Love this gym! Ive been going for a couple years, and its always been a welcoming, fun, judgement-free environment. The workouts never get boring and the coaches are all great!

Ive been going here for almost a year now and its one of the best gyms Ive ever joined. Im in much better shape than I was when I first joined. The staff is very knowledgeable and professional. Its a fun energetic time every time I attend with a plethora of different classes so you wont get bored. Coach Rell will get you right!

One of the best UFC gyms I have had the pleasure of working out at. Equipment is very well maintained and does well not to accumulate foot traffic. The classes offered are tailored to each individuals needs and trainers are extremely friendly and knowledgeable. Weather youre a beginner or Pro, UFC gyms have something to offer! Highly recommend!

Nice little gym that is affordable for day passes if youre just passing through. They have limited weight lifting equipment, but there was enough to get by. Especially because the gym was pretty much empty both times I went in the middle of the day. I met 3 of their employees and all were VERY helpful and friendly. If youre looking now for group no classes, general fitness, or personal training I would absolutely recommend this gym.

If you want to better yourself, there is no better place to get it done.

Edit: the new manager, Chelsea, is turning the issues they had on the admin side around. They were able to refund me the fees charged when my paperwork wasnt processed by the old management staff.The gym itself is good, coaches are solid and all the classes I took (BJJ) had a great environment. Admin on the other hand is non-existent and simply terrible.I had to pause my membership and they never processed the paperwork until I saw them continue to charge me two months after I submitted the paperwork. Fast forward a couple months later and I had to cancel my membership and again they didnt process the paperwork and are still charging me. Thats now three months where Ive been either paused or canceled and theyve charged me. At $79 a month. Because they didnt process the paperwork.

The coaches here are great but administration is awful I cancelled my membership in January or February and have been billed March, April and May. And when I call no one answers the phone or I get put on hold and no one ever answers the phone so that I can get refunded for the months I wasn’t supposed to get charged as all the necessary paperwork was put in place to cancel my membership

This gym is great you get access to so much for a fair price, they offer private lessons for anyone, and the coaches make you feel really comfortable with learning everyone’s and everyone is interested in coaching people who want to learn I have been going to this gym for about three years now consistently, it’s been my home. They also allow you to try them out a session before joining to see how you like it, if you’re curious

Mr. J. Rell was excellent with my Special Needs son. I was impressed with the detailed workout and the atmosphere that was provided😀😀😀

Coaches are fine, admin is horrible. Constantly charging my debit card MORE than what the membership is. Like $40 more. Can’t even get in touch with anyone to cancel my membership. Also, it is a class setting, so if you want to learn MMA, find a privately owned local gym and get some one on one.

Great talent

Ive been here for 3 years. I was like 170lbs starting off and was consistent with taking classes and started training one on one with Coach Karhim and Coach Tasha. Ive been to gyms around the area and the UFC Gym VB is the absolute best. I love all the classes, I took the DUTS, Womens BJJ, the boxing conditioning classes, MATRX, but Ive really benefited with personal training sessions. I love the atmosphere and all the people.

UPDATED 1/1/2019: updated from 2 to 3 stars. Will, one of the owners, contacted me the day I wrote my initial review and resolved the situation for me today. He expressed that he is working on a resolution for this so that future members do not have this same issue. Again, the trainers are great and the classes are wonderful! Communication was the main issue I had. Initial review 12/30/18: I loved this gym when I signed up. The trainers and the classes were great, everyone remembers you when you come in and are all really interested in your health. I had to cancel my membership due to financial reasons and the fact the I hadn’t been to the gym in about 6 months and was wasting my money. The first time I went to cancel, they talked me into putting my account on hold so I had more time to decide. They made it sound like it was for my best interest but failed to explain that I would still be charged $2.50 each month it was on hold (I get it, it’s only $2.50, but it’s the principle of the matter). So I went back to cancel in December, 4 days after my bill date. I specifically asked if I would be charged the annual cleaning fee due the next month, and Brittany said no. When I called and spoke to the GM to confirm my cancellation, he informed me I actually would be charged the cleaning fee, even though I would not be a member for the rest of the year, plus one more month of membership (even though you pay the first and last month upfront and makes no sense). He pretty much said there was nothing he could do about it and wasn’t willing to work with me but I could technically use the gym for the next 60 days and he will talk to his staff again about communication. I am really disappointed because I loved going to the gym and used to speak so highly of it to others. I would listen to the reviews, save your money and find a private instructor or different gym if you want to learn MMA.

If you want to have repeat administration issues, sign up! Not only do they not know how to properly input a membership, but they will also give you continuous billing issues, lose your paperwork, and try to get more money out of you. The trainers are great, but honestly, its not worth all of the administrations incompetence. Save your sanity and your time.

My son and I joined UFC Gym last September and we love it... I like the variety of classes they offer, you can always switch it up.. The staff is very knowledgeable, friendly and energetic. I highly recommend this gym, you won’t regret it!!

This isnt my blend of coffee, yet I must admire from driving past by how clean it looks. The location resides within a higher prestige of Virginia Beach, more so in shopping. Seems like a nice place for serious sweating, so sweat on lads

I joined UFC gym about a month ago and so far I love every bit of it! Its the most bang for your buck youll find in Hampton roads, the staff is amazing, the coaches really know what theyre doing! I even got my Wife hooked on it now

Coaches and classes are great, but not much else. I should have written this a while back since that is when my disaster experience occurred with this place, but I had forgotten about it until I was out running errands the other day and a young lady that appeared to work here approached me with some type of pass asking for my information. (That’s not intrusive at all). I declined instantly as I remembered the fiasco I endured with this place. I had cancelled because I never used it as much as I thought I would. Gym on base is much more convenient. I went in and filled out the cancellation form as required and thought that was the end of it. Well, I got charged the next month and thought it was a mistake so I called to get the charge reversed since they require that you pay for first AND last months at signing so why was I being charged AGAIN for last months dues after cancelling? (Ask former members because this is an apparent trend here with people who cancel) Never got that refund so I cancelled the credit card on file for precautionary measures and left it at that. Then I get emails saying I’m still being charged three consecutive months beyond that plus late fees and for what reason? Your guess is better than mine! I was unaware that my account was never cancelled nor was I aware of the charges stacking up against me. I called to see what the problem was and a guy answered saying that Devin wasn’t in. This pretty much was the routine for the next week as every time I called, despite speaking to different front desk people, the manager wasn’t there” or my messages urging for the manager to call me back would “be given to the manager as soon as he walked in”. One lady I spoke with even took it upon herself to go look for my cancellation form to see if it had been processed or what was holding it up. She told me she “found it, but it still wasn’t processed” and this is months later mind you. Then she began apologizing profusely as she described that “this happens all the time”. I was truly at a loss for words. I asked if there was anyone else who could help me and she said unfortunately he was the only person who had the ability to cancel memberships. So the fact that my membership wasn’t cancelled when the form was filled out was red flag number one. Red flag number two is the fraudulent charges still being charged to my account despite a form clearly stating my intent to cancel. Red flag number three was a nonexistent manager who either wasn’t doing his job or just didn’t care. If they think I’m going to pay those charges they can keep living in that pipe dream because I did what was required on my part. They are the ones who did not follow through and they will never see another dime from me. What’s worse is that I am not the only one who’s experienced this as the lady mentioned many people call about this and various other problems. I do NOT recommend this place to anyone unless you want to be tangled in a trap with worthless “management”. Once they’ve got you in the door and signing your life away on the digital pad you’re nothing but a dollar sign to them. Good luck with that business model.

If I could rate it lower than one star I would. I have been trying to cancel my membership because of not only how messy their administration is but also because of how often Im being charged and not being notified until its too late. They also didnt inform me correct information that I needed to close my membership.. classes were usually okay when I would go but now Ive gotten to the point where I dont see much use at this gym. Not sure if its the location or the gym itself..

I stopped going there 6 months ago. And I cancelled my account, and they still charged me for my 2 kids $69 each which is $140 in total. Also I talked to the manager and he told me the manager before him didn’t know what she was doing and he completely refused to refund my money and he said there was nothing he could do to me. Because of the previous manager’s fault. In total this place has one of the worst customer service and I don’t recommend this place for anybody.

Great encouragement and judgment free zone. All the classes come with membership and you can go to as many as you want per day (so long as your body can handle them). Highly recommend this gym specifically.

Poor communication, every time I tried making contact I received no feedback. I decided to cancel my membership due to this and lack of going to the gym. I was assured my account was closed yet I was charged again after the fact even though I payed for last months membership fee upon becoming a member of the gym. Ill have to go back and settle it.

Ive joined the gym after a pass that I have received. When I tell you that this gym is the greatest, it is. Ive become a regular here, about 5 times a week a least. Where else can you get coaches that know you by name, know where you can improve, and motive you at the same time. This gym provides classes such as Zumba, kickboxing, Muay Thai, and so much for kids to adults. The classes are friendly to beginners and also can even challenge experts. I enjoy coming here and improving everyday. Come in and check them out.

Previously I had written a one star review because of the negative experience I had with the GM Tim. I recently reached out to the owner Will and he was not only professional but he was able to fix the issue. I would be happy to return because of the OWNER!.

Joined this gym in August 2016 and started my first DUT workout in July 2016 at the oceanfront. The Coaches motivate me to have a healthy life and they push me to getting a awesome workout!I was a social smoker when I first started but my first actual DUT class I did with the gym, kicked that bad habit to the curve for me! I can truly thank this gym for inspiring me to do things I can do now!Thank you UFC Gym Virginia Beach for everything! I consider you all as my true Family!

Amazing classes and great staff. Coaches are well trained and can give you variations of the classes to meet your level of fitness as well

Very dissapointed they closed today Sunday at 1400 and the website says 1600, i was basically kicked out. The worst gym ever, Military Highway is the best one, i would never go back there.

5 stars, because it is a fairly new location (Opened Sept. 2017) and I have free reins to all of the equipment when I go, early in the mornings. Friendly staff, clean facility, and some BANGIN trap music to workout to!

Horrible communication, gym is great (its a franchise) BUT.... We had 3 memberships which I had to cancel due family emergency and personal injuries. We were confirmed with confirmation emails that membership is cancelled and refund has been issued. But funds got never released for 2 of our accounts. This has been a battle for last 3 months. Countless number of phone calls to resolve this and already visited the facility a few times but each time it gets procrastinated that we will take care of it but nothing gets done. Now one my frozen account is past due...TBH, go to real academy if you really want to learn MMA, this place might be a great place for a class workout but it is not teaching you much as an martial art.Edit: Moving it to 3 stars from 1 star, since Devin (the current manager) is awesome and trying to resolve the issue.

I have been having an absolute blast the past few months at the new UFC Gym. I used to bodybuild and stick to weight training, maybe some cardio here and there. Now I am taking boxing and kickboxing classes regularly. Ive dropped 12lbs of fat, and maintained most of my muscle.The endorphins are back, and I feel like I did when I first started training at 19 (35 now), and will be living the fight life until I cant throw a punch anymore! lolIts a great environment and is not intimidating at all. Coaches and Staff are A+, and the one on one sessions have been highly effective in teaching me proper technique and giving me an intense workout at the same time. You are only as good at this stuff, as when you are tired and worked to the bone, and digging deep is why its all worth it!

This gym is awesome specially the coaches Mandi, kahrim, Paul, Tasha, William and kadhafi. They took me from no experience to a great understand of MMA. Brittany is amazing at the front desk with greeting and making the UFC gym a great place to come into
