my satellite tv line, not only did he immediately inform me but he fixed it on the spot and re ran the cable and buried it properly, without question. 2 months later I have a beautiful green lawn and very well constructed fence around my entire back yard. If you want the work done right where they will not cut any corners and use quality equipment and materials, go with Rock Landscaping. Couldn’t be happier.

The crew they had at our house were very polite and professional. Would take the time every day to walk you around the project site and give you progress updates. We now have an awesome fence and a beautiful yard. I don’t think we could of found anyone better.

Rock Landscaping did an amazing job reconstructing our 3-tiered, rock walled garden. It looks incredible! They constructed a 200‘ 20 foot high natural rock retaining wall in my backyard. I live back up by the visitor center in Eagle River they were not inexpensive, however I feel the wall they built will outlast my house. And the wall is critical to keep the mountain off my backyard.

We had Rock Landscaping do some foundation repair and waterproofing. Russ, the owner of the company, met with us right away. It was clear he was experienced and dedicated to his work. He gave us a quote within 20 minutes and although it was higher than others, it’s been my experience, you get what you pay for. The crew was on time, professional, and courteous. The work site was left clean and neat at the end of each day and it only took three days as quoted. The owner kept me updated with photos throughout the entire project. When they were finished they graded the yard to shed surface water away from the foundation. It’s too late in the season for top soil and hydro seed so I’ll be hiring them again next season. I don’t get a chance to write many reviews but it was such a pleasant experience that I would recommend Rock Landscaping to anyone.

My experience with Rock Landscaping was great! I had met with two Contractors previously for an estimate and they never even called me back. I met with Rock Landscaping and he assured me He could help me with my earthquake damaged hill that my house sits on, as well as my driveway that was allowing water from the street to pool up against my foundation. The owner gave me updates on the progress of the job and didnt waste a minute getting in and saving my home from falling off the side of a forty foot hill! They Re-sloped my driveway so now my foundation is not taking on a ton of water too, The owner sensed the urgency in my Contractor needs and jumped right into action. They built a beautiful retaining wall, fire pit, path from our cabin to the lake (complete with steps on the steeper slope) and put a lawn in. It’s so hard to decide on a company for that projects! Thank goodness my sister was able to recommend Rock Landscaping! They had done some work for her company and she has a great experience. I had a 210‘8 foot tall natural rock retaining wall put in and it is fabulous! I found Russ the owner very easy to work with and what a polite and courteous crew. I plan on having them back next summer to do some leveling and put in my lawn!

While the two employees were polite and worked hard, the owner negated all of it with his attitude and demeanor.The owner gave very vague design plans and when pressed for details said, ”Don’t, worry, we’ll make you happy.” In our opinion he intentionally underbid the project. When the work was underway and the client was asked to make decisions on the project design the owner claimed they were “change orders” and increased the cost of the original quote.He walked off the job before it was finished leaving huge rocks and other materials scattered throughout the job site.If you want conflict, arrogance, expensive change orders and an argument when attempting to discuss the project, hire Rock Landscaping!

Russ and his crew were awesome to work with. They installed a beautiful natural rock wall, paver walkway, and firepit. They also water proofed my foundation with Bituthene, and blueboard insulation. There wasnt even a wrinkle in the Bituthene, it was perfect! Its a gorgeous rock wall and has changed the entire feel of my property. Thank you Rock landscaping for all your help on our playground!!! This company supported our non profit childcare center with the landscaping for our playground! Russ the owner donated material and labor to complete our project. They cleared out the playground area of all unwanted material and hauled it off. They supplied us with all the sand for our sand boxes. They leveled the whole playground area with the excavator and spread fill so the kids have a nice safe area to run around! We are so pleased and thankful. We would definitely use them again and recommend them!!
