This was the first time my vehicle was serviced at TJ Crossmans Auto Repair, and I was delighted as a customer throughout the entire process. The staff at TJs are very knowledgeable, professional, respectful, and helpful. And the facility is the cleanest auto repair shop I have ever been in. (For real!)Shout out to Hunter who was so great, right from scheduling the appointment, and really on top of things during the appointment. And a shout out to Joe who expertly serviced my vehicle today. You guys are awesome!

They do good work. Cant argue that in any way shape or form. But when a 300$ part and 70$ oil change winds up totaling some 800$ i wont be going back. I understand that there is labor involved but i was told six some over the phone.Edit: they made good on fixing the error and reimbursed me for it. Thank you guys.

TJ Crossman runs a great shop and has a great team of techs. They are fast and efficient and did an excellent job. Mr Crossman goes the extra mile to assure a great experience. When the rental car company did me wrong TJ gave me the shop car to borrow. He even followed up to see how the car was running a few weeks later. Great service and great work.

Ive been here several times for various services on two of our cars. TJ and all the technicians are always professional, friendly, and never make you feel rushed. Weve opened the door for them to recommend services (we might need brakes, etc...) but theyve always been honest and never tried to upsell anything. Prices are great, work is great, this is a family place you can trust.

I came to this shop to get my brakes checked, after a few hours they called to tell me what was wrong with them. Being completely inexperienced with car issues I had some miss communication, however I brought it up to the managers attention and he was extremely professional and explained everything in detail to me. I was able to get a Free car rental from them while they serviced my car, which made it easier for me to get to work. Compared to other car shops they had very reasonable prices and were very thorough with what I needed and not pushy at all. They fixed my brakes and now my car runs great. Highly recommend this shop especially if you want an honest option on your car.

TJ Crossman’s team did an excellent job in rebuilding the front suspension of my F-350. They took care to address all my concerns. The technical side of the repair was far superior to what I could have expected from a dealership. The professional attitude of Chief, their service writer, again exceeded any reasonable expectations. They did this in the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic.All this at a reasonable and fair cost. I have no reservations in recommending their shop and team for automotive service. They make buying local a real pleasure.

TJ and his guys did a first rate job on my truck. Highly recommend!

I was quoted $309 over the phone for rear brake pads. When I got there the man helping me says it will be $417. I told him I was quoted $309, he said hed check with the woman I talked to. Then he comes back and says she quoted me for American pads and he priced European pads. I was in the Auto Parts business for many years. There is no such thing as American or European pads. There is OEM and aftermarket. So he tells be it will be $325, the difference ($309 vs $325) being that she didnt include the sensor. However, the sensor was $50. He lied again! They might do good work, but I wont return and either will my friends and relatives.

I was so happy to find this place right across from where I live. It took a few tries to figure out the problem but they were able to easily give me a loaner car and kept me updated on the progress. The price is fair and the people are super nice!

Im a auto technician myself and unfortunately I didnt have the time or place to do the replacement of the water pump on my Ford Flex because its driven by the timing chain and not a quick fix and after calling around TJ Crossmans had the best quote. For 25 years when I was in La Mesa I had a mechanic that could listen to my Mercedes purr and hear what needed to be done. He never gouged me and never left the tops of the battery like a big dealership did. Great shop! Honest and fair.

First off let me say there people are great, friendly, and knowledgeable. Let me just explain why this place is not for me and do not let it deter you from coming here. First we got the wifes car done here for a replacement thermostat, which now runs fine. They got the job done but also added charges for inspecting clamps and hoses, a quite large charge I may add, for parts you are already looking at and working with. They also added for draining coolant and refilling which you must do when replacing a thermostat, as it begins to drain when you undo the clamps.For my car it was simply my brakes pads and rotors which would have ran me $300 dollars at this shop. Also a new wheel they couldnt find except for $200 from the manufacturer, but I got a new one for $70 at a wheel dealership. That job was around $370 at the shop even though the wheels are off while replacing the rotors. All in all I spent $150 and 45minutes of my time doing what would have cost me approx $700 at this shop.Again these are great people only doing their job and they need to make a profit, but just to too much of an extent for me to come back, they will get the job done but not for me.

We found TJ Crossmans Auto Repair earlier this year when we got our first issue with our car. They were fantastic then, and they are fantastic now! The staff was very enjoyable to work with, and would fully explain to us the issues they found, as well as the avenues we can take. Their recommendations on services helped us maintain the vehicle and possibly prevented any further issues that may arise!

Only needed an oil change and tire rotation, but even the simple stuff is done well. So many places overcomplicate or try to sell you on extras to meet some monthly quota. Was able to talk directly with a person and schedule for the next morning. And even though the bays were already full, they still got me in and out in less than 2 hours. Ill be back for my next scheduled maintenance

Last week TJ fixed our car. It is perfect!! It has been rattling and vibrating for a very long time and now is quieter than when we got it... back in 2013. Thank you so much TJ. I’m now trying to get used to the silence!!!

Went here because I was buying a used car near by and wanted it checked out before I made the purchase. I picked this place because of the good reviews. I have to say they treated me great from the start and made me feel like they were really looking out for my best interest and wanted to make sure I didnt buy a lemon.The price was fair and the service was great...5 stars for sure.

Great mechanics and great people, Ive been coming here for years now since they are the most reliable with my two problematic Volkswagens. They are always quick and I have never had a problem with any repairs from them like I have with other mechanics. They do a fantastic job and they have also helped me when I have been fixing my car and got stuck, I gave them a call and TJ told me exactly what I needed to do and I got the job done at my house. We were on vacation from Oregon heading to Oceanside to see our daughter and son-in-law. On the downside of the Grapevine digital lights started to display and make sounds. We limped into Oceanside and our son-in-law recommended TJ Crossman as a repair shop. He had work done on his vehicle and was very pleased. Our issue ended up to be wiring between the transmission and engine. As anyone knows, wiring issues are the most difficult to trace and repair. Their code reader indicated it was a transmission failure. Ricky wanted extra to analyse to confirm the problem. They ended up finding a wire harness that was too close to theexhaust pipe and repaired it. The shop and labor cost was very reasonable. We HIGHLY recommend TJ Crossman for your auto repairs. They are 10 out of 10 in our book.Rex and Kris

This place cares about doing a great job. They look for ways to make your service experience better. They set the bar high and somehow they just keep doing more. 1st time I stopped in to get my old PT Cruiser repaired, they loaned me one of their own cars until the repair was completed! This time they had someone actually waiting for me when I arrived, to shuttle me to Hertz for a day loaner costing pocket change. They always keep you informed and their prices are the best that I have found in town, bar none. They know what they are doing and they always look for ways to save me cash. I recommend TJ and the crew to all my friends, without reservation.

Way overpriced

I read all of the reviews and thats why I trusted this group. I had shocks and struts and brakes done there. 20k miles later and I had to replace rotors on one side and had to replace the struts again. 2k worth of work redone. I dont trust them enough to rework the failures. My name is John Bailey if Crossman wants to know the guy they screwed.

I love this place! Our family has 2 older vehicles and we have had both of them serviced here. They are very friendly, honest and approachable. Straight forward estimates and the work couldnt be more thorough. I will be back every time my car or truck needs attention!

Have done multiple work here, and everything turns out great. Generally fair prices, but at one point I went in to get my brake pads changed, and they told me the back ones were fine and I just needed the front ones. Well, they started squealing a month later and I knew I shouldve had them both done. I had a buddy do them, and they were cracking and worn down to nothing, so theres no way they were fine when I had them serviced at TJs. I learned they were kind of a tedious job since they are drum pads so it is way more difficult than the front ones. Dont get me wrong, they do good work, but Ill definitely get a second opinion if I go back.

It can be difficult to find an honest and reputable mechanic that you can trust and that will stand behind there work performed. My experience is that TJ Crossmans Auto Repair is a shop that anyone can count on and trust. He is always able to work on my vehicle as promised with very reasonable cost and complete as promised. Never tells you all this additional repairs that need to be completed like most other shops. TJ diagnosis the problem and repairs it correctly. I have an engineering and construction company and need to rely on 3 older trucks to perform when we need them. I also have several cars that need regular service. I really need to have a relationship with a service company in Vista.Ive been going to T.J. Crossmans for 2 years and Ive really felt that theyve bent over backwards to help on several occasions. Im a very skeptical guy and these guys totally won me over. Theyre knowledgeable and get things done on schedule. Theyve even made a few parts hard to find parts for an older vehicle.I would highly recommend these guys! They are one of the few service companies that I trust.

I’m just going to keep this simple: unethical repairs done to my vehicle last week. I paid over $700 in repairs right before I had to leave for NorCal just to leave with new mechanical problems and the same ones coming back. Instead of actually repairing and replacing what needed to be replaced, they made temporary adjustments. Basically, it’s like duct taping a water hose full of holes instead of replacing the entire thing. Hey thanks guys.

I found TJ on google, and was drawn in by the courtesy tow offer he has. Soon as my classic buick got to him he got right down to business. He not only fixed what was wrong but threw in some other repairs to have my baby running better then when I bought her. I respect TJ to the highest caliber because he didnt just treat me like a customer he treated me like family and wasnt just a money hungry mechanic like 75% of the field is filled with. I will not only continue to go to TJ for all of my vehicles needs but recommend to all of my family and friends to see him. If you need an honest mechanic this is the place to go. My car wouldnt start one evening and I was getting ready to call TJ crossman for assistance. Just so happens he pulled up to where I work. He was able to get my car started so I could go home and assured me it would be drivable. He told me to bring it to the shop and he would take care of the problem. I took my car over to shop and he was able to correct the problem that was causing the malfunction in my vehicle.
