Downside: the stylists work perhaps *too* fast, so dont expect top quality or great attention to detail.They charge $30 for a simple mens cut, so it is not particularly cheap either - especially since they only accept cash. IRS, take notice!

My favorite barbershop! Always a good cut, whether Leo or one of his excellent associates is doing the cut. A good cut, reasonable price, easy access in the Van Ness neighborhood, and friendly faces, with plenty of pandemic protocols. Simply no better spot for a cut, for me or my Little One! Also great with kids!! Just got my first real pandemic cut and it felt like coming home.

This is a friendly neighborhood barbershop drawing upon the skills of the owners extended families. My favorite barber is Lynn, but if she is not available, I dont hesitate to go to others. Ive never had a bad haircut here. The cost is very reasonable so I always tip with great appreciation.

Clean to the extreme. Appointment was easy and the chair was waiting. All was clean and orderly. No concerns with the way the shop was dealing with covid-19 risks. And the haircut was as good as any I have had in years. I will be back.

The staff was professional and friendly. My barber clearly cared very much about every aspect of my cut, and even shaved my neck (with great skill). I will definitely be back any time I need a cut. This place is a gem. While I have my favorites, everyone that’s cut my hair here has been great. Everyone is super friendly and efficient. The prices are typical for the area. The only cons are that there is no check-in system so you have to figure out yourself where you are in line, and it’s cash-only which in today’s world can be an inconvenience.

Ive been going here for years. The staff is very professional and nice and dont waste your time with small talk unless you want them to. Ive had my hair cut by everyone there and the service and quality is the same no matter who does the job. Good price for a haircut especially in this area and especially for a full service haircut. The only downside is that they only accept cash, but the upside is that tax is already included in the price. A 20 dollar haircut is 20 dollars, not 21.14.

Talk about a great place to get your haircut. The service is quick, and the employees are all friendly. For only $18 this place is a bargain. Ive never been a big fan of places where there is a need to talk the entire time and the staff here will talk to you if you want but most of the time its just small talk and they get the job done. I think the best part is that they use a straight razor on the back of your neck. Bottom line, if you need a haircut, go to the Cut N Edge and you will not leave disappointed.

Unfortunate update: I stopped going here altogether. The place was dead midweek at midday. I was the only person there with three staff in the shop. My usual barber said hed rather eat his lunch than work. I get that. Id rather have lunch than work, too. But I also wont be back.

I went here to accompany my 6 year old boy who was going to have a haircut today. I ended up getting one for myself as well. I am very impressed by this guy that did the haircut for both of us. Very good at his job but also a great conversationalist.

Beware to those of African ancestry of any kind- these barbers do not like to cut ethnic hair!!!The haircut I received was fair quality, maybe a 7/10, but not nearly worth the high price.The service I received was discriminatory in nature. I was sent to the woman who works there. She started speaking in her native language and clearly sounded mad or at least not happy. She was pointing at my hair while talking to another barber. She wouldnt even touch my hair. The guy she was talking to came over after they had an exchange for over a minute and told me he would cut my hair. Hmmm...Im fairly certain this had to do with me being half African American. Ive never had that happen before and Ive even had my hair cut in Ukraine! She clearly did not want to cut my hair or touch it. It was really really awkward, but I needed a haircut and had just moved to DC. This was a block from my place so I chose it based on reviews and proximity. Maybe its best to pick a different place if you have ethnic hair to avoid an awkward situation.

I go regularly. Nice place, nice people and they do an efficient job of cutting my hair. However, today the barber completely murdered my beard. Ignored my requests to keep it long, used the head clippers and chopped so much off. Weeks of growing and work had gone into my beard to get it to the length it was at and now I have to go through an untidy period of re-growth again. Im so annoyed I might not go back.Short story: be very cautious of the beard cutting skills here but head hair is fine.

Just went there for the first time for an emergency haircut for my preschooler - it was a tremendously great experience: friendly, fast, great with kids, and they totally know what they are doing. Went there for the first time as I recently moved. Just for a simple hair cut/shave (to 1.5 with a razor and so should be simple). Ended up with a bald spot at the back of my head. Also razor was painful, probably old. Still hurts a day after the shave. Will definitely be going back to my old barber although it is further from my house.

I went to college and moved around the area and would occasionally go see her back in Gburg.We lost touch and then I ran into her here years later. She still remembered how to cut my hair, and shes the only one who knows how to do it.She cut my hair and groomed me for my wedding...and later that night I saw her as my guest. Shes my barber and friend.All the other barbers here are pretty bad ass too!

Not suitable for African-American hair. -Asked for a line-up and he barely touched up my hair line. Charged me for a haircut when I asked for and received a shape up. I also called ahead of time and they said werent busy. Headed over (5 min walk)and there wasnt a single seat to even inside. Only redeeming quality is the short wait and many barbers working.

Hair cut wasnt bad, but it wasnt great either. The guy didnt follow what I asked him to do as closely as I would have liked. Also, they do not accept card.
