This is the only place in VB I will get my haircut. As an adult I got sick of the Hooters style barber shops that offered passable haircuts. This place is clean and professional. Everytime you check in expect a free drink. Every haircut basically cuts a wash included which I always recommend.

Been coming here for a year and a half now because the first time I got my cut here, the staff was very professional and made me feel like I had been a long time customer. A rare haircut place for men by professional stylists. Great location where I could bring my kids along as well. They kids can grab a free snack, play chess or the pool table while I get my hair cut. The stylists know what they’re doing as it’s the only place I’m aware of that is licensed to do straight razor shave.

I went in today for my first haircut since May. I have been coming to GHQ for several years. My usual stylist here had moved on and I needed someone who was good with scissors. I was set up with Valerie. She was fairly new there (2-4 months) and I showed her a picture of my last haircut and how I wanted it. She said OK and went to work. WOW! She cut my hair like she had been my stylist for years. She was EXTREMELY confident and very skilled. Very friendly and naturally likable. She did check with me a few times to make sure she was taking off the right amount which I really appreciated, because once it’s off, it’s off. She will become my go to stylist from now on.

GHQ is my favorite place for a haircut in Virginia Beach. The staff is stellar and puts towards extra effort for first time customers or squeeze in regulars on busy days. Tia at the front desk rocks. Kristin is hands down my favorite! I have recommended her to coworkers and family but everyone there is willing to listen to customers and make you happy. The employees take pride in their work, they know they can make people feel better about the way they look. Don’t be surprised if you see a few trade-related tattoos such as clippers or scissors. Their free freshen-up within two weeks makes GHQ one of the better deal around.

Honestly just loved the laid back vibes and the old school straight razor shave. Danielle did an excellent job, knew what I wanted even when I didnt know what I meant. Precision hairlines, enjoy a beer, get massage.

GHQ offered a beer while I waited to get my beard trimmed. The price is well worth the experience. The staff was kind and friendly and the shop was cleaned and decorated to be a sophisticated place for a guy to get a cut. Not exactly practical for military because of the price but well worth it for a bi-weekly or monthly haircut. This location definitely falls under a “treat yourself” category.

This last time though, I felt like I was getting pushed out of the chair, didnt get a neck shave, massage, or hot towel. The haircut itself did turn out well - no complaints there - but I didnt get any of the extras that make it worth going to GHq for. I go here, and pay more, for the experience - not just to get a hair cut.

First time going here, I don’t usually trim my beard up but decided to try something different so went here. From the start they were very courteous the complimentary beer was a nice touch after a long day. Didnt realize it came w/shampoo & condition, which they didnt get, with no price adjustment. Going back today at 2:00 & 2:30. If they try to skip it again I am going to point it out & leave because then it isnt a 1 time oversight, it is sheisty.

Walked in and was immediately seen, even though they were busy. My cut was by Courtney who was extremely attentive and funny and one of the first people in history to give me exactly what I asked for on the first try without adding her own personal flavor that I didnt ask for.Price was good considering it came with a beer, a good atmosphere, and a scalp massage / shampooing. Ive never rated anything before, but I figured that since Ive been going here for over 4 years straight I should weigh in. When I find a place that I like, I stay loyal to it and return to give them my business time and again. I used to make an appointment with a specific stylist. Now I just take whomever they give me because Ive never had a bad haircut here. They make notes about your haircut so that they can remember what you like whenever you come back. They always are very nice and engage you in a fun conversation when you are in their chair. Most of these ladies have been there multiple years and they all seem to enjoy their jobs. Lastly, the employees are dressed and act professionally, so your girlfriend or wife wont have any problem with you going here, unlike some places that are like the hooters of hair places. I highly recommend this place, and the complimentary beer is just the icing on the cake.

This place was great and if I could rate it six stars, I would. Kristen did a fantastic job. I have a bit of an odd shaped head, and I usually end up with something sticking out somewhere, but she blended everything perfect. Theyve got a good selection of products, and you can even grab a beer.

I was a first time customer and last time customer. I arrived and the staff didnt open the doors until 15 min after 10am and allowed patrons to stand outside in the rain and cold. While getting my haircut my stylist was more interested in the other staff and clients than cutting my hair. When I arrived home everyone could see the distinct lines in my hair where nothing was faded and several missed areas of uncut hair. I would not recommend GHq Landstown Shopping Center location to any of my friends.

I was hesitant about getting my hair cut Ive let it grow out for the last several months my hair is thick naturally curly. I love the unruliness of my hair but sometimes I get impatient with my hair and usually get a buzz cut. But that changed yesterday afternoon, while waiting for my appointment. A lady approaches me and says dont cut your hair off I love it. Her name was Val i replied thank you i dont want too. At that Casey intrepid herself as my barber/ stylist, She asked me what kind of cut today, I said I wanna keep the length going could she thin it out and clean it a bit. DING DING DING WINNER WINNER CHICKEN DINNER!!!!! Casey did a great job!!!! Thank you Val for input!!!!! Im very happy with the results!!!!!

Normally love this place. But our most recent visit included one of the stylists children being permitted to run all over the shop. When I asked why there was a toddler permitted to run around, I was told the shop has single mothers (with a tone of attitude). As empathetic as Id like to be in this case, and as a single parent, I cannot. No one wants to pay a premium price for a service in a shop being treated like a play ground. Especially where razors, clippers, straight edges, and scissors are utilized constantly. Not safe for the child and certainly not safe for the patrons.

Where do I start?? First impression was a professional and friendly atmosphere, every woman in there had a smile that could cure cancer. I sat down with Danielle and boy am I glad I did.Danielle is with clippers, what Michaelangelo was with a chisel. What Mace Windu is with the force, What air bud is with the basketball. While being super friendly and proffessional she sculpted the hair on my head like Gianlorenzo Bernini sculpted the famous Pluto and Persephone She is with sheers, what Picasso was with the paint brush, my head was her canvas.It doesnt stop there. I got the shampoo too. It felt as if Beethoven himself was composing Bagatelle in A minor, if he wasnt deaf, on my scalp. Ive been going to GHQ for well over a year now since my hairdresser Kali became a member of the GHQ team and absolutely love it. Not only is Kali a talented stylist, shes up-to-date on the latest mens hair style trends and wonderful to be around. GHQ itself not only offers a great class and throwback atmosphere they also offer a great variety of quality mens styling products as well.

I had a hair appt today with a girl that has been doing my hair for the past few months and they failed to inform me that she was no longer working there, so I came all the way in for nothing. Same exact thing happened at the same place for the last girl that was cutting my hair from there. The turnover sucks so don’t expect to find someone you like and be able to stick with them. Some other the other girls that have cut my hair here aren’t good. It’s hit or miss like any hair cutting place.

I haven’t had a real haircut my entire life. I’ve had long hair since I was a child. I came in without an appointment and Kristin set me for a half an hour later. I ran across to the bbq place and grabbed a quick sandwich while I waited. When I came back, Kristin was ready for me. We talked, figured out what I wanted, and she removed 20-ish inches of my hair in separate ponytails so that I could donate it. She was absolutely amazing. She allowed me to record my first haircut (at 40 years old) and she was an absolute blast. Funny, fun, professional, and she did a fantastic job. The other staff were also very friendly and stopped over and chatted and laughed with us. The establishment itself is rather posh. It’s very clean, tidy, well kept, and the decor is upscale. The pricing is very reasonable and they offer a lot of extra services. I will absolutely be returning and recommending GHQ to everyone. Again, enormous thanks to Kristin who was just unbelievable!

Although my experience was good, Ive seen some ups and downs with GHQ. I will say, I changed my review score based on the positive, and prompt resolution to any issues. For that reason, I did change the review. Its awesome to see local businesses work out issues in a way that everyone benefits. Im my experience, its not about getting a bigger slice of the pie, but making the pie bigger so everyone gets a bigger piece.

Brought my son in for his back to school haircut for first grade. My son has never loved a haircut so much in his life. Jillian was great with him and the atmosphere was great. I will be referring all my friends to Jillian and Ghq.

1) One of the dirties salons/barber shops I have ever been in. I would have complained but when I asked my stylist who the manager was, the gal she pointed too had a station that was even more disgusting than the rest of the place. Hair was piled up next to the trash bin and many were barely even cleaning between patrons. The stations were filthy and they were putting the clippers back down on dirty/ hair covered towels which defeats the point of cleaning them between use. You should never be too busy to clean or afford deep clean after hours. 2) There was no atmosphere. No music or Tv background and the only chatter was the manager apparently complaining about one of the old stylists that just quit. Terrible to have that level of shop talk in front of patrons if you ask me. Honestly, this experience was bad enough and the prices are high enough, I wont go back. When I go to a place like this Im also going for the atmosphere which makes me justify the cost. Missed the Mark.
