I would not recommend this location. They are too busy for what they can handle and seem to be incompetent at best or dishonest at worst. We took our vehicle in for a simple flat repair and were told it was fixed and charged accordingly. We werent told details of what was repaired, just that it was repaired. Over the next few days it seemed apparent that the repair did not address the issue, as we still had the same slow leak. We took it back and were told the original repair was still good and there was a new nail not there before. I cant disprove that, but it seems very unlikely, given that the behavior of the leak was the same only days later. The worst part is that I was told the new nail could not be repaired because it was too close to the side of the tire and I would need a new tire. I was skeptical so I took the vehicle to another business for them to look at it and see if they could make the repair. The other business not only was able to fix it, but they were able to do it much quicker and were much better at communicating. I am very frustrated with my experience here and I have no reason to return. I recommend you find another place rather than giving this location a shot.
This location is very good, they do great work the first time. The counter guys understand the auto service business. May people complain about appointments, but to be fair that stuff happens sometimes. This shop is always busy which means they are good at what they do. Joe and the staff will take care of your oil changes, tire repair or battery needs among other services. I found Joe to be very honest.
What a great place for service! It was my first time there and Joe was absolutely amazing. I had a flat tire and was driving on a donut.Joe reassured me, ordered my tire and went out of his way to track down my order. He rescued me! What a great employee to have representing this company. I was so impressed.
I live in Wake Forest and this Pep Boys has always been top notch. From the customer service to the services they provided. Top Notch!! When to you go in speak with Joe or Jim. Either one you give you the best experience. Keep up the great work guys. Oh, and Pep Boys Corp. Give these guys a raise.
I have gone to this location for regular maintenance for sometime now and always get awesome service. Jim and Joe are always very professional and courteous.
Horrible Service. 3 weeks ago went to get tires, they did not have tires instock. Tried to upsell more expensive brand also needed shocks they never ordered parts. Took car back requested other tires was told they would order them for next appt and shocks. Drove to store again no parts so we finally got everything done1 full week later. We git a flat tire on Thursday my wife called to let them know and they pulled up vehicle and aaid ok come in. Common sense would be to have the tire ready to go but no here we are its Saturady and now they are not answering phone and we still have donut on car. Really dishonest and not customer focused I would avoid this location. They seem to push the more expensive products by not having other tires in stock.

My vehicle needed tires because of a nail in one of them that was leaking bad and it wasnt repairable so with many appointments he had already committed to he managed to squeeze me in on a Sunday!!! Really appreciate the effort by the staff getting me back on the way home...

I went to pep boys because I had a flat tire and dropped my tire off and it took longer than expected and they were awesome about it, they didnt even charge me for the repair. Thats what I call excellent customer service Ill be going back. Thank you soooooo much.
I am Highly upset and Disappointed if I could give a Review without a Star they would have no Stars my Seventeen year old Daughter on Sunday September 5th got a Screw in her back tire - she is a delivery driver & this happened during her deliveries.. we went to Pep Boys at this location arrived at 4:53 pm - they close at 6pm Nathan the Manager told me that he couldnt help us out and I Quote I have two wheel alignments two brake jobs and two tire rotations. Plugging a tire takes 10 minutes if thatI advised we would wait for however long it was and offered and extra $20., to no avail. Way to go to help out a kid,

Diagnosed and repaired my car accurately. Went in with AC not working and staff here diagnosed a faulty temperature gauge. The gas mileage went up for my car and AC working! I am pleased with service.

I was passing through town and needed some help. Manager went way out of his way to assist me. Ive never used Pep Boys before but will now.
The team was fair, knowledgeable and kind. My daughters front breaks needed to be replaced and the technicians were patient and provided a discount on the service. This was my daughters first experience with repairing her car on her own and it was very positive. We will continue to be repeat customers.
Do not go to this location. My fiance made a scheduled appointment for noon the day before the appointment for a state inspection on her vehicle. She showed to drop the car off around 10AM, TWO hours before her appointment and because there was no one at the counter tending to customers and the mechanics in the back were ignoring her, dropped her keys of in drop box. She received a call that she missed because she was out of her vehicle dropping the keys back, but immediately called them back to confirm the appointment. After running errands, called to see how her car inspection going. This is right at noon when her appointment was scheduled. She was then told that they had no idea where her key was. After they found it in the dropbox, they gave her an attitude because it was in the dropbox (even though nobody was at the counter so she couldnt give it to them in person). Okay, whatever, we just need the inspection on the vehicle. After talking to two different employees about when it would be done she was given a half hour window for her car to be done. Arriving back from errands ten minutes later, her car has not moved from where she parked it hours earlier. After waiting another twenty minutes for her car to be done, she called in asking again about her car and was told that it was currently being worked on. While she was still in the parking lot. Looking at her car having not moved. At this point, she confronted management about what was going on and was confronted with attitude about how she dropped her key off in the wrong area (the door was not open when she dropped it off), raised his voice at her about not confirming her appointment earlier (even though she called back and showed him the call logs on her phone) and commented about the staff in the back were all oblivious. At this point it was 1:30PM, she had been lied to about her car being worked on, its an hour and half past her scheduled appointment time after confirming her appointment and dropping her vehicle and key off early and her car had still not been inspected, a process that takes 15 minutes. There are other chains that do good work around her and several local shops that have dropped what they were doing to get an inspection done for us and refused to let us even make an appointment because they only take a few minutes. Dont use this Pep Boys. Go someone else.
Make a appointment for 11am. Show up only to be told that it will be a few hours till they can look at it. What was the point of an appointment if you can’t honor it? Absolute waste of my time. Will never go back.

Before the oil change, I confirmed the price with the guy, based on oil and filter type, my car model, manufacturer, and year, etc. He told me around 65 dollar. After the oil change, he told me 85+. Obviously, I confirmed with a dishonest person. This is my 2nd time for this shop. The last time is for the alignment issue. They did not fix it well, did not find the root cause, and the problem went back after a short time. I have to find a different auto shop. 2 times with them. No more.
I made my appointment online on Monday for Tuesday 12:30 pm. Jim, the owner greeted me in the friendly way he always does with his Boston accent and his front desk right-hand man, Joe, in his NY accent :) Not long after I arrived, my car was serviced in the time the online appointment said it would take. The checkout was easy and, even more importantly these days, very safely done, down to wiping down my keys before they gave them to me. I have been bringing my car to them since moving to Wake Forest in 2014 for both regular maintenance and any emergencies that come up and I trust them with my car.
I had a positive experience getting a wheel alignment. Jim (manager) was pleasant and professional. Much cheaper than dealer!

I took my car in to get a tune up, oil change and to have the ac checked and to have refrigerant added. The ac didnt seem like it was done. I brought it back on Sunday and was told the work would be guaranteed and to bring it back on Monday. Monday I was recharge for exactly the same. I feel like Ive been taken advantage of and I will never return.

I had an inspection done here. I rode around Wake Forest for over half an hour looking to get my car inspected. Everyone else told me to make an appointment for two days later or come back in a few hours. I called Pep Boys and was welcomed to come as soon as possible. My inspection took 15-20 mins. Everyone was friendly, and service was great!
I was verbally assaulted this morning in this store by another customer who was obviously friends of the guy behind the desk, but he just sat there and let this guy assault me. As a customer, I deserve better! The customer wanted to talk politics and I refused, but he just kept getting louder and was extremely rude to me. The employee should have just told his buddy to shut his trap, so his other customer could feel safe and comfortable in this place of business.
Had a great experience with very friendly, professional and punctual crew. Jorg was great and helped out a lot. He was knowledgeable and sincere. Great tire buying experience overall.

Ive been trusting them with my auto needs for about 5 years now. Im always met with very friendly service, usually quick. Ive never felt like theyve tried to sell me services or parts I didnt need. They have even helped me free of charge for simple things like changing a headlight and pulling construction debris out of my tire and making sure its okay.

Oil change took over an house and a half to do, the tech working on the car didnt out on masks or gloves to move it as they are supposed to during this pandemic. An other car we took there for Torres went in fine but came out with a bad wheel bearing. Do not go here.

I received GREAT customer service right off the bat from my very first phone call. I had the good luck of getting Donald and not only was he kind, understanding and knowledgeable about what he was saying, but he didnt condescend to me in the least. I didnt have to explain over and over what I needed. He not only stayed within the financial guidelines that I provided, but was actually able to give me BETTER brakes/rotors/pads than what he initially said I would be able to afford.They fixed it in one day, explained about a rebate and the guarantee. EVERYTHING he did and said was geared towards me coming back and developing a life long relationship with his shop. I have had some pretty bad experiences with mechanics. The bad ones know they have you over a barrel and make you pay so much more because you need your car to live.This Pep Boys doesnt believe in doing business that way. They look at the big picture, the long game and treat their customers fairly and with respect and kindness. I will NEVER seek another place to bring my car. Thanks, Donald! You really made my day!
My experience at this Pep Boys was excellent. This was my first time going but my husband has been going here since he got his first car and I understand why. Theyre extremely friendly and the wait time isnt long. Jim and his crew are excellent workers.12/10 would recommend.

I called to make an appointment and the manager Jorg was extremely helpful and was willing to listen to me explain the problem with my car and offer suggestions for ways to fix it that would not break the bank. They do not try to price gouge you. I will definitely be back!
Ive been going to this location for a while for oil changes and other repairs and Ive always been satisfied with them, but recently they really went above and beyond for me. My check engine light went on randomly, and they were able to fit me into the schedule, assess the problem, and have it repaired in a very reasonable timeframe without overcharging me. Excellent service and communication, definitely would recommend.
Im disappointed after being turned away after a scheduled appointment at 8am 6/22/19. Jorge (George) said he couldnt take me basically because of all the bookings they had previously, I wish I would have known this before booking an appointment the day before 6/21/19, after being a loyal customer, Ill have to find another company who will see me at my scheduled appointed time. I dont recommend scheduling appointments at this location.

I am very upset the paper they gave me after they was finished said they evaluated my car but they said they balanced my tires but my steering wheel shaking when I stop on brakes I spent 530 on getting my shocks done and just alignment and my still feels worst they going to give me what my money is worth

Jim and crew at the Wake Forest location take care of you and do great work. Friendly and honest folks. Ive had both of my vehicles serviced here and never had an issue.I dont really understand (or agree) with the negative reviews on here. As long as you schedule your service ahead of time and have an expectation that they are here to help you/fix your problem, you will walk away with your problem fixed or understand what you will need to do. Repairs are going to cost, so set your expectation there. Ive had a few issues were I had to go back to the dealer to fix (gearbox and drive terrain), but at least these guys pointed me in the right direction. Ive also seen a few people walk in here and expect the crew to drop their schedule to accommodate them on the fly. Yea. These guys are normally busy so set aside the time and schedule a few days out.Keep up the good work and service.

I have done business here on several occasions and the work is always done right and in a timely manner. They also go out of there way to help you out however they can. For instance, I called late on a Sunday afternoon with a flat tire and they were able to patch it on short notice so I would not have to miss work the following day. Highly recommended!!

I paid $130 for a diagnostic, I got the parts and things fixed that the diagnostic test stated was wrong, and it STILL does not run. I could have saved my money and went elsewhere !
On 11/16/2019 at 1130am I stopped in at pep boys in wake Forest at the Lowes common center off hwy 98 First of all I am from 3 hours away and had picked up a nail in my tire on my road trip. I ask the man at the counter if he could patch my tire because I’m from out of town and it has a nail in it and I need to keep traveling to my destination. He said no he was booked till next week. I was like dumbfounded. I said you mean to tell me that you can’t take care of a customer who has an emergency situation. He said no. I have worked several different management jobs and all of them preaching the customer is the most important thing and if you take care of the customer then it will ensure the longevity of the company. Well this was very poor customer service. And I will never refer anyone to pep boys because of this.

The team here is always beyond helpful, no matter what is going on with my vehicles. All advice they give I verify and they have always been spot on. Honest, great customer service, and always willing to help = my go-to, non-dealer service center! (And I’m a local in the area!)

Ive taken my car here several times for different issues, and Ive had both good and bad experiences. If you go in, ask for Donald. Donald is friendly and genuinely cares about getting you good service at a decent price. Ive gone in at other times when Donald wasnt there, and have always had a less than positive experience. Either the price they quoted me was not the price I ended up paying (the price I paid was higher), or they told me I needed fifteen other things fixed on my car when I was VERY clear that I JUST wanted an oil change. I recommend them as long as Donald is the one helping you. Hes a class act. I dont trust anyone else there.

They have terrible customer service. I ordered a tire from Amazon that was delivered directly to them. Confirmed they had received the tire 3 times before going in. I got there and after 20 minutes they cant find the tire nor can rget associate my name with the order of my tire. They said finally there was a tire but wrong size. The guy that attended me said that he would have me talk to a manager, never happened. They didnt even apologize for their service. I ended up canceling and calling Amazon for a refund. I gotta say Amazon was great. They are giving me a refund without even getting the tire back from Pep Boys in Wake Forest in Gateway Commons plaza. They are terrible in my opinion.

Jim was great, fit me in last minute for an alignment on a Sunday! Had to go back to tweak the steering wheel, no problem, got me right in, the tech was fantastic! Good experience!
They dont care!! Took a perfectly working ML 350 to this Pep Boys for a simple 80K service. They install a gasket incorrectly and a week later the gasket fails and gets sucked into the turbo causing $5,000 dollars worth of damage to the vehicle. I had to have it fixed at the dealer. Asked to file a claim with their insurance and guess what? ... Denied 4 weeks later.Will file case in the small claims court next.If you have a good car - take it to the dealer. They even claimed to have customers who bring in their Maserati to them for servicing. If I see them again, it will be in a court.
After a year of telling myself that I could replace the front struts, I finally bit the bullet and took it to Pep Boys in Wake Forest. I brought my own parts in and they were happy to use them. Jim was courteous when I arrived and we talked about what I had and wanted them to do.While doing the struts some complications arose, the found the front driver side axle was damaged due to my prolonged driving on bad struts. Jim did his best finding the right part, which is a challenge for the Mazdaspeed version. The first one was for the normal Mazda, the second one was correct. Again, Jim did a great job calling me to keep me posted of what was going on with the repair.I had a wheel bearing, that they could use to finish the repair. When I stopped by to drop it off, Jim & his technicians showed me my car and what they were doing. Again keeping me informed.I was EXTREMELY happy with the repair service and the customer service.
I pretty much did his job for him!. Had my vehicle for 2 days and was going for a third,on the pretence that they couldnt get the part until the 3rd day. I made one phone call and had the parts there in an hour!. Couldve been out of there before closing on that first day if he had just done his do diligence. I had heard in the past how undesirable Pep Boys were to do business with,but thats where the warranty company sent me. Never again will I patronize a Pep Boys again!

Ex went in by herself. They quoted for a lot of work that was unnecessary. 900+ more than what it cost to repair. I waited for a while to make sure it wasnt the issues they diagnosed and Im certain that it wasnt. Be careful if you dont know what youre talking about and need help because they will obviously take advantage of you. Not indicative of their work as they never did it. Sucks people still try to pull a fast one.

This is not so much about the Wake Forest but Pep Boys at large. I ordered a shade from them on Amazon the listing said 1 to 2 days to ship. After 3 days I asked what was up and they replied they would send asap and I would be sent shipping confirm. as soon as it shipped and it was indeed in stock they had checked. A FULL WEEK after the order had been placed it was still waiting to be shipped. At this point I bought one local and it had to be from Pep Boys online. In store pickup that day after 6:00pm. After placing the order it went from pickup time to estimated time. Sure enough it did not get in until the next day, not so bad, but hey IT WAS OPENED! Now this is a gift for my sister in-law but after all the crap I went ahead and took it just to bring it to a end. All In All I can promise I will not buy ANYTHING from them ever again!
Wake Forest is one the best places to get repairs done. They give it to you straight and Jorg (New Yorker) helps me out everytime
Since thier official website claims theirs an issue with my review for the 4th time, Im going to post it here.Theyre a rip off at this location. They over charge for an arm and a leg. They slick talk you into buying or doing more to get more money out of you for simple things that shouldnt cost much, but they like doing it the hard way for more money.I will NEVER body if this location ever again.
