Total spa experience the way it should be.My massage therapist has been there 14 years. That reveals how good they are. Whirlpool was perfect temperature. Constant attention to every detail by the staff. From towels to beverages and snacks. No need goes unanswered. Lunch by the pool was perfect so I could stay all day.
Magnolia was AMAZING! It was top 3 massages in my lifetime and Ive had a TON due to a back injury. I also tried cupping for the first time and she was super informed, explained the whole process, and worked thoroughly on my injured area, as well as the back.
Excellent experience! Had a deep tissue massage and my masseuse, Sarah, was able to isolate my biggest issue (and I didnt even know about this muscle around my scapula!) Then she showed me a simple exercise I can do every day to help alleviate the issue at home! Strongly recommend this spa.I also strongly recommend their monthly deal (I think its called The Avenue)--can get one massage a month for a better price than most or possibly all luxury spas in the city.
Average spa at best. My massage was wonderful but the attention from the other staff was poor. They made me feel in the way, and like I was bothering them by being there. Poor attention to detail. If you want an excellent experience go somewhere else, if you want an average one go here.
I loved the experience until the end. One of the front desk people named India has a nasty attitude. Perhaps it was my initial call to the front desk that irritated her, but that couldnt have been so bad it spoiled her day for the rest of the afternoon (?). I will not let her attitude spoil the review. The worse part of our experience occurred when we were paying with a gift card and attempted to use a promotion. Whether it was a training issue or a technical glitch with the payment system, Ms. Attitude couldnt apply both to our invoice. Without going into the long-winded verbatim exchange, I believe she could have been handled the matter in a much more customer-friendly fashion than it was. In the end, the pleasant Massage Therapists were shorted $15 each in their gratuities, which I know isnt a significant amount of money, but its the general principle behind the experience. Moving on...My wife and I went for a couples massage at 2:00 on 11/05/19. The front desk lady that received was really nice and helpful. Perhaps it was because she was getting ready to go home. Regardless, she was pleasant (so as not to get her confused with Ms. Attitude who replaced her). We arrived on time and she moved us through the whole massage process swiftly (from check-in to the relaxation room). It was a pleasant experience for a Tuesday afternoon. Good way to break up the week.I cannot wait to go again. The next time, I will get a deep tissue massage. Yesterdays Swedish massage was a bit too sensual for me so I will request something different when I am afforded to get a back rub in such fine establishment.
The spa is old and small no private changing room. Poor attention to detail. It was all about trying to sell you something else rather then what you asked for. The only real positive experience was my message with the young man he really focused in the areas I mentioned.
I had a lovely time. As a woman with a disability I never know what to expect when I go to a spa, but everything worked out exceptionally.I called ahead of time to see if I needed to bring my own robe, but was assured (and correctly so) that they would have a shorter robe (Im a little person) available, and it was. I was also impressed with the adjustable massage table (which Ive also never seen before). There was no strange treatment, everyone was extremely professional and halfway through my experience, I had already decided to purchase a massage membership.
So disappointing....I booked an 80 minute massage as a surprise for my hard working army guy (who has worked non stop through the holidays) and booked a night at the attached hotel (which is wonderful) only because was able to get him booked for his massage at Mynd without much notice. Had wanted a couples massage but they only had one slot open and was happy with that for him....I had told the hotel and the spa about the surprise for my guy and why he so deserves it and the hotel gave him one of his favorite beers as a “thank you for his service” on arrival which meant a lot to both of us....he brought the beer down to the massage and was drinking it as he checked in ....well....he came back up to the room 5 minutes later because the masseuse told him she couldn’t work on him because he had had a beer. I have never heard of this before, it was not mentioned to me when booking, nor was it printed in any of the materials. Disappointing at large and extra unfortunate bc he may not have another day for something like this for a long time, also frustrating as a customer who paid a lot of money for a spa package we didn’t get to use for reasons we weren’t informed of on the front end.
First time tried this place and had no regrets. Staff is amazing. Very helpful and friendly. I had a 50 min facial session with Ksenja. She was on top of her game. Amazingly soft hands. Ksenja has Kind personality and knowledgeable about all questions I had asked ;) thank you . I’ll be back !
Sara was the very best with my massage! She was soothing and calming. Also Jo Jo Lin was very good with the facial and informative on how to take care of my skin. I will definitely be back with my friends. Very impressed by the services of the Red Door at the Willard.
It was my very first time and I loved it ! Front desk was super friendly and respectful . And I loved my facial, Ksenja everything I need to know about various services she provides, on top she gave me so many tips on how to care for my skin. Ksenja was very knowledgeable about the products. I felt like a princess and my face never looked so healthy!Thank you so much !!! I’ll be back soon !
Had Daniel do a deep tissue last week and it was a tad painful (much needed to release all my tigh muscles) but super relaxing and amazing! Would def. go back.
This was one of the best massages I have ever had. The masseuse was very skilled. The atmosphere was extremely relaxing and well appointed.
I booked services here 2 days before going on vacation. I booked waxing (Brazilian, legs) and an escape pedicure + gel polish. The wax services were excellent, one of the best Ive received. When it came time for my pedicure, I was a bit surprised that there was no pedicure chair. The girl that did my feet did a poor job. She barely buffed my nails, didnt put any effort in to exfoliation and massage, and didnt do a great job on the nail color. Honestly, paying upwards of 100 for a pedicure I expect the best from a top tier salon. I can go plenty of places and get a better pedicure for less than half of what I played today, however it was my first time and I thought coming here would be a treat. Wont be returning ( except for waxing).
Staff was excellent! I dont frequent spas so Im always a little uncomfortable when I go in! They were very welcoming and kind. Diana was amazing and gave an Excellent pedicure!!!
I have already referred it to 13 people since yesterday. I liked that the Spa was very welcoming and hospitable. They knew who I was she I came through the door and My first visit had to be at the minimum a year and a half prior. The staff almost strips your layers of stress from you with every moment you stand around and each step you take. Its as if they are guiding you on a path of prominently gradual tranquility.
I enjoyed my visit at this Spa. Everything was great from the location, customer service, friendly staff, and the service that got it. I really recommend this place to my friends and I am planning to go back for more of their services. Such a relaxing and clean Spa!
Senka was great. I had a Brazilian wax by her. She was quick and professional. Then she had time, and I had a mini facial with microdermabrasion. My skin glowed and I felt relaxed and much lighter. It helped that I had a 20% off referral code. The ambiance is beautiful, I like the location as-well. It is expensive, but I felt that it was worth the money. I received the quality of work I expected. It was exactly what I needed. They didn’t have same day appoints available on the website, but I just called and booked.
I enjoy my monthly massage and I have to compliment the excellent masseuse Sara! She is very pleasant, and does an exceptional job relieving me of my shoulder pain. Ive gone to see her 5 times in a row and I wouldnt book with anyone else. Thank you, Sara!Jelena S.
Woww is all I can say!!! Jojolin is so amazing and knowledgeable! Best facial ever. She made me feel comfortable and didn’t mind that I had lots of questions to ask. I feel like my face can finally breathe again. Definitely coming back.
I received a massage, a pedi & a facial. All were excellent! Jojo was very informative about how to keep my skin looking wonderful after my treatment.
Ive been to other Red Door Spas in the area, and this should not be called a spa, let alone be allowed to operate. The staff was rude and unfriendly. The massage was ok. But the manicure was in a dingy room with no A/C, peeling paint, and no massage chair. The manicurist disappeared half way through the manicure, leaving my hands in the paraffin for over 20 minutes, leaving me to take the wax paper off and clean my hands off myself. Needless to say the manicure itself was crap. The pedicure was done using a bowl of water, not on a pedicure chair. The bathroom is filthy. Seriously, there are 100 other salons in a 1-mile radius that are half the price and offer superior service. Do not go here.
Nestled in The Willard Hotel makes The Red Door Spa even more special. Wonderful service to include the welcoming reception & changing/relaxation room staff.
I had the most relaxing day evert at the red door salon & spa. I had my hair dyed without any intention of getting anything else, but the prices of their spa services were so enticing I ended up getting a full body massage and a foot spa. Fantastic!
You better off spending the money at. Washing institute of dermatology in washington DC...half the price much better and lasting results
The place the services and the staff are amazing. Samira the front desk lady was amazing and sabah who did my pedicure was very nice and very good at what she was doing. Thank you for an amazing experience
Perfect place for a nice, quiet manicure. Not a hectic nail salon, not being asked if you want an extra services. Very quick, clean and professional. Will be going back!
Awesome place! You got everything together! Relaxation, shopping, Restaurant and bar, spa♥️...
We loved all of the staff. The nail technicians’ workspace, front desk, and locker rooms honestly could use an upgrade on the part of the owners. The technicians’ work was, however, truly outstanding, as well as our masseuses’ techniques.
Ive been meaning to write a review for a few weeks now. A few friends of mine recommended that I try it out. I was initially reluctant to get my first facial. I didnt see the point because I wash my face everyday as religious as anything else you do regularly and assume the product does the job. (Set it and forget it) as they say. When I got there I was greeted by the front desk person, they led me to the locker, I changed clothes and then went to the relaxation room. Thats where I had a glass of cucumber water. Really good stuff! There I was greeted by an esthetician named Andrea! She was very professional and knowledgeable. Once I got into the room and learned more about my skin, I found out more about the importance of true skin care. It made me realize the importance of actually paying attention to the types of products I use and how it affects the moisture or lack of moisture in my skin. Seriously, I found out the product that I was using actually had a bad effect on my skin. I got a facial from her and I absolutely fell asleep during the experience. Refreshing, relaxing and healing are a few things that stand out. She made me feel comfortable in an environment that Im not accustomed to, also educated me on why I shouldnt use certain things and what product to use post-facial. She was sent from God lol. Great experience and job by her. Due the results Ive started to see i will definitely be following up to continue this journey of great skin!
Booked a mini facial through ClassPass. When I showed up they told me I wasn’t booked and that I needed to have received a confirmation email from them first. There is nothing on ClassPass to indicate that this is the case. Now I’m out a bunch of credits and getting charged a $20 late fee because they wouldn’t let me in for my service even though I showed up. Staff were totally unapologetic and did not offer to find another solution.
Love coming for my gel manicures! Its the same price as some of the higher end nail salons in DC but a much more luxurious experience.
Had to update after my recent experience which was just so disappointing. When I arrived for my facial I waited at the front desk for 3-4 minutes while the one receptionist working was somewhere in the back. After getting to the dressing room, my esthetician walked in to ask if I was ready. While I was standing there. Topless. With the door open. She reminded me several times during my appointment that she was scheduled back to back. I arrived on time and was there when you brought your previous appointment out to the lobby...Once the session began she immediately began criticizing my skin and frankly what she deemed my neglect of it. This went beyond the usual, oh youre prone to breaking out, Im going to use this moisturizer on you today that will really help... in order to upsell some products which I understand is part of the deal . it was relentless. And some of her assessments were way off base. oh you dont use toner actually I do, twice a day. Then comes the inevitable sales pitch, which Im prepared for. Im switching jobs and during this time I need to watch my spending, I explained this to her. She kept pushing. If I wouldnt do the peel AND microdermabrasion, I should at least do the microdermabrasion for a cool ($75). It honestly felt like she wouldnt stop until I relented so i gave in and did it.This was by far the roughest and fastest MD I have ever received. It was so downright painful at points that I almost asked her to stop. She continued sprinkling in her observations during the session. I again almost asked her to stop during the extractions because she was pressing down so hard on the area just in front of the opening to my ear and subsequently pushing down so hard on top of my eardrum I feared she might actually damage my eardrum at points. So Im thoroughly frustrated at this point because were now three-quarters of the way through my facial and I am more tense then when I walked in and its time for her to apply the mask and leave me in the room for a few minutes. Now I realize she had no way of anticipating this but dripping the damp towel over my neck and then wrapping it up around my mouth triggered a sensation that I couldnt breathe and I started having a panic attack so I kept asking her to please remove the towel from my throat just so I could calm down. My hands are wrapped in the mitts tucked underneath the blanket otherwise I would have lifted it myself. I had to ask her four times before she understood what I was saying. She then has the audacity to say well I think it would work better with the towel wrapped around but I guess this will be okay...I cant believe that with tip I paid nearly $300 for this experience. After all that my friend has one of the recurring memberships and the same girl at the front counter from before give her some really confusing explanation about her membership coming to an end, but then it wasnt, but then it was the discounts, but then it wasnt, so after several iterations of this in between which she kept saying blahh and starting over it was finally decided that nothing was ending or changing about my friends membership other than that she was through the mandatory 6-month minimum.I think at this point Ill need to start going to The Red Door at Pentagon row instead. This esthetician could really use a refresher on bedside manner and Id really prefer not to run into her if I ever go back.
The massage was good, and I have to compliment the excellent masseuse. But it’s just so difficult to deal with the staff. They hardly answer the phone and it’s so hard to get an appointment.
The front desk staff here has been notoriously rude and cold for nearly a decade. They simply do not understand the concept of a spa and treat most customers with officious disdain. I have complained to red door corporate headquarters and nothing has ever been done. Generally, the aestheticians are great, but whatever relaxation they provide you is usually undone at the checkout counter on your way out the door. If you are seeking a warm and service-oriented environment, try another spa.
I had an appointment for a facial and massage today. The facial was a huge disappointment. I kept getting sold on add on services. One being dermabrasion for $50 that did nothing. Couldn’t even feel it. I was talked into a mask that took 20 minutes and the esthetician left the room during the whole treatment. When you’re paying for services they should be giving you a foot or shoulder massage. They should absolutely never leave the room. There’s always something they can do. My hand massage literally lasted one minute. Extremely over priced. They serve biscotti cookies in lobby and you have to listen to people tearing open the plastic wrap and chew the hard cookies the whole time. Such a cheap offering. The bliss spa is a much better offering if your in the area. The spa is not a top quality establishment. While I was there, someone was complaining at the front desk for their poor service as well. If you’re looking for a pampering experience, this isn’t the place.
Such a great experience!!! The space was beautiful and calming. The staff was very helpful and friendly. I highly recommend!!
Professional great staff. Came for a mani pedi left very satisfied!
Outstanding service. My eyebrows are perfect and my chin as well. I love this place
This is admittedly an expensive place to get a massage and a facial treatment, but it’s worth every penny. For one, the staff are professionals who knew their stuff very well. Also, the place is really nice and relaxing.
If you go you need to ask for Sara for a Massage and Andrea for a facial they are littleary the BEST!!!!Xoxo,Brittany :)
The management is rude and they use cheep equipment while charging you outrageous prices
Very professional, lovely technicians who are very attentive and not over bearing will definitely return each time I am in DC
I had an very relaxing facial massage with esthetician Sedi Bahramian - staff is professional, they do their job with love, lot of care and attention. Will come back and do highly recommend!
Wonderful staff who pampered us from the moment we walked through the door.
