The service technician was very responsive, and everyone that I spoke to on the phone was conscientious, kind and knowledgable. They did a wonderful job with setting up my Internet.
Still have questions after tech visit and calls; so, this case is not entirely resolved.When the tech visit was initially scheduled by a phone rep, I did not like the non disclosure that the tech visit would be $79.Though the rep on the phone was very personable, I also did not like being upsold on a monthly service plan.
Ive been a long subscribing customer and am pleased with all RCN does and provides. Hopeful in near future disability customers could receive discount.Customer Service and Service Tech are all awesome.Thank you RCN.
It is just a basic service center, but they were helpful and polite and quick to take care of me. Ive been generally very happy with RCN as a service.
Ive had RCN for two years and I am consistently disappointed by the reliability and speed of their internet service. Ive looked for other providers but RCN happens to be the most convenient and affordable choice in my area.
RCN isnt perfect but theyre by far the best telecom company Ive used in the DC area, theyre generally responsive when an issue arises and work assiduously to get it fixed.(I recently had some issues and got a tech out within a day of calling in the problem). Reasonable prices as well!
RCN is an unscrupulous business with consistent service and billing issues. My internet was always spotty but it was cheap so I dealt with it. After about a year, my bill randomly doubled. Customer service adjusted the bill but every couple of months RCN would increase it even more. According to customer service, old customers pay for new customers discounted rates. My last bill was $160 for 250mbps. Just disrespectful. I cancelled service and went with Comcast. RCN charged me for the modem in one business day. Theyre scammers.

Only had service for 3 months before having to cancel due to poor quality. Constant buffering, internet wouldnt stay connected long enough to do anything. Weeks at a time with no internet. Frustrating to say the least.
The connection has been spotty. It takes an hour to reach a bad service rep. The service technicians that come to the house are GREAT. 1 out of 3, 33 percent. F.

Years ago your service was great, now I ami not satisfied with this service both my TV s constantly stops working, the remotes doesnt work I am using the TV remote and your remote to have service also j.Wi-Fi stops working this is daily and very annoying. Especially when i have pay for poor service
Go there once a month and sometimes you need the EXACT CHANGE because they are short of coins or dollars which forces you to buy something from another store beside them that you were not planning on doing. so next time i will try and remember exact change to help things go smooth
DO NOT RECOMMEND. RCN service is awful in NE DC. The internet connection drops every few minutes, so if you’re working from home you’ll be kicked out of your meetings (or if you’re a teacher, even worse getting kicked out of your class time). The entire community I live in experiences multiple outages every day. Despite over 100+ people reporting these outages and spotty internet, RCN refuses to rewire the community. Every time a technician visits they explain that until RCN rewires the community no one will have a steady internet connection. Support via text, phone, and even twitter, are unable to assist. Every year they raise your bill despite the awful service. Can no longer afford the service, not that I even want it anymore. Avoid getting RCN at all costs.

Staff are ok, service horrible, I signed up for 250 mbps but get 25mbps on my speed test even close to the modern. Call in take forever to to answer the phone. The guy came by the house to installed he left the cable box at my house never pick up. This is worse company ever. STAY AWAY FROM RCN!!!!!!!!!
Completely abyssal service. Provides poor internet services, then fails to send technicians when their equipment breaks down. I was without internet for over a week. I called multiple times and they refused to schedule someone sooner than a week after I called. Then the week passed and they did not show up for the scheduled appointment. They then called days later having shown up on a federal holiday without notice, while both my girlfriend and I were out. When I called to ask that they come at an appropriate time, the company refused to send us a technician for another week. My household has been working from home during the pandemic and RCM refused to offer us even the basic service that would allow us to do our jobs. Don’t buy internet from RCN.
RCN service was good until the decided to triple prices on the down-low. About to cancel service for Comcast. Fios. RCN in northeast DC provided good service but their corporate not so much.
Its super surprising that RCN doesnt know its own hours of operation. I was given Georgia Ave and 10th St location to drop off equipment on a Sunday. None of which opened at all. Even Georgia Ave location doesnt open on Saturday. Just a complete waste of time.
I went here to RNC to return my my cable box in the remote control to the center it was quick and easy No problems. I would recommend this place if you need to return your RNC equipment.
RCN was my internet provider in my apartment for two years. Internet was consistently fast and reliable. Customer support staff is always friendly.

Bill constantly increases, started off at $51, then $56, now $88.... also they advertise free tv with internet yet you have to pay for their cable box in order to get the free tv. If you dont want to rent their cable box, then they cancel the TV... so its not free at all
Dropping RCN as soon as I find a replacement for the channels I want and internet. Hope to be cable free by end of the week.1st...RCN does the same thing all cable channels do. They give you some stuff you want and then make you pay more for the rest of want you want in the tier system.2nd...The prices are obscene. Getting only the 1st tier it is outrageous how much they charge. I couldnt imagine getting the other tiers.3rd...Internet is terrible. They use the same tired excuse of, You are too far from our nearest hub to get perfect internet. Well, I have heard that same excuse in three very different places I have lived in the DC area and I know others who hear that exact excuse in even more diverse areas. So...it is a lie. Also, if you cannot provide me perfect internet service...why are you charging me full price?4th...The final straw was when RCN tried to screw over MASN for more money and when MASN didnt cave RCN cut the MASN and MASN 2 channels off their line-up. Now...I live in Washington, DC but I cant even watch the local sports teams (Nationals, Caps, Wizards).So...why would I pay astronomical prices for a tiered cable lineup where I dont want 90% of the channels, cant watch the local games that comprise about 75% of my viewing choices, and the internet is terrible?I hope everyone goes to one of the other options and the cable companies are forced to change their greedy ways. I know I am off cable this week. I have had more than enough of a cable company that cares only about money...to a point that it rips off the customers.
I did not have internet service for a month. They could not tell me why have me a lousy $45.00 credit. I had to use up my hotspot for WIFI and cut RCN lose this month.

Reliable service, good speed, service has been very good. My complaint is bill creep - my monthly service cable/internet started around $140, creeped upwards, called and lowered down a bit, but over last few months I’ve watched it increase to $180, $210, finally $280!!!!! Called, they found ‘a deal’ again, $190, too late, I’m switching, I want to have something consistent, not that I have to keep calling so I don’t get gauged. Losing a customer of 8+ years.
They will jack up your prices once your year anniversary comes around. Throttle your internet, I am paying for 330mbps and averaging under 10mbps, stay away.
I’ve been an RCN customer for years without any complaints but have recently experienced consistent intermittent internet interruptions which are a big problem if you work from home or stream. I get local channels only and 50mb internet for almost $170. Started at $125 about 2 1/2 years ago. Cable is reliable and customer service is exceptional but every week it seems there is a message that one or more channels will be deleted.
1. Streaming is slow. There are many interruptions. We pay extra for Premium Service. This is not what I expect.2.The written guide and the on set guide are not accurate for WETA BBC. No matter what it lists on online guide, we get reruns of As Time Goes By and Can I Serve You.3. We have been instructed on how to reboot the modem -- twice. Nothing changes.

I cancelled my service, which I had for two years, in that time I have had issues with my cable constantly going out! Also, the billing is extremely high and I have had to have a tech come out more than once, most times I fixed the problem. I actually learned how to because of the constant outage!I was very dissatisfied with RCN service.
They are ok but check your bill every month..Because it may not be correct, and make sure the package they sell you, you actually get it..
Ive been a loyal customer for the past year.I have internet service and now all of a sudden there has been constant interruptions with my service in which I feel is unacceptable! Especially for the price I pay on time every month. 😞
