I gave this shop several tries and went to the same barber each time. I wont say who cause the guy us swell for sure but when it comes to a beard shave, beard trim, or beard cut please avoid this place at all costs. Just had my 4th and final visit and my neck is so red and burns like crazy. Several times throughout he had to stop because I dont know what was going on but the clippers were tearing my skin apart. Worse feeling ever and when I came home its not even lined up evenly. Very disappointed and unfortunately in this situation Ive had the same but not so dramatic experience the first 3 visits but every time I leave my neck is all messed up and Ive gone to several other barbers for the same beard trim. Great guy and I wont say who it is and if the owner does read this there is nothing that can be done to fix my situation cause I definitely wont be coming back but for the future maybe try and fix this problem. I doubt it can be fixed though.
One of the worst haircuts I have ever received, especially for $35. The sideburns were off by almost 1 inch and the top is uneven and choppy. Attention to detail is dismal. Will never return or recommend
The worst barber I have seen. I didn`t mind that the barber wasnt pleasant or friendly, but I have asked for a very simple haircut and explained to the barber what I wanted. I can`t see how anyone can fail this - a simple even clipper trim on the sides and half the top with scissors.First of all, I almost jumped out of the chair when the barber simply poured water out of the bottle on my head! That aside, literally after 5 mins he was done and asked if I am happy. Hair everywhere were uneven. I have politely explained that it seems uneven and asked to make adjustments. After the haircut, the barber did not even bother to blow-dry the hair and I had to ask to shape and dry the hair myself. Charged me $35 for a 15 min poor job!Once I got home and washed my hair, found that in many places there were spots of long hair! He also somehow bruised a spot behind my right ear.Response to the owner Serge:I had a haircut on 11th of May in the afternoon. Barber didnt tell me his name, it was a black man with long hair. There were only 2 barbers working at the time of my visit. One closer to the entrance (the one who serviced me) and one further at the back.
I always have a good experience. Theres hardly ever a wait time and if there is its not very long. Centrally located and easy to get. Plenty of parking available. Id definitely recommend to anyone looking to get a fresh cut!
The 1960s flourescent tube lighting fixtures hang high above the grey brown floor that appears dirtier than it actually is. The harsh light clashes with the yellow walls and generally makes everything look unattractive. My stylist arrived by bicycle and entered the shop after locking it just outside the front window. Once inside he welcomed me to his chair and flipped the power switch on his somewhat dull bladed electric clippers. He did not wash or sanitize his hands. 5 minutes later he was finished. He charged me $5 more than the menu price stated. Additionally, the cut was much shorter than I had asked for. On the up side he was pleasant and had a comforting vibe.
Great experience.Serge gave us a haircut. We will be back for sure.
Great Barbershop good customer service...
Serge is the absolute best barber. Hes been cutting my sons hair since he was 2 years old, and has always been so patient, professional, skilled and genuinely nice. Ive followed him from his previous shop, and now Im happy to see him open this beautiful new space. I would highly recommend this place.
This is my favorite barber in DC. The owner is a local guy named Serge, and he is excellent. Hes open late (I go after work), and Im very happy with his work. Ive been going to him for years. My favorite part is that I dont have to tell him what tools to use, I just give him a general idea of how I like my hair cut, and he does the rest. After the first time, I never had to tell him again. He hasnt forgotten, and now gives me my favorite haircut each time.
This is the best barber in DC, hands down. Serge used to cut my hair at Carls on 14th/P NW and then he recently opened his own shop here on Penn Ave. It was a no-brainer to keep him as my barber. He is very professional, the cut is always precisely what I want, and he always has a smile on his face. The shop already has solid hours and once he hires a few more barbers, this shop will truly expand its reach and service. If you are looking for a barber, look no further. This is it.
Serges is a great barber and I am always happy to leave him a good tip because he knows just what to do once I walk in. The new website is looking good as well. There I can book appointments, and check relevant pricing informations. Thanks for establishing in this neighborhood!
Very nice barber shop. Highly recommended. Ask for Serves.
Great service, wonderful haircut. Outstanding new space and attention to detail!
Dont let the minimalist furnishing fool you. Good haircut. Serge was exacting.
