Such a good workout. I’m in pretty good shape but WOW was this a challenge. I haven’t done a Barry’s class in two years. It was a blast and the instructor was great. I wouldn’t recommend this for someone who is first trying to get in shape but once they hit a good level of fitness to give it a shot. My recommended indicator would be feeling comfortable running 2 miles at an 8:00 pace.
The most welcoming fitness community I’ve ever met along with a killer workout. Great coaches, location, service and overall experience. Try it out, and Eric and his team will make you feel like part of the Barry’s family right away.
Nice workout, music and facility. Showers and locker room are nice too.
As a former Orangetheory member, I was curious how Barry’s compared. I can now certainly say I enjoy Barry’s more, though the format of the classes are fairly comparable (no tower though!). The space is gorgeous, constantly cleaned and obviously new. The staff is kind and energetic. The locker rooms are awesome and the towels are so soft. Someone was standing outside the room once the class ended with ice-cold washcloths which was beyond. The ability to preorder smoothies that are ready when your class ends was so extra, but an undeniably delicious and convenient perk. Try Barry’s out– I bet you’ll enjoy it!
I love this studio. The instructors and staff are amazing.
I have always wanted to try Barrys Bootcamp and finally was able to do so recently! I admit I was a little nervous going in but am glad I was able to take a class and try something different. The location itself is gigantic. The studio basically has an entire smoothie bar and a little shop where they sell all sorts of fitness apparel. You can order a smoothie and have it ready for you after class. Ultimately I didnt do this but it seems super popular. It seemed like this class flew by which I really liked. Im a pretty active runner and I liked that a lot of the class focus was on running. The treadmills are a little different than your standard gym treadmill so it takes some getting used to but it wasnt anything too daunting. The only reason I am docking off a star is purely for the price. I booked through ClassPass but the classes here are absurdly expensive as is pretty much everything inside. The smoothies are around $8-$10.Five classes here costs $165. Ten classes here will cost you $300. That is a price way too steep for me and probably why I wouldnt be a regular here, but I might pop in every now and then.
Q is my favorite instructor.. great music with an awesome workout.. having fun and working hard at the same time is the best combination.. I will definitely come back and take his class again.
A top notch, spotless facility and attentive staff greet you as you enter the Dupont circle location. Order a smoothie, it will be ready by the time you’re finished working out. An immaculate locker room with lockers that don’t require you to bring your own lock and spa-level toiletries for your post-workout routine. The workouts are highly engaging and challenging with an uptempo pace and emphasis on time, not repetitions. Pulsing music and lighting give the workouts a distinct feel from other HIIT workouts. You May already know that Barry’s is expensive but you can see where the money is going. It’s worth it. It’s worth your money and it’s especially worth your sweat.
My favorite HIIT workout in DC. Great location right next to metro. Clean facilities with very welcoming and friendly staff.
I LOVE this class. Whenever I am in DC for work I tried to pop in for a class or two. I love the camaraderie with the others in the class and the competitive group edge pushes me to finish that last all out sprint. It is quite pricey without a membership BUT I can definitely feel the burn the next day. The Oribe products in the locker rooms are a nice touch as well as the Lululemon clothing selection in the lobby. Please open a studio in the Tampa Bay area! This class is so much better than the Orange Theory Fitness studios we have on every corner.
Best workout Ive ever done, and you feel so good after. Its expensive, but worth it. The classes are run with military precision. The logistics of it all are so impressive. Im addicted!
Best workout in the world. Absolutely amazing. And it’s easy to keep coming back. Fun environment in the RED ROOM!
A quick intense workout. In and out. Smoothies after!
Great workout, lots of fun and very hard at the same time.
So glad they have Barrys in DC now. Great location, love the design and the juice bar. Locker room is clean and showers are awesome.
I tried DCs Barrys Bootcamp today. It was a great experience! The class is basically HIIT, with a mix of cardio and weights in separate segments (e.g. cardio first, then weights, cardio, and weights again).Stephen was my instructor today. He did well keeping both the cardio and weight groups on track simultaneously. There was a cool moment during the class, too.At one point (perhaps a mix-up on my part?) I was the only runner on the treadmills. Instantly two classmates -- complete strangers -- came up and joined at the treadmills next to me. One of the guys, Nick, commented, No one likes to run alone.I was impressed by the sense of community. Great class.
Staff is knowledgeable, friendly and helpful which coincides with a clean modern facility. Workouts are targeted and challenging with great music and positive encouragement.
Good workout but way too expensive per class
Came in for a couple breakfast smoothies with my girlfriend this morning and immediately felt the snobby attitude from both employees and other customers. When we got back in the car we both agreed that there was a REAL WEIRD vibe there. The employee that made our smoothies could have at least made the effort to smile. The only positive interaction we had was the cashier at the fuel bar who was from NC as well. Next to zero warmth here personality wise ... pretentious. We originally saw Jamba Juice on google maps which was closed when we showed up..... I ask a girl DRINKING A FUEL BAR SMOOTHIE on the sidewalk outside Jamba Juice (which is literally next to Barry’s Bootcamp) where we could get a smoothie and she literally says “I don’t know I’m not from around here”It’s clearly obvious that our kind isn’t welcome... it was as if she didn’t want to tell us the secret
I love this supermarket. It is run by Barry B. Benson.
