I have been to the Valvoline in Wake Forest plenty of times with my boyfriend and sister and their experiences we’re pretty good, so I decided to use them for an oil change on Saturday. Upon arriving we were greeted quickly and pulled into a bay as soon as we pulled up, once the employee went to begin the oil change he lifted the hood and proceeded to look underneath. My boyfriend and I noticed a quite a bit of steam coming up from the engine bay, the employees proceeded to talk to one another and about 4 other employees came over to look and started shaking their heads. As someone who doesn’t know cars as much as they do, seeing employees working on your car and shaking their head is never a good sign. None of the employees came over to tell us what was going on, not even the manager and they all proceeded to just talk and joke around in front of my car as my boyfriend and I still do not know what’s going on with my car. After about 10 minutes of waiting to see if someone would come and explain, we decided to get out and finally the employee told us he had broken the coolant T and the coolant had dumped into the engine bay causing the steam. I was then told they’d fix it at no charge, which I was very grateful for, the manager said it would a 7-8 hour job and that he would call us, I hadn’t received a call about an update or what they were going to do with it, whether they were going to tow it to a shop or leave it there. I was without a car for 2 days, and my mom called up there to see what was going on with my car on Monday and was told the manager would call her around 11am, they never called her. She had to call them back and they stated they were going to fix the car at Valvoline themselves. Although, it is quite bizarre that my car had not been touched at all until my mom called on Monday. Upon picking up my car, I was given a $17 discount off a $131 oil change.. nice but a lot of trouble to go through for only $17 off.

I really like the convenience of this place. That does add a little more cost over others. However, its worth it to me.
Ive been here several times. When I stopped in on 6-4-21 at about 6pm, I pulled in behind a car being serviced. No one appeared to be working on that car. I saw an employee smoking on the other side of the building. No one approached me. After a few minutes, I decided to leave.
Did not revert my vehicle back to the way it was after they were finished inspecting
Customer service was like no other.The staff was very professional and very knowledgeable of their job. They done a great job and until the next time be safe
They the away a part of the air filter casing, tried to play it off as a sending failure. When it was proven they lost it, they miraculously found it after they got stuck with the $110 to replace it.
I was able to show up without an appointment and get my transmission fluid changed within 30 minutes and the staff was extremely friendly and answered all of my questions.
Been here several times. They’re okay but not my recommendation. Missed a screw in my tire and told me my tires were fine. Didn’t even look. Also sort of pressuring to get products.

I needed an inspection. No other vehicles in the inspection bay (one was pulling out as I pulled up) and no other cars waiting for oil change. From the customer lounge I watched 3 vehicles arrive and get oil changed while my vehicle was never pulled into the inspection bay. I left the lounge and got back in my car and drove away and employees watched and couldn’t have cared less. So I never got the opportunity to use the business. Pitiful way to treat a potential customer.
Always nice employees, usually get a deal. I know how to change my own oil, windshield wipers, and etc but it doesnt cost much and is worth the time frankly. I always go here but had to give a third star review because since last time I went my AC has been acting weird.
I had an oil change done and right after began leaking oil. What I found out is that they replaced the drain plug with something that was not factory and does not seat properly. Because of this I have been leaking oil. I had to replace the drain plug because of this. I would be careful using this place.

Its the small details that sour my attitude to a business. For example they didnt put a new oil reminder sticker on the windshield and they didnt reset the oil reminder light on the car. Now I have to remember when its time to get my oil changed again and I have to figure out how to reset the oil change reminder on my car because its telling me its overdue when its not. These are things that ALL other businesses who change oil do and if youre charging $90 for an oil change its disappointing and annoying. Im not going back to a business that cant even handle simple details like that.
I was going to take my truck to get an oil change and tire rotation, but I definitely won’t be now. This is my first time getting full synthetic and I had a few questions, but the guy answering the phone was very rude and short with his answers. Before I have anyone touch my truck, I may have a few legitimate questions, but if you don’t have the time to answer them, I’m not spending my time taking it there.

Refuses to inspect Tesla Vehicles in direct violation of Title 19A Chapter 03 Subchapter D Article d of the North Carolina Administrative Code (19A NCAC 03D .0523) states: Vehicle presented to be inspected. Each station shall inspect any vehicle presented for inspection according to the year model, and type of engine except as provided in this section or when exempted from the emissions inspection by a waiver issued by the Commissioner of Motor Vehicles or his designated agent.Greg was confrontational when asked why.Should lose their license to inspect vehicles.
I’ve used these guys probably 10 times. Never again. I brought my sons brand new Toyota 4Runner in for an oil change and inspection. I witnessed a guy beating the oil cover pan because he was mad it didn’t come off. That’s because it flapped down. I had to go into the bay to tell him to stop. I talked to the manager. He said he would give me $15 off.
It took them 1 hr 30 minutes to do an inspection and oil change, with no explanation, apology, or checking in with me, until the very end. Although I was third in line for the inspection bay, there is no reasonable way it should take that long.
Very professional and No Nonsense. A veteran team that appeared to appreciate my business.
Cannot recommend this facility. Came here for an oil change, waited for 40 minutes while they kept assuring me they’d be done soon, and then finally they told me something was stuck and they didn’t want to break it trying to get it off but they hadn’t drained the oil yet. Should have told me that 10 minutes in so I could have left then. Instead I sat there for 40 minutes for an oil change they weren’t able to provide.
A couple of kids did my oil change, forgot to reset my meter, didnt rotate my tires like I asked.
Service was amazing! Shout out to Cameron for being so professional and supportive of his crew! Had an issue with the plate underneath my older vehicle. They took the time to still make sure my car was serviced properly. Thank you again for your hard work!

I usually service my own vehicles being in the automotive field myself, but I decided to give them a shot. I was very impressed with the enthusiasm of Jeffery, one of my techs. I also loved the camera views of them performing the work under my vehicle. They were fast, professional and very friendly. I’ve only used Valvoline oil in my vehicles for over 30 years, and will definitely be back when it’s time for my next service.
One star for being a secure location that provides the service specified in a professional manner. Minus four stars for terrible COVID-19 precautions. Most staff keep masks below their nose, frequently remove their face masks, or spent extended periods of time without any mask. I recommend finding another service location.

Got oil changed and tires rotated drove home tire light came home right as I pulled into the driveway. Took about 25 minutes. Went back in for the light they just forgot to reset it. Went in they reset it took about 10 minutes.
Yesterday, I blessed Valvoline on South Main Street with my presence for an oil change. The mechanics seemed kind and professional, and service was relatively quick (business was slow that day). After the $100 oil change, the mechanic totaling my service told me that everything in my car was in good shape, except for the battery. They told me that my battery was so low that I shouldn’t even leave without getting it changed, implying that my car would blow up or break down or something if I drove away lol idk. After declining the many offers to install a new battery, I decided to go to the place that sold me the battery to see if the warranty allowed me to get a new one. After testing the battery 3+ times, the store told me that my battery was good, along with everything else in my car. I’m not sure if it was just because they were low on business that day or that they got the impression that I knew nothing about my car because I’m a female or whatever else, but as of my last visit, Valvoline is a very dishonest business. They tried to play me and that was so corny. Professional scammers!
Wanted an instant oil change this morning, but had to sit and watch 2 people (and a 3rd on the phone) try to figure out how to work their computer for 15 minutes. Decided to leave and get an instant oil change elsewhere.
Stopped in for annual state inspection. The team here was courteous and quick. I wasnt here long at all! I would recommend using them for general maintenance sick as an oil change or other regularly scheduled with. Overall I was very satisfied with this location.
WATCH OUT!!!! These folks will get you if they think they can. Just moved to the area, my wife took her car in for an inspection/oil change, should have been simple enough. After charging her an excessive amount for her oil change ($65) they told her she needed a new air filter and upsold her one of those as well (and never even installed it). They failed the car for inspection as one of the tail lights was out, instead of spending more money at this place my wife luckily had the foresight to bring the car home to me to install a new light. I fixed the light, she brought it back and they failed it again (saying the parking brake didnt work, which it does). My wife called me, and i went up there in person with her and explained to them that they had already passed everything but the light and that the light was now corrected. They finally passed the car, however the next day the battery (which they shouldve also checked) died. Went to Advanced Auto and bought a new battery, while installing it i noticed the air filter which they had sold her was not even in the car and had never been installed. Went back with her one more time and explained this to the technicians (about 6 of them), who proceeded to gather around the car and deny they had been the ones who had worked on this vehicle and thus could not confirm whether it had been installed or not. The person working the desk told me they would have to call the manager and view the security camera footage to see whether it had been installed or not. 3 days later, still no call from this manager. Im not wasting any more of my time with these folks, Ill buy a new filter and install it myself. I suggest you do not waste your time, or more importantly, your money, with these folks either.
A great place for fast service oil change or state inspection. But have your vehicle ready before hand. They wont help you cheat inspection.

Employees here have no idea whats going on. Wasted 2 hrs for state inspection and went another place got it done in 15 mins.
They told me they couldn’t change the oil on a Volvo after I queried the $150 price they were quoting me.
Every other time I’ve been here I’ve had excellent service, but the new girl ringing me up today for an oil change had a huge attitude problem. Seemed miserable to be working. Didn’t catch her name because she kept walking off and didn’t even reset my dash. Brown/reddish hair with tattoos, get a new job if you don’t like it there.
The employee,Brittany, was Such a sweetheart and a Matthew I think his name was, did an excellent and very fast job. Thank you guys so much!!! By the way, they BOTH deserve a raise!!!!!!!
What a terrible experience! Pulled up and waited in the car. No one acknowledged. Kept waiting with my kids. No one acknowledged. 3 out of 4 bays in use. No one acknowledged. Car leaves one of the bays, no one acknowledged. Another car pulls up beside us, immediately acknowledged. Infuriating!!!!! If I didnt have my kids with me I would have a lot of choice words for the ignorant, poorly trained, obviously dont like their jobs staff that work there. A word to management that Im sure was there wasting company money. A fish stinks from the head down.

Thoroughly impressed with this location. Honestly don’t understand the other really low reviews because I’ve been here three times now and every time the shop is extremely clean and the service is friendly and they are extremely fast. I am usually in and out of there in under 15 minutes if I have to wait for a car ahead of me and if I drive right in I’m out in under 7 to 8 minutes. Great job.

By far the best Valvoline that Ive ever been to drove all the way up here from six forks and Strickland it is so nice the lobby area is very well maintained. The staff was super friendly and kind they let me pull my car up so I wouldnt have to get out of the car with my two children who were with me. They were willing to do whatever it took for me to have a great experience and not have to worry about stress because I had my kids with me. I want to thank the staff at this location for making up the bad experience that I had with a Valvoline on six forks near Wake Forest Road.
My experience before today had been fine, i used to take each one of the cars we own for oil change specifically here because I trusted that they did a good job.That changed today when i took my car for Oil change, they changed the oil fine, but DID NOT change my oil filter, (thanks to the cctv i could observe carefully what they were doing) then they proceed to get some some kind of cleaning soap and wash my filter so that it would appear new dude like why change wash my filter when you can just change it. anyway, i am really disappointed.ill be looking for another service station, because i did not like what they did today.

I moved to NC last year. My windows were already tinted. I had my car inspected here, and it failed the window tint test, and they told me it would have to be removed. I went to a window tint place and they tested it and said it was completely legal, but there was nothing I could do because the Valvoline station had failed it. I went back to them to get it reinspected. I did give them a hard time over the problem and they argued right back (not good at handling angry customers). There was one car in front of me. Before my car could be inspected they broke the window tint checker. I will not go back here next year for sure!
Just came from there after spending nearly $300, and whoever did my check-out was extremely rude, wore no Face mask(illegal), wouldnt or couldnt answer simple questions about my service, asked him about my discount, got I dont know, and basically threw the receipt at me!! Will never use them again!
Male customers were told they could pull their cars through the bay. Females were told to “let the attendant do it.” Items which they stated they checked (like tire pressure) were not checked. I had to ask 3 TIMES to finally get them to check and correct. Attendant condescending. Poor service, poor quality. I won’t return.

I tried to use a coupon from their website which was for $7 off synthetic oil change in date and was told that the computer wouldn’t except it and I had to call corporate about it. I pushed back and they applied it manually but told me if I don’t call corporate about it they won’t do it next time. Felt like a scam to get full payment for oil change. Also gave me a 3,000 mile return on full synthetic.... I don’t think so. This place used to be decent, not sure what happened.
I’ve been a customer with 3 vehicles here since they opened for inspections, oil changes, etc. until my 2017 Nissan Maxima with 37,000 miles broke down on me abruptly on my way to work during rush hour traffic. I had my vehicle towed ($125) to Crossroads Nissan to have it checked. They discovered that the air filter I had recently replaced at Valvoline was improperly installed.The air filter was crushed and torn with one of the housing clamps unsecured. This caused the main air flow sensor to get dirty and burn out costing me $450 for a new filter, new sensor and labor. Crossroads Nissan gave me a discount but this issue was not covered under the warranty because we were over the mileage allowance.I took the receipt, the filter and a copy of the service invoice which described the cause of the problem to Valvoline and asked for some type of compensation. After waiting several weeks and having to call back several times, I finally spoke to Julian Harrington the “”Regional Manager” who stated that he had looked into the complaint and spoke with Customer Support who denied any responsibility and that Valvoline would not provide me any compensation due to their incompetence.I do not recommend letting Valvoline do any work to your vehicle other than a basic oil change or an inspection and I would watch them very closely if you do. I will be taking my 3 vehicles and my business elsewhere and will be sharing my experience with all of my friends in the community. I’m very disappointed in the lack of accountability by this local business to a loyal customer.

Went there to get oil change and inspection. Agreed to pay an additional fee to change a headlight that was not changed 😡. In addition, needed to replace my wipers to pass inspection. Was told the charge would be $27.99 for wipers. Go to check out and the charge was $27.99 per blade. Asked to have them take off the wipers because I was not paying $55 to have wipers changed when I can get high quality wipers for only $20 at any Walmart. I would not have purchased there in any regard had it not been required to pass inspection. Attendants both copped am attitude when I asked them to take wipers off because they had already passed my inspection. I doubt any same person would drive for am extended period of time with no windshield wipers. Notice today the light bulb was not changed either.

I do not recommend this place!Long story, but short version is they disconnected the vacuum hose when checking/replacing the air filter which caused all kinds of issues and ended me at the mechanic to find out that was the cause. It isn’t the first time they caused an issue due to checking the air filter.Longer version...Took my RAV4 in for an oil change and gave them some ceramic wear protection additive to add to the oil. They were training someone new, but it looked like they were walking him through the steps for the work they do checking fluids and the air filter. They opened up my air filter compartment and I provided them with a new air filter (which I knew was the right part, because I’ve changed it myself) and they replaced the old one.When it came to the oil additive, they told me right up front that they weren’t responsible for any damage caused by the additive. I fully understood that. I had used it with a different vehicle due to high mileage and wasn’t worried about the additive.Things progressed and they poured the additive in before the oil. That worried me, because I though that it was supposed to be added after. The oil change finished, I left and went back to work.On my way back it was running rough, but I thought maybe the additive and oil were mixing and once mixed it would correct itself. It was only a short drive back to work, so I didn’t notice a major issue until I started my trip home.The vehicle was hesitant to start, but did start on the first try. I pulled out of the parking lot onto the road and even though I was giving it gas it wasn’t speeding up. Then the check engine light came on a few minutes later.I started blaming myself thinking it was the additive and that I needed to get it out. So I went back here and had them give me another oil change. I figured replacing the oil and filter should clean the stuff out.I started back home and I was still having issues. My SUV was still running but roughly. I looked up reviews for the additive and someone said that it had messed with their spark plugs. I looked up spark plug issues and they matched with how the vehicle was performing.I again blamed myself and all of the wasted money from the extra oil change, the cost of the additive and now a mechanic to replace what I thought was gummed up spark plugs.I had to wait for my next paycheck, so it took me two weeks of rough driving 2 hours a day before I could get it looked at.The mechanic checked the error code and it was a code from the oxygen sensor which lead him to find that a vacuum hose had come loose.I asked how that could happen, because I really don’t know much about cars and he said it is connected to the air filter compartment and that it can come loose when you replace the air filter. He reconnected it and said it was running fine after. So long story, but all of my wasted money and blaming myself was all because they didn’t check the hose after they closed up the air filter compartment.Oh and this isn’t the first time. The last time I hadn’t gotten out of the bay because the engine died right after I started it. They had me pop the hood that time it was the filter housing that hadn’t been closed properly.They may be good at oil changes, but don’t let them touch your air filters!

Great customer service, service was completed quickly. They didnt try to pressure me into services not needed, but they did let me know of services that were available. When I said no, that was it, No pressure. I liked the relaxed atmosphere, the guys working were having a good time while working. The guy that checked me out gave me grief over the Auburn University stuff on my car, but it was all in good fun. Ill definitely be back for my next oil change. And they offer a military discount!
Disappointed....had to update my good review. This was my familys go to. The techs were great and the service was awesome. The last couple times have been bad to put it nicely. We have gone here faithfully the last couple years, but its over. The last couple times they have been barely friendly make you feel like an inconvenience and tried to upsell the wipers for the inspection such a shame

Ever since Valvoline on Main St, Wake Forest opened I have taken all our family cars for oil change and inspections. My last visit was for full service oil change. I was astonished that this was completed in less than 10 minutes from the time my car was pulled in. As the technician was pulling out my car I went to him to check tire pressure and he informed me that it was too late.Worst experience was when i discovered after reaching home that my expensive pair of sunglasses were stolen. I know it was stolen there as my car was not used anywhere else. We called them and they said regional manager would get back to us. He never did. Dont go here.BTW this is the first ever negative review I have ever written
I have been going here since they opened. Typically, fast and friendly service. A little pricier than most shops BUT worth it to be in/out in under 15 minutes. After my last oil change they forgot to put part of my car back together which resulted in some under carriage damage. Hoping this was a 1 time mistake since I love going here so much... might try a different location next time
Never again. They work fast. Fast mean poor quality of work. They act like, talk like and yell like professionals. Dont even try to show your Groupon voucher. They will treat you like you have the disease. Never again!
Went there earlier this morning to get an inspection done and was told that they were not doing any inspections today by one of the employees, which I knew was a complete lie. Just to confirm my assumption I called back out there a few minutes ago and asked did they do inspections and the answer was yes and I asked what time they close they told me four. There was no mention of they were not doing inspections today. So they will not be getting my service anymore and I will advise you to do the same if they would lie about something as simple as an inspection.
Took 45 minutes to get an inspection after I was in the bay. It took 5 employees looking at a vehicle that came in after mine. I guess it was a friend because they stood around joking for 15 minutes while I waited. I will NEVER go there again.

Put the wrong air filter in my car then when I confronted the older guy he “looked it up” and told it was the right size. Went to the one in Raleigh and it was the wrong size he just wanted the sale. On top of that, whoever changed my filter didn’t put it on tight enough and if it wasn’t placed at the top of my engine it would’ve totaled my car...Went by today and they have a new manager and mostly new staff so hopefully things like this won’t continue.
