Our stay here was great. The lobby was gorgeous. The rooms were a decent size and clean. Any issues we had were addressed immediately and efficiently. The staff was excellent especially Richard ( Im pretty sure thats his name) he took our bags to our room and to the car. He was just the sweetest most helpful guy! Our entire family just loved him. He was so kind and helpful. Overall our stay was great and we are looking forward to visiting again in the near future.
We recently did a weekend getaway and stayed here and was very satisfied with our stay. The location is super convenient and everything is within walking distance. We actually came back two weeks later with the kids and stayed at the same hotel but a different room and was even more impressed! The staff is very professional and made our stay phenomenal. This will probably be our go too from now on when staying in DC. You can’t beat the price for the quality of service and convenience that we have received.
Love this hotel. The staff are very kind and helpful. The rooms and hotel in general are above standard in cleanliness. No issues whatsoever from checking in to leaving. Hotel is in a central area and is minutes away in car or on foot to many tourist areas or just different landmarks in general. Highly recommended and definitely will be back.
Lobby was beautiful and well kept, cleaning staff was quick to clean and straighten up as soon as you got up. all the employees were professional, and super friendly, especially front desk staff. I had a room on the 15th floor and it was beautiful, clean and inviting. the housekeeping staff were super friendly and always smiling. everything was perfect! looking forward to coming back. highly recommend.
Positive: It was great. A staff member who checked me in was so friendly and accommodating. Will use it again. Negative: None.
Coming out of pandemic hibernation I was thrilled with the precautions and care the hotel provided.Great location with plenty of excellent restaurants and shopping on the area. If you dont mind a little walk the Smithsonian and Mall are easily accessible or take a cab
Clean rooms!Great room services!Comfortable beds and pillows!Nice decor to lobby and sitting rooms.Bar was okay. Drinks pricey, but I couldnt taste the alcohol.Overall, a great experience...I will definitely visit again.
Pretty sure there was mold in the ventilation. Parking in the garage is not part of your pay. But the beds were comfy.
Good rooms, great lobby and front desk staff.
Had trouble with one of the Concierges and it took me 2 HOURS to check in.. had to get a different person to check me in. The bathrooms need repairing. I stayed here on 2 occasions and both rooms the bathtub filled up with water during a shower, the cold water didnt work on the sink and the toilets sounded like a train running. Pretty interior though.. Not staying here again
Positive: the location was perfect, the reception staff and cleaning staff was excellent. the security guards were helpful and courteous. Negative: the parking garage was hard to maneuver around. the ceiling was low but the yellow bumper that falls from the ceiling was lower and scraped the top of my truck. i had to place my hand out of the sun roof so it would cause too much damage.
The Renaissance Washington, D.C. Downtown was breathtaking and welcoming from the first phone call up through check out! They were very caring and patient with my inquiries and requests prior to arrival, and the definition of professionalism and attention to detail on arrival during check in. Eduardo at the front desk was incredible at check in and made our stay THAT much better by welcoming my travel partner and I with a complimentary upgrade in order to accommodate our request of a quiet room on a high floor. As far as the aesthetics go, it really couldnt have gotten any better. The lobby was beautiful, the room was PRISTINE, and though the restaurant and room service were not available quite yet, they had plenty of alternatives to provide in lieu of their temporary closure. Thank you for an incredible visit - I would absolutely recommend this location to anyone looking to make their first trek after a very trying year of quarantine!
Excellent Hotel have to stay here again
Nice hotel. Clean and cute decor. The staff was great - especially the attendant who checked my bags while I was at brunch before my flight.
We Started at the Renaissance Washington DC during Covid-19 restrictions. So We expected that things like Valet Parking and Room service not to be Happening right now. They mandated that mask be worn in Public places. The Hotel had a Starbucks, a Bar to order food and drinks, a small convenience store and a gift shop. The elevator was a keypass system. The Rooms were clean and the bed was comfortable.
Nice people and rooms. Complaint is that I was charged $16.50 plus tip for a glass of house red wine served in a plastic cup. I don’t mind paying high prices for alcohol, but this seems ridiculously high to me.
Positive: Nice staff Negative: Looked old like needs remodeling. There¿s an abandoned parking lot in the front of the hotel. There¿s no good view. No swimming pool. Should be a 2 star no where near a 4 star at all!
The staff was very kind and helpful. Room was clean and calming.
Positive: The friendliness of the staff and cleanliness of the hotel were the things that stood out. Negative: Elevators were very slow. Mask policy was lax
Positive: Walking distance to the Smithsonian, great restaurants, a perfect location. Hotel smells amazing and was super clean and modern. Negative: Everything was perfect.
Amazing hotel. Super friendly staff. Amazing location right in the heat of dc.
Very clean and modern. Starbucks in lobby. Hands down best hotel gym in years.
Hotel walls are very thin, and the air vents make sound travel too well. The staff was very nice, but they could not do anything about the noise happening constantly. The faucet leaked onto the counter and the shower water pressure was not good either.
Positive: Very beautiful Negative: Not enough signs and directions when trying to get around
Clean room! Very quiet but conveniently located! Enjoyed my stay!
This was a very good hotel. It was clean and the staff were extremely friendly
Negative: Overall a nice hotel however my first room had a disgusting urine stain in the sheets at but yet they still made the bed. I was surprised that they made the bed even though there was an obvious large stain. Despite all of that they move me to a new room w
I went with my son female gf friend to otakon and it was really fun. Of course there were a lot of people and cosplayers but that is to be expected. The prices were 40$ each and it was a bit confusing at first but we got it squared away. It was really open but also super crowded. I highly recommend if its your cup of tea.
OkHere is something that maybe any another hotel will not do for anyoneWe stayed there on 7/23-7/26 we visited the sites and had fun so much funWhen we walk out of room we like to lock our electronic and my wife’s small purses in the safe, which we did here as wellWe locked the safe went for a walk got back open the safe take outside kids iPads but left the valuables that belongs to my wife in it and another morning left the hotel for a New York CityIn New York City we noticed that wife’s valuables are not with us all together around 4500$We called this hotel talked to them about and here is what they did for usThey packed everything in a FedEx box and sent it to our house address in GeorgiaIt did arrived just on time when we told them when we will be back homeTy ty ty so much for all that you did for usAny wayThe hotel is one of the kind will stay here anytime we go back to Washington DC
Positive: Value was better than expected Negative: No, the room and staff was top shelf
I will tell you one thing that online travel agents do not want you to know. When booking stays use ʜᴏᴛᴇʟʙᴜʟʟʏ.ᴄᴏᴍ They have the best deals on hotels! Much better than using orbitz, priceline, agoda. No doubt about that!!!Excellent location, great gym, wish their was a sauna or pool. Their is a Starbucks located on the first floor.
This is a nice place and centrally located.
Fantastic general manager, Mr. Matthew Felix, Love him. Loved, loved the fresh vegetables they had at the breakfast buffet, best ever!! I’ll be going there again next month I can’t wait.
Beautiful hotel, clean spacious room and quite luxurious
Positive: Location and close proximity to my Howard University destination. Negative: I did not like the fact that the dining area was closed due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
Always enjoy staying at Renaissance. This D.C. location is good. Staff were friendly. Walking distance to many sightseeing tourist sites. Will be returning in the future. :-)
Excellent customer service at front desk
Entrance to hotel go throu the valet parking area on 9th street park and check in or you can go directly to the parking garage on i street and park in level 2 orange signs for hotel lobby, Nice hotel, nice staff, has mini fridge and a tv that looks bigger than 19 inches.
Positive: The room is just fine, Id say the bed is pretty much comfortable to sleep on. Negative: We expected for a better view.
Great lobby to socialize and meet with business clients. The staff is great always when I am at the hotel.
Staff were pleasant but not too knowledgeable of available events in the city. Rooms were fairly clean, but I had to personally request the new towels everyday. My thought was theyd simply replace them.
Nice clean room great customer service. 👍🏿
Its dated hotel that could use update to the rooms. The staff is amazing super helpful and have been super supportive.Biggest issue I have is at this hotel any mail gets sucked into fedex who then charges INSANE PRICES. So use a Amazon drop box or some where else to have mail dropped to as fedex will charge the ever living hell out of you.
Did not go inside but the place looks nice.
Staff were very friendly, location was great it’s walking distance to everything. Felt very safe. Nice breakfast in hotel and good parking available right on location. Will be staying again and already booked a room.
Fantastic lobby. Great library, a worthy Washington library
Great location in DC. Parking expensive. Concierge lounge still not open.
Best place evergreat employeesthank you for assisting all of us
Upscale 4 star hotel in DC.
Its Awesome nice peaceful and you will just love it!!
Staff are friendly and the rooms and spaces are clean. Housekeeping is also very friendly.
The hotel was booked for a last minute trip and let me tell you I was floored by its esthetic and cleanliness. I would go back to DC just to stay here again for longer. The entrance and common areas were beautiful. But my room was amazing. It’s decor matched the beauty of DC. Rich in culture, people and history. The room was so clean and the bed was the comfiest hotel bed I’ve slept in in a long time.
Positive: location Negative: better staff
Great hotel, oddly enough there is no microwave in the room.
This hotel was so clean. It had beautiful decor and the rooms were comfortable. Customer service was awesome. Definitely will return.
Good place verrry friendly
I love the renaissance hotels but my experience at the one in DC on 9th Street was ok. I expected much more and was a bit disappointed. The lounge area is really nice and I liked how there were several areas (such as they library) to relax and unwind. The rooms are a bit outdated and could def be revamped as well as the bathroom area should be more spacious. The toilet seat area is extremely close to the shower. The suite itself was spacious. I didn’t like how I had to wait for almost five hours to check in after requesting an early check in. Was told I’d be in there soon but it kept changing whenever I would call for an update. The drinks and food at the Presidents Bar is pricey but pretty good. I ordered the chicken tenders and French fries (which were seasoned). I’ve grown to love the Renaissance hotels so I won’t let this experience deter me away.
Stayed here during pride week 2019. Everything was clean and kept well (as should be expected for this price range). Wish there was free parking or discounted parking offered for garages nearby such as the CityCenter parking 1 street South.Nothing spectacular, the minimum expectations for a hotel at this price, is what youll get.One complaint is the rooftop/balcony is only open to VIP guests... this should be open to everyone.Would not come again
The staff was nice and welcoming. When my flight was postponed they accommodate a later check out which was very helpful. I would recommend this hotel if you visit DC.
I decided to take my family on a last minute trip to D.C. to attend the 2020 Auto Show and an NBA game. This hotel is located in very close proximity to both of these venues as well to some great restaurants and museums. The front desk clerk was very friendly and accommodating. Our room was spacious and clean. The hotel was up to date with several amenities. We will definitely be back!
Great location and within walking distance to many popular tourist destinations. I would definitely stay here again .
I stayed here for one night and really liked the hotel. The lobby is lively with a cool bar area. The location is a great area and the hotel is close to public transportation. The best aspect of this hotel is the fitness center, which has all the equipment you would find at a full gym. There are tons of treadmills, ellipticals, bikes as well as a squat rack, bench press stations, cable machines, other machines, and dumbbells up to 100 lbs.
I had a meeting. From the beginning stages of planning up to the day of execution was amazing. Crystal helped me plan all the details and offered suggestions based on her experience. Daphne took care of all my housing needs. She was excellent! My events took place like on time, like clockwork. We had so last minutes changes and they were accommodated immediately. The staff were on point and pleasant to work with. -- Everyone was wonderful!
I attended a conference at the Renaissance and was surprised to see what a well oiled machine this hotel is. The staff are all very nice and attentive, the facilities were all very clean. Had a nice room with a great view of the Carnegie Library. Its a cozy place overall but has many modern touches. It was great to have a little shop to stop and get snacks and drinks, plus the Starbucks in the lobby made for easy mornings before the conference began. Would definitely stay again.
Rooms dont have refrigerators. Everything else was great
I brought my family on a last minute trip to D.C. to go to the Auto Show (right across the street from The Renaissance). Our room was very spacious and clean. The front desk clerk was amazing! Friendly, helpful and efficient. We loved everything about this hotel, the property, the location, and the price. It was refreshing to get such great service. Thank You! This makes us want to come back more often for a visit, and we will.
This is my go to hotel when visiting DC. Great location. You can get to all of the tourists site in a quick 20 min walk. The rooms are always clean and inviting. The bar however is REALLY pricey. I paid $18 for a glass of riesling, we opted to drink at the bar/restaurant right next door. But other than the very pricey lounge, great hotel.
I stayed at this hotel twice and both experiences were excellent. The staff was very kind and helpful. The location of the hotel was excellent. Its one block from the convention center and near Chinatown and the Metro station. I was upgraded to a suite the second time I stayed there and the room was gorgeous, large and very comfortable. I would recommend this hotel to any of my friends who are visiting DC for business or pleasure.
Great and nice
The Renaissance is a lovely way of spending time when you are visiting the District of Columbia. It is located in a district with a lot of entertainment and has close proximity to the Mall area with all of its museums and monuments. The hotel offers easy parking and access to mass transit of all forms. The staff at the Renaissance is beyond compare. They work hard to accommodate needs in a kind and friendly fashion and are in no way overbearing. It is so relaxing to be in a place where everyone is hoping for you to enjoy your time.
The location is perfect as it was only 9 blocks from the National Mall. My family and I enjoyed walking all around the district discovering new restaurants and beautiful museums. The hotel is very chic and clean. The front desk clerk was kind and patient. Also, the price was more than reasonable. If we ever return, wed definitely stay there again.
Enjoyed my stay here -- check-in where the staff was extrememly nice and helpful, lobby extremely large with various trendy sitting areas, starbucks in lobby as well as bar w/great tvs for sports watching. concierge lounge is large and nice, and has better hours than others i have been to. although the main entrance was under construction, there was no hassle and will only enhance your stay when done. Room was nice, but bathroom could be updated a bit.
Worst customer service experience ever. They charge me an extra night without having the decency of telling me.
We were a large family group in town for my son’s wedding. We ranged in age from 30s-70s.Some of us traveled very little. The Renaissance staff made our stay very easy. The accommodated some early arrivals and late departures. Many of us needed directions, suggestions, cabs, umbrellas, a friendly face. We were mostly not city mice and arrived by planes, cars and trains. The hotel staff helped with our arrivals and departures. They made us feel safe and welcomed. We loved the location and the appeal to a variety of ages.Everything was attractive and clean, with excellent food. However important all that is, what we will remember and be thankful for the most is the great staff.
We were there for a convention at the Convention Center and loved the proximity that allowed us to get back to the hotel a few times per day if needed. Lots of cool restaurants to choose from and a CVS, Walgreens and Safeway in walking distance were an added bonus. The Mall and Smithonians were within easy reach and also walkable (17-20 minute walk to the closest ones.). The room had everyone one could desire including a mini-fridge which is not listed in the description. I didnt mind that the hotel does not offer a free breakfast as I fast in the mornings. A swimming pool at the hotel would have been the only thing that could have improved my stay there. The free Internet for Marriott Bonvoy members was sufficient for my needs of just using some apps on my phone but may not have been enough if I had had to access it with m laptop for work.
Thus is a very nice hotel. The rooms are small but nice. The common areas are beautifully decorated and lively. The Concierge lounge leaves a bit to be desired. The evening snacks could be improved, desserts are less than favorable and they do not provide take out containers in the morning for business travelers wanting to grab and go.
Very professional and friendly employees.
Good service, clean
Nice to visit
Enjoyed my time at the Renaissance, Downtown DC location. What made my stay even more memorable were the people that work extremely hard to make their guests feel as comfortable as possible. The quality of the services all around was excellent. After long days of talking and working with clients, I looked forward to getting back to the hotel, unwinding and wrapping up my day with a good meal and an adult beverage.Keep up the great work you contribute immensely to the hospitality industry. Excellent staff need to be appreciated. Thanks,Dr. Osi.
Need a place to rest or dine? Great access to transportation? Renaissance Washington, DC Downtown Hotel sets the standard and is well known in the area by all the other shops and restaurants. The staff is friendly and the hotel and rooms are clean. Its a very modernly situated hotel that gives you the comfort of a base after a long day of site-seeing or business meetings. Your decision will be successfully executed and you will enjoy your stay.
Conveniently accessible to the Walter E. Washington Convention Centre just across the park and two streets, the Renaissance Washington, D.C. Downtown Hotel is one of the best choices for a comfortable stay with stylish decor that speaks of the city youre in. With art, photographs and attitude of the locale that is the nations capitol, the uniqueness of the hotel shows and the style never grows old. My friends and I were able to share a room with a comfortable bed and a pull-out sofa bed. Excellent air conditioning to beat the heat while in the area is such a big plus after a long day of walking around outside in the summer. The room is excellently maintained, is very clean and organised to have a good aesthetic. The hotel staff were so kind and standing by to making me feel like my every request was their priority. Theyre very attentive to the Marriott Bonvoy app requests, so this convenient option does well for both the guest and staff. I appreciate good communication from a hotel, so this is always an added plus.

Really nice hotel. I did not stay here but I attended a conference here. Starbucks inside. Sports Bar inside. Good cab service. I attended a hospitality event in a large suite. Very nice.
Beautiful place to stay for any occasion. the rooms are amazing, clean, and comfortable. the staff everywhere in the hotel were so nice and polite, they answer your questions, gave directions, and greeted you. I stay at this hotel every year and every time the experience gets better and better.
Excellent hotel with 1st class amenities, great food, and friendly/competent staff. The hotel exceeded my expectations with one of the best non resort health clubs l have ever used. The hotel was stylish, sophisticated and cozy all the same time.
I stayed here because its a 4 star hotel and i viewed the reviews but now that i have stayed here i was not impressed. I called prior to me arriving to check on what time the restaurant closed and i was told at 10:00. After we arrived here and got situated we went to the restaurant at 917, the bartender acted like she didnt want to serve us food and spent most of her time with men customers and on top of the my chicken tenders were overcooked. As for the room, small refrigerator, no microwave, the beds are beyond firm (the mattress is beyond hard) and the tv doesnt adjust.
The Marriott Renaissance is in the heart of D.C. and within walking distance to many attractions and restaurants. It is only 2 blocks from Chinatown! The hotel itself is a mix of old Washington architecture and feel, mixed with modern upgrades on the inside. The rooms are clean and the shower has solid pressure. The staff are very friendly and helpful. I will absolutely stay here again when I come back to D.C.
This hotel was excellent. I like the location. Has a great bar scene both in the lobby and the Presidential restaurant. Close to RPM restaurant, a favorite of mine. Beds were comfortable. The rooms were clean. There was no water in the rooms, but they did offer me water at the front desk. Overall, it was a great experience.
I was in town for a hockey game and power tour of the city with my daughter and grandson. The hotel rooms, lounge and staff were great. The location was perfect for walking to Capital One Arena and driving to some of the DC sites. The only downside is that the Lounge is closed for afternoon/evening snacks on the weekend. I would definitely stay here again if in DC.
Excellent!! We had a great experience! The hotel staff was beyond great especially Nicole! So friendly and made us feel special!! We will definitely stay here again!! I also should mention parking was easy, short walk to everything and the hotel was very clean with great views of K street and Mt. Vernon square. Best hotel in DC!
My stay at the Renaissance was great. From the moment we pulled up our luggage was removed....we walked into the atrium and was greeted by Navigator Nichole Shorts who made us feel like she was a family member (cracking jokes). The concierge team was great as well as front desk staff...just a wonderful stay!!#KeepdoingWhatyourDoing
It was a good location to everything downtown and the room in general was pretty nice. The bathroom wasnt as clean as it could have been but it wasnt terrible. I had a quick and easy check in. The issue as always for downtown DC is parking. I did find another parking garage that charged half as much as the hotel was charging for overnight. All in all Im glad I chose this one for the needs of my trip.
The facility is nice, staff is pleasant. However, I bought the “romance” package and it was not exactly romantic. After check in a hotel clerk/room attendant brought 6 pieces of unknown brand chocolates and placed them in my boyfriends hand. The kind of chocolate that people keep in their desk jar at work. Not exactly romantic. I was thinking the boxed elegant chocolates......but I suppose my expectations are too high. They could have perhaps packaged them in a neat, more appealing way. Upon check in we were informed that the champagne would arrive shortly after. About two hours later I called down to let them know the champagne did not arrive. Again, was informed it would be brought up immediately. About 11ish I realized I would have to make a trip down to the lobby. Needless to say the champagne that was advertised with this “romance” package arrived at midnight. Checkout was smooth with the exception of being charged $45 for valet parking when it was advertised as being included with the “romance” package. Luckily I caught the error prior to leaving the lobby. Needless to say, buyer beware of the “romance” package, as there was NOTHING romantic about it. But I will say the hotel property is awesome!
By far the best Renaissance Ive been to out of 15 or so visits. I actually got my Titanium benefits which is unheard of at Marriott nowadays plus the club lounge was great. Had I not enjoyed some beverages beforehand, I would have imbibed there as 6$ was a reasonable price for a beer. The suite was also beautiful-in fact, I usually only see these type of rooms at St Regis.
I have been trying to receive a refund from this establishment for 4 weeks for a cancellation of a room. I have spoken with four different people all claiming that the funds had been credited. When speaking with the fourth person I was made aware that the funds indeed were not credited. It has been an entire week and still nothing. Now the hotel is closed and I have to wait until someone reaches out to me. This had absolutely made me not want to ever visit this hotel.
Always nice, good upgrades 2
If anybody is trying to find good deals for hotels visit HotelBuIIy. com booked a hotel on there and they had the best rates anywhere!Excellent!!
This is a good hotel in a great location. You can walk to all the sights. There is a restaurant and Starbucks within the hotel and they have an amazing gym. One of the largest hotel gyms I have seen.
