Not really one to post a review unless I am blown away. I needed a haircut and I went online to see if I could find some good Barbershops in DC. I saw that this barbershop was highly rated so I figured I would try it out and I have to say that was not disappointed at all! I showed up a little early to the appointment and they kindly greeted and told me to have a seat. I got a cut from Michael and he did me right! Asked me what I wanted and then consulted along the way to make sure I got what I wanted...and I left with more. If you are in need of a cut then make it your mission to stop by and get it at Barbers of St James, London because they will have you looking right!
First time costumer, usually not the type to leave a review but I felt compelled to after receiving both excellent service and haircut. Francesco was very friendly and made sure to ask me every step of the way if I was okay with what he was doing. It’s hard to find a good barber place when you move so I’m glad I was able to find them. Highly recommend to anyone looking to find a new place!
I needed a barber to shape up my undercut as I was visiting DC from out of town. Their service was spectacular. My barber was very attentive to my needs and made sure I didn’t leave the chair until I was fully satisfied with my cut. Would highly recommend this establishment!
Finding a new barber after moving can always be tough, but I am so glad I stumbled upon this place. Francesco is the man, he works very clean and efficiently, and kept checking in with me throughout to make sure that I was happy with everything. Definitely going to start becoming a regular here!
I really love coming there. Francesco does a great job every time. Level of professionalism is exceptional. I will be back for sure.
Francesco is the best barber in town!! I have been getting my haircut from him for 5 years and I have always loved it. Definitely recommended.
This place is a great haircut shop. Ask for Francesco and you wont go wrong. He knows what he is doing and has been doing this a very long time. I have been using him for the past year and my haircut is phenomenal every time. I would not think of going anywhere else.
Francesco did an amazing job. I have very sensitive skin and he did not cut me once during the shave. Haircut was great too!
Great haircut by Thomas. First-time customer, but I will definitely be back for the excellent service, convenient location, and ease with making appointments.
Great experience! Very professional! My hair looks great and they made it a very enjoyable experience.
Ive recently moved here to DC from Atlanta and have been looking for a new barber shop and finally Ive found it! The past two experiences have been great! Rick took care of me this most recent visit and I couldnt of had a better time. Cut my hair to perfection and had a great time talking shop with him and everyone else in the store. Im really looking forward to going back for my next visit. Keep up the good work guys!
Rudy was amazing!!! Great haircut for my son. Listened to exactly what we wanted, my son was very pleased.
The haircut I got from Francesco is the best Ive had in town. Highly recommend!
I got a last minute beard trim with Marithe. She did an incredible job and my beard hasn’t looked this good in a long time. I’d highly recommend Barbers of St. James to anyone.
I’ve been living in DC for 6 years and visited several barbers without being able to get a decent cut. When I found Francesco over a year ago, my problems were solved! Francesco is an amazing barber and really knows what he’s doing! Best barber I’ve had in DC!
Francesco has been cutting my hair for years and always does an amazing job. The shop is clean and up scale, good experience overall. Definitely would recommend.
Mike is an excellent barber. I would definitely go back.
Looking at reviews I was expecting a very high quality service. unfortunately its not the right place for important beard trim. My beard was destroyed i have to grow it back from the beginning (it was almost one year old beard). The service was high quality and the personel very kind tough.
Francesco will take very good care of you. Very professional, a clean cut, great to talk to. Highly recommended.
I had a haircut with Michael. He was very kind and professional. I liked the experience.
I came in for a haircut thinking I was going to get a decent haircut. The guy took 7 minutes in total to complete the haircut. He completely messed up leaving me with a messed up haircut. He then said sorry but he didn’t know how to cut hair. What is wrong with this barbershop. If I could give them a lawsuit I would
Michael did an amazing job on my hair cut! One of the very few barbers that can execute exactly what you are looking for. Professional, friendly and very detailed on his work.
Finally!Ive been living in DC for 3 years, and visited about 8 or 9 hairdressers mostly in Georgetown. A few of them were way too expensive for literally just a haircut, but that area was the closest, and I also thought that salons even if they are expensive, at least should be professional. I was absolutely wrong.I was fed up, so just googled other options one day, that is how I luckily bumped into Francesco! Mission accomplished! Grazie mille! :))
From out of state, hands down one of the best experiences. Blair hooked me up with a beard trim and shaved the head. His attention to details is spot on! For sure my barbershop while traveling to DC.
Michael is probably the best/most most professional barber I’ve been to. 100% would recommend.
Had another great Haircut here. Blair was very detailed and did an excellent job. My new favorite barbershop in the Area.
Francesco from Italy did a great job with an all-scissors haircut, I left the Barbers of London feeling like Gucci !
Everyone here was great! They were a fun time and gave me a great haircut!
Great haircut with Francisco today. Wonderfully relaxing.
Best haircut. Very experienced barber. Got a modern mullet and love it.
Very professional, very nice and works fast, best place in DC for good fast and crisp cuts, fully recommended; Pantea is the barber to go!
Great attention to detail! Was able to have a walk-in and great service. 10/10 would recommend!
Great service. Quick and tidy. Friendly staff. Love this place!!
Got my haircut from Pantea, she did an amazing job! Very professional and nice to talk to. I definitely recommend getting your haircut here.
Francesco did good work. Exactly how I liked it.
Pantea was the best - Ill be back soon!
Great clean service. Blair was friendly and attentive. Did a really good job. I am extremely satisfied.
Great and clean haircut, calming vibe, and friendly staff. What more to ask for in a great barber shop?
I got a haircut from Michael. He was very nice and the haircut was great!
One of the best (and fastest) haircuts Ive ever had. A+
Im a regular here after trying half a dozen barber shops around town. Why do I stay? Friendly service, ideal location, consistently on time and available, always clean with COVID precautions, and fun chatter. Most importantly, though, is I get a great cut. Even when it hasnt been ideal with some of the past barbers, the team have always been willing to fix it or make adjustments. Pantea (the manager) is clearly a trained pro, listens to what you need, and always leaves me with a well-crafted cut and a great conversation. Highly recommended - I did the trial and error elsewhere so hopefully the rest of you dont have to.
Easy to book, no wait. Great haircut.
Decent haircut but not $45 decent
Pantea was great. Friendly and professional. Definitely recommend!
Very friendly staff and was able to cut my hair to exactly what I was looking for.
Panthea is a great barber. She provides a perfect balance. A classic barber experience, with a contemporary sensibility that delivers a great shave and cut every time.
So glad I picked this place for my first haircut this year. I’ve been under lockdown in Los Angeles and barber shops have been shut down since March. I had a great time talking to the guys and love what they did with my hair. Strongly recommend Barbers of London.
$45 for a buzz cut, no fade. Good old school feel, but not enough for the price.
Without doubt the worst haircut of my life. The man is totally incompetent and butchered my hair and then charged me $45. Instead of him moving around the chair, he kept on spinning the chair around with me in it. And you cant see what hes doing because the mirrors are too high. Avoid this place at all costs. I had to go somewhere else to get it fixed.
I received a shave and a haircut. It is the best haircut I have received in a very long time and the overall experience was amazing. I would definitely recommend it!
Thomas was awesome!
This is a great barbershop! It has a great look and environment. It has that classic old school kind of a barbershop feel and look instead of what you get with a salon. The staff is really great! My stylist was Pantae, who did an excellent job cutting my hair. She’s also a great conversationalist and created a very enjoyable experience. The price is very reasonable for a DC establishment. My haircut was $45.00. Booking was easy through the website, and the system gave me reminders of my appointment through texts. The appointment was at 12:00 and Pantae was ready to go on time. Overall, five stars, great experience. Highly recommend!
They charge premium prices but provide substandard service. The owner does not wear a mask as he cuts hair and seems not to take any precautions for covid-19 at all. During my visit, I had to wait 20 mins despite having an appointment because my barber (who is the owner) was taking a nap in the waiting area. Right before he started working on me, he let me know that he hadn’t slept at all the previous night. Not a great thing to hear from someone wielding sharp objects inches from your face.I also did not get the haircut I asked for, but didn’t want to stick around in the tiny shop any longer with the unmasked barber so I just paid and left. I won’t be returning.
I have had several great experiences at St James, and its worth putting my approval on the record:I have gone to several barber shops across Washington DC and this is by FAR my favorite. They have great music, welcoming people, and there is a gentleman from Texas named Blair who knows how to cut my hair perfectly. If I am dropping money on a haircut, I want it to be done just right and never once has Blair or this barber shop let me down. Not only with me, but I have seen Blair take his job seriously and treat his clients with the respect and appreciation they deserve. Its no wonder he has so many repeat guests requesting for specifically for him.Highly recommend Barbers of St. James, and encourage you to go see Blair if he is available!
Had a wonderful experience this afternoon at Barbers of London in DC. I don’t live too close to this barbershop, but it was worth the drive for me. Rudy and Pantea (my barber) were very welcoming, and Pantea did an awesome job in a surprisingly short amount of time—couldn’t have asked for a better barber. 🙇🏻♂️🙇🏻♂️🙇🏻♂️ Really recommend this place... and I definitely plan on going again when I need a haircut again...in 6 months 😅😂🤣 (hopefully sooner than that).
Friendly and clean.. little expensive..but the haircut was good..I would recommend to fellow coworkers
Fantastic experience! Clean, orderly appearance, and the old fashioned English vibe fits perfectly. Pantea did a fabulous job on the cut!
My husband just went for a haircut and it is the worst haircut I have seen. The woman used a technique to thin his thick hair out that left little shaved patches all over his head when his hair blows a certain way. When you run your fingers through his hair there are small patches of hair underneath that feel spiky and shaved as if some pieces were cut super close to the scalp and some were left long.
From the moment you walk in the door, it is a wonderful experience. The barber and the young lady who work there are very sweet, and always polite. I get my cut done by Alphonso, he always does a fantastic job and I dont even tell him what to do because he already knows what will look good. I HIGHLY recommend Alphonso, but you cant go wrong with any of the barbers at this shop. The price is worth every cent because of the service, the quality of the cut, and the true barbershop feel. Definitely go here if you want to look sharp next time you need a haircut.
Worst haircut ever not professional
Really chill barber and did everything I asked
Cool place, very professional 👍
Tina gave me an amazing haircut and beard trim. She took her time to make sure every line was perfect. Highly recommend this barber!
Great experience would definitely recommend
So I had a haircut here 7 or so months ago and the experience was great. However my most recent haircut was terrible. The old staff were no longer there and I am not sure the lady knew anything about doing a fade. It was so bad I went to a different barber at a place called (HIS) and they were able to fix the mistakes. The barber there said he couldn’t believe what was done and it looked like the person didn’t know how to cut hair. I will never be returning to barbers of London.
Very cool old school vibe with the decor and smooth jazz tunes.Great cuts, awesome beard trims. All of the barbers area stellar but cannot recommend my man Adrian enough!
Great haircut, got exactly what I wanted.
They were super accommodating and their price of $45 is clearly listed, which I was glad to see given some of the other comments. Yeah, it’s a pricier haircut, but they did a really good job and I’d definitely pay a premium to know that the haircut I’m about to receive isn’t going to be a total hack job. Will be back for sure
Small place. I did like the haircut
Disappointed with both my haircut and beard trim/shave for what it cost. The fade on the left side had a distinct line and was not blended, and the right side looked different than the left. When I got home I noticed hairs behind my ears and neck that my girlfriend had to fix. I think they took their time, and tried but didnt follow the directions I gave. Overall, it was not worth paying $100 ($86 - haircut and shave plus tip; yes, I still tipped- Im a decent person) .
Great service & nice barbers
I rarely feel the need to write reviews, however I had an incredible experience here the other day, and I felt that its the least I could do.I actually showed up a few minutes late for my appointment and Pani was more than welcoming, even with my tardiness. She was absolutely professional, and made me feel welcomed as this was my first time there.Since I travel for work, I dont always get back to the same salons/barber shops often, however, I will ABSOLUTELY be back to visit Pani whenever Im in D.C.My cut and trim were flawless, she did exactly what I wanted, and I asked her for some advice, and her advice was perfect as well. She was sincere, and she went above and beyond.Barbers of London D.C., Im in customer service and traveling sales, and you have an absolute rockstar talent at your business. Thanks Pani, and Barbers of London, I will absolutely be back!
Very professional, friendly, inexpensive, and fast!
One of the best haircuts ive ever had.
Best haircut I have had in years!
Awesome haircut! Walked in and provided perfect cut! Good conversation, great atmosphere! Highly recommend!!
They misrepresent themselves as a Truefitt & Hill barber shop but they are not, they are just some other cheesy barbershop. Dont be fooled, go elsewhere!
My experience here had the class and luxury that one can expect from any Truefitt & Hill location, but was also met with the freshness and friendliness of my barber Joshua. Despite being open for so little time, this location has the potential to last just as long as their UK counterpart. If I could give a sixth star I would!
Great hair cut, just not sure if hair cut, beard trim is worth a $100 bucks. Maybe my country butt is just cheap but that was most expensive hair cut ever. Great staff and service just not sure about pricing.
Great haircut experience! Great prices. Friendly barbers.
I had a nice haircut here. Thanks a lot to Thomas. He is so patient and skillful👍
Jacob is terrific. One of the best in DC. The shop itself is very small, but it has a nice old-school vibe.
Good service, pricey.
Haircut was average staff was nice clean shop....but 75 dollars is way to much for a haircut honestly ....there should be a sign that says that....I work very hard for my money and dont appreciate feeling like Im being taken advantage of .....I just wish I would have known ahead of time how much they charge so I could have went somewhere else..I normally pay 30-40 but 75 is outrageous ...thats bad business
Very friendly, attentive, and skilled staff, and a selection of shaving products of a quality that you just cant get from US manufacturers.
Great service! Excellent haircut.
This place is Great ! Came into town to attend a Marine retirement ceremony, of a friend of mine, and had to do a walk in here ..Had my hair cut by a former Marine, and he did a spectacular job ! Highly recommend this place!
Best haircut Ive ever gotten
Id like to think of myself as a bit of a Afficionado in hot lather shaves their haircuts and shaves highly recommended reasonable pricing
Very good shop and very professional.
Just got a haircut and shoe shine. Great place, great location!
TRUEFITT & HILLWas in Washington DC for my Graduation for my MBA on the 9th of June, 2018 and needed an haircut for the ceremony. I stayed at Grand Hyatt which was 0.1 miles way from the barbershop.I made an appointment with a young lady over the phone for 1030 and was there 5mins earlier for my Haircut. At about 1035 /1040 two Caucasians walked in for an appointment for 1045. At about 1047, Josh (African American / Mixed Race barber) and Caucasian barber finished cutting their client. And the unthinkable happen. Once Josh (barber) finished cutting is client he engaged him in a lengthy (5 - 7mins) discussion to buy some time so that another barber will cut me. The next barber (Caucasian) looked up the system and notified me he would be cutting Justin because he had already made appointment to cut him (Which was false) @ 1045. After the 2nd barber (Josh) knew he had no option but to give me, he walked up to me & told me that the 3rd barber (African American) would cut me and that he was cutting the other 1045 appointee (Client).A short argument between the two barber exuded, the 3rd barber (African American) told the 2nd Barber (Josh) that I already selected him to cut me. I immediately corrected him that I told Josh I had an appointment for 1030.Although the 3rd barber apologized for his misconception, I simply couldnt understand why I would pay $86 for a haircut ($45) / beard trim ($41) and be pushed around just because they had the perception and stigmatizing of a certain Race. It was evident they judged me before knowing me.To cut the story short I simply cancelled my appointment and worked out of the barbershop at about 1050, went to Walgreen around the corner, got a clipper and had my haircut myself in my hotel and headed for my MBA Graduation Ceremony (started at 1230) at 1250.I was totally disappointed and wonder why the dislike and selection of customers, to be candid the management of this brand should reorientate their staffs (Like Starbucks) on how to treat every customer with equality and not by skin color before they lose their brand name.
The service and ability of the barber (Jacob) is most definitely worth the price.
Excellent Customer Service, great ambience and respectful atmosphere. First time visiting and became the only one from now on.
$86 for a haircut and beard trim. Totally uneven. I had to find and pay another barber to fix it.
Impeccable service and craftsmanship. Huge fan.
Good trim!
Great haircut and amazing service
Great haircut!!!
