The restaurant options are less desirable. I ordered two items and neither were great. The Caesar salad dressing had a strong fish taste and required me to cut the lettuce - it was almost like a build your own salad and not something to grab and go.The grocery options are superb and highly recommended tho.

The cashiers in this store continue to have ZERO customer service skills. Forgot my mask upon entering. I was of course told I had to have one, which is fine. She rudely then said I could buy one for $1.75, and no they do not have any to provide customers who may have forgotten theirs. So either leave or buy one. What does the management actually do at this store if basic customer service is so foreign to the staff. (Some of the people working on the floor seem fine, which I how I arrived at the one star. ). For an overpriced store one would think customer service would be a given. Not here. Do not recommend shopping here at all.

Rodmans is simultaneously old fashioned and modern in the best possible ways! It meets the many needs of an urban household with a gourmet twist. You can find everything from delicacies to a shower curtain!

The grocery store is small but downstairs has so many other good items. Its fun to go to Rodmans every now and then to do my shopping. Its especially good to buy presents there.

Rodmans is the place you go when you cant find an international food anywhere else. It wont replace specific ethnic stores, especially for Asian foods, but the huge variety makes it a fun place just to peruse and explore. Plus, if they dont carry something, you can just ask and theyll sometimes be able to get it through one of their many distributors.

The staff are very friendly. They loved my black I ❤️ DC shirt!! I went here for a class field trip and there is a wide variety of foods, ranging from wine to fruits and ice cream, as well as potato chips!! I had the apple, chocolate, ice cream, and potato chips, which satisfied my hunger and made my DC day trip awesome! I will return to this place when Im in NW DC again!

Local grocery. Excellent quality and service. Some items are a bit more pricey than average, others are equal or actually less expensive. Also, their Cafe just opened; was not impressed. Orded a mocha that tasted more like a latte, and even that was pretty mediocre.

Went here to buy frozen boerwors (supplied by local company Ayoba) and found an entire section of shelving dedicated to south african spices, biscuits, condiments, staples, etc. We were overjoyed at the selection and will be regulars not only for this, but to also revisit their great selection of beers and other international foods!

What a great grocery store/convenience store! It has produce, beer, wine, and then downstairs it has all the household essentials like fans, cleaning supplies, and what else you might need. Great local store and cost effective alternative to whole foods in the neighborhood.

It is a neighborhood gem. The store has a marvelous selection of foreign foods, wine, beer, cheeses, gourmet food, etc. The basement floor has a pharmacy and a watchmaker desk. It is beloved in the neighborhood. They have great sales on food and wine. Parking is for free after validation.

I just want to say that Im sorry about what happened to your store. We need more people like you, oldschool, and didnt blame the innocent people protesting nonviolently. A wonderful place to shop .

My wife and I have been supportive customers for over twenty years. There is no store in DC that cares more about the well being of its customers. Today I returned to inquire if I had inadvertently left a purchase I made yesterday at the counter. I had not kept the receipt. The average store would have said sorry there is nothing we can do for you. But not Mr. Rodman. He said “hold on, let me see what we can do.” He then made a full investigation and proved to me that I had indeed taken the item out of the store with me. No other merchant would have taken so much trouble. Thanks Mr. Rodman

A Washington classic. Great wine values and hundreds of gourmet food items

Rodmans is a family-owned store in Friendship Heights that opened in 1955. At first glance, its a grocery store with healthy aisles filled with every product from produce to meats to a superb wine section. However, dont forget to take the escalator to the basement level to find a mini-Target full of soaps, towels, and other household goods. The staff are friendly and always happy to recommend a hidden gem.

They have good Georgian wines, kefir and tvorog. And rye breads and other unique quality stuff.

Holy toledo, I walk inside expecting the equivalent of a gas station convenience store and am greeted by preserved watermelon wedges and chocolate from Leon, Nicaragua. The place reeks of gourmet and class while retaining a non-elitist charm. Good service, samples, and a surprisingly large inventory on two floors. Id call it little Wegmans but Id be fearful of offending the owner.

Its a very good ol skool drugstore, convenient for lil thing you need..people nice & prices reasonable..

Love joking around and talking with her. Norman gives me excellent advice on my wine selections and always has a little candy treat for my son. Cashiers are always friendly as well. Love this store.

Very strong on the fresh produce, beer and wine, and imported goods. Good selection of imported cheeses. All prices pretty darn reasonable for NW Washington. Only complaint is the dairy/meat section is very tiny and smells bad all the time. Wish they would sublease some space to a decent butcher rather than a single display case of chicken and ground turkey. Other than that love the convenience and the neighborhood feel...staff is super helpful and kind.

This small store packs a variety inside. Produce, meat and staples many ethnic choices and culinary treats. Some items may be pricey. Even some deli to go items( including vegan. Good size parking lot in back.

I was only in town for a few days so I was able to pick up a few food items that I needed. They do have a nice craft beer selection. Make sure to take your own bags or you have to buy shopping bags for 5 cents each!!

I love the easy access to this local shop that carries wines/beer, basic & specialty foodstuffs, household items, gifts, and so many useful sundries- not to mention the pharmacy & watch repair services, plus medical equipment and great luggage/ travel section. Many seasonal items. Office supplies, make-up, kids toys, kitchen appliances, bathroom accessories, auto supplies, bedroom and closet organization. Great to browse and find things that delight without walking a mile in a box store. Produce and cheeses are good, cookies & cracker selection extensive, specialty candies for gifts including boxes of fruit-shaped marzipan which I love. Always something to please!Beware the limit on parking in the rear lot - I paid $9.00 when I was told I exceeded the hour and 15 minute limit! Street parking in front on Wisconsin Ave.

What can you say about Rodmans? Amazing collection of wine, beer, and international foods. Add in great selection of coffee and tea, fresh vegetables, cheeses, cured meats, holiday selections and you have a cant miss place. Downstairs they have kitchenware, a full service pharmacy, cleaning supplies, cards, luggage and an excellent watch service counter with great prices. You simply cannot stay away.

Best place to buy almost all international grocery. It is great, and the employees are the best. 6 stars

Nolan, the store manager, has been extremely rude to me in our interactions lately. I have known the guy for around two years, but he has extended increasing coldness to my questions about getting things restocked. I shop at Rodmans for a few specialty items in their international and spirits section, and Nolan has begun to be plain-out rude to me in our interactions. I will leave out details of our conversations to not identify myself, but Ive been disappointed with how Nolan treats his patrons during this pandemic.

Rodmans is an honorable DC institution. I am heartbroken that the Spring 2020 rioters might have violated it. Surely only the 1% taking advantage of a truly horrible situation with really bad inexcusable behavior.Rodmans carries foods from all over the world and hires people of all nationalities to serve you while you are there. They have always been there for the DC metropolitan community and I hope they continue to be for a long time to come.

Tons of interesting and delicious finds. Very fairly priced, including alcohol. Theres a downstairs and a parking lot in the back, which they validate.

This store is terrific. It occupies 2 floors in a busy neighborhood. Groceries and wine are on the lower level. The selections are enormous, including food products, like special mushrooms, that you dont see anywhere else. Plenty of parking, but be sure to get your parking ticket validated.

Had to walk all over the store to find what I was looking for due to the a language. I heard a lady having the same problem. Nevertheless pretty good selection but the prices are extremely inflated.

One of those drugstores where you can find items that the chains dont/wont carry. They also have grocery items, household items, medical equipment/supplies, small appliances and the list goes on. Its one of those places you hope never goes out of business.
