Had a major renovation on my home with numerous rooms & projects. Outstanding job!!!! Some minor hiccups, burps and issues (as expected), but they will do whatever it takes until you are satisfied. Special thanks, gratitude and appreciation to Steve Twiddy and all the help he provided to ensure everything was the way I wanted it and the job wasnt done until I was 100% satisfied no matter how minor. I Highly recommend. Anything I threw at them they took it, ran with it and completed it without worry. Will definitely have JB Design do more work on my home.
Our kitchen remodel process started 8 weeks ago (originally a 4-6 week timeline)and I cannot see that like at the end of the tunnel. They go days without having anyone show up to do any work. My wife and I are more aware of who’s doing what because the “PM” is rarely available. We have to constantly guess what’s going because no one is here the majority of the time. There is always rework needing to be done, when if the PM was on site more the discrepancies could immediately be rectified. All we get from them is “I’m sorry.” We have not had a full week of production since the process began. We are on our 2nd PM, and was assured by the owner that we have “his attention,” but nothing has improved. It’s to the point that the owner has become unresponsive himself. At this point, STAY AWAY, unless you have time to run the job yourself. When the job is complete I may update review, as of right now this has been a completely horrendous experience.
I am very pleased with the results of my construction project which included the remodeling of my kitchen and the renovation of my outdoor storage shed. From their detailed design process with 3-D like drawings of the planned finished project to the timeliness of the project completion, Cheryl and her team proved to be very capable with great skills and excellent communication practices. I really enjoyed working with them and I will look forward to working with J B Design and Remodeling in the future.
What a great group to have work for you. This team was very professional and personal when doing my remodel. They handled any issues or concerns that I brought to their attention. My kitchen looks amazing and my wife is so happy with the outcome.
My wife and I were lucky to find JB Design. In our efforts to sell our vintage 1976 home we learned that the foundation needed serious attention. Delay would have been more expensive for us than biting the bullet on the cost and addressing all issues. Not only did Brian and Shawn tackle the problems but they came in on time and within our budget. This was not an easy task. Their competition either bid a higher priced, wanted to sub portions of the project or couldnt begin the repairs for several weeks. JB finished with a great job! We highly recommend this company. You will not be disappointed.
As a subcontractor that worked with them, I would recommend no one work with this company, they are unprofessional in handling sub contractors, they do not pay us and then do not respond, they asked us to do half correct work and just make it pretty instead of making it right, and then did not pay for the work that we did. We were working on 4 projects at one time for them and when we were almost completely finished they hired other tile and floor guys after we had laid 95% of the floors and tile and then refused to pay us for the work we did. Their work is substandard and is dont completely out of order, they do not know how to build in the proper order, and cost everyone time and money, then want to blame us, the subs and the contractors they hire. Project managers have no clue how to actually run a job.
My bathroom is really awesome! Brian and his team did an absolute wonderful job. If you are looking for a good remodel team. Call JB Design and Remodeling.
Awesome company used them to remodel my kitchen, on-time and the finished product looks great.Brian and Aaron fulfilled all promises. Ive already recommended them to all my friends and family .
After vetting several remodelers, we decided to go with JB Design & Remodeling to update our kitchen. Brian and his team were extremely knowledgeable, flexible and helpful. Our kitchen turned out beautiful and we are pleased with the experience. We will go back to JB Design & Remodeling to handle our future projects!
If you are looking for quality work and honest folks you have found the right company! This company takes pride in quality craftsmanship as well as successful customer service.
We recently bought a brand new construction home and decided to remodel the kitchen. Initially, I had six contractors come look at the project. Brian was by far the most knowledgeable, personable and professional person that I met with. He had an eye for detail and made intuitive recommendations that no one else had suggested. Brian’s price was fair and honest. Our project manager, Jennifer was friendly, quick to respond and was in our home overseeing the work almost daily. Both Brian and Jennifer listened to our needs and concerns and really cared about delivering exceptional work. We absolutely love our new kitchen! We enjoyed working with the entire team at JB Designs, so much so that we have already hired them for another home project. Thank you Brian, Jennifer and team!Michelle Ruedisueli
This contractor was just what I needed to totally renovate my kitchen. They were very good at ensuring all my wants were included in the project. They got the demo done quickly and ensured the rest of the home was isolated from dust and construction debris. All subs were professional and we had no issues with latent defects and never needed to get warranty work called in. I would use this company on any future construction work. Great job.
Unsafe: Bay window instal needed a complete wall knock out, JB Designs cut electrical wires and left live wires hanging on the floor. I noticed this one night while daughter was playing around the wind. They just turned off breaker, cut the wires, and turned breakers back on. Im lucky my daughter did not get shocked.Job Site Manager: showed up once a week, twice a week if I was lucky. Rarely performed a walk through as work progressed, continually missed quality assurance checks that eventually had to be re-done. Rarely took discrepancy notes which led to contractors having to back track and redo sub quality work. Once I asked him, do you want my print out of discrepancies, his statement was I have mental notes, its better that I write them down later in my own words.Painters: Had to repaint 3 times before JB Designs decided to get different painters. Painters got paint on furniture, television, and all over carpet. Painters were caught using my ladders, and after 2 times complaining, they finally stopped. Painters vehicle was a honda civic, so I imagine its inconvenient for them to fit a ladder in their car. workers spoke minimal/no english and JB Designs just replied upon me to translate as best I could.Electrician: JB Designs provided an electrician that never showed up and eventually just abandoned the job site. After months of not showing up, JB Designs had to find another electrician to finish the job. This led to even more delays and late contractual dates.JB Dsigns: Provided no port o potty until appr. 2 weeks into job. Contractors continually asked to use house bathroom even though contract stated on site port o potty was included. At one point, the on site dumpster was over flowing, debris began blowing out into my yard and neighbors yard. I had to notify JB Designs it was overflowing, after dumpster company pulled the dumpster for emptying....It did not come back, I had to gripe and complain to JB Designs to get it back on site. During this time, the contractors just piled up the debris in my front yard.Floated change orders: Change orders were not written up with cost and scale of work to be completed. On site manager just went ahead and started the jobs without writing up cost/scope of work/my consent. Second time they did this, I told them I was not paying for the work because we never discussed price, completion, and I was never given scope of work.Continually late, continually provided poor craftsmanship, worst of all unsafe.
My mother need her kitchen and bathroom remodeled to get a better price for her house. We found JB Design on home advisor We thought the price was good. So we chose them, they did a good job. demo was quick
Just wrapping up a full kitchen remodel and am very pleased with the final product. Brian, the owner, is very personable and was always very quick to address any concerns. Jennifer, my project manager, was the main person that I communicated with on the daily. She made sure everything was in order and was also very opened and prompt when it came to getting the job done!! Especially with me working full time during the project, she and Diane did a fabulous job ensuring the work space was not a hot mess when I got home😁!.... Which is so important especially when you hv a toddler running around and did I mention that I was pregnant in my last trimester ha! Before we started, I anticipated that things may not be completed on time due to various reasons. So mentally preparing myself on the time it was going to take helped keep me sane and the final product made everything worth it! I would highly recommend this company! I would definitely use them again for future projects and will have pictures posted shortly! Thanks JB Design for helping me with my dream kitchen!
Similar experience to Rich. Called for a quote, he came out. Spent lots of time and seemed knowledgeable. But then I never received the estimate. Called again and Brian said hed send it....but he never did. Odd way to do business. His ballpark was higher than others but I would have been willing to pay more for a quality job.
I would highly recommend JB Design and Remodeling. The timeline provided was spot on and the subcontractors were clean and kind. The PM was helpful as my project moved in a positive direction. What a great company and excellent workmanship!!
My wife and decided to go with JB to remodel our kitchen after a few other estimates. I must say from demo to completed product the guys were always friendly and able to answer all questions that I had, even on Fathers Day. Great service, great people, great products, highly recommend them if you are interested in a remodel. We had walls taken down, ceilings raised, new countertops, new cabinets, new lighting, paint, and they completed it all on time.
Bryan and Cheyrl Twiddy make such a great team, they were very responsive to all our request and came up with some outstanding options to work within our budget. They are both a pleasure to work with, their team including Bryans brother Steve were always available to answer any questions and take care of any last minute details. They did a fabulous job in our kitchen! I almost dont recognize it now since the makeover, its almost twice the storage area and fits so nicely within the same space. I would gladly hire them again.
I asked JB Designs & remodeling inc. (Brian) for an estimate on my kitchen remodel. We spent about an hour reviewing the design and he said he would get back to me with an estimate. He never did. After a few weeks I ordered the cabinets, cooktop, hood and everything else for my remodel and, once again I called JB Designs & Remodeling and spoke to Brian. We set an appointment date for Monday, 17 Sep at 9:00 AM. He didn’t show or call.l At 9:35 I called and left a message for him to give me a call back. He never did.I don’t know what is going on with that company but I will not do business with someone who treats me like that.I also will alert my friends and relatives about how JB Designs treated me.That is the worst customer relation I have ever experienced.JB Designs & Remodeling – stay away from them. They are bad news.
I scheduled to get quote for my kitchen and floor remodeling at 5. Waited for an hour and a half which the rep. never came. The Rep. didnt contact me at all. I contact the office several time, they stated they were going to contact the rep. to check what going on never got a call back. I was very upset and disappointed. My husband and I made arrangements so we can be available during that time, in the end didnt get a call back from the Rep and Rep. never came.
My wife is ecstatic about the kitchen remodel, it was on time and under budget. The crew are consummate professionals, polite and answered all questions in laymens terms.
Love, love, love the kitchen remodel from JB design! Bryan and Cheryl were great in providing design options and very up front with our best options for value vs costs with an older kitchen that was in dire need of an upgrade. Their design was wonderful and installed perfectly. We upgraded our countertop to granite, floors to LVT and cabinets to soft close all for a very reasonable price. Our original quote was modified several times as we needed to change our living room to LVP and add a door in our garage. Bryans team worked with me and showed up when we asked them to. JB Design get top marks in my book for Quality, Value and service. Check their reviews on Home Advisor!
I couldnt ask for a better job, totally professional. I had it all torn out and redone. They are the best I have ever dealt with and I am very picky.
The trades are hard working (but without guidance), the management is oblivious. Ending up costing Everyone time. We didnt want to go with a GC for everything because we know you get lower quality products and pay more. We went with JB Designs because they claimed to be Turn-Key and high quality. Was a huge hassle, and nothing really came out right. Brian was dishonest and told us they encapsulated the crawlspace on the new addition, but they did not. We had to pay to have that done. JBs electrician didnt hook back up all the wires in the breaker box, and we requested multiple times for a number of things to be corrected - even letting them know BEFORE they finalized the work about problems like: Missing the vent tubes under cabinet for the HVAC, improper door height and missing strike plates. Trim not being painted or finished. Gaps in flooring. Missing HVAC vent in Powder room. Improperly wired light switch for the smart lights on new walls. Kitchen Island just completely wrong. The drywall, trim, and cabinet installers were good. All the workers were friendly and solid workers. There was no planning or management. Hard workers for the guy, too bad they had little guidance and rarely were on site to complete the job (which went over time and over budget). We were insulted and basically called thieves. Plumber never came back to hook up gas line outside. Plumber took shortcuts and used 1/2 a conversion kit for the water heater causing our gas bill to double for a month - DOUBLE. And scalded my kid in the shower. HVAC guy broke our HVAC twice - left the trunk disconnected which burned out the motor and our house never went above 20 degrees. Then charged us to replace the capacitor. We called two plumbers to confirm we were not going crazy, and did a full HVAC check. We have photos of the cardboard wrapped capacitor. We eventually had to hire AMC 911 to repair damage they did under the house. (AMC 911 is great btw). Also - JB Designs put in a new pier under our home to offset the cause of the sagging floors. Well, guys from Bay Crawspace and AMC 911 both told us that they installed the pier about 18 off where it should have been. So, that was a waste and probably did more damage to the house when they jacked it up. Had to hire American Mechanical A1 to inspect and repair HVAC and Tankless Water. Ultimately Brian over promised, never provided an actual plan or timeline, then stopped showing up. Then called my wifes idea for her new kitchen stupid, then blatantly told us that we had planned on not paying him all along. *Note: this was AFTER the contract was already beyond the final end date - and we still couldnt move downstairs. We spent months doing dishes in the shower upstairs because we were promised this job would take weeks. I would not recommend JB Designs. We have had about a dozen contractors do more work (some new, and some to correct JB Designs failures) on our house in Shadow Lawn, and every one of them has said they feel badly for us when we show and explain what we went through w/ JB Designs. Forget about the waste of money - we lost a lot of our time. This was over $70k job. And was NOT the cheapest quote we had. And if you supply your own floor - be warned, they used hundreds of dollars over what was 120% of the sq footage. And if Brian tells you that its no problem, we can just use some leveling compound before you sign your contract. Get it in writing that he will actually be able to level your floors, because ours... not so level. And dont let his plumbers touch anything on your property. And forevermark cabinets are not water proof (got a splash of water on one of them and it bubbled up the wood over night)., they are cheap RTA cabinets that you can order online yourselves.
JB designs are very professional. Their work is wonderful!!
