They were nice and friendly when driving my car up for an estimate. I waited less than 15 min before I was able to drive off and the quote was emailed to me later that same afternoon... The one thing I did not appreciate, is that when I called in to inquire a basic guesstimate of my non running/driving van . So I could calculate if the cost would be worth having to get it towed out there to fix or not. However the man on the phone was quite disappointing; insisting there is just no way possible to give even a general idea of the highest and lowest cost or anything over the phone.

They are such a wonderful place. They care about low income and you can fill it an application on line it especially helps when your vehicle needs to go into the shop.

I had a shop mistakenly not install some of the mud flaps inside the front wheel wells when I had a service completed. They said they would take care of it for me since I moved back to Washington state from Colorado (I had the service in Colorado) the guys found the Carpenters garage close by me and made the phone call and had me go in to have them look. Mind you this was nearly three weeks ago now. I showed up and they looked at it and said they know what they need to order, I reminded them of the situation and they said they will take care of me. One week goes by so I call to get a update. They forgot who I was and said they would call me back. The next day I called again and got the run around that they would arrive the following day. So I waited again. No phone call, no voicemail nothing. I called them again on about week 2 and left a voicemail. No return call. I called again last night (roughly week 3) and no return phone call. What a great way to introduce yourselves to someone who would have loved to make you the main service center for my vehicle. I’m finding another shop to replace what was missing and will never be back to these guys again. I was incredibly patient and understanding that you were “busy” when I called. So thanks for wasting my time, I’m sure you don’t care to waste your own. Can’t imagine a business like this will remain open for long with this customer service. Good luck to you fellas, you’ll need it. Oh and by the way Eric was the one I talked to so everyone knows, nice guy, but clearly not organized. Thanks for nothing.

Love this place they very helpful

I normally dont post reviews unless I have done a lot of business with someone, and I have done a lot of business with the Carpenters Garage, and I want everyone to know how great this business is. They actually care about their customers, and they do great work! They have always done great work for me on my Pathfinder, and I recommend them to anyone and everyone! If you want to make sure that your vehicle is fixed right, then bring it to the Carpenters Garage! They are great people who really do care about their customers!

Ive taken both of my cars there for diagnostic work and they do it right the first time. Kyle is super nice and friendly and the turnaround time is fast. They are also a Christ-centered nonprofit and do great outreach in the community helping needy families and single moms with discounts on auto repair and other assistance. They do great work and more than just fix your car, but help those in need. What other auto shop does that? They also have a membership program that helps manage maintenance and gives discounts to members. Great shop. Highly recommended.

No hospitality whatsoever. They got rid of the receptionist now you just deal with impatient gm/mechanic. I will never refer anyone in community to Carpenters Garage for fear they will receive the same treatment from a Christian establishment. I am full time student with financial aid as my main source of income and on state assistance for food. I qualified for reduced labor but opted to sell my vehicle and refer back to public transportation for the time after the treatment I received from the front desk. Im sorry the pressure is on for affording the location and this is the result.

Every single time I have used this shop for my car repair needs I have been treated with respect and like family. Absolutely no run around. Matt in the office is such a valuable asset to this company. When I barely got my car to this shop (limping it there in 1st gear) Matt saw the rough afternoon I had ahead of me and took me and my kids home so we could continue with our day. Top notch family atmosphere with care and attention to detail. I will never go anywhere else!!! Highly recommended.

Eric was the first person I met here, he made sure my needs were taking care of as far as our tire, went, there was a waiting room, very comfortable, snacks and soda were provided as well as popcorn. I went to another shop for a repair and the shop gave me a long list of what needs to be fixed that will cost $2600 with insurance so I decided to get a second opinion. My wife found Carpenters Garage and brought my car there. I was surprised when I was told that I will pay $520 that includes labor and the car parts that was replaced. I found a place where I could bring my car needs. :) If I remember the name of the guy who fixed my car, kudos to Omar and his team.

They are nice and friendly, but are religious so beware that they have a lot of Christuan magazines ect in their waiting room.

The Carpenters Garage is a very honest and trustworthy shop. Before coming to this shop, I went to a different one in Vancouver. The shop wanted to charge me $2,000 for repairs. I decided to get a second opinion at Carpenters Garage. They identified and fixed the problem for $130! Instead of racking up a huge bill to make a profit, they were truthful. This is the only shop in Vancouver I trust with fixing my car and charging a fair price.

You really cant go wrong taking your car to Carpenters Garage. The people are honest, professional and always punctual. They have great great prices for people that cant typically afford the average cost of taking a car to the mechanic. Would highly recommend them to anyone who needs any type of work done.

Called today and Bill the GM hung up on me twice after being called out. He claims I owe them money when they already released my car to AAA with ZERO balance. And I have emails saying they were fixing their mistake and because of my bad press hes recanting.*UPDATE* WAS TOLD YESTERDAY THEY WOULD PICK IT UP AND AT LEAST PUT IT BACK TOGETHER AND HAVE IT TOWED BACK TO MY PLACE...CAME HOME FROM WORK AND ITS STILL HERE...I CALLED AND THEY SAID IT WAS BECAUSE OF THE BAD REVIEW!!!! SO I CALLED WHO CLAIMS TO BE THE HEAD OF THE MINISTRY THAT RUNS THIS PLACE AND GOOD OL MIKE HUNG UP ON ME TWICE!!! #BBBDOOOONT TAKE YOUR VEHICLE HERE...Took my car in RUNNING but not driving...after finding out the work that needed to be done was too much...towed it home and my ENGINE IS IN MY BACK SEAT!

I would like to say that I enjoy the people at the Carpenters garage they are very helpful and do wonderful things to help the peoples needs. If the person below would check, most oil changing companies charge a disposal fee. I have gone to places that advertise 19.95 oil changes and had to pay up to $50.00 by the time they were done.

Dont go! I cant believe the run around and time wasted at this shop. For the most part from what they told me, its supposed to be a christian based shop, well thats not represented very well. Took my car in for an estimate, they worked on the car, said the car was fixed, but when I picked up the car, the service engine light was still on and the gas gage still wasnt working. All they had done correctly at that point was fix my windshield wipers. Took the car in for them to correct the problem but got an higher quote, they supposedly had fixed the service engine light but hours later it was back on. Took the car back so they could fix the gas gage, dropped my car off at 9 a.m. they said it would be fixed by 3 or 3:30, well it was 5:00 no phone call to at least give me an update so I just went to the shop. You should have seen the looks I was getting when I was in the office! Not to mention the car wasnt even at the shop, it was at their other shop which I had no idea they had. Their trying to explain but at this point and time I had given up, I said never mind can you just put the car back together and bring it to me. Im very disappointed, especially when they came so highly recommended. They will not have to worry about me coming back, nor will I recommend anyone else. And I wouldnt even give a one star rating, but I had to do so in order to post!

Its affordable and the staff are friendly.

Standard auto repair club. They do offer discount on labor for low income, but must bring in paperwork and might have to wait a considerable amount of time to gain approval. Parts are not at discount! Really better to goto a auto parts store like Baxters and ask for a referral to a cheap local mechanic or do yourself. Better prices to be found by other means like pick and pull or trade groups on Facebook. Not recommended.

I would prefer to give a ZERO star rating. Absolutely terrible service. What should have taken one hour, turned into four and a half hours waiting. I was not notified there was a waiting room. I spent part of that time waiting outside in one hundred degree weather because their lobby is so small. And, I was not notified when my vehicle was ready. I had to come back and check, even after calling for an update.

I have been taking my vehicles to Carpenters since 2010. I have never left a review for them, because they speak for themselves. (they rock)I happened across this review left by Jim Davella, below, and just wanted to respond...Capenters is not Jiffy Lube or a franchise Oil Change place... These are real mechanics working in a real shop.If you want a cheap oil change go to one of those other places.If you want quality mechanics doing quality work on your car for a fee that fits your income. YOU CANT BEAT CARPENTERS GARAGE !This family of good people will always do what is best for the customer, not themselves.I am sorry for your experience, but as for my past 3 years of dealing with Carpenters Garage, I wouldnt recommend anyone as highly as I recommend them.Great People, Great Service, Great Pricing. Scam artists.... can’t believe this place is still open, insane how they can claim to be a non profit when all they do is steal money from low income families.

If I could rate this place a -10 I would. So disappointed with the whole of this company. They misrepresent what they say they do. Suppose to help people in the community however they are a scam. Wasted time and gas taking my vehicle in. They do not stand by their word was told one thing on the phone, and a whole different story in office. 😑😒

All Ive done is called Matt and got quotes and WOW the amazing customer service this man went out of his way to provide Im speechless and I havent even had the work done there but I do know where I will be going just based upon the time and patience he took with me. He spent so much time on the phone with me to hear about the problems and concerns I had and have had didnt rush to get off the phone asked questions to help solve the problem and problems that could arise gave suggestions I mean WOW amazing I am so impressed with this. He even asked to call me back cause I gave him a unique situation (cant make it to easy for him haha) he kept his word he called me back in 20 mins like he promised I have yet to have another shop do that. Matt thank you from the bottom of my heart for your time, honesty and most of all understanding the empathy you showed over the phone for my situation is so appreciated you have no idea. I am extremely low income, alone and sick. I was recently diagnosed with lung cancer. I have not been able to get to doctors appointments, I do not even live on a busline i have no friends nor family to help me. and was completely devastated when my car died - head gasket and timing belt replacement needed. I wrote to Caprpenters Garage excited to have been given the discount - something I had to call to find out because I never got the letter they insist that they sent which becomes important later.I get help to tow my car and leave it there and then dont. Hear anything after i get a call saying they have it and will be fixing it.Then i hear nothing and I am scared because i dont know what ill do if it goes bad and it didThey claim to have contactef me again and charged me 449.00 for storing my car it is not fixed and they say its over a 1,000 to fix -Thats with 50% off and i was told on the phone the most it would be assuming everything went wrong was $650!Im completely devastated and in real trouble. Beware. I have to contact legal aid and meanwhile my car sits undriveable with expired tags where it will get towed - they guaranteed me it will. Nice way to treat someone really in need.

When the local dealership told me it was going to be over 700 to fix my car after being stolen and many tow jobs to get to the dealer, these men at the carpenters garage saved me and my car. I cant say thank you enough.
