A nice gym for sure. The equipment is nice and always in working condition minus maybe the very rare and few times a machine has gone down. Sauna and pool are nice and clean to use. Staff is friendly and attentive to your needs. Compared to other gyms in Waldorf, this is the best.

I wish I could give this gym 0 stars. Everyone there from the sales manager to the operations manager make it nearly impossible to cancel your membership. They will offer you what at first seems like a good deal but at the last minute will go back on their word just to prolong your membership meaning paying more. Walking into this facility, the first thing you see are cubicles with a sales team that is ready to scam you out of your money. Seeing that should have been the first red flag as not once I have never been to a gym with a section of cubicles solely designed for negotiating a gym membership. Nonetheless, this gym is a complete scam and you will probably be better off going somewhere like Planet Fitness or anywhere else for that matter.

Pushy General Manager, location is average compared to other facilities. No basketball or racquet ball courts and the pool is just average. Tried to push me to join when I wanted to use the 5 day pass to check things out. They need to practice better customer service.

This gym could be so much better. They find any reason to close early. What gym closes at 6pm on a Saturday??? They closed early on Easter without any notice. Im highly irritated with these hours. Members need to get together and sign a petition for a change in club hours.

I was torn on my review rating because I go to this gym and I like it, but the new GM Damien, needs a new attitude. I believe this new title is getting to his head. I gave the location two stars because I figured it would get the attention of someone higher than him.On 01/28/2021 i was threatened that he would revoke my membership if I take a sanitizing bottle from the trainer section. I called his bluff and asked him to come with me to the front to revoke it because I can’t see LA fitness revoking a $40 monthly membership over me taking 1 out of 7 sanitizing bottles that were over there especially when there were no more sanitizing bottles in the front. He never came with me to revoke my membership, but making empty threats isn’t the way to scare someone especially when they pay their money for a service and your threat is unrealistic.At approximately 8:51pm I walked over to grab the a bottle because there were no more in the front (previously mentioned). No one was being trained at that time or I obviously would’ve never went over there. He says to me “are you part of the trainer program?” I was confused and had my music on, but I answered “no.” He replied “then you can’t be over here at all”... I started to put the bottle down and the cleaning girl (who was so nice and honestly does a great job everyday) tries to lighten the mood and says “don’t let him scare you, take a bottle” I laughed because I thought he was joking I responded “oh I’m not scared, I’m still going to use it... no one is being trained and you close in a hour” he says “do it again and we’ll revoke your membership.” At this point I’m upset and I’m sure the energy for my workout will be thrown off, but I made time to ask him multiple times to please go cancel my membership because corporate would never hear the end or this. I’ll go to Walmart and buy you 40 sanitizing bottles instead of giving mymonthly $40 to the corporation if you’d like.I’m so confused because over a sanitizing bottle, would LA Fitness cancel a membership of a valuable customer? I come in, greet staff,do my workout and leave. I’m actually shocked and this is the prime example of what happens when you give someone power who has never had it before. They TRY to intimidate people. I honestly think there needs to be clarification on power in your role.

They keep it clean and I love the pool. Just 3 lanes and not deep but I can swim laps.

This is a fairly new LA Fitness and the location is excellent because theyre lots of other stores and restaurants nearby. Because it is so new, the equipment is an outstanding condition and everything looks good.lock the new LA Fitness locations, this one has a lap pool and the locker areas have a sauna as well.

Great facility, staff is nice, because of COVID only limited services are available. Lots of cleaning supplies are available, and staff are seen regularly wiping surfaces.

Clean and easy accessible yet when machines break it takes an extremely long time for it to be repaired . There are two assisted pull up machines and one has been out of service for almost a year. Very inconvenient when the gym is busy .

I was told my training account would be put on hold. It was not. The director of the training department flat out lied to my face. They don’t care about you. They care about your money only. They have offered no flexibility in a time when many people are financially strained. I will never give another LA Fitness my money again. Especially not this location.

Nice spot,but too far

Overall I like the gym, equipment, availability of equipment, space, and cleanliness. I also met some cool faculty and staff there, as well as gym members like Kevin. I guess Im just concerned that L.A. Fitness, as a company, is still requiring its member to pay the same monthly fee with reduced ours and limited gym time... I have not been contacted about any concessions since COVID-19 happened in March.

Not Covid safeStaff doesnt even try to properly enforce mask policy and members are... unconcerned. Id avoid if you have a safer option during the pandemic.

It’s a good place to workout but unfortunately a guy his name is Damien is very rude to people and his behavior is very unprofessional. I left the gym just Becasue I didn’t receive the respect I deserved as a human beings. I definitely do not recommend anybody to sign up here, very very unprofessional 👎

During last 14 years I have been member of several gyms such as Gold Gym, Planet Fitness and UFC Gym. Before pandemic I decided to visit LA Fitness in Waldorf MD to see what that facility looks like, thinking to sign up unless I see something outrages, printed free pass and went to the gym. As soon as I walked in the LA Fitness in waldorf, MD, I was disappointed as it was, a first time, in my life, I visited a gym and a person at the front desk did not greet me. I dont think this is what owners of LA Fitness organization or any other organization would wanted. After I told the front desk person (young mix race, light skin, female) that I have free pass, she called someone on duty named Danarious stating the purpose of my visit, which was to use free pass. When manager Danarious approached, I restated the reason for my visit and he asked for my name and said that I called previously and asked me if I want to sign up for membership really quick. I said that I dont sign up for memberships really quick, I need to see what this gym is before I purchase membership for a year. The main reason why I visited this gym is because it has pool and was truly planning to purchase membership. The manager asked for my phone number and started calling me immediately. My phone was off, and I left it in my car as I was visiting gym (especially in Waldorf) and was planning to use pool. So the manager said that my phone is off, and Im wasting his time and I can leave.I dont think this type of customer service is acceptable and hope LA Fitness will take appropriate steps to keep people like Danarious away from its facilities and customers who pay to use gym.

I come every morning Monday through Friday and the gym stays pretty neat. The equipment is starting to show a little wear but that’s to be expected with the amount of people that come in and out. They are pretty good at fixing equipment that is broken which I appreciate a lot. The staff unfortunately is mediocre about everything, the purple haired desk attendance is super sweet though. The trainers are NOT friendly at all and don’t look the part. The presentation of them is not one that would cause me to ask for assistance. I would rather go to an external trainer. That saddens me because who wants to be inconvenienced, but you do what you must to get what you want. I started taking spin and I absolutely LOVE IT! The part that is unfortunate is; the morning teachers 5:45am lack enthusiasm, creativity, and fun. The classes are so boring, regimented, and empty.I really wish they would take reviews into consideration and make necessary changes so that the gym can improve.

Nice gym. Only things Id change would be bigger dumbbell area and the locker rooms could stand to be a little bit cleaner. However, I understand that its not necessarily the gyms fault, its hard to find good help. Regardless, the price is fair for all the amenities that come with the membership.

Johnny hooked me up with a really good deal.Got my wife and my son all able to go together for just under $60 a month. That’s 3 memberships for under $60! The gym it’s self could use a little TLC. Bathrooms always seem to be a more dirty than nessacary.

Great place to come and workout. They offer so much from spinning classes and a wide variety of all kinds of classes with great people training them and keeping it up beat throughout the class. I also love the swimming pool to get my laps and feels good. The workout equipment is top-notch as well. I love going to the sauna and sweating it out then topped off with a relaxing time in the hot tub. The place is so great that a lot of people come which is the only drawback that I can find is that there is too many people sometimes. But still I love going and will always be a member

Signed up to begin my fitness journey. Sales rep (Eli) presented all options so I could make a decision that was right for my family. Facility is clean, well organized and the staff were friendly and accommodating. Looking forward to getting started.

I love working with my trainer at the Waldorf location. Every since I started going to this facility, I have had the best service. Everyone is courteous and friendly. Its like a family atmosphere: the greeting I get when I come in, the concern for my health and exercise I do, and the encouragement I receive when I think I am not making progress. The personnel are professional, knowledgeable, and very kind hearted.

The staff at LA Fitness are warm, friendly and have always addressed any concerns I have had. Ivanka is a fun and upbeat instructor. Cathys yoga classes are wonderful! Full of spirit, enriched learning of yoga and a well balanced work out.

The members of this gym are rude as hell stop hogging more than one piece equipment you can only use one at a time. Also they need to hire a janitor that wants to work an clean this place up also the members need to learn how to help keep this place clean as well

Only major complaint is the overall cleanliness of the facility. Otherwise its all good. Lots of classes, hardly ever a wait to use equipment.

Good: Fantastic equipment, cleaning staff does a phenomenal job. Location is easily accessible and huge parking lot.Bad: Majority of patrons and staff (yes, you read that correctly) do not clean off the equipment their nasty sweaty bodies have been all over after they’re done. To add insult to injury hardly anyone re-racks their weights so you never know if someone is on a piece of equipment or not. (Again, staff included) Trainers seem more interested in filming themselves workout than taking care of their own workplace. Honestly embarrassed for them. Never seen anything like it.Good place to workout but be sure to disinfect everything you’re going to touch.

Always way too crowded. Went to try the aqua fit class and the instructor never showed and no explanation was given. Womens toilet area could be much cleaner.

5 stars for the convenient locations, which gives me flexibility as to where i work out.4 stars for the facilities compared to the cost you pay.Pool, sauna, jacuzzi (spa), weights, plated equipment, and other equipment. Great Value.3 stars for their outdated aerobic equipment. 15 year old stuff (at least dated technology) compared to the new stuff that has come out in the last 5 years.3 stars for cleanliness. The showers, locker room and spa need more help more frequently.2 stars for the lazy staff that only fill up the equipment wiping material (paper towels, soap and sanitizer) if you ask them repeatedly.2 stars for the staff. They get annoyed and want to lecture me for checking in 2 times. I TRACK MY TIME SO THAT I KNOW HOW MANY HOURS I SPENT AT THE GYM. Perhaps the staff should actually walk around see if they can provide training and technique tips, keep the paper towel dispensers filled, make sure the sauna is at 180`, clean the mud off the equipment etc. instead of wondering why i want to check in and out when i leave!I almost dropped this review to 2 stars because of their weekend hours: YOU NEED TO OPEN AT 5 AM ON SATURDAY AND SUNDAY!!!! (Currently they open at 8 AM; and with a 2 hour workout, this means that i am not finished with the gym and home until 10:30! way too much of my Saturday is burned up.)

Only giving 3 stars because the young man that signed me up was very nice and helpful. I was scheduled for a fitness assessment with Rasheen but woke up with a cold the morning of. I was informed the day I signed up that I didn’t have to show up for the fitness assessment if I changed my mind and that most people skip it. He called to ask if I was coming in and I had completely forgot about it so I told him no I wasn’t feeling up to it and he asked if I’d like to reschedule for the next day and I told him no because I didn’t think I’d be feeling any better the next day and he sounded irritated and asked if I was going to reschedule at all and I said not at this time and he immediately hung up on me. It was a very rude and immature reaction and it really turned me off to wanting to go in. If all employees act like that then I’m not sure if this is the right gym for me. If anything, I definitely won’t be using the personal trainer program.

Totally had to come on here and give a shout out to Kierra that works there in sales!!! She was sooo patient with me when I signed up. I was there over an hour trying to figure out the best option for me for my membership and honestly even contemplated signing up but she stuck it through and was a true professional. If you’re thinking to sign up, see her!! Also I love this gym because of the classes!

Consistently unmaintained. Bathrooms are always dirty and out of supplies. Dirty showers. Not on par with other La fitness in the DMV.

Had a truly horrible experience bringing a guest to this location. I have a 30 minute commute to get to the gym and had to turn around and go home all because of a technicality. I’ve been bringing guests with me and they NEVER ever ask for ID, I’m new to LA Fitness (2months) I’ve had several visits prior to and my guest was already added to my account in the app. So what’s the big deal??? Why the need for this new protocol? And the customer service was just poor, the girl at the front desk is telling me to pay $15 fee although I have VIP rewards. She was just misinformed! Then she just call this other guy and when I pull up the app, it was just loading and app wasn’t working. I’m a paying customer, drove all this distance and I and my guest was just shunned away. There was no apology, no remorse. It was ridiculous. I should have just cancelled my membership. Corporate needs to investigate this location.

If I could give this a -5 star I would. This place convinced me to join a contract that I didnt agree to. Save your money and go to a different gym.

I have not been back here since I had to inform the staff that ALL of their water was brown, yes toilet, sink, and “filtered” drinking water, which it then took staff over 20mins to place signs or the machines to not drink which people completely ignored. This place is overcrowded. Some people just stand around holding machines and talking. We pay all this money with barely any amenities compared to the larger locations. You can almost never find the weights you are looking for because they aren’t where they should be or trainers are hoarding them in their area unused. With all that you get you, might as well save $20 and go to Planet Fitness for less.

Worst business and sales practices!!!! Super aggressive and if you try to cancel, they make it near impossible and then have a group of people berate you about why you shouldn’t cancel and how you’re just not doing “it” right, whatever they assume “it” is because they don’t actually ask why you’re cancelling! I haven’t been so rude and angry about a customer service experience probably ever! LA Fitness will never get another cent from me.

I just called to speak to a membership consultant about signing up. I asked about the initiation fee online. She tells me that shes unfamiliar with the online process and told me to come in person to sign up. She was rude and uninterested. Then I asked to hand the phone to someone who is familiar with the process. But no one else was available for me to speak to. It was ridiculous. Ill just stick with my gym.

Rude employees, packed gym and once again horrible staff! It was one guy that worked here when they first opened up, he was very nice, caring and attentive to all of the gym members and people in general. They need to bring him back!

Orverall, this is a great gym and it provides many options for working out. I wish they had Tai Chi classes.

Nice open clean areas. Best times to go are at 5am or 9:30pm when the herd dies down. The sauna is my fave- only reason I won’t cancel lol I don’t care too much for the classes but the variety is machines and weights is good for me. Child care isn’t great just like at any other LA fitness- they just have one person in there with a bunch of kids staring at a TV with a little play place and tiny bathroom- can’t expect much for for “unlimited” limited hours for just $10/month (8am-12pm & 4pm-8pm) my son hates it but mommy needs to get her fitness in

Love my yoga classes!!!! The facility still in good condition like the womens lockers, bathroom and changing area. Ive never taken a shower here, thats just me!! The bathrooms are clean and ive never noticed a smell they come through often and check them! The jacuzzi is ok kinda small.

Locker rooms are clean. Pool is generally clear. Sauna & Hot Tub are nice but do occasionally breakdown. The music in Zumba, cycling, and body conditioning classes is WAY TOO LOUD (loud is fine but too loud is not good)because the instructors have to shout into their microphones and you still cant hear them. also, the classrooms are not swept or dust mopped between classes and there is constantly weaves, hair, dust and dirt on the floors. many of the mats have tears in them. all of this has been brought to Managements(gym, regional, and corporate)attention many times by many people and nothing changes.

I have not even been to this location but after reading all of the comments it sounds like every other LA. The front desk having to answer phones, sign people in among other things is hard to do have some empathy and look at the positives. 1) Once you sign up and have your key card they try not to make you wait, it was busy and clearly more then one front desk could handle so where was the other one ? 2) Im guessing he was explaining that the chlorine is at the correct amount and I am so sorry about the hot water but we cant just use any random company to service equipment or just add or subtract chlorine levels its a safety hazard either way. 3) About the hot water heater, you cant drive your ford to a chevy dealer to have it serviced under the warranty or repaired just like with hot water heaters. So great job LA at staying 💯and putting safety of members over reviews.

This is a really nice gym. Be careful to either use a key lock or dont take anything of value inside, locker rooms arent monitored correctly.

Moist sanitizing towels are truly needed in this establishment rather than napkins and foaming soap.

Its clean friendly atmosphere great customer service and theres always a machine to use.

They don’t even have an arc trainer, like what gym that charges that much can’t have that machine, then the one resembles it, doesn’t give you the info about calories burned or what not, then 4 machines down, tooooo expensive not to have the basics!!!!!! The WORST customer service! My husband and I had a 7pm appt for a tour. When we arrived the guy at the desk was on his cell phone and acted as if we were invisible. When he finally said may l help you we we told our tour person left for the day. He never offered to help us or find someone who could. Another guy came over and said he and his female coworker was busy we can wait a while or come back tomorrow to see the guy. Horrible, we will NOT be back!

I just walked out of LA Fitness. I was unable to get any information on the facility. I was told to come back in an hour b/c there was no sales people currently working. I was very disappointed to get any good customer service. What do you expect, look at the,a re a I live in.

BUYER BEWARE read this review before joining manager and staff are extremely rude, unprofessional and inconsistent. Even though manager (Deirdre. P.) signed me up personally she told me I was trespassing during my workout and when I asked her to print my membership card she proceed to create a scene and embarss me all this after being a member for only three weeks will not be returning ever.

I am currently a member and it has not been the best experience. I signed up for the personal trainer and was rip off they draw and write things on paper . Which makes it hard to follow . the price that they tell you will be different then what your charged. You will pay all this money for 26 minutes of personal training at least 4,000.We have No hot water for showers as 3/6/17 and today is the 11th of march . Nothing works properly they dont give you proper cleaning supplies to clean the equipment after work out . Most ppl dont even do it . 💀Use at your own risk and safety!!!!🛑Hot Tube issues-The hot tube has strong Chlorine smell so after you wash. You will still smell like chlorine the killer is your lungs will be irritated 😤 from breathing it.Good quality chlorine does not have much of an odor. That chlorine smell that you associate with chlorine happens when chlorine combines with organic junk, oils, sweat, urine, etc. A clean pool will smell clean. When you scoop up some pool water in your hands and smell it, it should smell like fresh, clean water.

The sauna says down for service. Its been down now for a month. And when I ask the front desk. The answer I get is they have no clue. They are really bad.
