Granted, there’s a lot of Covid fatigue in this review. Let’s start with what it’s good, it always is; the staff. I’ve never been to Marriott property that I can recall where the staff was not professional and friendly. This is no exception. However this was one of, if not the only, time that I just didn’t feel special in a Marriott. The place desperately needs a refresh. They can manage to keep the fitness center and pool open but not the restaurant or bar. You cannot even get a wine glass to take to your room Monday through Wednesday. Somehow when I was told if I want to drink something in my room I have to use a paper coffee cup it just went through me the wrong way. This is my second stay in three weeks, the next one will be at a different Marriott property in the area. It may cost me 5 to 10 minutes of walking but I hope it will be worth it.

Dont forget to use Hᴏᴛᴇʟʙᴜʟʟʏ.ᴄᴏᴍ when booking a hotel. This website will compare thousands of hotel sites and normally will have rates much cheaper compared to others! Thank me later! This hotel is one of the highest rated in this area. Ive been coming here for a long time. If you choose this place you wont be let down.Very nice rooms. Staff was very friendly. Probably a 10 or 15 minute walk to Washington Memorial.

Hotel is really great, has spacious clean rooms with nice bathrooms, and a great venue to boot. My only complaint, which sadly dragged down the whole experience, has to do with the awful service we got from valet staff. From check-in to check-out, it was all problems. The crew made it very awkward for me and my wife to get around town. We didnt take a lot of trips (about only one outing per our two-night stay) but they still did their darndest to make it clear to us they thought of us as a nuisance. When they werent doing everything they could to make each request to retrieve my car seem like a major inconvenience to them, they were openly rude and mocking to our faces. Miserable people who expect first-timers to just know every part of their valet procedure, and if you dont, you can expect to get chastised. Valet crew either needs a big raise, or, if money isnt the issue, an even bigger attitude adjustment. Everyone else was very accommodating, thankfully.

Good location and friendly staff. Even the housekeeping lady was so sweet and accommodating. We weren’t expecting our housekeeping during our stay given the current state of things with this pandemic (short staffed hospitality teams), but every single day, our room was cleaned, we got fresh towels, we even got our bathroom floor mopped. I do wish the room had a microwave, though, but not a deal-breaker at all.

We had a couple issues during our stay and the front desk staff was more than accommodating, very pleased with them! Location is fantastic and if you are planning on taking the metro, its probably the best option in DC. Beds were very comfortable, water pressure and temperature were excellent, room was quiet and we slept really well. A few downsides were the pool area felt dirty and underwhelming and our shower wasnt spotless, but I didnt care enough to complain. Restaurant is not open, so there was no room service and it would be nice if their website was updated in regards to things like that. Masks are optional if you are vaccinated which is a huge plus for us! I would stay here again.

We couldnt have been more well located! This Marriott is at the heart of DC and there are lots of attractions we can just walk to. Many of the Smithsonian Museums are in the area, as well as the National Archives and many of the tour pick-up points. The kids got to enjoy the saltwater pool every evening and had a blast! The room in which we stayed in was very family-friendly as they had doors that could connect our room to the family we were traveling with, so at the end of the day, kids could watch a movie in one room and grown-ups hang out and made plans for the next day in another room. The only thing that I wasnt aware of was the size of the beds, I understood that a room with double beds would have 2 queen size beds, which was not the case. The beds are not queen size, they are full size and that was a bit uncomfortable for me and my husband. Other than that, the staff is super friendly and goes above and beyond to help if we need anything. A great experience.

First the positives:Welcoming staff at the front when we arrived. We already had our mobile key and were directed to the elevators. The hallway had a distinct food odor when we arrived on our floor. Unfortunately we discovered the smell was coming from our room. The lobby was nice, and the restaurant looked fab.Now onto the areas for improvement:Keep in mind Im not the fussy sort. Nor am I the type to notify staff to fix things or do better. It wasnt a bad odor, but it was apparent that nothing had been done to address this from the previous guest. Minor, nitpicky issue but it was all downhill from here. The air conditioner had a nasty rattle, which was fine as it wasnt hot enough to need it on all night long. The condition of the room was beneath any sort of Marriott standards. If the management and staff cant bother to find mildew, leaks, and other shortcomings its not my job to point these things out. The whole let us make it right mentality simply allows them to ignore people who dont raise a fuss for poor service or quality. Ill simply leave this review, and take my money elsewhere from now on.The bed was moderately hard, and the fixtures were pretty worn. The bathroom had a bit of mildew here and there (which is common and I dont expect anything different at this point). What was not acceptable at all was the obvious leak and bad patch job on the ceiling. Thats where I draw the line. This isnt Motel 6 and its just plain unacceptable. And again, Im not going to request that they make it right- theyre either ignorant of the issue (bad service) or they know and just assume the complainers will request new rooms (also bad service). In either case, no thanks.

Its an OK hotel. The on-site restaurant/bar are only open Th-F-S. They said this is due to covid and staffing issues (July 2021). There is no housekeeping, unless requested. Thats understandable. The staff was excellent and responded to our room in 5 minutes when we requested extra coffee and towels. There is no breakfast, lunch or room service, so be prepared to walk several blocks to find food if you are there Sunday-Wednesday. The water in the shower was either lukewarm, or hotter than the surface of the sun. The showers have wall mounted body wash, shampoo and conditioner, which was nice. I would stay there again, but only if I had to (like for a conference). Im sure it will get better once covid is over with.

1st of all Im a Titanium Elite member for life. I have been a Marriott member for close to 20 years so I know a little bit about good service and poor service. I booked 2 rooms for my family on Sept 25th and 26th I was kicked to the curb (without proper notice) the day of my arrival. I did get an email that I had 1 room with 6 people in my party. Not possible???I called the hotel 5 or 6 times to get this resolved no answer. I finally had to call reservations book another Marriott further away just to get my travel arrangements completed. Marriott customer care also called this hotel more than 10 time no answer. A security guard finally answered the phone on the 12 or 15 time and stated no one was at the front desk. I filed a grievance and got a complaint # I asked the hotel to follow up with me (the manager specifically) no call or email to date. Ive followed up with my Marriott customer care over a week ago. They also sent a request to the hotel to follow up with me.... you guessed it still nothing. This is the most ridiculous form of customer service Ive ever been associated with and for this hotel which is a premier Marriott brand not to offer me compensation for canceling my room is beyond frustrating. I am reviewing other hotel brands to look at transferring my business to a more hospitable company.I believe Ive given sufficient time and opportunity for this issue to be resolved. This is the worst example of customer service and it appears typical of this hotel.....

Stayed at the Marriott Metro Center on business for 12 nights. It was convenient to the metro and many sightseeing locations. Having the restaurant and Starbucks in the lobby was very convenient for when I didnt feel like leaving the hotel in the evening and when I was in a rush in the morning. The fitness center was a good size with many options. Water, towels and apples were provided which was appreciated. I did have an issue with my AC working during my stay and the staff went above and beyond to rectify the situation and make sure I was happy afterwards. The moved and upgraded my room, offered me extra Marriot Bonvoy points and gave me a credit to the restaurant for dinner, which I happily used. Thank you Danielle and Nick especially for going above and beyond to make my long stay comfortable.

In addition the house keeper was very mean to me because I used my Titanium status for a late check out. She knocked on my door several times acting very aggravated that I had a late check out. The last day of my stay my air conditioner gave out which forced me to leave early. The front desk clerks are never at the desk and u stand around for about 10min after ringing bell. Definitely won’t go back especially because homeless people druggies and alcoholics hang out near by at 7 11...

We spent just one night in Washington for a guys night. I chose this Marriott over others because they have a concierge lounge and pool. As a Platinum Elite member, I enjoy the lounge for beverages, snacks, etc. Unfortunately, the lounge closed the day/evening I was there. I was told its only open Sunday evening to Friday morning, and of course, I was there Friday evening into Saturday. I didnt see this anywhere on the hotels page and was very disappointed as it was the main factor in selecting this Marriott over others. I do believe that Marriott as a whole needs to do a better job on outlining the lounge and other Platinum/Gold benefits for each hotel on the website so as to have full transparency for those traveling and looking at which hotel to choose. Also, the pool didnt look nearly as good in person as it did on the website. While not a huge deal, added together with my disappointment re: the lounge, I wasnt too happy. And, while never guaranteed, there were four of us in a room and there was no suite upgrade available, only a larger king room whose sofa would have pulled out directly touching the bed, so I kept the regular two doubles room. Again, its not guaranteed but added to the other items listed above it wasnt my best Marriott stay for sure. The hotel itself is ok - a bit outdated looking. The check-in was fine and she was very polite. Overall, I give it an average rating.

This was my third stay at The Marriott Metro Center. It sits literally on top of the convergence of four DC Metro Transit lines (red, yellow, blue and silver; No worries, you won’t see, hear, or feel the Metro rumbling underneath.) An elevator access entry to the Metro is about 20 feet from the front door of the hotel. This is VERY convenient if you are mobility impaired, pushing a stroller, or towing a suitcase from Reagan airport. I am a woman over age sixty five and traveled alone on this trip. I took the Metro with my suitcase in 20 degree weather to and from Reagan. Unless you already know where it is, the elevator is difficult to find when you are IN the Metro station, so if you find yourself taking the escalator to the street on the inbound trip, you are a short two block walk from the Metro station to the hotel. Outbound, you will have no difficulty finding the elevator at the edge of a small urban plaza/park just outside the hotel. The major museum and monument attractions are easily accessible by a short walk (about 5 blocks to the Mall); you can get closer to specific buildings by Metro. If you don’t want to walk or use the Metro, taxis are lined up outside and Lyft and Uber are usually no more than 2 minutes away. The hotel itself is reliably mid-range Marriott; no surprises, a good trait in a hotel. Especially during week between Christmas and New Year it is an excellent value; prices drop in DC in the winter, especially during a week when Congress has gone home and no lobbying is done. All of the museums are open every day except Christmas Day and some have extended hours.

The staff was very friendly and helpful. Have not been to a hotel that had any better employees. They were all very helpful and competent. The restaurant was very good, too, but the Maryland Style Crab Soup was delicious.

I stayed here for a week in May for a conference I was attending. From my years traveling to DC for conferences,I know that the desirability of a hotel, especially during a conference is the hotel bars ability to accommodate large groups. I was a little concerned about the layout of Fire & Sage, but the staff, particularly Yodit behind the bar, made it an incredibly enjoyable experience. They entire staff handled the large crowds efficiently and with smiles on their faces. the conference facilities also accommodated our conference of +/- 125 people very well. I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel for a conference.

If you only have a few days to see all the attractions in downtown Washington thenthe Marriott Washington metro is the best place to be. It was walking distance to all the major attractions and finest restaurants. Staff were excellent. As a gold member I got an upgraded room and the front desk was very helpful in helping to determine restaurants as well. Although the lounge was closed on the weekend we were provided with a coupon for breakfast in the dinning room. The lounge opened Sunday night and although small it was well stocked with refreshments and the food was great. We will definitely stay here again.

The hotel is reasonably priced for its great location. Dont expect a room with any good views of this beautiful city. Staff was pleasant.

Clean rooms and great service. This location was the best of all. It is a short 8 min walk to the White House and a quick uber or scooter ride to the national mall. We had a great time here!

It was a relaxing and familiar environment. Walking to shop and sight seeing are convenient. Great time! I hope I could afford to come back during the Cherry Blossom days.

This was a family pleasure trip with my two girls (12 and 9) and my husband. We had a wonderful time. First, the staff was great: friendly, helpful, responsive. Second, location really cannot be beat. We walked to the spy museum, the National gallery, the Capitol One Arena (saw the Wizards play in the playoffs), to church, to the Lincoln memorial at night (favorite thing) and more. Also, the Metro is right outside of the hotel (easy ride to airport (Regan) and Arlington National Cemetary), there is a Walgreens and a liquor store one block away. Third, restaurant at hotel was very convenient and good food. During the week, pizza, appetizers and drinks are discounted until a certain time, that helped keep the price down! Breakfast was included with our rate and it was delicious and there were lots of healthy options (not that I took advantage of those). Finally, kids loved the pool and I loved reading by the pool while they were occupied. Watch the rates, after I booked initially they went down and I called to adjust (more than once). That became a slight obsession but I ended up saving about $200. Great Stay!
