A newly-build apartment, the furnitures and kitchen are great. I love the design and theres ceiling light+fans, which is a bonus point to me.
For anyone whos read the bad reviews: Please understand that Ive seen a completely different side of Greencrest. The management that I dealt with, Salman, was *always* on top of any issue that came up, and was quick to work with us to solve anything. The location is beautiful, the apartments are spacious and renovated, and its in a superb location. Only positive things to say at this point.
I moved in here with an old friend of mine, a UIUC grad, for a year while I was finishing up at UIUC. The apartment was essentially brand new (my roommate and his previous roommate were the first to live there), spacious enough for two people, very modern, and pretty affordable given how new and nice it is. The location is also great for students or local residents alike since youre within walking distance of the University but still in a very quiet yet centralized part of town. The apartment manager Salman was also extremely polite, respectful, and quick to respond and work with my roommate and I regarding any issues or logistics. I would definitely recommend living here!
The Landlord, Sal, is friendly and attentive. When I had to extend my lease for a couple more months, he was very understanding and flexible. If I had a maintenance issue he’d keep me updated and provide reasons if there’d be any delays. The apartments are spacious and well-kept. Good place to call home.
Lived here for two years. The apartment manager Salman was always quick to address any issues or maintenance problems. Would definitely recommend it for a nice place to live!
I absolutely loved living at Greencrest Apartments! The furnishings are modern and the amenities, like the gym, lounge, on-site storage units and brand new appliances, definitely gave the property a luxury feel. The landlord was readily available and always went out of his way to help us out, no matter what we needed, and it was nice to have that personal relationship!
Apartments are new and super clean. They also have new appliances and it felt like home. Location is convenient and close to campus, plus landlord is very nice and always responds right away. Highly recommended!
Brand new apartments, very clean and modern look. Management and staff always on stand by to help, would come back and visit for sure. 10/10 recommended!
Honestly one of the cleanest and best places I’ve lived in. The building is well maintained. My only downside was their was noise and music that is blasted some weekends but the landlord tend to take care of issues really quickly. I would recommend this place to anyone.
Nice place to call home. Very convenient location. Landlord is a nice fellow.
I lived in this apartment for the 2018-19 school year. While the apartments themselves are new and in good condition, I have multiple issues with the management. The landlord is rude and can be unprofessional. He would frequently show up without 24 hours notice (as per Urbana law) and yet would also constantly reschedule meetings with his tenants even if they were important issues like changing names in mailboxes or fixing errors in the lease. They also never provided wifi or a printer in the study lounge (despite promising to do so), or an online payment portal (another promise).Halfway through the year I asked him to move into a different apt because of issues with my roommate. Though I was able to, we never did a walk-in for the new apartment, or corrected my lease agreement to reflect the new apartment. Upon moving out, he tried to charge me for issues present from the previous tenant, and if I hadnt taken photos I wouldve lost my security deposit. He also never changed the last names in the mailbox and so I had urgent & important mail lost multiple times because it wasnt being delivered. Even mail that went to my old apartment, and that my ex-roommate showed me she had given to the landlord somehow disappeared in his hands. It then took him *weeks* to give me the keys to the new apartment, and my new roommate had to always be home or leave the door unlocked, leaving our safety compromised. When he did give me the keys, he gave me only the apartment key and not the bedroom key (which took another two weeks). All these issues I communicated with him and continuously messaged him over. Nothing happened. Please rethink living in these apartments because you can find the same quality for the same price, with much much better management elsewhere.EDIT: 1) I only got my deposit back after me and some other residents threatened to sue Greencrest. 2) The “positive” reviews aren’t even from people who lived in the building, you can check in their other reviews that some of them live as far as Florida and NOT Illinois.
The landlords are disorganized, disrespectful, deceitful and simply do not care about the building or tenants. The landlords insulted me on multiple occasions, talked over me, accused me of stealing furniture and replacing it. I did not recieve my security deposit until SEVERAL MONTHS after moving out, and ONLY recieved it because I was ready to sue. Landlord also regularly came into the apartment without 24 hour notice required by Urbana law.VERY unprofessional. Would NOTrecommend. Most of these 5 star reviews are fake seeing as this is the second year these apartments are available for rent and these people were not my neighbors. Ill say it again, deceitful.
Incredibly unprofessional, do not live here!
Landlord is a liar and very unprofessional
