Overall this was a good hotel stay! My friends and I stayed here this past weekend—a room with 2 queen beds with terrace view and another room with 1 king bed. The rooms were clean, beds were comfy enough, and the room was spacious.Downstairs, there is a bar lounge that is open—for food and drinks. One of our rooms got charged $49 valet when no one valet there so I had to dispute it with the front desk—wasn’t a huge I issue, they removed it quickly, just a bit annoying. This hotel location is good for Uber/Lyft rides—we never had to wait too long for our rides, day or night!
Stayed here for a Black Girls In Real Estate Conference and was soooo impressed.. I was able to secure the group rate which was a bonus!! Arrived early... check in time states 3p arrived at 1pm and was given a beautifully appointed double room that was very spacious and had all the feel and charm of a studio.. The bathroom was very spacious with a walk in shower and rain forest shower head that had excellent water pressure. Had a working refrigerator which doesnt always happen.. lol.. was so happy to have very cold beverages for the afternoon.. The restaurant on site opened early and had wonderful staff and was spaced according to covid 19 specifics. This hotel was a great place to stay and all the extras for a wonderful conference.. Loved it!!!!!
Had an amazing trip! best work trip ever.1)The front desk staff is amazing. Very kind and friendly!2)The bar is really relaxing with great staff that are very knowledgeable.3)Perfect location downtown and next to everything.4)After checking out I needed a receipt for work and called reaching Tracy. She was so kind and was able to email the receipt while I was over the phone with her.5)The room was beautiful and well appointed with everything I could possibly need.Such a great work trip. Thank you to all the staff!!!
A big concern for any place I stay is cleanliness - especially nowadays. This Courtyard was clean, the mask policy was well looked after, and the team working there were great. It is immediately next to the convention center and some great restaurants. The only downside is the parking *is* expensive - no matter where you park locally, and the rooftop bar was closed both nights we were there. Other than that though, it is a great place to stay. I highly recommend it, and dont say that lightly. I will definitely be back.
Nice, clean and comfortable hotel. Food by the lobby bar was delicious. Breakfast was good also. Worth the price
The hotel was clean and comfortable, and the staff was professional and friendly. However, the water in the shower did not drain, making it difficult to shower. The manager did give me a discount when I reported the problem. I would stay there again, but I would check the bathroom first.
Reservation some confusing because Expedia did something wrong (they said). Check in super quick ( except for this issue having reserved through Expedia) Room was super nice but air conditioner noisy and never got cold. Concierge and bell boys super nice. People at the lobby bar sometimes like “boring- slow” not all of them. We never got the fourth bath towel (in 3 nights).
I love much this hotel. Its beautiful andso comfortable, very clean. The members of the Staff are very Great People sincerely, great hospitality. The members of thehousekeeping very nice and hard workers,we appreciate all your hospitality, thanks alot 5 ⭐ +👍
Me and my husband had a one night getaway at this property. Good service at the front desk with nice and helpful people. Ahmed our server at The Delegate restaurant was awesome!
First time at this property and was pleasantly surprised at the level of service received. Every employee I encountered during my stay was friendly, genuine, and helpful. My room was clean and the bed was super comfy.Great location near the convention center, a block from Metro and walking distance to several eateries, shops and sites.Real star here is the rooftop lounge area. Has lovely views of the city. Hopefully once things open back up the hotel will extend the hours that the rooftop is open. Its a great spot to relax and have a drink in the evening.Would give 5 stars if the onsite restaurant was better. Food is overpriced and nothing spectacular. If they stepped up the quality of the food, and offered more variety on the menu, that would be great. People dont mind paying a little more for quality, but you have to deliver on that and give them a portion worth the value.
Nice hotel, only reason I didnt give it a 5 was there was no pool. Very easy quick checking, late checkout, comfortable bed, very clean. Easy to get to things. Pregnant worker at front desk was very accomodating.
It was my first time staying here the staff were very nice. Valet parking is available, which was a life saver for me. Their rooftop was really nice, took my 9 year old with me and he loved it as well. Highly recommend this hotel if youre staying in Washington DC.
From the moment that you enter the facility, the ambiance is absolutely beautiful. To make matters even better, the staff is very nice and helpful. The room was clean and spacious. The restaurant The Delegate had great food. Our stay provided breakfast. The choices were limited but it filled us up for breakfast. We sat on the rooftop to eat our dinner. The food is pricey but they give you an adequate portion for the price. The people of DC are very friendly. We actually walked the first day of our stay to the White House. We saw that you can rent bikes so that is what we did to explore DC. Everything was in the perfect location. About 5 minutes from the hotel. The next time we are in DC, we will definitely stay here again.
If you’re looking for a great hotel to stay in DC, this is the one. Very clean, contemporary and updated. Large bathroom and decent room size. It’s also pretty close to all the main attractions (20-25 min walk) or you can Uber for around $10 to the National Mall area. Many great restaurants around. Also, they allowed us to check in early so we could start exploring the area right away. I would definitely stay again.
Room was clean and very spacious and nice. The staff was not very friendly and whenever we asked questions they were dry and short. Parking is expensive and closes at a certain time. Came back and we had to park elsewhere cause the valet was closed. The worst part of the experience was that my earrings were taken from my room and there no one willing to look into it. We were told the director was out and had to call back. Called back multiple times to no avail. Nice hotel but customer service and staff communication is terrible.
From the moment we tried to check in was horrible. The front desk manager and her employees were not very pleasant. We had forgotten to print out our friends and family paper and so we asked if we can email it as we had it in that form. They said no and told us we had to go to the printers and print it. Neither of us remembered our password as it was a new devise we were signing into. They could care less. There was no understanding, care, hospitality or empathy for the situation. They had us waiting downstairs while we had to create a whole new email so we could email to the new account and then print. We finally got into the room and there was a used shampoo bottle on the ground, old gum packs under the bed and the shower flooded the bathroom. I asked for hotel manager and he was just as bad. Made excuses that made no sense. I have stayed a other Marriotts and more upscale ones and it was awesome. He switched us to another room and removed the one night. The next room was good. We had to leave for one night and check back in in the Sunday. We got rm 824 which also flooded and the engineer asked if we wanted to move but by this time I was tired and only had 2 more nights so I just dealt with it. I did tell the engineer to make sure to tell the front desk. The only good thing about my stay there was Tracy the front desk supervisor. She was sweet, understanding, friendly and pleasant. She should be the manager instead. The rooms that were bad was 943 and 824.
So beautiful! The rooms have a full kitchen in them well the room we stayed in. It was exceptional for our family of 5! Clean, spacious, parking was easy! So fantastic would stay again in a heart beat.
Great location for the hotel. The staff were very nice. The only issue I had was that the rooftop was closed for a majority of the hours. It was also only open for people who used the restaurant. Such a waste of a beautiful view.
The room itself was fine/acceptable. The smart TV does not connect to apple devices (don’t know about android) so the TV is useless as a smart TV unless you want to log in to the preloaded apps. If you want to stream from your phone you are out of luck. You need to bring extra equipment to even cast to the TV. It was impossible for us to cast Disney+ from our phones to the TV. Even though there is an option to connect your phone to the TV, this will not work and when you follow the steps and hit ok on the remote to finish the process, the TV will go dark and that’s as far as it will go.Also, the parking garage is by far the worst I’ve ever used. Horribly small and terribly configured. Be careful driving because it is a cluttered, dangerous mess. The spots are not clearly marked, it is never apparent which direction you should be going, and people are parked in places that aren’t even parking spaces. The front desk staff didn’t know anything either. When we checked in, we were told the garage was full (it wasn’t), and when we checked out we were asked for our parking passes (never received one). The parking machines with the robotic arms were disabled and open the entire length of our stay, so I have no idea how they calculated how the parking lot was full in the first place.Overall, the hotel was fine as a spot to sleep and use the bathroom, but the parking is a disaster and the TV was useless.
Fair prices. Noisy creaking bathroom door. Low water pressure. Basic amenities. No free breakfast. Free wifi was quirky.Good room size.
Was a decent hotel to stay at, just that parking is very expensive there, $57 a day 😬. Other then that its nice, they do have breakfast you can buy downstairs too. They offer room service as well. Alas they have no pool her though, its one other down side, also they have no microwaves in rooms. Youd have to go allll the way downstairs to use 1 microwave in the Marketplace, very inconvenient.
Best Marriott Ive stayed in by farGreat customer service. From the moment I parked in front of the building, until the moment I checked out.Clean, attentive, extremely well maintained
My husband and I stayed here on an impromptu trip to the area. It was very centrally located and close to all of the monuments/ sites. We were pleasantly greeted and helped with our check-in, customer service was very nice. Our room was wonderful - it was clean and sanitized. They have it set-up so you can login to your own Netflix which was a handy little perk. The bathroom was amazing with a huge walk-in shower! We got breakfast at the hotel, it was cooked to order and delicious. We had a very good stay here and will definitely be staying with them again.
Very nice and lively place..a little difficult to navigate but good location
My stay was comfortable The workers are very nice but the food is not good at all
Not sure how long this hotel has been open but everything looked brand new. Fun roof top bar. My wife made fun of me when I booked a Court Yard by Marriott with all the options in DC. She had to eat crow. Nice stay!
Our stay was nice but we left some clothing in the closet when we checked out and supposedly no one found it. Make sure you don’t leave anything in your room or you will never get it back!
My 2 stars are for the good location and friendly staffs. The quality of the room was under expectation: the water flow at the sink was so weak. I could barely rinse any things with it. The internet was on and off that caused I could not finish my final exam online ontime( which is 1 attemp only).Bad experience
Absolute worst food in marriot history. I find it extremely hard to be able to mess up breakfast food if you are a cooking chef or in established restaurant with that being said breakfast and brunch was not good in DC of all places which means that lunch and dinner was even worse I checked my parents into a hotel as I am a local living person here I thought that this hotel What’s up to par. It is not.
Personal items were stolen from my room. The staff was not helpful at all in addressing my concern. I do not feel safe staying and will check out early. Stay safe. Don’t stay at this hotel.
Friendly staff, spotless rooms with everything we need. Room looked well updated. Great downtown location.Room service is not actually room service. You have to go to the lobby to get it yourself. Yet, they still have ads for room service in the room.. Might want to take those down. The catchall excuse covid is used. Also, they charge 10% DC sales tax. Im not sure how this is legal, as DC sales tax is 6%...Parking is an issue, as it seems to be everywhere in DC. We payed $35/day to keep our car a few blocks from the hotel. If you want to park at the hotel, I would call ahead.
Love this place! It is convenient to go to Chinatown, the National Mall, the White House. The hotel is also close to the metro station. The price is acceptable!
Great value. Hotel is in a great location- close to everything and good food is right around the corner! Front desk staff was friendly. The rooms were new, bed was comfy and everything felt very clean. Parking is generally difficult in DC so we opted for parking at the hotel. The parking was extremely safe (have to have an opener in order to get in via car, cannot enter the deck without going through the hotel). Would definitely stay again.
GREAT Hospitality! Rooms were very clean and inviting! Best sleep ever!
Great rooms nice hotel. The only downside its parking is oh so so tight
Beautiful room, very large and wonderfully styled. Bathroom was also spacious and beautiful - the only thing I didnt love was that the glass for the shower only came out half way, making a bit of a mess on the ground & allowing cold air in. Parking garage is very tight, but extremely convenient. The staff was very friendly and helpful. And the hotel is in a great location.
Both the Courtyard and Residence Inn share the same building. There is a bar downstairs and room service. Next to the Convention center, Chinatown and subway. There are food choices within walking distance and you have the added ability to use Uber eats or other delivery options for some eateries. Down side is no microwave and unless youve been to Marriott hotels before figuring out how to get to YouTube or connect a tablet might be problematic.
It’s brand new so it’s up-to date The security deposit is ridiculous if you’re only staying a day or two but if you’re staying a week it’s very reasonable The staff seem very helpful And the stay was pleasant the breakfast is definitely one of the better ones I’ve had in a hotel the delegate is a great little spot
Tough parking options. In-house, if avail. is $40.Otherwise, good price for location
If i could give no stars i would. i booked a two-night stay in dc and i have to say, this is the WORST experience i’ve ever had with any hotel in a large city. the check-in process was anything but smooth and throughout our stay we were interrupted by maintenance to enter our room. i was extremely underwhelmed by the staff showing no remorse for the lack of organization and eagerness to correct the issue.
Great hotel some major issues with their card system but honestly a great hotel.
Very clean, quite and love the security measures. Bed is amazingly comfortable and the blackout curtains. I needed the rest so the curtains really helped me
Love love love all around and I forgot the name of the one manager woman who was so brave in the morning when a man was being terrifyingly aggressive but the staff member banded with her security guard and they handled this man so well I ended up calling the police on him but honestly she was the police herself but she shouldn’t have to go through that but the fact that she did and the fact that she hacked him as well as she did was amazing.
Great roof top restaurant with a view of the Capitol Dome. The hamburger was delicious. V
Upon my arrival I checked in at 2:30am after a long flight in Sunday - and the room they gave me was occupied when I walked in. Leaving Wednesday, I had my bag checked behind the reservations desk, and when I handed in my ticket to have it returned… it wasn’t till I got to the airport that I realized they gave me the wrong bag. Very clean place but terrible experience for me.
Excellent hotel! Great staff and very very clean! Centrally located to everything!
Nice rooms, hope you speak Spanish lol
Our stay was wonderful. The staff were very nice and welcoming. We also liked this hotel because it is very close to everything.
Very friendly staff and super helpful. Rooms were very clean and very cozy. Lots of amenities that made the stay even better. Walking distance to so many great sights to see.
Room was clean, queen beds were comfortable. Staff was top notch.
QR code for food. Poor food and lack of bill transparency.
Really Enjoy this hotel. Clean comfortable rooms and TV cued up with a Personal greeting.it really has that WoW factor. Great stay at reasonable price
The rooms was what bi expected what i didnt expect is no garage for self parking having to pay 38-45 on top of paying
Not happy with this hotel. No tissue, curtains are ripped or not attached, one of the window curtains keep activating and opening on its own. Also the couch was very dirty and looked very old. I would not recommend this place. Not worth the money!
A great value in Washington DC. Very friendly staff and clean premises made this a very nice day. And even an acceptable rate.
Excellent, great hotel, Great location A+
Decent hotel. Very friendly staff. Bonus that they have a parking garage. Management should strictly enforce the no smoking policy. You can smell it in the hallway.
Make sure you have an extra $150 for the incidentals deposit. Beautiful place in a great location, though!
Not a special and not perfect but ! Underground parking level is plus thing in the middle in DC
Giving 2 stars purely for the room and cleanliness. We booked a single room with two queen sized bed for 4 people. At the reception, we were told that room service will not be provided but you can request toiletries on call. Once we reached the room, we realized that toiletries and towels were provided merely for two people’s need. I understand due to COVID, the hotel is understaffed. But when you know reservation is made for 4 people and they have checked in, the least the hotel can do is provide for all.Anyway, the toiletries nor the coffee satchels reached us even after repeated calls. I did see a few staff just walking here and there in the lobby aimlesslyWhile checking out, we wanted to visit some places around, so we asked at the reception if they could hold the bags for us for a few hours, the lady at the reception agreed. We got our bags, the new lady suddenly went like no we can’t. My colleague misinformed. She agreed to keep our bags in our rooms for a few hours but again started with giving us time stamps to pick it up.Please don’t mislead the guests. If you can’t hold, just be clear. If you can, then give clear instructions. The limited staff needs to be more attentive and communicate in a better way and not do away just because room service isn’t provided. Please improve in terms of attitude and not treat guests like you are doing a favor on them. Then there is no need to keep the hotel open in the first place. Not a pleasant experience at this one for sure.
The hotel is beautiful but I can not give it 5 stars! Why?? I feel at the prices that was paid a night the room should have a microwave. Also,my guest and I should have been told at check in because of covid 19 our room would not be cleaned by housekeeping and that we had to request new towels. Lastly the rooftop bar is really nice but you have to use a card to purchase food and drinks no cash accepted.
Very clean and comfortable room, except the HVAC that was so loud it woke me up about every 30 minutes. The desk staff was in a mid meltdown when I checked in, but there was literally no pressure. Maybe 2 or 3 parties patiently waiting. Better values in the capital city for sure. Try the Kimpton George for better prices and superior location. Dont waste money on Marriott Washington Downtown/Convention Center - overpriced and over-hyped.
I am dropping one star because of small things which could improve. Some of the staff show some attitude. Coffee machine in the room did not work and it took some work to get a new one. We were told that the garage was full, but once we got in, there were PLENTY of available spaces. Not sure how they assess them. Otherwise nice new hotel, very clean, careful about COVID and comfortable. We were overlooking a back yard and some buildings, but this is DC.
Front desk lady was nice and sweet, cant remember her name though sucks...maybe it was Louise? She even remember my name which not alot of ppl can do that. Would definitely come back to visit in the near future
There were no bath towels or washcloths in the room I called at 8:30 at night asking for washcloths and did not receive them the next morning I called and they told me that they had no one to bring.. The elevator was nasty
My experience was amazing. The location the room and the overall hotel were outstanding
Great service the bed is really soft idk how i feel about it. The room is nice minus the toilet runs forever and the ac is loud.
Beautiful new hotel. Everything was great except our bed sheets had a weird smell to them. The front desk helped get them changed out quickly. Great rooftop bar too.
Excellent, very clean, very comfortable. Close to all DC has to offer!
This is a nice hotel but I would advice people with disabilities to find elsewhere to stay. The parking lot in incredibly tight which leads to people without handicap passes parking on the lines. If you have a van that supports a wheel chair user your be completely screwed. I alerted staff and they did nothing. Granted the parking lot it so tight a tow truck wouldn’t be able to get down but staff could have at least Ed alerted police or parking services and got these people ticketed, yet they did nothing. My suggestion is to find a different hotel that understands and respects disabilities.
I ate at the restaurant, which was great!
I enjoyed staying at this Marriott. I was in town to visit a friend on Valentines Day, but wanted to spend some time on Thursday exploring the city by myself. I initially booked a king, but another friend wanted to meet me on Thursday, so I asked the front desk to swap rooms. The front desk staff was overwhelmingly helpful when accommodating my request. I was also given an early check in at 1 pm. The rooms were a great size, comfortable, and pretty. I ran into no problems while staying there, and have no idea why anyone would pay the extra 200 bucks to stay at the Marquis Marriott across the street.
Loved it. Close to everything and spacious.
Great location and very clean, I may have been a little harsh last review
Hotel was clean and well presentable with entrance only allowed if you have a room key. Its about 15-20mj s walking distance of the main attractions with plenty or scooter transportation available. Note; all rooms face the interior Courtyard (which now makes sense) when asked for an exterior facing room. They charged $15/day for high speed internet instead of the $4.95 on the sight upon check in...I was running wayy to late for my flight to even worry about it at check out, ugh. Everyone at the front staff was nice and friendly regardless...thanks!
An absolutely amazing stay. It is conveniently located to the convention center and transit station . If the convention center is open I recommend walking through there to reach the hotel. The restaurant located onsite is called Delegate and had some of the best avocado toast Ive had in a while. Its honestly like a meal on its own. The bedroom was well designed, comfortable, quiet and had a really nice shower. Actually, the bathroom was well designed in general. The hotel staff did not acknowledge my Elite status, that would be the only thing I can say that is even remotely close to negative about this visit. Which is saying a lot. I will definitely stay here again.
Wonderful experience staying here. The front desk staff was polite and helpful. The rooms were very clean and quiet.Fresh towels were brought in quickly as soon as we requested it. The check out too was quick and good.
Artificial beauty.
Although the hotel looks nice, I didnt give 5 stars because housekeeping was missing. I had to inquire..day 2...then I was informed about Covid-19 rules. The Covid-19 rules were not indicated on their website. Nor did the front desk inform me on day 1.
Great bed. outstanding customer service. Charles went above and beyond taking care of our family. We were truly blessed.
Front desk staff has clear attitudes. when you first walk in it seems that theyre mad that they have to actually do work. Nothing is Clean . terrible experience would not recommend. had to literally switch hotels .
I absolutely enjoyed my stay. The staff was very friendly and always helpful. I had to call the front desk numerous times about questions regarding the air conditioning and other miscellaneous things. They were always helpful, and seemed welcoming. The rooftop seating was amazing. We got to sit there at night and enjoy the view. The fitness center is also on the rooftop and it has everything you would need while traveling. Bathrooms are very clean, including the ones in the lobby downstairs. Overall a great experience. I would definitely stay here again as I know that I can expect them to treat me well and also be close to my favorite spots in DC.
My husband and celebrated our 15th wedding anniversary in DC and I have been a Marriott member for 15 years. We simply enjoyed our experience at the Courtyard Washington Downtown. The service was impeccable, the rooms were clean, spacious, and extremely comfortable, the food and drinks were amazing. This hotel has true mixologist at the bar that know what their doing. We also loved being within walking distance of the city center to have access to the shops and restaurants. We will definitely stay at this hotel every time we come to DC. I have already recommended it to my co-workers.
I was quite impressed with the rooms, restaurant and friendly staff.
Super clean and friendly staff!
Great hotel with great ammenities and decor. However, their A/C system is terrible! It was noisy and it got very warm at night. Couldn’t sleep because of the noisy unit and how warm it got.
Centrally located hotel that was quiet and comfortable. Hotel staff went out of their way to ensure our stay was pleasant. Erica was especially helpful with tips about the city and directions. Close to the subway and within walking distance of many restraunts and bars. Would definitely recommend.
This hotel is absolutely beautiful and modern. The staff is incredibly friendly and helpful and the men that work Valet parking are so accommodating and nice. The restaurant food was incredible. We didnt want to leave. You can walk to all the sites (but bring good shoes, everything is a hike). I highly recommend this hotel.
Beware that there are multiple Marriott-s in Washington, and more than one Courtyard Marriott.
Amenities are lacking. No pool. Refrigerator only stayed on for 2 hours before having to turn it back on.
Awesome room, excellent hotel!
Reserved a room for 3 days left a day ahead checked out at 1030 they still tried to charge me the 3rd day felt like I was getting scammed
