My daughter and I went here for the the first time this last week. We really had an interesting experience. The customer service by a few people was great! The lady who did my nails didnt have much to say to me. She did amazing on my nails tho! Quality place. And I have tried MANY nail salons around Vancouver.
On the pricey side but its in an upscale shopping mall and you get what you pay for. Great experience. Very clean. Kind employees. I got a deluxe pedicure. So enjoyable!
I was super impressed with this salon...I had family coming in from out of town for my birthday and they wanted to get in on pedicures...my normal place is closed because they went back home for a visit so I had to find a new place. There wasn’t a lot of pictures of what the location looked like but I was extremely pleased when we pulled up and walked it. Super clean & bright...space was well used...nails on one side & pedicures on the other. I had reached out 2 days before and was able to get an apt for 5 adults (3 girls & 2 guys), 1 teenager and 1 preteen...we arrived slightly before the apt but it didn’t take long til we were all in our chairs & had individual attention of a manicurist...I had tried to plan out enough time before our dinner reservations and was extremely impressed that all 7 of us were completed within an hour! Everyone was pleasantly surprised & raved about their experience...They offered water or wine (red/white)...they had aromatherapy options (including lavender) for their deluxe pedicures...Pricing was competitive with the area... we will be back...
I have been a customer here for a few years now and have liked it. The only thing is even with making an appointment, I still have to wait 10-20 minutes to get seated. Today, Sam did my nails and a fun design and did absolutely phenomenal. He took his time and perfected it. I would recommend this place and if you are looking for designs, Sam is your guy!!
Exceptional staff, and service as theyve exceeded my expectations out of most places in town!
I think this is a super cool modern salon that is very clean. However, if you aren’t planning on getting long acrylics I wouldn’t bother. What you see on their Instagram isn’t necessarily what you’re going to get from them. I ended up paying $60 for a manicure LOL keep in mind they didn’t soak, cuticle trim, or pay any attention to the details that a manicure normally includes. You shouldn’t pay big bucks for the bare minimum. I showed a photo, of a simple design and my nails turned out terrible . I’m pretty sure the manicurist even knew. I requested them to re do them and it took three people to figure out how to do a simple design on my nails because they were “short” insisting I must have tips. It was honestly awkward and uncomfortable. Honestly, at this salon all you’re getting is hype. I won’t be going back. To each their own tho! :)
It was my first time here. The employee at the front desk was very nice and welcoming. The person who did my nails did an amazing job. Did exactly what i asked for and was also very nice. Took their time and went back a few times to make sure everything was perfect. It is a bit pricey but in my opinion, it’s worth it if you want good quality nails. I loved the outcome of my nails. Will definitely be returning !
Great set up place is clean. The end result will depend on the tech you get. Why bother asking what a customer wants if youre going to do the opposite. Gotta go pay someone else to fix my nails now. Some of the employees seem more interested in gossiping then paying attn to their customer. Customers want to be pampered and made to feel good not dismissed. Top $ prices with bottom $ service. This was my 2nd time here I wont be back sadly. Needs improvement on customer service. The owners are Great to bad some of the employees dont care. 😔 to get a 5 star rating you gotta be a 5 star establishment.
Although I started off getting several great pedicures here, care and attention has been noticeably declining. I got barely one swipe of the buffer and nail file before the technician moved on to the next step. Meanwhile my daughter’s nail and cuticle were cut so short they began to bleed.
Where do I start. Trinity!!! I don’t know what I would do without you! Amazing detailed work perfection every single time and I come about every two weeks. She helps me with ideas and I trust her opinion 100% because everything she comes up with is amazing. My nails would be so boring without her. I’ll never sway from my girl here and the rest of the staff is so professional and talented. Super clean PPE is on point I have not a single thing negative to say about this nail salon or the work it puts out. And I adore my girl so happy to of found her:)
I love this place! They do fantastic work and obviously take pride in caring for their clients. I have always had a hard time with gel and dip manicures peeling and chipping but they never do when I get them done here. I always get compliments on my nails after getting them done here!
I absolutely love The Nail Kitchen! I have been coming here for well over a year and have never had a bad experience. The owner Jay always greets me when I walk in the door and always stops to chat to ask about my family. Trinity does my nails and she always does such a beautiful job. I’ve never had to wait, and have never left disappointed. Please go see them - I wouldn’t trust anyone else with my nails!
I got Dip done by Joey, and I’m absolutely in love! Joey was very gentle and took great care of my nails, was very attentive. The Nail Kitchen Spa was a very clean environment, my sister got a shellac manicure and they opened a completely sterile packet of nail tools for her manicure. 10/10 will be returning!
Really clean, Wendy was fantastic and nice, she did my acrylics with a V French tip. Let me just say these are the best nails I’ve ever gotten, VERY strong and have lasted forever, I showed her a picture and she did exactly what I wanted. The salon is a little expensive it’s self but Definitely worth the splurge. 100%
Clean and friendly environment, nails are truly a work of art!
This place is great! They are all so talented and nice! The only reason its not 5 stars is because Ive gone a few times and they mixed up my color because the caps that are labeled on the dip powder get switched around sometimes. No worries though! I liked the colors it ended up being. Besides the purple they did for my wedding day, I had to get those re-done and pay for it to be fixed!
I don’t usually write reviews but I was really bummed after visiting nail kitchen. It was my second time going there. The first time I got a terrible shellac manicure that peeled within three days. I decided to give them a second chance and went back for a manicure. I got a dip manicure which turned out terrible. It’s uneven and chunky. I paid for a full manicure which was pricey and didn’t get my cuticles trimmed, no lotion, no massage. The worst manicure I’ve ever gotten. The man was nice but didn’t do a good job.
Super rushed. Over priced. Just all around rude people & terrible customer service. Not going back ever again. They hurt my mothers already bad shoulder by pulling on her wrist because she wasnt close enough!! Also, the man doing her nails put a timer for 20 minutes. That is nowhere near enough time to clean your nails well enough/ paint them. And to top it off they were not following Covid-19 procedures. They were over crowding people, sitting people so close to each other, not all workers were wearing masks and some of them were even texting/ calling while doing peoples nails. Pretty sure youre supposed to wash your hands after touching anything. Still left a big tip though because I like to help businesses. They need to change their way of dealing with PAYING clients and ASAP.
First time came here for pedicure. My sister invited me. The lady tricked on me by picked higher service price ( 52 dollars) from what my sister want me to do. She did everything just in 30 mins ( callus remove+ massge+ hot stone = 10 mins maximum), with unprofessional service. Maybe she thought I did not pay attention on what she is doing. Just feel waste of money.I do not ask for professional service, but Please do your job right. andhonest.Over all the facility is clean.
I used to love this place. Only nail salon I would go to. Unfortunately, I had someone new do my nails that chipped within 3 days. I scheduled an appointment to have them fixed and was charged full price. Both times it took an hour and 45 minutes for my nails. Inconveniently I had to return a week later for the fix to just be charged full price again. Further, my finger is swollen from the cuticle being drilled and rubbing alcohol placed upon the cuticle after it was already bleeding. I won’t be returning to the Nail Kitchen.
Absolutely the worst pedicure ever. I’m pretty sure she had never done one before. Did not even clean dead skin or toenails. I think my old pedicure she replaced looked 100 times better then her finished product. Never ever go here!!!
I had asked for these black cow print acrylic nails and I had a photo and everything what I asked for vs what I got was not what I expected he just kinda put dots all over my nails and they looked very trashy and the nail it’s self they are all different size of thickness none of them are thin they are all very thick and I kept asking him to cut them down and he wouldn’t. While I was there I felt like he was in a rush the whole time and after I was done I was about to leave but I just had happened to look up and I saw the dude not five minutes after I got my nails done he was running across the parking lot with a bag in his had trying to get into his car so over all I would never go back there they did terrible nails.
Quick and good job!
This place was recommended to me by a friend and Over all it was a good experience first time there but the thing that was just terrible was that within a week my nails were coming off...are you kidding me? I paid 75 dollars just so they could last a week that’s just ridiculous other places I go they last a whole month and They are way cheaper.
Trinity is the best!! She pays attention to details and is very through. She offers advice on what would look best and is happy to try anything you want. Gone to her multiple times and have been happy with every design she has done. Go see Trinity for great nails!
Tia and Trinity are great! I have had other technicians do my nails as well and they all do a good job. Everyone is nice and they work hard to keep the salon clean and clients happy. They have more dip colors than any other salon that I have been to.
The lady who did my nails was so mean I don’t remember her name but she was mean.
Service was very rushed from the second I got there, there was no interaction whatsoever, & the lady was very rough when doing my nails. Won’t be going back, it’s a no for me.
Best nail salon in the Couve!
Hands down, the best nail salon! Wow! Wow! Wow! First visit here today and I was really impressed! First off, this place is super clean, they really care about their sanitation and the safety of their customers. Everything is modern and comfortable, plus the salon is gorgeous! The staff here are very friendly, they listened to what I wanted and made it happen! The men who did my nails were both so nice, they were gentle and really took their time, making sure my set looked amazing. These people are not just nail technicians, they are talented artists! Ive never had a better experience at a nail salon! And to top it all off, their prices are reasonable!!! Visit them, you will not be disappointed! KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK NAIL KITCHEN! Thank you for my gorgeous nails!
Me and my friend went and my nails look horrible she didn’t even paint all of my nail :/ I really wanted to like this place but I give it a one star and they don’t seem to have good covid precautions....
I’ve been coming here sense I moved to Washington and it’s by far the best nail place I’ve been. I’m always super happy with my nails and they do the best designs. 10/10 recommended.
I always have trinity do my nails and she always does a perfect job!!
I’ve been here three times hoping that each time would be better. I’ve had a different nail tech everytime but the one I had today left me so upset I didn’t leave a tip, which I have not done in years. I’ve never had a rougher mani and pedi in my life, my gel layers were too thick and made my nails look kind of bubbly/bumpy which is embarrassing, and my hand and foot massages were awkward and painful. She didn’t even tell me if I was done or not, she just gave me the slip with the price on it and left. I am never ever one to complain publicly or leave a negative review. On the other hand, the front girl is so nice and I could tell she works hard to make everything run smoothly, and my first two pedicurists were very nice and made sure I liked the color I chose before continuing on to the other nails. This last experience was just too frustrating to not leave a review. I know almost everyone I know has had a great experience here with a majority of the nail techs, but I guess I just have bad luck.
I had read all the reviews on Google, and although most of them were not in the most positive light I still wanted to give this place a chance. Its right by my house, looks really clean, brand new building and everything. So I called to get some information and also to schedule an appointment. They took forever to answer the phone and when they did answer the phone and I told them what I needed they hung up on me. Ive never ever had a nail salon hang up on me before, incredible.
Everytime I go they always leave hair in my nails and this last time I couldn’t even get my nails done. I called a week ahead to set up a appointment to make sure my nails would get done in time because I had a community Christmas event the next day and wouldn’t have time throughout the week to get them done. I get to my appointment about 10 minutes early and ended up waiting 40 minutes before I decided to leave. Personally I feel that if I have a set appointment I shouldn’t have to wait 40 minutes I can completely understand 10-20 but this seems completely unorganized. This is so sad since the salon is only a two minute walk from my home, and they have great nail artists and designs. If you can wait an 40+ minutes after a scheduled appointment I definitely recommend this salon.
Nice people, great pedicure.
Don’t expect a warm welcome, a simple hello, or any kind of acknowledgement actually. Called for an appt. was told to “come now”. I did. And I waited for over 25 minutes before anyone bothered to plunk me into a chair. And then continued to ignore me for another 15+ minutes. No thanks. I have a life, and it doesn’t involve wasting my time here.
Very lovely place. Just got my toes done and the lady was very kind. While I was getting my toes done the receptionist heard some keys drop behind her and it took her less than a second to stand up and pick them up. Very kind people, with a beautiful salon
The nails are super well done, but the customer service leaves something to be desired. I sat and waited for over an hour, and no one paid any attention to me, and when I asked if there was anyone who could do my nails (while my friend was getting hers done right next to me) they told me that You can wait. They were just sitting around and talking and I am very displeased with their customer service. Would not reccomend.
Not only did they try to charge us extra but our nails all turned out below expectations. Not good quality at all. Would not go back.
I love going to the Nail Kitchen and wont go anywhere else! They do an outstanding job, and all staff are so pleasant and fun. Great atmosphere, too! Thank you Thu and Jay...I love your spa!
This is seriously the best nail salon, they always do a great job. The environment is clean and inviting.
I had a picture with an easy nail to do and instead of a nice set of even nails, I walked out with something a 16 year old could do. I have glitter all over my hands (i didn’t ask for glitter), a really rushed star on both my middle fingers that I had to ask to be covered up. The nails were filed at the end to fix up the unevenness that wasn’t taken care of in the beginning, that ended with both sides of every nail not having nail polish on them, which she didn’t redo or add another top coat. It was my first time being here and it is my last time being here. I would not recommend.EDIT:OMG! I went back in after I was contacted and Ryan did A PHENOMENAL JOB! I have a gorgeously painted and even set of stilettos! I am so happy and in love! Ryan is AMAZING! Definitely will only have him touch my nails from now on! Thank you so much, Ryan! These are so so so wonderful! I can’t wait to visit you again!
Trinity did a fantastic job on my nail set, eye brow waxing and pedicure, I was very excited to find a new nail place so close to my house. Very impressed with Trinity’s knowledge and patience while she explained her ideas for colors and what would look best with my skin tone in regards to nail color.I will definitely be coming back!!!
Cute, but expensive. Not sure if I will be going back
Our service was great and out nails looks equally great. I wish they would have done a little better on my heels, but good overall. Ill be back.
This place is SO great! Austin did an amazing job on my nails and was able to show me what service was best for me! He did a very details job and my nails look amazing and feel good too.
I got my acrylics done by Austin and the color is nice. But didn’t even them all out, my pinky nails are two different sizes. He seem super rushed he didn’t even cut my original nails. Not worth $50
I went in nervous to try a new place but Lana did a perfect job and I ended up wanting to change my color after a few days and they completely understood and explained why the clear looked foggy in some spots. This is definitely my new favorite place!!
Update 2: I decided to give them the benefit of the doubt.. and go back.. YIKES. Over crowded, they over book apts so expect to wait 30 min + past your set time appointment. Shape.. wrong... I even mentioned it too and she said “no it won’t look good that way”The acrylic work is poor, flooded cuticles and my nails that costed me $80 only lasted a week befor they started lifting breaking and pealing. I won’t be coming back.. :(Update 1: I used to love coming here but i feel like recently its just become like every average nail salon and the work being done keeps getting worse and worse, i payed quite a bit for my nails to be done this last time and the polish started coming off right away, the topcoat wore off within the first 3 days leaving me with a matte looking nails, also one fell off within the week .I loved getting my nails done here.. i always get excited. Today was different. I felt as if my appointment was rushed i never feel rushed here, no one was waiting ether, my tech seemed annoyed that i asked her if she could do a design. She huffed and puffed her hand git my nail and I showed her and she said it was fine. It clearly wasn’t. I left my hands a mess and my nails were not how i wanted them and very messy. Funny thing is is that i had to pay 10$ more than the last time i came, and i didnt get quality care and or what i wanted. As i was here the lady who she had done the nails for before me came in after 30 minutes with a broken nail and was upset as Van was finishing my nails now she was clearly upset and rushed even more. I guess what im trying to say is that i do love this place because of all my previous experiences but today was not good. Im usually happy with my nails but im not today.
Had high hopes for this place. I used to do nails, so I am super picky. I was quoted 35.00 for a full set of nails and $25.00 for fills. Two weeks later, my daughter went to get a fill. She asked for a particular color in regular polish, which they claimed they only had in gel. Big surprise, as gel is $10.00 extra. All in all, it totaled $38.00. I questioned what happened to the 25.00 fills. They said they do solar nails and fills are $30.00. Hmmm... I have their message that quoted me 25.00. Anyway, my daughters fill was more than the full set! I will not pay more for fills than the full set! Beware of hidden costs and bait and switch at this salon! This salon claims they do solar nails, which they say is healthier than acrylic. Solar nails IS acrylic. Its just a brand of acrylic that Creative Nail came out w/years ago. Its still acrylic.
They charged my card more then the nails and I called the manager was so rude dont ever go there
Just recently opened near us. Clean and professional, their services are top notch. Pedicures and manicures does extremely well. Highly recommended!
I like the background! Floor clean! People friendly! Feels relaxing with air conditioning! Free Bottle of water ! Highly recommended all you guys
My friend and i went here for the first time and about a week after my nails were lifting, she got a fill and they didnt file off all of the last nail color she had, cut her, ruined her nails, uneven, she just now took her nails off and it ripped off the middle of her nail, there is no actual nail in the middle of her pinky nail. We were very excited to go and try this new place, but it was the worst experience we have ever had. She does nails and knows how to take care of them, this was completely on the salon. The woman who did her nails was extremely rude and jacked up the prices, she complained when my friend asked her to fix her nails. This place is extremely over priced.
Thank you Jay for fixing my nails and the lovely lady who did my eye brows! Beautiful salon and Even better employees! Definitely coming again!
Won’t be returning here. They talked about us the whole time. Didn’t bother to thank us for the tip, and were not very friendly at all. Not very impressed with their service, could use some improvement.
My friend and I went for pedicures and manicures. Mine was rushed and very minimal in all aspects and then my finger was cut during my manicure. I would not see Emily as a technician again. My friend on the other hand had a beautiful service for mani and pedi but hers took at least 40 minutes longer than mine, which is why it looked good. Inconsistency like this makes it not worth spending the money.
They rushed cause crooked uneven nails and then tried to say the yellow tint was normal on the white nails 🙄 the owner tried to tell me I was lying and he couldnt see the yellow when his technician even told me thats just how it is now a week later they are popping off!!!! This place is a joke!!!!! Dont waste your money
The technicians and receptionist were super friendly and the ombre turned out beautiful, but my nails were different lengths and some were crooked. I also asked for marble as an accent nail. I wanted the same color of acrylic as the top of the ombre for the background of the accent nail, but they did a clear acrylic and painted the background a different color of pink so it looks really off. Plus the top coat bubbled on one of my nails.
The folks at The Nail Kitchen Spa are top notch specialists at their trade. Friendly and welcoming every time. I can always get in when I want and there are always plenty of staff to take care of my needs.
I really want to like this place because it is new and super cute. But the customer service has not been great at all. (Been there 3 times) Today I chose to do the basic pedicure for $30 and got a little bit of an attitude because I wouldnt do the deluxe. On the description it says you get certain things like hot stone and a few other things that the lady did not end up doing and basically got no massage at all. Then I tried the dip for my mani and the lady only did the actual color, no cuticle treatment at all, no lotion or hand massage at the end at all. And she actually just got up and walked away and I wasn’t sure if she was done or not and then I saw her at another station working on someone else and I was like oookkk 👌🙄 super strange. I wish I didn’t tip at all but I always feel so guilty if i don’t but I should have stood my ground this time. Will definitely not be back seeing as there are soooo many nail salons to choose from, you would think they would care about their customer service, especially since they have been getting so many bad reviews!
Paid $70 for a set and they have started to lift after three days of having them. Unacceptable
This is a wonderful spa/salon to go to. Jay, the owner, provides great customer service, the salon is SPOTLESS and I get a great mani/pedi along with a glass of wine. HIGHLY recommend.
Very clean, friendly. I felt like the nail technicians were up on the latest nail art. I didnt enjoy all of the children running around the place as their mothers just sat back and got their nails done like they were taking advantage of the place as a free babysitter or something. Id like to be able to go and relax and have my nails done without having a dozen kids running around the place.
Completely unprofessional. Walked in and all the employees were on their phones, and one was even curled up in the waiting area! I could look past that, but my pedicure was also subpar. There was no attention to detail and I hardly got a massage (I’m talking maybe 15 seconds on each leg). My manicure was also lacking and had already chipped within a day! I’m very careful with my nails and have had other professional manicures last much longer, so this was very disappointing. With so many nail salons in the area, this is just unacceptable. Especially with so many offering extras for the same price (paraffin wax, drinks, etc.). The salon itself is chic and I was so excited to find a new place to feel pampered, but this is not it. Definitely go somewhere else!
The day before Christmas Eve I called to inquire about their holiday hours. I was told that they will be open for business until 5PM. On Dec. 24th I showed up to the salon around 3 PM. I was greeted rudely- aside from a hello no one asked me how they can help me but instead gave each other side glances. Finally, just standing there while a few girls were getting their nails done I initiated the conversation and told them I would like a mani/ pedi. What proceeded was more awkward silence before I was told that they are closing early- although the doors were open and remained open after I left.I understand that people want to go home for the holidays. I fully do, but if you have set holiday hours, you should honor them.Sadly, this salon is within walking distance from my house and I was excited to check it out, but after my experience today I will never come back again.... horrible customer service.
My daughter and I took my mom who has never had a pedicure.... we all loved it!! We will definitely be back in a few weeks for a fill and a pedicure!!
Great service, relaxing with Windy hills wine in hand.
Im very unimpressed. I requested an appointment with Jay and Ryan for my friend and I. The two people that did our nails were not Jay or Ryan. This is fine. But it would have been nice to know when I made the appointment. The woman that did my friends nails tried multiple times to convince her to not get tips applied to her nails. Then she cut the tips very short, almost to the length of her natural nails. When I was picking my color, I picked a light green polish. The person that was doing my nails kept telling me that I should do the dip powder. The color I selected wasnt a dip powder but he came over with a dip powder and said it was the same color. It wasnt the same color. The color I got is more of a tiffany blue. I asked for a rounded square and he gave me oval. I have ome nail that is kind of squared and the rest are oval. He had headphones in which is very unprofessional. And when I tried explaining what I wanted, he didnt listen. I didnt get the color I wanted, I didnt get the shape I wanted, and I didnt get great service. While my friend was getting her nails filed and buffed, the woman doing her nails kept hitting her cuticles. My friend was telling her that it hurt and she just kept doing it. If I have to pay $50 for a manicure, I should at least get what I asked for. When I spoke with the owner, the most he could do is file my nails to they are all the same shape.
Pretty expensive for what we received compared to other nail salons in the area..Plus, making fun of someones toes is not OK.
I Love my nail tech, Lana!! They have a HUGE selection of DIP colors!! They are professional, kind, and clean.
Nice place, nail techs are great
2nd time going here and brought my little girl for mani pedi. Staff was great did a good job! I will be back for sure!!! Quality work for a good price
My new favorite place. Jay is the best!
Daughter and I went in to get nails and toes painted and was asked to pay $60 and that included polkadots on one nail each hand and one toenail each foot. Nails chipped quite a bit in three days and very overpriced!!!
My friend and i went to the NAIL KITCHEN SPA to get two manis (one regular and one gel). the regular cost 25$ with tip and the gel manicure cost 33$ with tip. my friend and i sat down to get started, they asked me 5 times or more to get gel nails, even though i said no. (we were alone, and are teenagers) and the male doing my friends nails kept looking at her and asking her questions while smiling, such as if we were sisters, how old we are, what grade we are in, and if we live in the area. he also asked my friend if and where she got her eye brows done (waxing). when my friend said that we were 13, and going into eighth grade next year, he started teasing me saying that i look like i am seven and that she is mistaken. while my friends nails were being done, her cuticles were pulled so bad they bled. when my nails were done, the staff told me to go to the counter and pay when my nails were not dry. understandably so, they got chipped and they had me redo them. once they were redone, they had me sit in a chair apart from my friend, until they wanted me to pay. they were not dry yet, so they got smeared again and they redid them again saying that i messed up. when they redid them, they never put top coat on my nails either. after two hours of walking and sitting around, there is still product on my skin and my nails are chipping. the same happened to my friend. Nail Kitchen Spa was not a quality experience, and we will not be coming again.
Amazing my nails look so cool
Nice people. Very talented.
Did a good job...just not to friendly
Went in for a pedicure. I was surprised by the lack of usual pedicure services while they charge much more. Cold water in the foot bath, one coat of polish, no exfoliating rub on my feet, they’ll work on “calluses “ if you pay more. No water to drink... I’ll find someplace else.
Love, love, love! Beautiful shop with great nail techs!
So many colors and products!
Amazing work!!
Trinity is the best
Very attentive
