Cuts by Hugo is the best kept secret for haircuts in downtown DC. The guys are super professional and friendly. The location is inside the National Press building on the second floor (a bit tricky to find) but its well worth the visit. Thanks Hugo for all the years of professional haircuts.

I’ve been to most barbershops in DC, including the “top tier” ones, and I still find myself coming back to Cuts by Hugo. They do awesome fades with immense attention to detail and precision. All of that for a low fee...and they’re always on time. Seriously, give Hugo a shot - you will not be disappointed.

They did a great job with my hair.Its 4 stars instead of 5 simply because when I left I had a lot of cut hair on my forehead and I didnt notice it until later. I wish they had done a better job at cleaning up or warned me...But the haircut itself was really good, especially considering thats its cheap considering the average prices in DC and the location

Definitely the best high class barber shop in the city!Though certainly more pricey than your average haircut, Cuts by Hugo is certainly worth the cost not only for the haircut itself, but the friendly staff and atmosphere. Their services are phenomenal and I highly recommend anyone whos looking for a quality haircut to come on through!

There was only one barber working on a Saturday, so the wait was quite long, and the barber wasnt sociable.Even after specifically requesting no hard lines, the barber gave me a misshapen line-up far into my hairline. However, he did do an excellent job at tapering.If not for the horrendous line-up, I would have been pleased with the haircut. But alas, I had a very disappointing experience.

Ive gone through 4 or 5 different barbers who just couldnt get it right. Most if not all of the barbers in this area (Alexandria-DC) cut hair military style, real short and tight. I like some style. I like some hair on my head without having to pay $50+ at a salon or upscale hair studio.Hugos shop is by far the best thing around in an affordable price range. You will not be disappointed.

Hugo is the best. Great haircut for $35. Get lots of compliments whenever I have it cut there. Listens to you when you say how much hair you want cut. Also will trim eyebrows and nose hair (pardon the grossness, but wanted to be informative) upon request.

Excellent service, free drinks while you wait. Seville is a friendly manager. Promptly texts you the appointment confirmation. Francis is a good barber. TV to watch sports in comfortable chairs. Short walk from the Metro.

Went there spontaneously, was lucky to get immediately served, got an awesome haircut - including neck, no washing - for fair $35 (+tip, cash only).Dont know the name of the barber, but he was a bit older and from Paraguay (perhaps Hugo himself?).I just wanted to get a nice short haircut, and he did a great job. Was cutting my hair thoroughly and carefully, just like one would wish. Its almost unfortunate that I dont live close to DC, otherwise I would have found my regular barber.Why this long review? Because I felt like giving him a higher tip than I had cash on me.

I just got my first Cut by Hugo, and it was terrific - the guy who worked on me was super nice, friendly, and efficient. I was in and out of there in 20 minutes, and got a great buzz! Stoked to have a barbershop I can trust to make me look my best when I am in DC.

Not good. A friend commented about how my haircut looked sloppy. This business doesn’t accept credit card (cash only) and nothing is posted on the front door or on the price list. It was inconvenient and an extra hassle for the customer to go get cash from an ATM (an extra cost too). The prices aren’t very good and things like a post-haircut shampoo will cost you more. I definitely NOT come back to here. Avoid this place!

Cuts by Hugo is a cozy establishment that just open in DC. Richard does a wonderful cut. I left looking like a new person. I got nothing but compliments from strangers. If you want a good haircut ask for Richard.

Best haircuts and best barbers in the area. No pressure, catch a game on the tv while you sit, and walk out looking sharp. Building lobby is being renovated but you can take the elevator to the second floor, Hugo is opposite the food court. After renovations hell be downstairs
