Complaint Description:Work was not done as verbal contract was stated. Started work before giving written contract and charged more than double. Started work a day early and did not give me written contract until he had already tore up the driveway.Verbally gave me a price and more than doubled the cost on contract. Talked me into extra work and charged excessive amount to do it, not what he quoted me verbally. Driveway apron is not wide enough to move vehicles in and out without making ruts in dirt. Says that dump trucks did not come in yard yet the mast on corner of house that holds power lines was pulled over causing lines to be stretched so much VEPCO says it is not their problem.and caused a hole in the roof. He says that they did not bring truck in yard with dirt or concrete. They wheel barreled 23 yards of concrete in yard. Quoted me $200.00 to remove anchor fence from front yard and talked me into adding a small one on side of yard and charged me $1,000.00. Said he had to fill in the fence post holes with dirt and add grass seed. Did not to send me a final paid in full receipt that I ask for and I had to call him again today and ask for it. Not a man of his word.I am a widow 77 years old and he just took me to the cleaners. This is rental property and I could not have him stop as he had already pulled up the driveway.I had to ask him over and over for a written contract. The work done was good except the apron on the driveway is so small you cannot move in and out of the driveway with out causing ruts on the side of the drive way. When I ask him about it he said that it was legal according to city code. This did not stop him from suggesting other things like a wider driveway with out suggesting that we widen the apron so as to not have this problem.I ask him over and over if he was used to doing drive ways and he assured me he was. .Your Desired Resolution:I would like Mr. Anderson to be sure that in the future he puts everything in writing and does not expect to quote cost and expect people to keep track of what he is saying verbally as he keeps changing what he says to trys to confuse you. He makes suggestions of extra work and never puts anything in writing until he has already torn up the area he is working on so that you cannot say stop. I feel that he charged me several thousand dollars more that any other contractor would have charged me and made some additional problems for me, by not making the entrance of the driveway wide enough and by hiting the power lines and stretching them and pulling over the mast pole that holds them up.He needs to correct these by returning some of the money he over charged me.All I can say is be sure if you do business with him to reduce to writing what he says verbally as he is not going to admit to what he says down he road. You can expect the job to cost you at least 1/3 more if not more than that. He is very nice to talk too and a very smooth sales person.
