I went to Brake Zone for the second time ever today and was just taken aback by the friendliness, helpfulness and service. I believe very much so that women are easily overcharged for services such as these and felt comfortable and confident in what Taylor and Jack not only told me, but showed me needed done. I appreciate this shop and recommend.

The best experience I’ve had at a mechanic.I’ve been having battery problems for a while, and multiple places have “fixed” the issue or told me it was nothing. The guys here took the time to actually diagnose the problem and fix what was going on, they kept me informed about what they were doing, and never talked down to me/tried to get me to pay for me extra stuff I don’t need. Absolutely coming back & would recommend them to everyone.

I wanted to love this place. The guy at the desk was super chill and he was very proud of the high ratings the shop has here on Google. I thought I would finally be treated right at a car place.I went in for a free brake check. Next thing i knew, they were doing work on my rotors without asking, charging me $180, and sending me out the door. WITH THE PROBLEM NOT FIXED IN THE SLIGHTEST, mind you. They even made sure to tell me I had 75% of my brake pads left and that the work they were doing would definitely fix the squeal. No such luck, at least now I know it isnt the brakes making the noise. Couldve been a more expensive trip, sure... but I felt like they were so overwhelmed with too many cars on the lot that they just chucked me out of there as fast as they could to make more money on other cars.In short, a typical auto mechanic experience, EXCEPT their prices are appear to be more reasonable than at other places. Dont come here for a diagnosis of whats wrong, but DO come here if you just need something simple done and already know exactly what the issue is.To the owner: Im really sorry to not be able to rate you guys higher, but... i wasted my (and your) time by coming there. Keep up the great service, but maybe try to take a few extra seconds to take care of customers instead of rushing them out the door. Im gonna try somebody else in town next for this now-increasing issue that was wholly unresolved in your shop, but ill come back to you for easy brakes or tires type of jobs.

I walked in and was greeted warmly. Mark was very knowledgeable, and gave the impression of someone who truly takes pride in customer service. I watched him explain in detail various issues with another customers car, and then help them prioritize which needed to be done so as to not exceed the persons budget. It was reassuring to see such honesty in what can sometimes be a scary situation to be in. I would recommend brake zone to anyone I can, and I plan to. I was referred by a close friend and made the trip all the way from Kelso WA.

Usually when you go to a shop, they try to sell you many things and suggest maintenance that does not need to be done. Here, it is quite the opposite. They do way more than just brakes! We recently moved from Texas and have been trying to find a decent shop to being our auto to...found it! Mark was straight to the point, no dilly dallying around and explained exactly what needed to be done. He will do that for you too, trust me. I will be returning to Brake Zone for future business and I highly recommend to anyone and everyone.

I confess the clutter and disorganization of the place really put me off initially. There is none of the order or clear workflow I normally associate with a successful shop. However a few minutes with the owner and his protege made it obvious why this place routinely gets five stars - I dont recall ever meeting anyone as masterful, knowledgeable, or fast with brakes. I would not hesitate to come here again. My relatively small problem was rapidly diagnosed, and even more rapidly fixed, with an extremely thorough and detailed explanation offered. There was no sense I was being upsold, or any attempt to talk me into products or services I didnt need. If you want masterful service and dont mind clutter, this is your place.

Well thought I was capable of doing my own full brake service. We got the parts all correct and then no brake pedal. I had zero pressure almost. Called them up this morning and they were full but he got me in and worked out a way to fix it. Next time I think I’ll leave it to the pros and very affordable. He doesn’t try to screw you over like most mechanics.

Best service in town by far, Mark and his team are very professional. Matt did amazing work on my car replacing the timing chain. The entire engine had to come out which was a great opportunity to replace other major components that were showing signs of failure which would have been more expensive to replace at a later time. Mark and the guys at Brake Zone were my angels. I had been driving around with no brake lights for several days because several companies told me they couldn’t help me with the issue. Mark was straight forward and gave me a fair price to get my switch replaced. They fixed it within a matter of a couple hours and I was out of there. Old man in the office is nice and straight up. They do start the work right away. He recomend to me what to replace, and discuss on the parts and work that needs to be done. What we have agreed on what to fix on my brake system have done right. He check on the work himself in the shop to make sure everything are good, he called me up to show the work they did and parts that they had replaced. replaced on front axle, are Rotors, Calipers, Brake pads and brake fluid flush. He also gave me a discount%, paid $594 tax incl. and with 2 yrs. warranty

I couldn’t get my car to start, even with a jump. I had heard Brake Zone was a solid place, so I called them. Mark brought the Tow Zone truck and was able to jump start the car! Then he followed me (to make sure the car didn’t die...so sweet!) to his shop to get a new battery. Every bay was full with cars being repaired, but Mark had one of his guys stop what he was doing to install my battery. The guy jumped right to work and did so with a smile. I honestly can’t believe how quick and painless the whole thing was. Mark and his crew were really great! Not only were they helpful and did a great job with my battery, but it didn’t cost an arm and a leg. The Brake Zone guys are also great humans, surrounding their Christmas tree with presents for a local toy drive. I would wholeheartedly recommend Brake Zone!

On our way to California from Washington and we hit a piece of rubber tire while towing our travel trailer. It sliced our brake line and we had no truck brakes. This was the first place I called and the owner was more than accommodating to get us right in. They had to order two different parts and they made it all work. In 3 hours we were safely on the road again. I’m so grateful to the whole staff. They were all so friendly, warm, and reassuring they would do their best. These guys were great. Very knowledgeable and informed me of an issue I would need fixed instead of doing just what was asked and nothing more. They gave me a heads up before they even got to work after inspecting the breaks I needed fixed. Couldnt afford to do that other thing at the time, but I will be going back to them to get the other part of my break issue done. As well as anything else that is emergent enough as time goes on. From the other reviews and the fact they were close, I gave them a chance and was beyond pleased with my experience.

I recently went in for a brake job- I could feel them failing. After being quoted upwards of $800 at other places, I found Mark at Brake Zone. My brakes cost just over $300. However, my GMC was in need of repairs. With 100,000 miles on it, I wasn’t surprised. So yes, I paid more when I left, but my car runs great now. Not only that, Mark had the mechanic save all the older/failing parts so I was able to see what was done. I didn’t feel as if I was being taken advantage of.I have recommended Brake Zone to a few people already. If you want a good deal with peace of mind, I highly recommend going in to see Mark

This is hands down the best shop Ive ever been to. Ill never take my car anywhere else. All the guys were amazing. As a woman, Im always nervous about taking my car to a so myself. They were great though. No one trying to get one over on me or speaking to me like Im an idiot. I cant possibly recommend this place enough. And they were quick too. Brake Zone is great, the staff is super friendly and efficient! I showed up from Southern California with a broken Axle and control arm and I was out of there in 6 hours. I stopped by for some help with getting my license plate taken off because the bolts were stuck from 6 years of rust and they wouldn’t come off with a screwdriver or a wrench. They used their tools to get it off in a matter of minutes free of charge! He also gave me some advice about some issues I’ve been having with my headlight. I will definitely be making this my neighborhood body shop for any future issues that come up.

Great repair shop and just great people.

Mark and the crew is a breath of fresh air for the mechanics world. Mark spent a half hour with me driving around and diagnosing my tire issues. He didn’t charge me a dime and told me he just wanted to earn my business. I didn’t need anything taken care of right away (Besides alignment which he referred me to another shop for) but he never once tried to sell me on anything. Mark you’ve got my business for life.

I have been taking my cars to this shop for about two years and have not ever had any issues. Mark is always there for any question and provides honest and professional recommendations. He does not push for costly fixes if they are not urgent and tells you what your car really needs. Read to the end why I changed my rating.My husband took our car to them to get an emissions waiver because the car had previously not passed an emissions test. But when he took the car in for emissions, it DID pass. So we called and talked to Mark at Brake Zone to ask if the waiver was refundable. He said no, but he would be glad to give us a $100 credit at his shop.Few weeks later, our van needed brake service. I called and talked to Mark to see if I needed to schedule an appointment and discussed the brakes on the van and the $100 credit. Set up a time to drop off the van (a Sunday evening), was instructed to leave the keys and a note in the after-hours drop box and he would get to it the following Monday, and would only need it for a half day.On Monday at 12:30, called and talked to Mark about an update on the van. He said he didn’t know anything about the van except that it was in his parking lot in the morning. I reminded him of the previous conversation we had and also that I had typed a note about what we needed and it was in an envelope with the keys. He said he hadn’t yet checked the drop box for the keys and said he had been waiting for me to call.Around 5pm he called to say the van is finished and gives me the total. I ask if that already includes the $100 credit. He says, “What credit would that be?” And then says he has already knocked the price down here and there and he didn’t know anything about a $100 credit when he started the repairs.He said he would give us $50 off today and another $50 off another time. I told him I’d take the $50 today but we won’t be back for the other credit.I wrote this review on our way to pick up the van. When we arrived, Mark gave my husband a fifty dollar bill and apologized. He said he strives to be honest in his business and losing our business wasnt worth $50. He also approached me as I got into my van and apologized. He said that he, and the guys that work at his shop, are all in recovery. Knowing personally how hard the road to recovery is, and recognizing his effort to make an amends, I really respected what he had to say. It takes a lot of humility and courage to do what he did, and I wanted to give him back his $50 but he wouldnt accept it. The best I can do is change my 1 star to a 5 star to support this guy who is doing his best, one day at a time. I think he genuinely strives to be honest in his daily dealings, and if he makes a mistake, has the guts to own it and make it right.

Brake Zone is now the only shop Ill ever use when I need work done in my car. If all independent shops operated their businesses the way Mark does, the big corporate shops would barely exist. All the work I and my family have had performed here has been excellent. Mark, the owner, is great to chat with and he makes sure Ive got the right equipment in working order. Hes even willing to help people who have a difficult time affording necessary repairs. His employees all know what theyre doing and they do it well. Mark is very honest and up front about what your vehicle actually needs versus pressuring you to buy a more expensive service or recommend unnecessary repairs. A refreshing change over the 30+ overpriced things the corporate shops push.Wait times are very low, as he always finds a way to get you in and the work done. Im a VERY satisfied customer. Youre awesome, Mark! Definitely never left without a smile. Thanks again for all your hard work, dedication, honesty, and understanding. You will never regret stopping in at Brake Zone.
