Today Jeff came to our house to do an inspection on our A/C unit that was not working properly. He arrived on time and brought all the necessary tools. He was very knowledgable and polite. He spent over 2 hours to do every single check on the A/C system to make sure the unit will run fine. He even shared some tips. My wife and kids are so happy we have our A/C up and running. We really appreciate Jeffs work and strongly recommend Advantage for any Heating and ccoling services. Every year we renew the HVAC maintenance agreement with them. It is very cost effective. We had a recent install of furnace and ac. We thought everyone we dealt with from office to sales to technicians were super professional and patient. They answered all of our questions and made us not feel silly for asking them. Wyatt and crew showed tremendous patience when it seemed like there were challenges in the installation process. I even noted at the time I would have not shown that much grace in the situation. In my opinion, the mark of a great business is standing behind their service and advantage did just that when there were issues that were beyond their control. They went above to make it right. They definitely earned customer loyalty through their actions.
I had called to ask for a quote. They said they would have to come by and see the job. I told them it was a 30 minute job at the most. They said their minimum was $600. I have no issues paying for a professional and their knowledge. But $600 is a joke. I would move on to the next place if I were you.

After dealing with several other local HVAC companies, I finally stumbled upon Advantage; and Im glad I did. The initial inspection and quote process was extremely informative. Justin taught me how a heat pump and air handler work together to cool/heat a home. He also taught me about the different types of heat pump and explained the advantages and disadvantages of each (including price). I was not pressured to make a decision that day, which I am grateful for. Too many companies try to get you to sign a contract on the same day, and I need a night to sleep on big purchases. Once I reviewed the proposals and made a decision, I worked with Trish to get the financing figured out and we scheduled a date (from quote to completed install was 12 days, 4 of which were spent considering each of the proposals). They could have done everything in a week, Im sure of it! Finally, the install. Wyatt and Brayden worked swiftly and skillfully to finish the entire install in 1.5 days. The quality of their work shows - everything looks and works better than I expected. They left no mess and were very respectful (I was working from home both days, and I was able to take meetings without any interruption - maybe just some drilling from time to time but nothing crazy). Both were wearing masks the entire time which is much appreciated given the current pandemic. Overall, I couldnt be happier with the product or the service provided by the team at Advantage. Be sure you understand how charges work ahead of time. I did not completely understand. It is $105 for them to reach your door then they start adding charges. Summary: Excellent people, procedures and work at a high price. Details: Nick was very conscientious, did a very thorough job. He was fine with me watching and explained what he was doing. Nick is a very personable guy. He was very careful to be sure he had all the issues and by waiting an additional 10 min after he thought he might have found it the furnace failed and he found the motor capacitor. Repaired and waited another 10 minutes to be sure. Nick also helped me out by adding some sealing tape on my furnace in a few spots he waited. I think it was about $360 to find and change out the motor capacitor. Loved Nick and his work but hated the bill.

Five stars is not enough. From the initial quote by Matt, to the ice cold air cooling our house, we have been nothing but pleased with Advantage Heating and Cooling. Beyond just cost, they have their competition beat with their customer service. Scheduling, invoice/payment, and coordinating were super easy thanks to the helpful office team, I primarily dealt with Becky, Pam, and Stephanie. The technicians Josh, Cooper, and Wyatt were wonderful. They were very courteous, mindful of our time, respectful of our home, and were awesome with our dogs. Matt and Josh took the time to explain things in a way I could easily understand and remember. I have had several contractors in our home recently and I have not been more pleased than I have with Advantage. You could tell the family style atmosphere and level of respect for each other was genuine. Our new heating and cooling system is running great, and is quiet! Our old heat pump was pretty old and needed replacing. After several companies coming out to look at ours and tell us what we needed, Matt from Advantage Heating and Cooling showed up. He is the owner of this family business and most knowledgable, didnt push us to replace our old unit, and was easy to work with. We signed up with his company and the work was completed today. Josh and Wyatt, the two men who did the work, were awesome. They were quiet and respectful, yet fun to talk with. They explained how everything worked and left the areas as clean as they found it. Matt, the owner, also showed up on the first day to make sure everything was going smoothly. Permits, electrical inspections, county inspections and PUD rebates were all handled by the company. An easy and pleasant experience. We will be having them come yearly to service and clean. Cant say enough nice things about Advantage Heating and Cooling.

The initial consultation was very pleasant and I appreciated his down to earth honesty. It wasn’t a sales pitch.The installation went smoothly and the supervisor stopped by twice to make sure things were on track. They scheduled the inspection and everything passed with no issues
They were able to come the same day to take care of the heat pump which had quit working. In addition they gave me a two hour window. due to more extensive work that expected at their previous job site, they were very quick to call and let me know it would be later. and that was an hour before the scheduled time. When we got close to the new time, I was again called and given a heads up as to exact time when Jeff was on his way. What is more amazing is, they came at 5 pm. Did not cut me off due to end of work day.Jeff is fantastic. Professional, courteous, and explains everything he is doing or diagnosing so you understand what is going on. Even though after normal business hours, Jeff stayed even longer after fixing the electronic problem, to perform the annual maintenance/tuneup. I was amazed. Jeff at Advantage Heating and Cooling has been servicing my furnace and AC unit since I bought my house in Vancouver in 2007. He explains everything thoroughly, and in a language I can understand. On my most recent tuneup (fall winterizing of furnace), he found several cracks in the heat conduction unit (or something like that), and he had to switch off my heating system in the middle of a cold snap (temp was in the 20s).Veronica from the Advantage office staff dropped off several space heaters so our family wouldnt be cold, and Jeff and the office worked very efficiently to make sure that my new heating unit was installed in as short a time as possible. The team that came out for installation (not Jeff since he does maintenance only, not installations) explained everything, and left my house/garage very clean.Several years ago, Jeff introduced me to the maintenance plan, which saves me money on my maintenance work, as well as on the new furnace that I purchased. Alicia from the office is very good about calling me when its time to schedule maintenance. I feel very comfortable that my equipment is in good hands and in good condition with the regular maintenance.I am a huge fan of Jeff at Advantage. I wont have anybody else service my heating and AC equipment. Hes come out twice for emergencies in the middle of the night, and he always arrives promptly for appointments.I highly recommend Advantage Heating and Cooling in general, and Jeff in particular. He is very popular, so you might have to wait to get him for an appointment. However, hes worth the wait.I have no financial interest in this company. Air conditioner went out and, because they has such good Google reviews, I called them on a Friday, technician came on following Monday. He was polite and thorough. He did attempt the up-sell on the maintenance contract, which we declined. I appreciated his offering advice on how we could maintain our system on our own.Then, really disappointed when discovered (after the invoice) that the part they replaced, a dual capacitor, was billed at $284.46! Found the exact part online, from a reputable HVAC Distributor, for $67.88.So, called and discussed with them that we must have been charged for the wrong part. Understanding mark-ups, but that was about a 1500% mark-up! Was told that it was indeed the cost of the part and that it was the industry standard flat-fee because theirs is a heavy duty part.Pretty bummed because had almost felt that we had found a fair company to do business with. They do efficient work, you just have to really get gouged $$$ for it. :/
Jeff did a great job diagnosing the problem with our heat pump and air handler. He had the needed part with him and fixed it in a timely manner.He shared with me what he was doing as I watched. That I really appreciated. And it was hot in the attic where he had to work.
AC stopped. Tech Nic diagnosed as switch and replaced fuses. Up sold capacitor, quoted 100 dollars for new part. Final bill had capacitor at 286 which is nearly triple the 100 quote. Tech had me sign invoice and other docs after the fact. No explanation of added expense. Invoice does not separate part costs from labor expense. Any warranty was not explained by service tech, Nic. On phone with office later I negotiated a partial refund for the part and received an explanation of warranty. One last word by service tech as he parted, he said my AC should work this summer. I guess I was left wondering. Advice, find a company that quotes hourly rate plus part costs. If such a place exists...
I was very impressed with heat-pump service from Advantage Heating and Cooling. After requesting service, I received a reminder about the appointment a day before, and the technician (Chris) showed up within the proposed time window. He spent several hours checking and cleaning the outside heat pump and the air handling unit in the attic. He was very thorough and willing to explain his effort in detail. He even repaired some loose wires associated with emergency strip heating and verified that the system was delivering adequate air temperatures to ducts. I was so impressed that I signed up for regular service in the future. I highly recommend this outfit.
Justin came out right on time for our first time inspection and service at our new home. We received a phone call from the office letting us know that he was on his way 15 minutes prior to his arrival. Seeing as this is a new system and home for us Justin walked us through the whole systems functions and ensured that the wiring that I had done on the thermostat was correct. 5 stars. Our heater was not working so we set up an appointment with Advantage Heating and Cooling to come take a look at it. They gave us a 2 hour window when a technician would be here and they called us to give us a better idea of what time we should expect them within that window. The technician (Jeff) arrived on time and was extremely helpful and informative. He took the extra time to walk me through what he was looking at and what he was doing. He was very knowledgeable and professional and I would happily have this company come back out to do work again in the future.
Jeff came out to the house, performed diagnostics on our heat pump, and determined we had a refrigerant leak somewhere in the system. He patiently explained not only how he arrived at his verdict but other parts of his process after I showed an interest in how it all worked. He was pleasant, conscientious, courteous, and well-trained.Im confident Jeff was honest in explaining why we were going to have to spend more money. Our system is 13 years old, so it has limited life left in it before other components fail and need to be replaced, with diagnostic and installation costs attached. He offered as one alternative the installation of a brand new heat pump with a 12-year parts and 2-year labor warranty, which we chose, thinking it will cost us less in the long run. I still believe that was the correct decision.If I had to offer any way in which Jeff might improve his performance as a heating and cooling technician, I would have to stop and think hard, because hes so good at what he does. And then I would say this. He sometimes seemed rigid and unyielding in his conversational style, speaking in extended paragraphs rather than being open to a back-and-forth conversation. If he were more agile conversationally he would be seen as friendlier, although Im sure he has the very best intentions and is a good-hearted guy. Sometimes I felt he wasnt listening to my question so much as planning what he would say as soon as I stopped talking.He could also improve how he handled the paperwork. When I didnt have exact change and had to give him a little more cash than the amount hed written on the contract, he scribbled through the original number and wrote the new figure next to it rather than making a bankers correction (a single line through the wrong figure, initialed, and the correct number next to it). I would have more confidence in my cash receipt if it were written up properly.Overall, it was a very positive experience, and I would be happy to work with Jeff again. Advantage Heating and Cooling will continue to be our first choice for service on our heat pump.

This home had older units that had very little info when googling online but Jeff had extensive knowledge of the history of the furnace, A/C units, servicing, installation tweaks and was very helpful with questions I had. Last month we had an issue where our furnace started blowing cold air instead of hot- Advantage sent someone out same day to make sure we were up and running again.Today, the same issue returned, and it turns out it was just a lose connection. Not only did Justin get here hours before we expected him, he fixed us up in a matter of minutes and gave us some information about our furnace and troubleshooting steps to help ourselves in the future.We chose Advantage because their company sticker was on our furnace when we bought our house, but well keep coming back because of the great service Justin provided.
Have been with Advantage for over 5 years now using their PM annual plan. This gives me two included visits per year for summer and winter use. These PM agreements are known to be one of the best ways to prevent furnace fires in homes. I always get a reminder call prior to the scheduled date. Today the guys were running behind, but Becky from the office phoned and gave me the option of waiting or rescheduling. She then kept me informed as to when to expect Jeff and Justin. Last year, Advantage Heating and Cooling installed our ductless heat pump system. For years we have not had air conditioning in the summer, and while I admit that we have fairly mild summers, those hot hot days that seem to come every year, really got to us. For the past two summers we have been so comfortable. And the system kept us warm in the winter as well. Part of our problem from before was that our home was drafty. There were leaks here and there. Advantage came in and assessed those leaks, sealed them up, and installed proper insulation. It was a big job, done by the best, and we could not be happier. Thanks, Matt, Andy, and the rest. We had a full HVAC replacement and I couldnt be happier with the pricing, technical knowledge, and customer service at Advantage. I chose Advantage after getting 4 bids with varying levels of solutions ( I needed some ductwork modifications). This didnt end up being the cheapest bid, but it was several thousand dollars less than 2 of the bids and Im sure was a better solution than all of them. Everyone we worked with was top notch....from the owner Matt to the installers to the representatives on the phone. Post install, we had some minor warranty work pop up and they stood by their product. Really just an amazing team.

I called to get an evaluation on my HVAC system and a bid on ductless heating and was given an appointment for the very next day. While the technician, Jeff, was here he advised that diagnostics be run on the existing unit and, if needed, a tune up completed. I agreed and he stayed to complete the work that evening.Even though my system is old, 1994 and 1974, Jeff advised that the heat pump and furnace were still in very good working order and he taught me the things I needed to do to keep it that way!Jeff was thorough, explaining everything as he competently performed his work. Our electric heat pump water heater went out the night before Thanksgiving. Advantage had installed it for us about a year and half prior. When we called for service, it took them a little over a day to get back to us - I gather they were having some problems with their phone system, and they werent getting their messages.That said, when he did call us back, Jeff did an excellent job. He came out first thing the following morning, diagnosed the problem and was able to fix it quickly, for a fair price.The company that makes our water heater had recently gone out of business, but Jeff said that Advantage would continue to honor the 10 year warranty that it it came with regardless. I was very impressed with with the level of service, and will be calling them again, when we get ready replace our furnace.

I contacted Advantage HVAC in Vancouver, WA to set up a time for an inspection on an electric furnace and air conditioner unit for a home I recently purchased. The technician they sent out was Jeff. Jeff was on time as promised, stated to me exactly what services he was going to provide, and explained in detail the process of checking all the components on the furnace, including a few that had failed. Jeff had the replacement parts in his truck, relayed to me the cost, and replaced them quickly. Jeff provided me with a detailed written checklist of his work performed and educated me on what areas and components of the furnace that I should pay special attention to, which should help offset future expensive repairs. Jeff from Advantage was at our home on Tuesday to work on our heater. Darn thing wouldnt turn on when it was supposed to based on temp setting, but of course popped on a few minutes before Jeff arrived. Turns out it was a loose connector on the circuit board, and fell within the home warranty. Jeff was super nice and professional - not too chit chatty, but very personable. Got the work done quickly and efficiently. I know its a stereotype, but often repair people treat the client as if they are dumb and talk down to them. That was not the case with Jeff! I learned several things about the system than no other service person had ever bothered to share with me, such as: thermostats can be off by as much as 5 degrees; if your house is well ventilated, you can close off or partially close off the cold air coming into the system, so it doesnt have to work so hard to warm the air; and there is a valve on the duct work going upstairs, which allows you to direct more or less air upstairs as needed. We had a problem with the heater which stopped working over the weekend and called Advantage Heating and while they dont work on Sunday, they sent someone the next day. Jeff was very professional, knowledgeable and friendly. We fixed the problem and went above and beyond with his services. He even labeled the air intakes so we know which one is what. I gladly recommend this company and especially Jeff. Thank you for keeping us warm during the cold winter days!
Jeff is a great furnace person. We had problems during the cold weather and contacted him after hours. He was very responsive and assured us the furnace would be all right until morning. He was at our house around 7:00 a.m. the next day and repaired our furnace. We have always been able to depend on Jeff and Advantage Heating. They do a super job.
I would highly recommend Advantage. The technician, Justin, arrived within the 2 hour window (they call when hes 30 minutes out too) and was very professional and friendly. He performed the annual maintenance on both furnaces and afterwards explained what he did and didnt find. Great service, great company!

Super friendly technicians. Jeff came to my house tonight because my system wasnt operating correctly. He took the time to trouble shoot my system, teach me how to do some trouble shooting on my own and educate me on how the system works. He even caught mistake by my Security System when they installed my thermostat. This catch saved me what could potentially couldve been a very pricey fix if it had gone on unchecked. I highly recommend them.
I just have to rave about what great service we have consistently had from Advantage! We originally signed up for the service plan for our furnace but after a few good encounters decided to take the plunge and get a heat pump installed. We were bid a competitive price, with a very thorough explanation of different plans, and we were even offered financing options.The install date came right away, and the crew sent out were nothing short of amazing! These guys are the epitome of patience and professionalism, and forgive me if Ive gotten the names wrong; Matt, Brian, Chris, and Josh. They went above and beyond, staying until 8:30pm, making sure the adjustments to our existing ducting and so forth were aligned and sealed properly. By the end of the evening the crew was still in upbeat friendly spirits and, even after a long day, still took the time to answer all of my fiance Lowells questions about our new system. We would gladly refer Advantage to any of our friends and family. Thanks again, guys!

I had another company come in to check my system because I knew it had a small leak. They told me there would be a $99 trip fee. Once there, they told me there would be another $68 fee (also goes toward final repair) on top of that for doing a leak check (the original reason I called). After all was said and done the tech (nice guy and knowledgeable) found the leak in the inner coil, but he is not allowed to give pricing. A couple days later I call and they quote me their flat rate, which is way more than standard.I called around and Advantage Heating and Cooling are the only ones that would give me a quote of what the price would be if they did the work. $800 less and I am supporting a local business that actually cares about their customers. Thanks Matt for taking care of us. I will be letting everyone know that Advantage Heating and Cooling is the company to use.
