Angie as property manager was very unprofessional. Spent money for repairs without consultation with property owner. Trust is crucial, and when preferred vendors are friends, relatives, or mystery companies and receipts and invoices need to be dug out and specifically requested instead of being par for the course, it is hard not to question the integrity of the property manager. There was also a total lack of communication beforehand. Whether this is a function of laziness or simply trying to hide untrustworthy business... I do NOT recommend this company and especially Angie to property owners looking for a manager.
Does not discuss or consider the property owner’s needs before using funds. You will lose money for no reason. They kept double charging by “accident” and never corrected it themselves unless we went digging for receipts. Hard to trust
Excellent service! James Gosses was very kind and professional. I would highly recommend Genesis Real Estate & Management.
This was my very first time using a property management company. Myself and the tenant both struggled in communication with Angie. Her response times are extensive, and many excuses for the lack of follow up. Ian seems to have more time to respond, and is very to the point. However, I will be leaving Genesis and will look for a new representative in the next month or two.
You accessed this site looking for a property management company. If you want to get away with anything more than the shirt on your back, I suggest you LOOK ELSEWHERE. This is a voice of experience. I made the mistake of trusting the management of my properties to this company, thinking I would be relieved of having to attend to the day-to-day details of managing my properties, only to learn—the hard way—that there is no room for trust in dealing with them. With my properties, come to find out, their “preferred vendors” were relatives, friends, and in one case, a mystery vendor unregistered and with no legitimate address or telephone. For gardening, cleaning, and other services, I paid lawyer rates for handyman work. In nearly all cases, contrary to my contract, I was not informed ahead of time of the cost or nature of work to be done, learning of it only when it appeared on my owner’s statement. Then, when I decided to change management companies, to get out of my contract, suddenly my account was billed hundreds of dollars for charges previously never mentioned. I could go on, but you get the idea. Keep looking. Good luck.
Rented with this company beginning of 2020 everything was great until the move out process. We followed the contract and did as it said. Then when it came for our security deposit return we were given $400, out of a paid $1500. Touch up paint costed them $500 apparently even though our contract stated to not paint the rooms. And not to mention it took them almost 2 months to give us our “security deposit back” This place is a scandal find a better reality company to do your business with.
The property manager, Angie, didnt tell us before she spent money from our account, the vast majority of the time (including non-emergencies).Some of our losses are due to the managers undisclosed businesses. Angie paid $999 out of our account to a business that was a fake company, related to her. The phone number is the managers relative and the business address that was on the Genesis-generated invoice doesnt exist. Angie also paid her own company. When asked about it, Angie still didnt disclose her relationships with the businesses she was sending money into, from our account. The property manager claimed work that we and another contractor did, and charged us for it, without our knowledge at the time. This is blatantly illegal. We were, however, told about an AC installation, which cost him $4200 for a tiny 600 sq. ft. unit. They tried to sell us on doing two units(later I got a few quotes and the market rate was around $1600).
Worked with Kerri from Genesis to sell my triplex rental unit in a difficult area. Kerri worked tirelessly to get this property sold. I’ve had other agents who would list my property and forget it, looking for an easy buck. Kerri was the complete opposite, constantly coming up with better ideas, providing resources for upgrades, and always staying in touch. Go with Genesis and ask for Kerri.
The property manger, Angie penaShe is not honest and can not trust her.Property owner, Landlord should be careful.Repair it without asking the property owner and Angie is ripped off.
In the beginning I was having a rocky start communicating with genesis real estate. After 2 months the communication completely improved as well as my tickets are currently getting resolved. I appreciate genesis rectifying my tickets in a timely fashion.
Rep with the brown yukon keeps parking in handicap spaces
If i could give no stars i would. Looking at the reviews it all makes sense now. Its all good in the beginning just like they said. You can get better customer service at McDonalds or over the phone calling a china call center. Angie the main person is the worst thing that could of ever happened to them. Your better off getting a monkey at the zoo to do her job.
Very unprofessional whoever moves into 3944 e Lind rd your in for a treat. Roaches on roaches and spiders. Dont trust Angie Pena waited 10 days to have ac fixed she could care less and we had a child at the home. Came to check our house and pulled her mask down multiple times. Lied about property damage and the neighbor is a crackhead beware. Not pet friendly hate dogs. Aggressive breeds not allowed yet his roommate had Rottweiler
We really cannot recommend Daniel enough. He made the whole process so easy from beginning to end, and helped with anything involving the purchase. He is knowledgeable, genuine and trustworthy, and can be contacted very easily. We would use his services again in a heartbeat!
Recently I contacted Genesis Real Estate & Management to inquire about their services. I spoke to the operations Manager Ian and he was very helpful and even came out the same day with meet with me and my wife to see the home. He quoted me a higher amount than other companies for what he thought the home would rent for. I was a little skeptical but in the end I hired his firm to manage my property. He ended up renting my home out in under a week and got me $35 more than he quoted me that day.I would highly recommend you give Ian with Genesis Real Estate a call and see what he can do for you.
Just wrote a detailed review about Genesis Real Estate but dont see it as posted. I would recommend this company to anyone thats nervous and unsure about hiring a property manager. I have experience self managing and wish the rest of my properties were not in another State or I would turn them over to Genesis to Manage. If you need a good company to assist you give Genesis a call and ask for Ian Thomas!
Genesis Real Estate recently sold a home for us that they managed for the past few years. I wanted to share my experience with others that may be looking for a Property Manager or for assistance in buying or selling homes. From day one they have always been easy to reach as they provide you their cell numbers and emails. Anytime I had to reach out to them I would get very prompt response from them. They seem very organized and have shown strong communication skills. I had the pleasure of having my home both managed and sold through them. They even gave me a discount on their portion of the commission when they sold it.I would reccomend Genesis to anyone needing Real Estate services.Sincerely,Betty
Genesis Real Estate has managed multiple properties of mine for the past 7 years. We have a couple of friends that have had bad experiences with other companies that have now changed over to Genesis with no issues. I would recommend this company to anyone that doesnt have time to micromanage their property mangers.
I cannot say enough nice things about Angie. She has helped me out so much!!! I have never written a review in my life about anything. Her customer service was so good I decided to write a review, which I have never done before. I recommend her type of support for anything. I cant thank her enough!!!!!!!!!!
One of THE worst places ever! They wont help you at all. At first it seems like its going really good but Then over time its horrible. Weve been with them for almost a year and they are just theives. They blame our tenant but they wont give me the rent thats due correct. Dont Even waste your time with them. Really dissapointed in there service.
This rental company seems fair and cooperative at first until you move out of the property or ask for repairs. The house we rented in Sahuarita was very messy and the carpets were horrible. We were told by the Manager (Ian) we would not be held responsible. The previous renters had dogs and there was dog hair every where and damage to the sliding glass doors, walls, and previous leaks in the piping and faucets. We attempted to have the damage repaired while we lived there with no effort. The front living room had excessive water damage due to leaks from the outside that damaged the walls and floor boards with dark mold and a huge cheaply covered hole that caved in. After we moved out the manager (Ian) assured us we would not be charged or responsible and would receive our deposit back. He even expressed that his sidekick James should not have rented the property in the condition it was in and that he was upset it was in that poor condition. Despite his promises he charged us for every thing that he said He wouldnt plus some and of course the normal ware and tare we caused. Disappointing. Take pictures of EVERYTHING and do NOT move in or sign anything until they fix the damage on the property!!! Better yet.... Rent elsewhere!
I am not a fan of corporate companies when it comes to renting a home. I have used them and have had mixed reviews with the diff ones. This company is just starting out and could use a few lessons on 1. How to be polite. 2. How to listen to the owner. 3. cont. to list would be pointless. This review may come of insensitive but when it comes down to it building a new company should be done by making people happy. After all if you want to be successful you learn first how to run a good business. I do not recommend this company if you want to rent a home. University Area Rentals are a bigger company and you can talk directly to the owner. I just signed a lease with them after my experience with the owner of this company. JLN
Positive experience from the 1st phone call. I contacted them about Property Management Services and they came out the same day to meet with me. I had called several other companies and didnt reach anyone that could come out to meet me for several days.A couple of months later I moved out of my home and they listed it a day later for rent. They found a tenant that worked at Raytheon that moved in 11 days later.I would strongly recommend Genesis Real Estate if your needing property management services. They are very easy to reach by phone and very responsive to emails.
I would reccomend these the team at Genesis Real Estate to anyone that needs a home managed. I have a few properties I until recently self managed. I tried them out on one of my properties for 6 months then turned 4 others over to them. They have exceeded my expectations and have agreed to use my handyman for repairs. I felt good about this as he has fixed my properties for years. They dont care as they dont profit from repairs on rentals and dont have an i house full time repair guy. They outsource their repairs and are happy with my handyman and now using him on other properties they manage too.
Thank goodness I dont own a property. They suck as a management company.
I currently rent from this company for 9 months now. Our air conditioner quit on us last weekend. Genesis had an HVAC tech out the same day and they determined it couldnt be repaired. Genesis approved replacement promptly. They also brought out 2 portable ac units to tie us over for two days until the hvac people could come back out. I was very pleased with them going the extra mile to help us out and got the problem resolved quickly.
We were looking for a new management firm and thought this one would be it, because they have a good website and good reviews. But, after discussing by email twice and in person once, they would not change terms in their management contract, even though the terms were unclear and ambiguous between clauses. They blew us off as not be a good fit for your needs. And, this was after dealing with them for 2 weeks - they were slow about returning phone calls, making appointments and even responding to emails. We thought we were about to come to terms - only had one line we wanted to add to clarify one clause. They wasted our time when we could have spent those 2 weeks dealing with a company that wanted our business.Instead of using the standard 6 page Arizona Association of Realtors Contract, They have an 18 page management contract which, evidently, they are unwilling to change, and protects them very well, but doesnt protect the owners quite as well. Use this firm with caution - theyll listen to their lawyers and try to protect themselves - but must not really care about taking care of the owners or taking on new clients.
Horrible, I rent a property managed by them and they take years to fix stuff.Washer is still down, has been for almost a month. these people are horrible and you dont schedule anything until we request it over and over and over. We have contacted your office several times this past week and no one ever gets back to us. whoever is running this business should be fired.NO ONE HAS COME OUT TO FIX ANYTHING. ON DEC 4TH IT WILL BE THREE MONTHS SINCE I PUT MY REQUEST IN FOR SERVICE. I CONTACTED A PERSON FROM THE OFFICE AND ALL THEY SAID WAS THAT I WAS A LIAR, SO I SENT A SCREENSHOT OF THE REQUEST AND HE NEVER RESPONDED.
Don’t recommend for owners.
Top notch property managers that take care of both my house and my tenants. I couldnt recommend more.
Awful service as far as Im concerned. Ive been waiting quite sometime now to receive my security deposit back.. the company wont even take or return my calls when I try to inquire. If you want to get screwed out of money, this is the place I guess. Incredibly unprofessional.
Had no issues all year. James is pleasant, prompt, and understanding.
It’s been almost 2 months from move And still no security deposit or information on where it is.
I scheduled a property viewing a week in advance. James Gosses didnt have the professionalism to tell me that the property was already gone knowing I drove 3 hours to view it.
Disappointed
