This was my first time at the rec center, going for the pool. It is so nice!! Definitely more geared towards kids- water slide, water okay ground area both in the pool and outside. Our kids had a blast! Theres 3 swim lanes for laps. At least 2 life guards were on duty while we were there for open swim. A day off for kids is $8 and for adults its $10. Not bad!

My family loves Williams Farm! Our first experience was when my little girl was enrolled in the Preschool Buddies program and summer camps there a few years ago. As a non-swimmer, I recently experienced the Sprayground for the first time and cannot wait to go back! The staff has always been pleasant and super helpful each time we visit. Great place!

Front desk staff are always friendly. I would recommend them, but don’t go with friends. The male trainer will make sly comments under his breath to the older bald gentleman. They will watch us the whole time. Trainer says he feels bad for our one friend because we aren’t helping him with his deadlift yet obviously at the same time has a problem with us all being at the gym together. Should I mention we all do our own workouts, only in the same area if someone needs a spot? Seems like it’s always only us getting targeted. What would you like us to do? Not support our friends and their goals? We like to hang out so why not at the local gym? Highly unprofessional! We go to this gym because it’s not a Onelife or commercial gym. Less intimidating and then you have people who want to bug you. No other trainer or staff member harasses us just those two.

Amazing facility but dumbbells and the stands they sit on are disgusting. In fact, the db stand area smells awful and everything needs well cleaned.

I love walking the Aqua Track. The first time I was so sore the next day but, after a few times I felt so good. It made my legs stronger. It made me feel better about myself.

Williams Farm is a beautiful Rec center. I love the Aquatrack as well as the Freeweight room and walking track. Staff is always nice and the place is always clean. Great value for your money

Treadmills never work and when ya do it’s on browser and there’s no volume button no thanks but I’d rather hear

I spent $64 for my kids and they told me they couldnt swim in the pool unless they make a registration but this was after we paid. Then we transferred it to bow creek and the persn on the phone said we have from 4:30 to 8:00,but when we get there they say we only have until 5:00 so we asked for our money back and we got it back but just be sure you be careful when you do a monthly payment.🤨😡

My son and I LOVE this rec center! The ladies at the front desk are so kind and ready to help. I have a 2.5 year old that attends the center and all of his teachers are amazing, very sweet, and patient with the children. They’re always doing different learning activities. The love they express to my little one reflects as soon as he enters the center. He smiles from ear to ear and runs to his teachers with a big hug :) and that to me is very important. The fact that I feel at peace leaving my son there while I’m at work is priceless. Thanks to everyone for making our experience a terrific one.

Everytime I come here as a card carrying member there is an issue with the staff. I have been a member of the Virginia Beach Recreation Centers since 2014, and all of them provide a good value for the money spent as a resident.However, this club is the exception and is always problematic. Their staff is always a deterrent to simply getting a decent workout and staying physically fit in a fun and safe manner.Whether it be in the summertime and simply just trying to use the pool while sitting on the side supervising some kids, or in the basketball gym and being told that I have to give them my card and am unable to place my jacket in the bleachers (because my phone is in the pocket and am on call for work)... ALWAYS A PROBLEM.There is a huge difference between actual customer service and just being employed in a customer service based industry. This place rivals some of my worst customer service experiences in my life. It stinks all the way from the lackadaisical attitude of all the front desk personnel to the downright rude gym staff and supervisors. They were lucky enough to even have a job much less having my taxes go to keeping them employed.Do yourself a favor and go to any of the other Rec Centers... you will thank me. This place sucks.

Staff and the location are great. Even if it were 3x the cost it would be a worthwhile deal, $100/year is such an amazing offering you dont get in other cities.

Wonderful sized facility for everyones needs. I used to go to Kempsville but their weight room is way to small and gets over-run with high school kids who unfortunately need a lesson on proper free-weight training (thats another story). I do have to agree with some comments on the staff, not being the most friendly, but overall you cant beat the price, quality of equipment, and cleanliness anywhere! Really glad I live in Virginia Beach!

I was tasked to deploy and had 5 months left on my membership. When I returned I explained the situation to the phone attendant and they would not honor the time I spent fighting for our country. I have many documents that prove I was overseas...the lady on the phone didnt even try to understand that I was telling her. Not to mention, you must scan in during each visit. If shed pulled those records she would have known I was telling the truth....Update 23 April - Williams Farm saw my review and showed a genuine concern about my situation. They actually called me in an accommodated the months I had remaining on my membership. I honestly was not trying to make waves with my post. I was just telling my situation. This is a great location to get a workout in and its always clean and never packed.

This place is great. Staff welcomes you in and has been able to help whenever I have a question. Tons of equipment and clean. Superior value for the money if you are a Va Beach resident.

Built to support the youth a tough community. The rec center is top notch. Upstairs gym, track above basketball courts. If the indoor courts are full...go to the outddoor court. Pool has 156ft water slide that will spin your head. Kids pool area and plenty of lifeguards on duty.

I come here all the time because of the facilitys proximity from my place. Clean area, decent equipment. The staff can be hit & miss with their customer service. Some days they can be very nice and other days it can be a complete 180. Overall, great place! Maybe extra equipment in the high volume areas.

I love this place and everything is there, a gym, pool, and so much more. I do feel however that the staff can be rude somewhat. Also their is a kind of blandness to the place and coulb be more welcoming or colorful and lively.

Had a wonderful time spending with my father and working out with him

I love this place! The only thing I wish they would change is the schedule on Saturdays. Closing at 5pm is to early. Wish it was open until at least 8pm.

I LOVE indoor track and the well lit workout area. This place is always clean. Membership is only $106.00 a year for residents.

The chlorine smell in the pool area was too strong. Extremely uncomfortable if you have asthma or other breathing ailment. They need to really open a door...check their chemicals better etc. The water was a bit cold in comparison to other indoor pools. The slide is fun, goes into 3 feet...no swim test needed to enjoy it. But it was just too cold, too smelly...couldnt enjoy this place if it were cold out.

Had just about everything and more. Great place to stay in shape.

Big facility. Its got everything you need. Huge pool area. Running track. And the place is just beautiful. Im thankful its right down the street from me.

Since early June,this no warm or hot water sign has been posted to indicate a plumbing issue that can be addressed by local plumbing supply companies, or at least have the needed part(s) delivered through ANY of the express shipping services. Ah,but try using Their line of excuses to delay a membership payment and see how far it gets you. And they really need to monitor some of the unruly behavior within the locker room at times.I hate to say it, but the hot water is out again. When I finished the workout, I literally froze in the shower. Germ control is very important to merely all of us and having HOT water available would help too. Im going to shop around on my day off for commercial fitness center competition and pay them this membership fee instead. Goodbye.

I love this new rec center in Virginia Beach! The locker rooms are spacious and clean and only cost .25 to use the lockers. The swimming area is probably the best indoor pool with a water slide, rock wall, and great kids play area.

This place is great, my 10yr old son loves the indoor water park & while hes playing I can workout in the full scale gym upstairs, $5 for my son to get in & $8 for me makes a great break away from home. The staff is always nice & helpful & I met some great people. Will be back next weekend.

The closing times are completely ridiculous, almost all gyms stay open later. Plus they close at random times and are overly generous with holidays. I pay a subscription to your gym, every other business that works this way is available for their customers. These items need to be fixed as a first priority to be competitive with even the cheapest private gyms.

The part of the rec center that I use, is the weight area and I can really on comment on that portion. There are plenty of cleaning spray bottles and microfiber towels to wipe down the machines and everyone seems consistent with this process - which is nice. The locker rooms are good enough and the bathrooms seem clean. The equipment is up to date, however I do think there is a lack of Hammer Strenth (plate loaded) Machines and for that reason, I will have to give 4 stars instead of 5. Its a nice gym but is lacking a little bit in diversity of equipment. A Hammer Chest Press with the attached Lat Pulldown would be a great addition.

I’ve come here a lot due to the nice facility and usually the nice staff but recently I’ve been having health issues which prevent me from going swimming so I was sitting on the pool deck as they call it completely away from the water and got told that if I didn’t have a bathing suit on under my clothes I needed to leave the area. So I can’t sit out there to watch my husband and son swim but every other time we’ve come I’ve seen atleast 5 people sitting in the same area I was fully clothed with no bathing suit on and never stepped foot into the pool and they never got told to leave. Your lifeguards should not pick and choose when to enforce the so called rule. It should be all the time. Maybe you should teach your lifeguards the rules. Also another lifeguard wearing an Apple Watch and texting on it while she’s on the lifeguard stand is unbelievable and unsafe.

My kids really enjoy it but I dont get much swim time because they close it for rock climb. The water is really salty and cloudy. That makes me nervous but since the kids enjoy it Im fine.

Not sure the logic that a parent cannot be in the pool area with clothes. The supervisor told me it was a health code violation. Meanwhile, the life guards have shorts and shirts on. Not to mention the room we were in for a kids party has one of the exit doors adjacent to the pool area blocked. If an emergency were to happen or a fire occured we would be trapped. Supervisor choose not to disucss any of the issues or have a logical conversation.Maybe my religion does not allow me to expose or wear certain garments?Who is protecting my toddlers if they need to use the restroom?Truly disappointing that i cant sit peacefully on the side of pool and watch my kids.

I loved it the pool is now so warm now go there in the winter time and the pool is still warm during all seasons. Pool is only 3ft good for the kids. No drowning

Catch 22 review. While the facility is nice. I work the typical 8-5 Monday through Friday so when I go, the overflow parking lot is usually full and I have to wait to park, then wait to get on a cardio machine, etc. Too many members and not enough equipment. At least for weight room and cardio machines, there needs to be 5x the current number of equipment. I plan to cancel my membership.

This recreation center is lovely. It has a gym of course, separate walking track around the gym as well as in the pool area. There is a large basket court which is used by toddlers up to senior citizens for several activities. The staff is friendly and the center is clean.

Called bow creek rec to inquire about enrolling my 2 in a half year old daughter. They told me they accept ages starting at 2 in half but to go to Williams farm rec, as they had open slots. Went to William farm rec to get application to enroll. Spoke with one rep where I had to ask all the questions of what to expect and what was needed(completely clueless and made the process complicated and long). I had to come back another day to enroll my daughter. I come in get her enrolled, I get walked to the class and informed that she has to be potty trained. No where in the 3 times I spoke with 3 different employees about enrolling my 2 in a half year old was I informed about her needing to be potty trained. Less then 10 mins after I enrolled her I told them to refund my money. I start a new job tomorrow and now I have to wait 48 hours to get my refund back and I have no child care. This is highly unprofessional. There was no welcoming packet, a list if requirements or supplies needed to attend. A list of what to expect my child would be doing day to day. It was super unprofessional and I lost compete faith in the program. They have now jepordised my new job because of how unprofessional they are and lack of a system they have.

This would be a great place if the hags at the front desk/ office werent there. Also the pool is phenomenal- too bad its always too cold. The price is unbeatable; unfortunately if you have a toddler youll have to find your own child care.

It is a good building. Basketball court down stairs, game rooms down stairs, and gym up stairs, and pool down stairs and there is a outside basketball court too it is a good place to play

Great pool, but a little frustrated that we couldnt use the completely empty (!) outdoor fenced-in playground or access any items for use with small children (toys, play areas) because we were told they are for use only for paid-childcare services. As in, unless you pay extra, you cant use any of the recreational items for children. AT A RECREATIONAL CENTER. For which wed paid for memberships to! So we have to travel to a different center location, where we are allowed to use the playground?? Very disappointing.

I live just 5 mins away and i go to bayside middle i stay there for like 3-5 hours on Wednesday and Friday and Saturday it is really fun there and i play basketball and that bbcourt is kinda wack but still fun:)

Very nice place. It can get packed however, overall you will not find as many activities to keep you and your family active anywhere else nearby. Huge place.

I live in norfolk but to use the rec center its only $8 for a day pass. I use it for the pool and splash pad. My daughter loves it there! Everyone is always so friendly and its very clean!!

This place is amazing! You have to check it out. There is so much to do, for every age group and for every level of physical activity. Theres the huge indoor pool and a resistance track - which is basically: waist high water with jets blowing causing a current and you walk against the current (resistance). Youd be surprised that you get a pretty good cardio workout without the pain of impact from running....Only negative is that certain lifeguards let little kids screw around in the track & look the other way. Ive seen them splash & bump into the elderly on occasion. ( not all the time) but for me once is too much!All in all - a lot of fun and a bargain for the price!

Great facility for the money! Indoor pool with slide like the ones youd see at the water park. The weight room is good too. Lots of cardio equipment, free weights and machines.

Nice gym, especially for only 12 bucks a month. Could use more free weight benches though. Gets packed in the evening.

Amazing fun with great activities and friendly staff. We love coming here.

My Favorite Place Also Relatively Close To Home. Most Of Staff Are Nice And Some Just Come To Work. The Facility Is Nice.

Clean, good staff, and well equipped.

Child fell bruised and bleed. They didnt do anything but put an ice pack on it, had us fill out what happened (while my child couldnt stand and too cold to fill out paper work in their Life Guard office)... and sent us on our way. It was a pretty bad bruise too. Child got it from falling on the slippery path climbing up to the kiddie slide. Child was walking!2nd incident - Water temperature too cold for most people I heard complaining. Chlorine level was SKY HIGH. Chlorine caused my entire family to break out in rashes, leaving skin dry and patchy in some places and burning all over. Im pregnant and I had to get out an hour earlier than the rest of my family because all of a sudden I felt my breasts hurting (TMI but the level of chlorine and/or temperature change caused it). It was an all over very painful experience. I wish the rec was better managed. The pool is awesome, but the staff I think sucks.

It was a great place but in the mens locker room there were men walking around nude so i would advise you to watch your kids in the locker room

Gym & staff are awesome! Teens destroy the lockerroom after using the pool though. Water on the floors everywhere.

Indoor pool is big with slide, rock wall, kiddie features, basketball and lazy river. Outdoor sprinkler set up with alot of different features. All day pass $9 adults and $7 for kids. All day gives you access to pools, basketball court, fitness center and any programs. Not at bad deal if you have kids.

The staff at this location are horrible; they are rude, do not seem willing to work, and act as if they have never been trained to do their jobs. I took care of a year membership for my whole family. However, every time I go to this location we are stopped going and told our membership cards are only registration cards and we do not have memberships. I do not plan on returning to this location again!!!

Is not that great,the gym is small, locker rooms are really tiny and there are little amenities like saunas or steaming room usually over crowed.Oh and customer service sucks cant expect much though is a government run facility
