Love this gym, the staff, and their mask policies. I have nothing but good things to say about the JCC (I’ve used the one here and when I lived in Denver), and anyone that says there are no signs about wearing masks is absolutely crazy (shocker, I know). You probably face about 30 masks required signs to get into the place, and they’re posted in the actual gymnasium and around the workout equipment as well. This is actually one big reason I love this place, their sanitary procedures are absolutely unbeatable in town. It’s posted on their website, on THIS google listing, like come on. Gosh your life must be BORING if you don’t have bigger problems. Your kid dying could be one of them. 🙄Reasonable prices considering the facilities, relatively new equipment. Love love love this gym.
I signed my child who is 3 years old for basketball. No where on their site did it say they have to wear a mask. If it did I wouldn’t have signed him up. We get there for the first day of practice and the athletic and aquatics director was very rude and sassy saying he’s not vaccinated so he has to wear a mask. Excuse me. A child? My kid was so excited to come for basketball and then they wouldn’t let him play because he wouldn’t wear a mask. How can they make 3 year olds play a sport and wear a mask? How can they expect that. It was overall a terrible experience and rude customer service. I attached a photo where it doesn’t show anywhere that it says they have to wear a mask.
The JCC provide services to the community. One of them is their adult disabled program. My family has been involved one way or another for the last 20 years. They are a shining light in this community.
Loving this place doesnt even come close to how inviting the facility is!! Great staff with excellent programs running for all ages of kids. Whether its to learn a new skill or just come for the interaction and gymnasiums, you will not leave disappointed. Cant say enough good things about it and there are even more awesome things on the way.
It brings me no pleasure to publish this. Splash park empty, pool empty, gym empty, basketball courts empty, no meetings, no lectures, no enlightenment, no reason, the cafe is a distant memory -- the whole facility is a ghost town and largely has been for the last 6 months. The only ones around are a skeleton crew of employees going through the motions, ostensibly in the name of safety with the continued covid theater, pointless protocols and mask madness. Example: make sure to register to use an empty gym with a total of two staff and zero other members. The J is withering on the vine in the name of scientism and safety and perhaps, its been a success: there are scarcely any members around to contract any microorganism of any kind. Where does it end?
The facility is decent but the childcare/ management is terrible
The J takes such excellent care of our son. There is no place else that I feel as comfortable with him being when he cant be with us! Thank you to all of the teachers, staff, and faculty that make this happen!
I have gone as a guest with my friend a few times and it has always been a comfortable and safe feeling environment. My daughter loves the playroom and teacher and I love getting my 2 hours to workout. Its pretty far from me but I am getting my own membership for the new year and plan on using it as often as possible it’s definitely worth it. There are tons of amenities and GREAT equipment. Always is SUPER clean too plus everyone has been so friendly and welcoming. I love my friend for introducing me to this place.
Right now I pay for day passes to take classes. I love that for 10.00 I can take multiple classes and workout in the gym all day. Best deal in town. My favorite class is Body Combat taught by Gary Ray. I have taken this class from others and Gary’s has the most energy and I get my best workout. He really enjoys it and it shows. He makes it fun while giving us a serious workout. He’s the best.
It has everything you need from a gym to work out to a pool to relax. It also has Jewish programming and great programs in general. There is a sculpture garden and interesting hanging art exhibitions. I recommend for people to at least go and check it out.
Our baby girl goes to daycare here, and we looooooove it. We tried a less expensive daycare that was fine, but we wanted a more upbeat environment that had more enrichment activities on a consistent basis. We even got a bit of a scholarship which made it not as much of a stretch to switch. The teachers in our room are kind, communicative, and really love the kids. They are good at following parent directions, but also are great at making observations and suggestions... a team effort! There is a low class ratio already, and then helping staff rotate in and out.The kids paint regularly, sing songs, go on buggy rides, have special gym time, and have done things like helping to plant seeds. So fun!We are so relieved to have a nurturing, enriching environment for our child!
So glad we joined the JCC. 1st, they have amazing babysitting so you can work out. It is a small additional fee ($4 an hr, $2 more per kid) and the childcare providers are the same ones from their high quality childcare programs, not just some unqualified person. They are great. This is the #1 reason why I joined. #2, they have a cafe located on site with affordable and delicious food. #3clean....this place is CLEAN. Military discount as well which makes this affordable. We live 15 min away so debated joining, but it is so worth it. Great hours, amazing staff, CLEAN!!! Nice programs, and just friendly people in general all seem to congregate here. So very happy to be a member here.
Great work out environment excellent cardio equipment huge lap pool hot tub and steam room. Its worth every penny for membership with free day care for members while you work out its perfect for parents. The staff is always welcoming and nice.
Excellent gym and staff. It is such a different atmosphere from other gyms I have visited. Cultural presentations and classes are also outstanding. A place to relax and to grow with a strong sense of community.
Pool is pretty much full during the summer, overbooked with programs. Showers could be kept cleaner. The showers often smell like sewage. I joined this gym because it was suppose to be the nicest one in town. The pool at uofa and Oro Valley aquatic center is much nicer and there is actually time you can swim there.
Beautiful Memorial for our friend ♡ The grounds are beautiful and the stage was set along with a nice video presentation. The food was very nicely done and the service pleasant too. Many lovely activities are held at the JCC.
It is hard to believe that the JCC went from being one of the most positive and influential summer camp programs available to children and adults with disabilities in the Tucson area and has declined in quality so drastically. My youngest brother was asked to not come to camp today because there was not enough staff to work with him today. Seriously reconsider their summer programming.
Swim class for toddlers not recommended. Actually lost skill there, very rushed, the opposite of experience at a real swim school.
This has been a wonderful discovery. Everything that we wanted in a health club. Wish we had discovered it sooner. Its a bit of a drive for us because we live in the southeast but worth every mile.
A great family community. Everyone is kind and friendly. Love getting the chance to play and workout with the set up they have.
Great facility and a lot to do inside!
My son is attending their summer program for the second year at JCC. It is exceptional. He loves it. When we had some concerns last year they were handled in a professional manner and to our satisfaction.
Nice staff. Great big, clean locker room. Quiet gym with plenty of machines.
Membership tried billing me for months after I left and was unresponsive with no care and wouldnt stop till I reported it to my bank. Never even responded.
We just joined the JCC. Our interest was originally in just the daycare services. But we were so happy to discover all that the JCC offers. From gardening classes, cooking, tons of exercise classes for all ages. Basketball, racket ball, swimming and many more options. They offer group sports, senior gatherings. Family events, art and other guest speakers. From authors to local experts on a variety of educational events. We also have our son in care here. where the teachers are amazing, do crafts and really work to develop each childs needs. The price to join JCC some feel is high but for what you get its more than fair. But still not everyone can afford the fees and for those who qualify they do offer sliding scale for low income. If you have been curious about JCC, take a tour and find out what your missing.
I found staff to be unresponsive and dismissive of of compaints pretaining to the use of sauna by people who neglegted showering prior to use. Most recently membership services billed me to renew plus monthly fee, eventhough I cancelled membership in January. Not even a sorry for the inconvenience when I called the error to their attention.
Great place for fitness lessons with very nice instructors ! The environment is clean and tidy ! Highly recommend !
Best summer camp ever, our grandson loves it 🙆♂️
Big gym, Vary nice pool and spa. Family-friendly.
There are many classes to choose from in beautiful surroundings with nice people.
Best job I ever had! - Great people - Great Staff
Community Center Youre not a part of this community unless youre rich and willing to pay their ridiculous gym fee of $72 a month. This is Tucson, I can barely make ends meet and this place wants $72 for a gym membership? I cant afford to get healthy.
Filthy early infant classrooms. My child was chewing on leftover food particles from other weeks for past few weeks I entered and grabbed him. I was disgusted and another time too he was chewing a book while the others were holding younger infants and couldnt care less. One time he fell real hard on back of head off a swing and they took it lightlyI probably wouldnt have known had I not stepped in abruptly. They dont monitor or care for older infants. They simply hold the younger babies to prevent them from crying. Also, try charged me a full month of fees for discontinuing their childcare. Contested fees and no response. unprofessional, and incompetently run center .
Very clean and new equipment. Gorgeous pool and wonderful staff.
