What a wonderful experience! My boyfriend and I were passing through Virginia Beach on our way to OBX and he was badly in need of a hair cut and beard trim. Found this place from a quick google search and decided to stop in and I’m so glad we did! It’s a quaint little place with lots of charm and the service literally could not have been better. Greg the shop owner was the only one on at the time but we only had to wait a short time while he finished another cut before he worked his magic on my boyfriend. Extremely friendly and knowledgeable, he had great suggestions to make the cut come out exactly how my boyfriend wanted. Also trimmed his beard, neck, and even eyebrows! Straight razor shave on the neck was the icing on the cake and my boyfriend came out looking better than I’ve literally ever seen him. Shop was clean and comfortable, and Greg and another regular who was waiting chatted with us the whole time like they’d known us all our lives. Pricing was beyond fair and the whole experience was simply fantastic. 100% recommend this place to anyone in need of a fresh cut!

Usually I go to whatever the cheapest chain haircut place is. I got a fantastic cut here and it was in line with the price of what I am used to paying! Certainly worth it to come here! A much better cut than the chains!

Absolutely love this place! The atmosphere is so friendly and I believe they really care. Everyone gets to know your name and greets you when you come in. The service is terrific and the prices are very reasonable. Greg is great! Myrna couldnt be any kinder or more efficient! They are professionals and always try to please the customers! I have been a patron of this particular shop for almost 25 years (since it was on one block over on Holly Road and operated by Tommy the Greek). Greg has been doing a great job of running the shop for quite some time now. Its still got a nice local feel and there are some excellent barbers in there. Greg, Myrna, Svan, and Mary Ellen consistently give me excellent haircuts. You can even get an old fashioned straight razor shave too.Barber shops like this are rare. If youre looking for a mall or shopping strip type of chain...this is not going to be what youre looking for.Theres a separate salon room too. Greg always keeps my wifes hair looking great. Small local feel, great customer service, more than fair prices, and an experienced staff of hair professionals make this place an oceanfront treasure. Thanks for keeping it going Greg.

Be careful men. The blonde woman will take you to the back where she will mess up your hair and charge you $18 behind the owners back. Had to call in and request them to fix it. She may very well be racist too. Since the second time she knew what she was doing where as the first time she knowingly messed up my fade and cut everything uneven.You would expect someone her age wouldnt be this disrespectful. I have never in my life been treated like this and will not recommend this to others.I dont even mind paying $20 for a haircut but the way I have been treated blew my mind. As someone in charge of the IT infrastructure of several offices in the US I am well versed and treat anyone I meet with the respect they deserve on top I will also give them the best service I can provide no matter the heritage or look.This is something she may have not been taught in her life. Not sure if this may be also a lack of cultural appreciation or education. But let me tell you, you never know who you may be talking or servicing too. So give everyone the best service and show yourself from your best side not your worse.Definitely will be passing this on. If anyone has the same experience. Do stand your ground because racism has no place in the 21st century. Especially not if you are running a business and expect to be successful.

Old school barber shop, they atmosphere and style is really cool 1950s with a modern twist. The owner Greg is very talented and friendly too. The tiny little shop watchdog, Lilly, is so full of love and willing to anything to get attention. So adorable. Great prices and cuts. Salon section for the ladies too.

Ive never experienced a trim and shave like this before. The barber was ex-military and had a ton of stories and experience. He walked me through each step in the process and educated me on each decision point. I even opted for the straight razor shave and it did not disappoint. If you have a beard and need a trim or shave this is your guy.

Ive only been there once, but they did a good job on my hair. They were friendly and very reasonably priced. I called ahead because it was close to closing time and they didnt hesitate to tell me to come in anyway. They even kept the store open 5 minutes late instead of rushing to get my hair done. I would definitely go back.

My husband only needed a medium fade and a little off the top. While we were waiting, the lady accidentally cut her customers lip with her clippers as she was trying to shave his mustache. That shouldve been a red flag- my husbands haircut was so sloppily done. The back of his neck isnt trimmed and lined up. I can see she wasnt careful as she trimmed around his ears; there are lots of uncut hairs that she missed. The sides are also uneven. Even if youre just looking for a basic haircut, I wouldnt go here.

Got my hair cut and shaved by Svon. Cannot recommend him highly enough! Great at conversation but is willing to have a quiet cut if you prefer. He gave me some great ideas for the bears and extending the life of my style, fantastic!

My husband is in the Navy and always goes to the NEX to get his haircut. However, they always chop up his hair and hurt his neck etc. Gregory Barbershop did THE best job on his hair. The owner walked my husband through everything he was doing, was gentle, and did a fantastic fade on him AND was given a great military discount. Highly highly recommend for military guys.

If there was a no star option Id give them that if you are of African American decent dont bother going here this is one of those we dont service your kind here boy establishment after walking a mile and a half to get here I was promptly told they do not cut my kind of hair and asked to leave their establishment Im sorry I thought in 2017 that barbers cut ALL KINDS of hair my mistake wont make it again and if your black please save yourself the time go somewhere else your money is not welcome here

By coming here, I had the best haircut since Ive came to Virginia Beach. Ive been here for 2 years. Finally after sitting in the NEX waiting to get my normal haircut, I decided to go and try another barbershop other than the few Ive tried and the NEX. It looks great and it felt like he cared about how my hair looked. Jimmie, you rock! Good military discount, hot razor cut, and courteous staff. If I had two hands Id give it four thumbs up.

GC hacked my sons hair 2 days before start of school. Gregory answered the call to correct their lack of skill and within an hour and change we were down there and out with the situation properly addressed. Whatever you do DO NOT GO TO THE LADY WORKING HERE!!!! Didnt catch her name, but she was the older foreign (Eurpoean/Mediterranean) woman...She absolutely butchered my hair!!!! I was not facing the mirror while I was getting my haircut so I had no idea what she was doing. I only knew she taking a long time which is odd for just a trim. When she gave me the mirror it was like two different haircuts in one, i.e. no fade - just two distinct lengths next to each other. I had to regrettably ask her to try and fade it which only made her cut higher and higher. She knew she was messing up even when I didnt say anything. She kept saying I dont know why I cant do it right. Exactly what you want to hear from your barber...Not only that, the owner, Gregory, was casually talking about opening longer hours to the customer in the next chair. My barber kept talking under her breath about how she doesnt want to work that long. Then she started talking about evil spirirts and other random nonsense.... I have no idea how that came about.Only reason why I gave two stars is because Gregory seems to be a nice enough guy. Very personable and seemed to give great cuts to his customers.At least my hair will grow back...

I just moved to the area and was looking for a quality shop (aka not a supercuts or sportclips) and I found this spot. Svan did an awesome job and gave suggestions on what to do. Since ideas starting my first job the next day he gave me some advice based on his recommendations and I came away with a great haircut! I will definitely be back!
