I want to thank Mrs Sharon Crenshaw at Washington Apartments for her kindness in helping me complete a complicated applicationI would not have been able to accomplish this task as expeditiously without her. This is Gabriella Martin Thank you very much..
Overall i have live on this property for over 30+ years i recently just move in the unit that i am in now in 2018 cause of property issues . But i am very happy the property is kept up. The Staff is very friendly and helpful and Maintenance issues are resolved in a timely manner and the maintenance staff here is pretty darn good I believe in being clean courteous neighbor and hope all neighbors share the same sentiment
Washington Apartments is a great place to live! Spacious apartments with clean hardwood floors, convenient laundry and the best location you can ask for in central DC. Building management staff is super friendly, supportive and helpful whenever needed. Ive really enjoyed living here.
I’ve lived here for almost a year and have had a great experience. The leasing office has been helpful and accommodating, which is something I haven’t found at other apartments. Janice in particular has been fantastic from the moment I met her—friendly, caring, and made me feel safe and at home. Always answers my calls, emails, and works with me on any issues that come up. The apartment itself is good—good price and great location.
I lived here for about two and a half years. The location is perfectly convenient. The apartment is clean and comfortable. Leasing officers are kind and helpful. This is a good place in DC.
I lived here back in 2017. The apartments were nice, definitely a good deal for the relatively low rent. The front desk was quite helpful and maintenance was responsive.
Ive lived here for about six months and loved it. The welcome process was terrific (Janice, the leasing agent, is the best) and the location is excellent. My favorite part may be the families that live here - unlike some parts of D.C., the apartments are multi-generational. The building management does an excellent job with the basics, so the apartments are affordable and comfortable. The usual problems of any building are handled quickly, too, and with a human touch. Id definitely recommend it to a friend.
Lots of graffiti, the property is not maintained or repaired and it is quite unfair to residents. One gentleman yells at pedestrians imploring them for cigarettes from his patio at all hours of the night. Really odd stuff. The drivers from their parking lot tend to speed when entering and exiting, which is not that great either...
For the first time in my rental history, I cried. I had THE hardest time saying goodbye to Leasing Manager Janice Spinner when I vacated my apartment. Janice and I hit it off when I serendipitously stumbled across Washington Apartments 2 years ago. So much so we hugged when we said goodbye! Hugging became our thing. Then COVID hit. Safety is a top priority for Washington Apartments, as evidenced by flyers distributed about COVID, hurricane preparedness, etc. Residents are well informed about everything going on! From the start, Janice took care of me as she does for all the residents. She pointed out local points of interest, such as the Giant and restaurants, during my tour. Janice sold me on Washington Apartments! Other residents feel the same way, she knows us by NAME! Shes the face of the complex! Besides Janice, and the other helpful staff, I loved living there. I was happy, safe and the location was amazing! With tears welling up as I handed in my keys, Janice asked if I wanted a hug. Thankfully my mask contained my tears instead of soaking her shoulder while she held me. I hadnt hugged Janice since March! If Im ever sent back to DC, I would highly consider returning to Washington Apartments; its all because of Janice.
Had a great time living here! Janice is so amazing and made us feel at home right away. The parking is super inexpensive. They even have a resident referral program where they take $ off your rent when you get someone new to move in. Washington Apartments is walking distance to everything. Great place to live.
I lived here for the past 1.75 years and could not speak more highly of it. Cheapest parking Ive found in DC, shouting distance to a metro stop, two blocks south of the nicest grocery store in DC, pet friendly, and a decent size to boot. The leasing office is incredibly friendly and there for you no matter what you need. If I still lived in DC I would still be living here
I have lived at Washington apartments for a little over two years. Lets be honest: we would all like to live in brand new buildings without roommates, but this is DC and its not affordable. This complex lacks some of the amenities of newer buildings, but makes up for it in location and price. Units are homey and management is friendly, accommodating, and has a quick response time.
My friends and I found this place at a really great time before school started. The leasing office was accommodating with issues we had when we first moved in. Despite the roach issue (because its DC) the apartment does its best to respond to the concerns of their residents and provide the appropriate services. The employees in the leasing office are very friendly and answer all questions. Its a good place to live especially for my friends and I who go to school and work close to here.
I have lived in Washington Apartments for just over a year and have been quite satisfied with the services and amenities. The rates are fair and the location is unbeatable, right in the heart of the city. The grounds and the apartments themselves are clean and well maintained by a friendly staff. Barring any unforseen complications, I would hope to continue living here.
Terrible
I moved to this location 5 months ago and I love It! Its in a prime location and the agents in the leasing office were professional and respectful! Thank you!
Great location to shops, restaurants, and grocery stores! Management is very responsive with emails to any concerns, and the gated parking is great to have since the streets tend to get a little busy, especially on the weekends.
Its infested with mice. Weve killed three in our kitchen over the past three months. Were very clean because of the mice, but they keep coming back. On a good note, the building provides traps with some kind of bait that really works.
Ive been living here for two years. Im this apartment because all service providers are helpful, particularly Janice; she is friendly and easy going.
Besides the predictably poor management and lack of follow through in leasing office, they will ignore your emails and calls when the time comes for your security deposit to be refunded. I would advise going in person to office when trying to collect any monies from them - that way they cant straight up hide from you. They must be counting on young people / families just leaving without remembering or expecting security deposit back. I do not pretend to understand the lurid and conniving minds behind this operation.
The actual apartments are not bad, however the management had some communication and organization problems early on. The first month my roommate and I set up an auto payment system where we gave authorization to use our bank accounts to take out the rent each month. That month, my roommates account was double charged and the management told him that he would have to dispute it with his bank to get the money back, the apartment would not refund it. The next month, we received a notice on the tenth of that month that the apartments had transitioned to a new payment system and were no longer accepting the previous recurrent payments. We were not emailed or called and there was no notice in the mail; the only notice was a door notice on the tenth of the month, by which time my roommate and I had left for a short break. After we returned there were late charges and we paid the rent immediately on the new system. One month later, without any notification from the apartment, we receive an eviction notice from the court, despite the fact that I had gone in person and made sure there was no outstanding balance from the managements end the previous month and despite the fact that a zero balance was shown both from the month of October and at the beginning of November when we paid our rent on their new system.Other than these problems, the apartment are in a good location and the staff is fairly helpful.
Great value for the price -- very accessible to the metro and walkable to plenty of bars/restaurants/downtown areas. Janice in the leasing office is particularly kind and helpful -- saved me more than once when I was locked out.
Washington apartments is the far most of the worst place to live its not safe for ur children they more comfortable with pets then us... They want ur children to play in a bad play area they took up the playground an dont want to sit out on ur front.. They have an outstanding number of roaches and mice they dont do their job.. Place dont live in these apartments
DO NOT LIVE HERE. Leasing office doesnt do their job. They dont reply to e-mails or return calls. Lived there over one year with this constant problem. Have followed up about some issues 3-4 times with no responses. Can only get answers/assistance if you go into the office (by the way, the leasing office hours do not follow their website or phone message), and even then youre greeted with annoyance and rudeness.
This place is the worst place to live under the new management they have a dog park but have no place for your children to play so they advice u to take your child to the neighborhood playground where there have been multiple shootings so they are ok with providing a safe place for dogs to go to the bathroom but not for children to play they actually removed the playground for the dog I find this absurd
Strategic location and the management is very responsive to any concern and questions regarding the apartment
