THIS IS THE WORST HOP ON HOP OFF EXPERIENCE EVER, NEVER AGAIN! When we purchased the tickets outside the museums the sales-man explained the buses were recurrent every 20 min which is NOT the case, we waited for one of the buses over 30 minutes, the yellow line is a joke! The guided night tours are a joke as well, everyone we encountered that works for the company is extremely rude and did not make an effort to compensate for the bad service. We had TWO buses break down on us in two different days, how is someone able to visit a city and actually see everything thats worth seeing if every time you get on the bus it breaks down?Again, WORST $170 EVER SPENT.UPDATE: OUR DRIVER GOT LOST, tried to drive back to the correct stop and went by some really short bridges TWICE one with no warning and the second time he beeped to let us know we might get our heads chopped off

I wish that I could remember the name of the gentleman who was the guide on our tour bus. He had more knowledge about DC and its history than anybody could possibly know. He was so much fun to have shepherd us through the tour of the great city of Washington, DC. The bus was great my family enjoyed it more than they thought they would. I highly recommend the tour. I have never been more appalled in my entire life when it comes to tour guides and the treatment we had to endure from tourguide JOHN. John was our 2nd tour guide of the day. The first tour guide was pleasant, the bus was on time, and we had a wonderful time. We got off at our stop (which they didnt drop us off in the front, we had to walk two blocks), and had a nice time at the attraction. We had to walk back to the City Sights stop (meanwhile Big Bus DC bus stop was right in front of the attraction); and wait for 45 minutes for John and City Sights to pull up. On a 95 degree day, we thought we would have to wait the promised 20 minutes; but as we saw the other tour bus (Big Bus go by 3 times, we still were waiting on John). John then started to state MULTIPLE INCORRECT facts about DC. Including slamming and being very political about Muriel Bowser (the mayor) talking about her neglecting her children (which she doesnt even have). Then he started explaining about the African American museum and the how the shape is after Queen Nefertiti-we googled that information and it was completely false. Because we were running SUPER late, because John mis-managed his time regarding being on time for the tour; my friend asked how much longer until we get back. John YELLED AT HER ON THE MICROPHONE in front of the whole bus and completely embarrassed her. He told her to shut up and sit down and went on and on bashing her and our entire group. Then he said that she was ratchet and ghetto. After we got off the bus, he started yelling at everyone from the top of the bus (hence the photos). He might have been having a mental breakdown right before our eyes; Ive never been more embarrassed and upset on a tour bus in my life. Ive been to Greece, Barcelona, and some of the most beautiful places in this world. And John left the WORST taste of DC in my mind. DO NOT USE THIS TOUR COMPANY. Everyone on every other tour bus that was going by looked way happier than everyone on our sad bus. Thanks a lot John. Dispicable behavior.

Our Senior High Students had their Senior Trip cancelled due to DC Mayor shutting down DC during Covid 19 April 2020. No one was allowed to travel to DC. I called CitySights customer service numerous times and was refused refund. I was told that Management could only be reached by email. I also emailed. Management never responded to my emails. When I called DC OAG, they told me that businesses where told to honor refunds especially during quarantine. However, CitySights never responded to numerous attempts of DC Office of Attorney General seeking to help our students in this matter. CitySights owes our students $1,150.00. If CitySights refuses to refund us, or even speak to us or DC OAG, they would do the same to you.

Terrible customer service. Took forever to exchange our vouchers for tickets (which were two feet long recycled Macys receipts instead of actual tickets)- plus they never even asked to see our tickets each time we hopped on the bus! Apparently anyone can just hop on??Once on the bus, the speakers didnt work on the entire right side of the bus, so we couldnt hear anything the tour guide was saying. He pointed out the stops, but no one knew when they could get off at each stop as the bus usually kept on driving. The route changes based on construction and bus routes in the city, but unless you ride the whole thing, you dont know which stops are available that day since they dont update their maps or cross off the ones that are unavailable that day. They overbooked the night tour by over 50 people and informed us we had more nights to do it and to come back. It was the only night we had available to do the night tour we paid for, so we were lucky to be one of the last few who got a seat on the last bus. There was no guide for the night tour, so we had to listen to the recorded tour and it was very uninformative. Tour was supposed to start at 6:30 pm but we didnt leave until almost 8.Big bus tours had several busses and seemed much more organized for their tours... If I do this again I would choose big bus.

Tickets were printed wrong so we had trouble accessing one site. They didnt explain how to use the tickets we received at the kiosk vs the passes we had printed at home. The site depends on Big Bus which has there own issues but CitySights is garbage. If you want to tour DC, most say Old Town Trolley is the best. Look there first.

We had to go to union station to get vouchers printed before we could proceed on the tour. The buses do NOT come every 20 minutes. The third (and last) bus we boarded #71448 was the worst travel experience ever! No guide, the ear phones were not in sync with the sights and no stops were announced. When we came downstairs on the bus, the driver shouted at us NOT A STOP, NOT A STOP. Buses took forever, or did not come at all. Each time we spoke to someone and were given an ETA, the bus took at least twice as long as what we were told. Was not told that (daytime) buses stop running at 5:00 on a 48 hour bus pass. So was left stranded at bus stop and had to take a Lyft to get back. The only redeeming part of the whole thing was the tour guide, April, who seriously just needs to have her own tour, as she is far too good to have her talents wasted working for such a joke of a company.

Never an answer if the call even connected which it did not several times. Even if a bus would show, it would take all day to get back to Union Station. There was a bike race Sunday which had just about all of DC blocked off so the bus could not go anywhere but circles. The bus management had no clue where to go and the race was scheduled for months. While they gave us credit for the day, we were still stuck with the parking fee at Union Station for nothing. If no star were a rating, they would get it. The employees were fine.

My parents came into town for Mothers Day, so we booked a special Mothers Day river cruise through City Sights. For the four of us the total came to $270. The cruise was through the Spirit of Washington and City Sights was the booking agent. We booked several months in advance, and on the day of the cruise we presented the City Sights voucher, which said in large letters present this voucher to receive your boarding passes. When we got to the ticket counter, we were informed that the voucher was not valid to board the boat and that apparently we were supposed to call City Sights to get our tickets. NO WHERE, on the voucher or in the email confirmation, was there anything about having to call City Sights to get tickets. We were turned away as the tour was sold out, despite our paying for the tickets. Not only did City Sights steal $270 from us, they ruined Mothers Day and our entire weekend. Since then, we have called and emailed City Sights to attempt to get a refund, and have received no communication back. This is one of the shadiest, worst-run companies I have ever come across. There are dozens of tour providers in DC- please choose any one but this one.

HUGE waste of money, I wish I had seen the reviews before I made the purchase. When we were on our way to Arlington, we stopped at the Pentagon Mall and were told we would be sitting there for 30 minutes because a bus had just left. This company is a joke. My dad bought three passes for him, my mom and myself to tour the city while they were visiting, paid almost $150 for the three of us. We only got to see three sights, the two times we were picked up from the locations the bus dropped us off at, were late. The first one, 45 minutes, the second one 1 hour 15 minutes. We actually had to take a cab back to Union Station. When my dad talked to the manager, Andre, he basically called the three of us liars and said the bus picks everyone up every 15 minutes and told him to call the number to get our many back. I called the number on my dads behalf and the number was in Miami or something and I got an answering service. Bottom line, dont waste your money. Horrible - less than one star. Buses were so infrequent and stops not announced so you never knew where you were going to or how to get there. Many stops that are labeled on their map were no where near the actual sight so you have to walk in an unfamiliar city to get where you are going. My two day pass (for which I paid full price) was useless on Memorial Day Weekend during which their already low number of buses would be even fewer. I was not told this when I bought my tickets and basically could not use the pass for the second day. At one point, we were en route to the zoo and were told that the bus does not stop at the zoo but many blocks away. Tour guide was asked to let us know when that stop occurred and did not, so instead they dropped us off and told us to walk back to the zoo which was a mile away at that point. Just a few examples of the companys deception. The other bus company seemed to have four buses for every one from this company. I will never use this company again and will be returning to D.C. soon. If it could give ZERO stars I would. This was hands down the absolute worst experience I have ever had on a tour. My mother, brother, sister and myself were looking to take a night time tour of DC on Friday, October 6, 2017. Within 5 minutes of getting onto our bus (15 minutes behind schedule) we knew something wasn’t right with our “tour guide”, Jeremiah. He appeared to be under the influence of some substance or another. His words were slurred. He was mixing up left and right and north and south. He told us the statue of Lady Freedom weight 15 pounds -- right?! He was making up and misspeaking continuously. As would be customary guests were talking quietly among themselves with their travel companions. Jeremiah scolded the bus for speaking and told us we needed to be silent. He then proceeded to call us “asses”. He came to the middle/back part of the bus and got in the face of the woman sitting across the isle from me. At this point 50-75% for the bus got on our cell phones to call and complain and ask for our money back. We were stuck in a threatening and unsafe place until the buses first tour stop (FDR Memorial) about 15 minutes into the tour. The bus emptied when we got to the FDR Memorial and next to no one reboarded the bus. We walked back to Union Station all the way from the FDR monument. The next day we went back to Union Station asking for a refund. My sister paid $90 for two people via credit card and I paid $90 for two people via cash. I was told that we could not receive refunds at the Union Station location. This, of course, make no sense, because if you can process purchases with a credit card machine you can also process refunds. I know this for a fact as my husband owns his own business and we own a credit card machine. I spoke to the “manager” on duty, Derrin. From the Union Station location I called the vice president of the company, Jim Murphy, in New York City asking for a refund. I was promised a return call that day and have heard nothing. It has been two days, we are out $180 and have nothing but memories of threats and intimidation and broken promises left from this garbage tour company. Please share and help put this company out of business! Funny, my exact same review isn’t posted on the company website!

This bus is horrible!!!! we had to wait at the stop for the bus for like 55 minutes to and hour and a half! our tour guide was not focused and some things she talked about werent even there! some of the things she talked about werent even true! there were few to no seats available on the roof and very few seats in the bottom. it was so bad that many of the other people sitting on the bus werent even listening. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS SERVICE AT ALL!!!! i shouldve taken big bus tours instead

This was absolutely a horrible experience! Took my 11 Girl Scouts to DC. The bus was 55 min late every time while the other buses had several stopping at the drop off and pick up locations! When I called the office we were told 15 min which turned Into 55 min. The driver and another employee were yelling at each other in a fight! A lady tour guide was down right rude...Several bus drivers complain about the company. We missed the Archieves due to them being so late.. mind you we paid for a tour that they would not allow me to reset! Will never use them again! I gave 1 star because 0 was not a option!

DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY. Also bring cash cause the chip readers dont always work. If I could give this 0 stars, I would. The speaker system on my tour bus did not work, and I was essentially riding a bus and not receiving any knowledge or information. I could have done that on a damn city bus and not had to pay $100 for it. Driver was apologetic but showed us no refunds for any service on the ticket. They wouldnt even give us tickets for a different tour on a different day! Terrible, terrible service.

So... this is a historically inaccurate tour so dont believe what you hear and more importantly do not share what you hear until you fact check it.This is more of a comedy tour then a historical learn something tour. Our tour guide, Jeremiah, was very fun but for all the wrong reasons. Oh and he excepts gratuities or tips if you have a heart. Anyhow he throws out a bunch of facts that you can barely understand and unfortunately there are false claims in there. The most outrageous claim was that the historical photo of the flag raising at Iwo Jima was not actually a flag raising but just a pole. Completely untrue as backed by photo evidence and historical documentation. Not to mention the flag that was used is in the Marine Corps. Museum. Again this is just an example. There are many more but this one is the easiest to explain. I would not recommend this tour, pay a little more and go with the other guys.

I didnt want to give one star but there was nothing less. This was the most messed up bus tour we have ever taken. They didnt have a driver and made us wait almost an hour in the heat. Finally someone came up to the top level of the bus and said they had to fire the driver and they were looking for another one. Everybody just looked at each other like, what the heck is going on here. What they said would be 15 min., turned into about 45. It was about 100 degrees and the humidity was unreal. We were dropped off once, on the Hop on and off bus, when we were ready to leave we went to the bus stop and waiting over an hour. The bus never showed up. We were once again standing in the HOT SUN AND HUMIDITY and rain, waiting for a bus that never showed . We had to walk blocks with a family of 9. We had kids and some were over 70 years old. This was a HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE. I would not recommend this bus line.

Found a great deal on Groupon for a 3hr DC night tour. Experience started out poorly when us and others had to wait in line at an unattended kiosk for 10 minutes. The line for the bus was long but so were other companies. One bus was filled up fast and left late. Our bus left about 30min later then scheduled. Wasnt sure how the tour was going to go after that but it was amazing! Our guide Derrick was so friendly, knowledgeable and really personable. The driver Finny seemed really experienced. We saw so much more than we would have doing our own tour and learned a lot more too. I would totally go on another tour again

Purchased through Groupon for a fair price ($18). Unfortunately, the experience was terrible. First, I waited in line for 30 minutes to exchange the voucher for a ticket. Then I waited outside for an hour to board the bus, which was to depart Union Station at 630PM. Didnt even get on the bus until 730PM. Once on the bus, we just sat there. Finally, we started questioning the employees, and they blamed it on Groupon. They werent prepared and didnt have the staff to support the tour. We finally left Union Station at 750PM, but there was no tour guide to narrate. It was a beautiful night, to bad this company provided such bad service.

If I could leave 0 stars, I would. If you dont want to read my entire review, know this. They tell you that buses come every 20 minutes. Its a lie. I spoke with someone at their office and its every 45 minutes. What a joke. Please do yourself a favor, and pick any other touring company than this one. We bought the 24 hour pass on the basis that buses came every 20 minutes. The first stop we got off at was the Thomas Jefferson memorial, walked around for 10 minutes, then went back to the bus spot. We waited for 30 more minutes and called the number on their map. The operator told me I was misinformed, the buses only come every 45 minutes. I asked the group of other angry customers that were waiting what they were told, everyone said 20 minutes. Finally a bus arrives (we were at the stop for almost an hour), the bus was packed, but we still managed to find two seats. The tour guide was in training but she was a total MESS. She had no clue where we were. She kept falling all over the place. The only time she spoke to the group was to yell WHO WANTS TO GET OFF? I would have jumped off the bus to get away from this nightmare, but I would of had to wait an hour for someone to come get me. At this point, we went into survivor mode. GET US BACK TO UNION STATION. The audio that was playing, was hard to hear, and VERY limited. For example The trees you are seeing are Japanese Cherry Blossoms. Then music would play. IT WAS NOT WORTH THE MONEY. I only had 1 day to see all the sights in DC. This tour company RUINED MY ENTIRE TRIP.

We have traveled widely and we often use hop-on-hop-off bus companies for a quick overview. This company was the biggest mistake we made on our trip to Washington DC last week. Their website offered $15 discount for online booking of the 48hr ticket; when we were directed to the payment page, the discount had vanished and we had to pay the full price. Then after waiting 40 minutes for our first bus on Constitution Ave, and watched multiple buses of other companies go by, we gave up and took an Uber to Union Station to catch it there. There was a bus there which was leaving in 6 minutes and the next bus was in an hour; we were told to go to the kiosk inside the station to get our paper tickets, and since we were the only ones waiting to get on at Union Station, we personally asked the bus to wait for us and they said they would. When we ran to the kiosk, the lady there said those people should have printed this out for you. When we came back with the paper tickets after 4 minutes the bus had left, and so we had to wait another hour, watching countless buses of other companies go by. The next day, we waited at the Lincoln Memorial for the purple-line bus toward Arlington cemetery; we were told by the kiosk agent it will come in 8minutes; we waited 40minutes again watching other company buses. We wasted so much of our traveling time because of this company. We have never had to wait for hop-on-hop-off buses like this before in multiple countries. Please pick another company, Please.

Our tour guide Tamra was incredible. Very knowledgeable. I would suggest she slow down and give advance notice of sites coming up. Hard to take pictures as the site is flying by.We were told to be at the Lincoln Memorial at 4:30 for the blue/purple line. We waited for 30 minutes and took a taxi back to our hotel near Arlington Cemetery. It cost us $20 additional for a tour we paid $35 each and were only able to use 1/2 of.While waiting, a number of the red Bug D buses came by as well as the trolley type buses.

First - there are so many better companies to take a tour from (Ive done similar tours on other companies). If you plan on going on one of these in the summer - they arent air conditioned - just be warned that its best to sit outside (which is probably the real intent). Bring a hat and sunscreen, and something to drink.Making it absolutely unbearable - the bus company that you PAY to get a tour from, they find it more important to plaster an advertisement for Ecuador on the side of the bus (including over the windows) so that you cant see anything from inside. Worse yet - the windows dont open, either.Id also aim at making the point that the tour itself was poor, with out of date facts, but I expected that when I started the tour.Take a walking tour. Or just get on the Circulator bus. Youll be better off.

On Sunday, December 27th,2015 at 2:30 we experienced the worst day of our lives. We went on a Double Decker bus with a crazy driver. We were on George Washington Parkway when we stopped in front of a bridge that was too low to the ground for us to go under. The drivers assistant goes out into the traffic to try and stop it. This try was pointless. The passengers ran for their lives. I called to the company and they did not pick up so I left a message. Then I called 911 Later at Pentagon City the bus driver tried to get the passengers off the bus. He said that this was his last stop when really Arlington Cemetery was. This was obvious when looked at the tour map. We finally convinced him to finish his route. The driver must have been really mad because he was not sticking to his lane and was going passed the speed limit. Another thing to mention was how the bus was in terrible condition. The plastic cover was all scratched up. The front of the plastic cover was flying up and down, this let trash fly into the bus. The earphone also did not work. I do not recommend the company because they do not care about who they hire to drive their buses and they do not maintain their buses.

I initially rate City Sights 1 star. My experience started off a nightmare! I get to the Pentagon Fashion Mall and purchased my ticket @ 12:15p.m. Gentleman who I purchased ticket from was a sweet elderly man who told me bus should be here approx. 15 min....45 min. later the bus shows and as I tried to get on the bus, the driver said I couldnt get on due to he going to take a lunch. Next bus will be by @ 2p.m. I waited at Mall and same bus driver shows back up @ 2p.m. sharp. I didnt even get in my seat and he took off like a bat outta Hell!!! Fell into my seat!!! Since I already waited almost 2 hrs to start my tour, I didnt get to hop off @Arlington Cemetery and he flew past the Pentagon!! He damaged the bus door @ Arlington and once we arrived @ Lincoln Memorial at approx. 2:30, there were more irate customers that also had been waiting on him for over 2 hours. He was a young black man with thick black-rimmed glasses that just got off from vacation. We were all asking for our money back, and I told him I called company while waiting on hon to show up due to he causing me to miss the remainder of my tour (blue and yellow loop)!!!! He stated he couldnt call anyone. When I called, I got an actual person after the third attempt, but she put me on hold after I told her what happened and never came back on the line!!! We called this p.o.s. company at 5pm and they said the buses were done running. So there we were stranded. Seriously, do NOT give them your money.

I was extremely disappointed in this tour. Ive never had a worse travel experience in the United States. Here are some specifics that made it not worth the $49/person we paid for this tour.First, the tour narrative is recorded and references buildings that are under construction when theyve been completed and open for years... so its outdated.. Second, the tour guide didnt play the right recording at the right time for many of the monuments, like the Holocaust Museum or the Wharf... In fact, Im pretty sure many of the recordings for important landmarks didnt even get played. The thing Im most frustrated about is that we paid $100 cash for two tickets and we were given a receipt saying we paid $49 for one ticket. When I asked the driver to print another receipt (so that I could be sure my wife and I would both be allowed to get on other City Sight buses), the driver told us that she didnt have the ability to print another receipt. She also didnt give us our change. To make matters worse, tours stop so early in the day, we only got to ride once...so, it was basically a very expensive bus ride.I will never do a City Sights tour in any city ever again because of this. I feel completely ripped off. .

Do not use this company, we had an awful experience. To start we ordered online so we wouldnt have to go to union station to pick them up and found out that it wasnt infact an eticket that you could get on anywhere, but had to go to union station anyway to get an official ticket. Once we got on the main line had a narrator, but if you wanted to go on any of the other lines they did not and there was no one to stop the bus to let you get on and off! We saw the big bus company and the old trolley companies always having someone on board narrating and always stopping at each stop.Once off the bus to look at a site if you want to get back on anywhere else you good luck finding the stop! There are no signs whatsoever for the stops...unlike the other companies. If you manage to find a stop to get back on, the time we have to wait for another bus to come was also excessively long unlike the other companies which regularly went by with manned stations to help you on and off and this wasnt even in peak summer time! The buses did not stop at any of the attractions to give you time to take pictures, but were instead too eager to get to the next stop as obviously they did not have enough buses running to stop people from waiting.i would recommend using old town trolleys. We used one in Boston and had a great experience. The driver narrates as you go and stops at every stop which have clear location points.

They tell you there is a bus at each stop every twenty minutes when in reality i have been waiting at a stop for 40 minutes before I decided to call the the company to see what is going on I was transferred twice for.no reason then I was informed the bus was going to arrive in 20 min apperantly there was an issue with traffic. After 20 min I called again finding out that a bus will arrive in 30 min. While I was waiting with my family to get on a bus back to union station to get home, there were plenty buses from the big bus company and old town trolley tours constantly stopping at this stop which take the same path and somehow dont have a traffic issue. Very unreliable especially when you just want to spend the day visiting the capital of the United States.

We spent a couple days in DC and wanted to do a bus tour to get the lay of the land. We bought a 24 hour pass for two adults which was $80 for the two of us. Our kids age 3 and 5 were free. After buying the passes I read the reviews and was a little concerned because of all the bad reviews. The first day it was raining so we were sitting inside which frankly wasnt great. The tour guide was great but you cant see out of the Windows because the bus has ads on the outside. We came back the next day and sat upstairs which is the way to go. We were fortunate to have James the tour guide on both our trips. James is a gifted public speaker who is very entertaining and very knowledgable about the history of the city. We got off at the White House and walked around for a few hours. We jumped back on the bus where we got off and spent the remainder of the day finishing out the tour. If you can sit upstairs this tour is the way to go because its cheaper than the other tours. Do not sit downstairs. And its a great way to get around the city. Note: the second day was on a Saturday which worked well because theres far less traffic and buses run every 30 minutes. During the week it might not be as good since the traffic is awful and buses only run every hour. Also Id recommend to the company to improve the microphone and audio system; a couple times it wasnt working and James had to speak loudly which was ok but might not be good if youre hard of hearing. We did not go on the yellow line or the purple lines.

I dont even want to give this 1 star. Do not use this service! Unprofessional from start to finish. Tour guide gave inaccurate historical information -quite frankly he just made stuff up. Was more interested in pointing out the chain restaurants in Chinatown than giving any historical information. When he did point out buildings the stuff he said was flat out ridiculous, e.g., passing by the Holicaust Museum he said we could go in and see pictures of Hitler doing his thing during the Holocaust War. Alexander Hamilton? Apparently he was Secretary of State. The list of glaring errors and omissions goes on and on.The bus was NOT handicapped accessible although the website said it was. With only three buses in operation there were ridiculously long wait times at each of the stops. No windows to see through on the bottom tier of the bus forced everyone onto the top of the bus. BUYER BEWARE!! Dont make the same mistake we did. Horrible experience. We ended up having to walk everywhere because, the buses were never on time. I did confirm bus stop locations with the dispatcher. We wasted valuable time standing at bus stops, for buses that NEVER arrived. The only successful ride we had was TO Arlington Cemetery, for the return trip the bus NEVER stopped, just drove straight thru. After calling the dispatcher for an explanation the bus arrived, close to an hour later!! We tried again the next day, we waited where we were instructed and the bus opened its door while in traffic, at a red light. We ran over to jump in along with the others who had just hopped on, and the doors shut before we could get on because, the light had turned green. They NEVER stopped at a bus stop, only in traffic for the time of a red light. Good luck if youve got little ones or an elder. I can say that Old Town Trolley and Big Bus run like clockwork and they are everywhere, which is more than I can say for City Sights. Best of luck and remember, you work too hard for your money so, dont get burned like we did.

DO NOT USE this bus tour!!! The worst every....completely ruined our day. My friend and I took this tour bus on 1 Aug. We were informed this was a guided tour with a hop on hop off option. We selected the red and blue/purple line. We picked it up at Union Station DC. Our trip to the White House was as advertised. A knowledgeable tour guide provided a fun cometary to the sites we were seeing. We got off at a stop near the White House and returned approximately 20 min later. We were told the buses ran every 15 to 20 min. We stood....in the hot sun....for a half and hour. Finally a bus arrived. However it was only for the yellow line. We waited another 15 -20 minutes and two buses finally arrived. However they were both for the yellow line. There were a number of us waiting and we spoke to one of drivers to inform him we had been waiting on a red line bus for over 45 minutes. After approximately 10 minutes the driver we had complained to showed up with a bus for the red line. I was a little confused how he had switched bus and returned so quickly....however we were relieved to be getting on a bus to continue our day. However the bus we no longer had a tour guide and the plug in headphone option was not working either. We got off at the Lincoln Memorial to catch the blue/purple line to Arlington. We waited again for well over the 15 to 20 minutes for a bus to show. When one did it to did not include a guided tour of any kind. We were taken to Arlington and told buses were running approximately every 30 minutes. After visiting Arlington we waited for approximately 30 minutes and saw no bus. We lost faith one would show we decided to walk back across the bridge to the Lincoln Memorial. No, I am not kidding. As we walked....in the heat and sun.....we never saw a CitySights bus. At the Lincoln Memorial we were able to catch a bus to return us to Union Station. Again, this bus had no guided tour. We filed a formal complaint at the number on the map and also at the stand were we brought our tickets. We wanted a refund. Instead they opened a file to determine if we could get a refund, which we have not yet received. We were also ordered a free ticket to ride the next day. After telling them what a horrible day we had on their bus the best they would offer was to do it again....are you kidding me. I will never take this bus tour again and it is no my mission to save others from taking it too. My friend and I were grateful for one thing. We were grateful we did not have our kids with us. We felt so sorry for those we shared our rides with that had children who were not only disappointed about no guided tour and the broken headphone jacks but were exposed to ridiculous long waits in the sun and heat. It is also important to note that during our many wait times we saw (with jealousy) other tour buses stop a number of times. In fact Old Town Trolly was everywhere and better yet they are covered transportation. PLEASE DO NOT use CitySights DC....this bus tour needs to be shut down!!
