Horrible customer service as far as canceling your membership!!! I called mulipule times and went in person twice to talk to the manager and he wasnt there. Lady said she couldnt cancel it. I was charged first and last month up front and then got a late fee when I paid upfront already... Then the lady canceled it right after she charged me a late fee. They try and swindle every dollar they can and it is absolutely frustrating and will never go here again. Highly do NOT RECOMMEND. They are only nice when you sign up.
I was hesitate to join a qym, I have many issues that prevent me from doing almost everything except swimming. I decided to attend the aqua fit class with the instructor named Rita. She was absolutely wonderful. She helped me so much with the class and gave me some amazing info. She made my very uncomfortable experience an amazing one and now I will go back!!
Excellent food! Great service! I like the American flags displayed! Will definitely go back again when in the area!
Great equipment, well spaced out. All the staff are helpful and keep the gym in spotless condition. Enjoy working out here
Been to a few LA fitness locations but the others didn’t have the energy like this location does. I met the manager Reagan, she’s a very kind and passionate person who seems to care about people just as much as she cares about keeping this location up to date and clean. Few of the other employees are really cool as well. Over all, I’d say this place is worth your time. Peace y’all, stay safe. Stand strong 💪
Great gym with options for trial of 5-day for FREE. Make sure to use this to get a taste of the gym. Great pool. Lots of weight room area with machines and free weights. There is a lovely locker room area with large lockers (bring your own lock). Good monthly prices and options for classes as well (indoor cycling).
La Fitness, the Spanish Gym, is a a large place with many heavy plates in it. The object is to pick up the heavy plates here, so you dont pick up the, much lighter, plates at home, with a goal of losing weight and gaining mass. This all seems very contrarian to me.But on the plus side, the water in the fountain was cold.
Its the best ive seen i love to running and lifting weights
Need better tvs. Equipment is good.
Very Large Gym. Several equipment stations as well as free weights and a cardio Center.
The gal who helped my fiancé pick out his membership was a delight and the people at the front desk are always friendly and helpful! My only complaint is of some of the people that attend the classes. One attending class member took off her mask for a moment to adjust her sweatshirt and drink water. Another gal in the class screamed at her to put her mask back on very forcibly. The teacher did not say a word to the gal who scream. I usually imagine yoga class to be a little less stressful and clam.
Clean . and very nice up keep on equipment.Staff i find always helpful at all the LA clubs
This place is really clean and the staff were super welcoming. Our lock broke and would not open, and one of the staff helped us out and was extremely kind about it. Also, the price’s are reasonable and not too experience.
Ive enjoyed my time at the gym, staff is very nice and helpful. Its clean and well maintained. Taking extra and good precautions during covid times. Am grateful to those working there and keeping it open. thank you
This location specifically is very discriminatory toward non american imigrants. And surprisingly clients who have been patrons for over 10 years. My dad doesnt speak English too well, being an immigrant from stalinist Russia. He has a breathing condition wich makes it difficult to wear a mask and workout. Other American clients are given the opportunity (obviously if they have a medical condition) to workout without one or at least expose their nose. But wouldnt give my dad a chance to explain why he needs that little nose exposure just so he can breath properly when exhausting himself to be healthier. They froze his account for a month and never let him explain his situation. LaFitness doesnt care about their long term patrons. LaFitness doesnt care about patrons with health conditions. And most disappointing of all LaFitness wont accommodate clients with a language barrier, but they loved charging money when they were closed though.
Big gym, lots of weights and machines. They have a basketball gym, smaller studio for yoga and classes and racquetball rooms. Big pool, saunas, and jacuzzi. Very rarely ever full of people. Great and friendly staff.
Super friendly staff I enjoy seeing when I walk in and Covid cleaing areas make it a safe environment they have every other machine marked for a 6ft apart workout iv been at this gym a while and still a great experience
Jacuzzi hasnt worked in more than a month
New member and loving this place
I was in the club on November 14th at 4:00pm. I am deeply offended at their disregard for the mask policy. I had 6 people next to me not even have their masks on them, and when I went to the front desk( to ask them to enforce it) I got a “they are allowed to take their masks off if they aren’t moving around”. That is completely ridiculous and with a quarter of a million people dead I would hope the club have a better standard. And no, the people I am referring to didn’t even have their mask on their person. It’s either you guys at la fitness enforce it, or have us( your members) have to do it.
The policy of the company is in no way aimed at high-quality service, the main thing is how to withdraw money from people as much as possible. I do not recommend !!!
I like this gym overall and the people that work there are wonderful. But I REALLY wish they’d go through an equipment update (like the Portland Weidler location did). Give the people bumper plates and squat/deadlift platforms! Pretty please. Also, now with COVID, there’s almost no space to be able to stretch, all of the mats have been taken away so you have to stretch on the hard floor.
Very nice!
Best place for racquetball in Vancouver.
I think both locations are great. My only complaints would be that they can be packed with too many members at one time and the equipment cleanliness can be better. Also, ladies please be mindful of others that you share a locker room with...no one wants to see your old naked bodies flapping around in the sauna or locker room...cover it up please...no one wants to see your business spread eagle either
I love that LA Fitness partners with my BlueCross insurance to make attending this gym more affordable for my husband & I. He loves working up a sweat on the basketball court striking up games with fellow members while I flutter around the huge free-weight section. We love meeting in the racquetball court to burn off the extra energy, & relaxing in the saunas afterward. So much free-weight room for a busy day, & many machines to accommodate everybody. Always a quick check-in, clean facilities, & enough variation of equipment to keep us improving. Love this gym, & its right down the street from my condo!
Switched over from Palms (24hr fitness) and its way nicer and cleaner! Pricing is more affordable and has all the amenities you would like! I was skeptical to switch but after my free pass I love the layout of the gym and their equipment is great quality especially for lifting weights! I just enjoy how clean everything is! Also Brandon the sales manager was so pleasant when we signed up no pressure just really wanted us to enjoy the gym before we made a decision! Great staff everyone is super nice no issues!
DONT DO IT. Dont sign up here. They make it so difficult to cancel your membership. During COVID, they continued to bill the customers annual $50 membership fee even though the guys are closed. To cancel, you have to come in during working hours. They continued to bill full price of membership even if Racquet Ball and Pool is closed. Scammers and thieves. Get yourself a planet fitness or crunch membership for $10 and save yourself hundreds of dollars per year. I cant believe you cant cancel over the phone! What a pain having to drive to this gym during the work day just to cancel.
Love this gym. Spacious really clean and great people.
I love having a membership here. They have a great daycare as well.
Awdsome
I just joined and went to my first ever Aqua Fit class. Tiffany was the instructor and she was great! I felt really pushed (in a good way) and had fun.
I compared many gyms by price, equipment and ambience. The price, number of available/accessible well maintained equipment and the ambience (by FAR) is best at LA Fitness. I quit the membership for 1 year after moving to a different place and they had an offer so I pay only $20/m. Even cancellation was no trouble at all. And I love the pool and hot tub.Usually it is also a very clean place. Just during the past holidays it was a bit different. The gym is huge, sometimes you feel like being alone there.
Great place to work out
A bit bland and old equipment, but its clean.
I think both Vancouver locations are clean and well maintained but the hours sucks. I understand everyone isn’t an early morning person but 8am is a little to late to open a gym in my opinion on the weekend. Adjust your hours please and buy new equipment for the location in Cedar Hills that location looked outdated.
Very clean gym with an extensive array of machines. Im into calisthenics so I wish they had a few more pull-up bars available. Plenty of water stations with one even offering water bottle refills. Theres a room you can use with punching bags when theres no class in session. Im not sure if its my imagination or not, but it seems like theres an unspoken rule where you absolutely must put back your weights once youre done using them, an aspect that I havent seen practiced nearly as much in any other gym.
Love this gym so far! Staff is friendly and my trainer Robin is the best! :) I feel comfortable and welcomed at this gym
I’ve been a member at LA fitness forfive years now. The gym itself has always been a great place to work out. The machines 99% of the time are all functional. The biggest drawback is that management changes what appears to be weekly and trying to cancel my membership has become a difficult process.
The gym itself is awesome, I love that they have childcare and racquetball courts! The only thing is the people running the place make the billing very confusing. When we got the membership we specified that we only wanted 2 months. Once the 2 months passed they continued to charge us so we called them and they said we had to come into the club to cancel. We went into the club and they said the person whom deals with the cancellations was gone so we had to write a letter into headquarters to cancel or come back at a different time. Long story short they make it very hard to cancel your membership!
So empty and clean. Love it here
Love this gym
Awesome place. Great staff. Always clean. Four stars because the mens sauna always breaks down .
The place could be cleaner. Maybe the new manager will help.Today the sanitizer upstairs was empty. Obviously they are not checking. No one is wiping down the equipment. The sign asking people to wipe up is too small and no one is reading it. Two staff members were doing little. This is a health crisis isnt it?
Hello,Were members of the Hazel Dell Vancouver, WA club. We have not been attending the gym nearly as often as we like over the past year simply because its depressing to drop our 2-year old off at the Kids Club knowing that likely he will just be placed in front of a TV or given the choice to play with broken, dirty toys. We usually find him staring out the window...and its just a sad sight for a very active child. Why not offer a play/tumble gym area for them or better yet, teach them fitness?? You are a fitness/health club. These children could be your future clients/members once they become a teenager and beyond. As a mother and father, its hard to spend time away from our son to go enjoy a workout knowing he is bored sitting around waiting for us to finish so he can go play. The Kids Club should be all about healthy - active play. Can you please, please consider this! It would be a WONDERFUL selling point to all the members who are parents - we would be willing to pay extra for this benefit.Sincerely.
Took a tour, its a cool gym.Got to pricing, over priced, want over $200 just to start working out.Wouldnt work work with me at all .Told me If you dont sign up, two other people will walk in later and buy, so it doesnt matter. What a way to make a potential client feel welcomed.Think that was the boss too, to make things worse.
I wonder how often, if ever do they read these comments. 2.5 stars is not good.Pretty clean place, a lot better then it was a year ago and much much cleaner then 24 hour fitness.I kinda wish the staff was nicer, less fake if you know what I mean. It took over a year of going there 5 to 6 days a week before then started to recognise me at a regular. All their attention seems to be focused on their buddies. Some of their reception girls are very standoffish, like theyre grossed out by you, like You should be lucky Im half acknowledging you kinda of look. But some are just perfect, very pleasant. The management staff is where we lose a star, all this comes second hand from a few friends...creepy was used a few times and rude...always nice to me though. The people that come here are great, helpful if you ask a question, more then happy to give advice...once in a while even if you didnt ask it...you know who you are!! Most people keep to themselves listening to their own music.Big enough.Good equipment, plenty of it and for the most part kept clean.Bathrooms are 8/10Everything seems to work. Not perfect, but what is.
The gym itself is a great place, but cancelling my membership was definitely a pain. I work full time past 5pm every day, besides Monday. They told me that I was only allowed to cancel it between 9-5pm mon-fri. So I came in on the only day I had off, which happened to be the 21st. Turns out, they charged me for this month on the 21st, even though the contract says that it will pay for the last month when you cancel. I called in and they told me that they wouldn’t have charged me if I would’ve cancelled 3 days before my billing. With my work, it’s impossible to come in any other day to cancel the membership, besides today. I was VERY disappointed that I was charged for this month even though I didn’t go once. Taking people’s money away that easy is not cool.
This is a nice commercial gym that is upkept extremely well. It may get a little busy during rush hour before and after normal work hours but what do you expect?Update: Don’t bring any valuables into the facility. I had my bag locked up and someone still broke it open and went through my stuff during the busiest time of day.
I gave 4 not 5 stars due to the fact that they open at 8 am on the weekends, that is much too late for someone who has no choice other than to get her workout done early in the day like myself. Not good for my busy schedule, or for people that work weekend shifts, please considering trying out something such as 6 am? Please consider this LA! Other than than the late open issue the place is wonderful!
The head manager is doing nothing to fix the mens sauna. Its been down for almost a month and nothing is being done to fix the issue. Over the course of a month the maintenance crew has been called in once or twice at best and there are no signs of any attempts to get it running. Its like the management here doesnt even care to fix it. Many members are very unhappy with this and some even considering switching to 24 fitness.
I picked LA fitness as my main to go to gym because of cleanliness, pure and simple. I shopped around and what I saw at other gyms was gross.🤢 I’ll pay extra for a clean environment any day. Otherwise it’s your typical corporate gym. Pricey memberships, childcare, pool, spa, free weights, mirrors everywhere, properly maintained machines, exercise classes, etc...
Unfortunately, I have to agree with a lot of the criticism concerning the staff, trainers and cancellation procedures. Trainers do seem to come and go on a regular basis. The reason for four stars is that I just go in and work out. There is always open equipment most of the day and its maintained well. There are multiple machines to work specific body parts, ample cardio machines and a rather extensive free weight section. My wife enjoys the swimming pool and cycle classes. So for us, its well worth it.
Been going here for over a year and wouldnt trade it for any other gym!
I joined this gym specifically due to my physical needs. I need to do hydrotherapy. They have a pool. And honestly it is difficult to get swim time in. I told this to the manager when I signed up for the contract. I have been receiving harassing phone call from one of the physical trainers regarding a session. I politely decline the offer but he was hostile and hung up on me mid sentence. Now I have a gym membership to a gym where I feel marginalized. This is no way to run a business. I suppose that they just want my monthly payments and for me to not come in. Hahaha. Never!!!
I dont know why this place is rated so poorly. Everything is in working order and is pretty sanitary. They even got new equipment the other month. This is a fantastic gym to be a part of even tho it may be a bit pricey. People said that there items get stolen, and thats because they probably dont have a lock. Your stuff will get stolen anywhere without a lock. Staff and trainers are always nice.
Was very satisfied and telling everyone to get LA memberships but lately the staff has been very poor, especially one blood girl who works nights. Very rude and never helpful, as are most of the staff. The sauna, though I never use it, hasn’t been working for a month now and I’ve been quite displeased at their non existent attempts to fix it. I’ve heard rumors that it works but they keep it off, but no one really knows why it doesn’t work. All the late night staff gets livid if you stay even a minute or two past closing. Was very happy here, but I am very displeased and unless the staff improves their attitudes, I don’t really want to spend my time here. I have a membership at 24 as well so I’ve started just going there.Other than that, it’s a wonderful gym. Just get new staff
Has all the amenities i need, a reasonable price and a good daycare. Wish the hours were longer but I have enjoyed it since upgrading from PF a few months ago
I love this place. The choices in equipment is the best. I have preexisting injuries to my knees so the pool is perfect. I dont care about the staff, or whats on the tvs, I come her to workout. I used to be 600 lbs now Im 400 lbs. For 30 $ a month you cant find a better place.
Been members for a year and primarily use the pool and hot tub. Facility is kept fairly clean. Not much else to say...
Been a memmber for 6 maybe 7 years now, just a regular gym. No standout features, pool is barely maintained, class sizes and variety is decreasing.probably wouldnt recommend but like all gyms its low enough in price to keep from quitting
This LA fitness is really well ran and the staff are all pretty great. The trainers are super knowledgeable and helpful when you work with them. I do wish they’d bring back their old hours though.
I always have access to any machine I want...regardless of the time of day. The locker room are clean. The classes are good. However, I would be HIGHLY interested in a more energetic spin instructor. High energy music and an upbeat, enthusiastic instructor could really up the anty!
The club is OK, but when it comes to cancellation of the membership, they made it as inconvenient as possible. You can not cancel on a weekend and only have to be there in person Mon- Fri 9-5, without any other option to cancel over the phone or email. I have moved to Portland and have to take a day off the work just to go over to Vancouver to cancel gym membership?
Have sent in multiple membership cancellation requests and no response... so I drove 45 minutes out of my way only for the manager to tell me he didnt have the ability to cancel my membership after 5pm... but amazingly he still has access to create memberships?? Business practices are poorly executed and shady.
Regular folks good group to we work out with.
Honestly, i dont understand why people give this place such a bad rep. Its a really nice place to workout and everyone is friendly and all the classes they offer are fun. Im on a 2 week free trial, and im definitely getting a membership once that expired
Love this place! They have childcare.. just wish my son loved it as much as I do!! Lol!
I think it a great neighborhood gym for the price. I was paying $90 a month in Texas !
Notifying patrons when a class is cancelled would be helpful. No sign on the door, no mention by staff, very frustrating.People like me who travel across town, suit up, and then find out the news really get ticked off. This could be easily avoided by a simple sign, or perhaps txt alerts.
This is an excellent facility when it comes to equipment, design, and cleanliness. There is no waiting for equipment in the AM but I hear it is busy in the evening. The design and lay-out is second to none. The Kids Club is a great benefit for parents.I qualify for Silver and Fit through Kaiser at 24 Hour Fitness, Cascade Fitness and Firstenberg and as a result, could get free membership at those places but I prefer the feel of 24 hour fitness and pay for membership. I like it even better since they turned the music down. Unfortunately, this is where the praise ends.I have found this club to be very user unfriendly and the staff and management both lack personality and friendliness. The manager Bruce will not speak unless I speak first. I rarely get a hello or goodbye from him and the same goes for the front desk staff who seem too occupied talking on the phone or to each other to give you a smile and a friendly greeting. There are, however, some exceptions. The trainers who work in the gym are no better. In the two years I have been there, there has only been one trainer who has ever approached me to ask how is it going? His name is John. One of the trainers who is an acquaintance, said that the number one complaint in the training classes is the heat, but when you ask Bruce why fans are not allowed, his only comment is Its against company policy. Trainers are also told they cant turn the lights off to reduce the heat because it is against company policy.Recently, I brought my 13 year old niece with me as a guest and possible future member. Other gyms allow one free visit for guests as a good will gesture but not at LA Fitness. When asked for a free guest pass, we were told we would have to pay $15.00. I persisted and the front desk person asked the manager, Bruce who referred her to another employee who referred us to one of the sales staff who tried to sell us a membership. I explained that my niece was from out of town but he would not relent and asked us to pay $15.00. My niece was so turned off by the whole episode that she said she would never join LA Fitness and I cant blame her. It was a public relations disaster.LA Fitness has a lot going for it with its clean up to date modern facilities but should focus more on excellent service, friendly cheerful staff and lighten up on rigid draconian corporate policies.
Ive been to bad, dirty, and uncaring gyms before. This LA Fitness is not one of them. Very clean, newer equipment, courteous and n welcoming staff. I skip the team shorts and training, but its a great gym fur $30/month. My only complaint is there is no snack bar that you see at other LA Fitness gyms.
Words can not express how disappointed I am with LA Fitness. They have done nothing but rip me off since day 1. I purchased personal training which was a total rip off and a JOKE. I was told that my personal training would expire at the end of April, but they were STILL charging me after my contract ended stating that I needed to cancel my subscription to personal training. I was NEVER told that this was the case. There were a ton of hidden fees I was never told about. I had to scream bloody murderer in order to get my money back and they were very rude to me. You would think that they would treat me better after giving them so much money but instead they act entitled to it. For sure do not do the personal training, but I would advise you that its best to avoid this gym altogether. Its been a terrible experience.
I went to this gym for like 2 years but had to switch to a different gym because of their hours. They started closing early. I really liked that gym because it was affordable about 30 dollars a month. They have a lot of different machines for both upper and lower body. Upstairs they have lots of machines for cardio. This gym also has a sauna, pool, and showers. They also have some kind of activities in the morning and some in the afternoon. I went to zumba dance couple time and it was fun!!!! Nice gym sucks they close early😌
Update 12/29/2016:Going to 4 stars. They listened! They put FOX News (the Nations most-watched news network) back. Thats fantastic--now we have the top-rated news network again and something I can actually watch during cardio. For this place to go 5-star, Id need to get computers on those spin class bikes. Its hard to stay psyched/motivated when you have no point of reference. All complaining aside, this gym stays pretty clean, equipment gets maintenanced, and staff are friendly.Old Review:Great gym but they impose (their) political views on members. Ever since a Trumps election, they pulled Fox News but kept CNN (Clinton News Network). Why not let your members choose which programming to view and not censor based on some nefarious brainwashing agenda? Fox News is far more popular nationally yet Im forced now to have one news station with extreme inaccuracy that knowingly hid truths about candidates during the election. I cant help but see an agenda here.Bring back the other channel and let your patrons choose!
Good facilities, but some of the policies are very unpleasant.
I love the gym, weights are not over crowded. The only thing I wanted to comment on was going to the hot tub is unsafe. No mats you can easily slip and fall. Im hoping that will change soon and they will put mats in the pool area to walk to the hot tub. So be careful for now....
Wonderful place to work out even if you are self conscious.
Scam Alert! Tried to go into club with husband on Saturday March 26th. I was told I was not allowed until an operations manager was in on Monday. I was moving out of area! Super suspicious! Went to Oregon branch no problems.... watch out!
Awesome
Clean and not overcrowded, good equipment selection, nice pool and sauna. The prices are affordable, especially if you choose a 3-year plan.
Glad they are open
Initially was just checking out the hours of operations and was thrown off by the 2.9 star average... I see people on here complaining about what TV programs they do or dont play and concerned about having different staff from time to time. In my opinion, I dont see how any of these issues cause a problem. You go to the gym to workout and better yourself. If youre worried about whats on the TV or who a different person at the front desk, then you have bigger issues at hand.As far as the facility goes, they are clean, have a lot of equipment and a great selection of barbells and dumbbells, not to mention the pool and spa area as well. Overall its a great place to workout at.
Always can get a machine anytime of the day. I REALLY love this quality. And the locker rooms are always clean. Thank you! Only complaint is that I have taken several spin classes and I always leave unsatisfied. I would like to see a more enthusiastic, high energy, personal trainer-like instructor here for spin
I like all the classes offered and the hours of operation for my schedule needs. A great place to work out!
Good facility. Never too crowded. Clean locker rooms.
Been going to this gym for over 2 years. Its clean and has everything I need. Affordable and the staff is friendly.
Good clean gym, not the meat market type. Just a good place to workout.
Some freak stole my belt in a locker room I cant believe it!. So be careful they can steal your dirty underwear! I guess low class people go to this facility, Other then that its not bad place at all.
I visited this location (I was living in Florida at the time) and its the cleanest LA fitness Ive ever been to.
I used the gym for about a year with no complaints. I cancelled my membership due to a change of circumstance and was a sent a corresponding notice that I was no longer a member. L.A. Fitness continued to bill me however and it took several months and numerous phone calls to finally get them to delete my payment information and stop charging me. They have not, to this date refunded the money I was charged after the date my cancellation. I chose not to pursue the matter legally out of sheer exhaustion but I will obviously never be a customer again.
A lot cleaner than other gyms, and I find Im not working out one side more than the other due to deteriorating pads on equipment. It would be nice though if they had a steady 5am-11pm or 5am-midnight instead of every few days different times and different times from summer and winter. I would even be ok for the late night if a few rows of lights were turned off.. LA and 24 are about the most expensive so why isnt LA open longer as well?
Open-air feel with high ceilings, excellent equipment, and relatively uncrowded. Management/staff could be more friendly. Cancelation policy is entirely unethical.
I have been a member at this location for seven years. I have observed a constant turnover with management and staff. The girls that work at the front desk have told me This is a terrible place to work I have written to corporate pointing out glaring cleanliness and sanitation issues and have been ignored. In my opinion, the manager Will, is apathetic and complacent about his job and clientel. Equipment is out of order for weeks and sometimes months at a time. A new operations manager named Tyler came on the scene a few months ago and a week after the election he deleted all four TVs playing Fox News Channel. There was an outcry from several members and now there is one TV with FNC. Tylers my way or the highway attitude and refusal to listen to his members is what pushed me over the edge. I have cancelled my membership and joined Planet Fitness, a locally, independently owned franchise that really cares about it members. As a bonus, monthly dues are $10.00. Tyler, why do you carry your backpack with you every time you go to the mens room?
My favorite gym they have everything great service and great equipment
Clean, nice facilities and very well managed. I worjouw primarily alone and have never used a teainer so icantI vouch for any of that. They have also added new equipment steadily to follow trends. Membership and payment was painless, and they run pretty good deals quite often, definitely worth the money. it is really nice that they have the pool, jacuzzi and sauna facikifaci as well.
I like going there to wear extremely revealing clothing and spending too much time at the water fountain, the people are really nice, except for this one guy at the front that always mugs me when I walk in. The weights/machines are really diverse, except for that theres only 1 squat rack and theres always a crossfitter taking it up all night. I really only go there in the early to mid evenings so I cant comment on the morning shift.
Love this gym, great amount of floor space and equipment. The trainers are very knowledgeable and the managers are friendly and helpful.
