We were on vacation from Oregon, something was going on with our car. So we took it to them, they got us in, took a look at the car. They were honest and friendly. We had a mud-flap that had come part way off and was rubbing and they took it all the way off. They didnt have the tires we needed but told us where to go. They also didnt charge us for looking at the car. Honestly best service could have hoped for being so far away from home.

They were just wonderful. Answered my questions and very helpful.

My car was so loud and Im from out of town, they got me in right away fixed it in an hour for a good price and they physically shower me what was wrong from the underneath of the car and explained the issue to me in detail. Very friendly staff, would recommend!

Excellent service! The mechanic was extremely competent and the staff very professional and patient. They had amazingly quick turnaround! Their aim is to complete the work in the same day you bring in your vehicle. The price was reasonable, but the service, well that was worth a premium. Listen up folks! They don’t just do exhaust! I didn’t have any exhaust work done here at all both times I have had them work on my car. Each time I was very impressed and satisfied that I had made the right choice - money very well spent!

It was Christmas Eve around 9am. I called and asked it they could fix a minor muffler issue on my Jeep. They said bring it in and we will look at it. I did at 10am. Long story short, they completely fixed my issue by 4pm same day. I wasn’t expecting it to be done since I did not make any appointment. Great job guys. I’m very impressed.

Total scam. I went in there to have part of my exhaust pipe replaced and the muffler reattached but they told me they cant do that and would need to replace the entire exhaust system for 1300$.I called another local repair shop and they said would fix it for 150$.Not to mention they found a bunch of other problems in my exhaust system were it was leaking. He pointed to a pinhole in the pipe and said that people have killed themselves not having those fixed.They just want to steal your money dont go here.

Honest, fast and reliable service. Had an exhaust baffle replaced, was done quicker than quoted and 10 dollars cheaper than expected. I would recommend this shop to folks looking for an honest shop!! Highly satisfied, i will return here for future repairs.

This is one of Traverse Citys honest auto repair shops. These guys are top notch mechanics, not just part switchers. They take you out in the shop, point out what needs to be done and explain why before they start any work. They will tell you what you should repair immediately and what repairs can wait a while. Prices are always less than the auto dealer for comparable work. Theyll fix anything that bolts up under your vehicle in a very professional manner.

Highly recomended! I had an emergency. My water outlet hosing cracked causing my car to overheat. I was in Traverse City with two clients I was transporting. We were 2 1/2 hrs from home. I stop at Muffler Man without an appt. The gentleman looked at it right away for me, gave his diagnosis, and went right to work on it for me. Was done 1/2 under the time he quoted and cost $33 less than he quote. What a great way to be treated in an emergency situation miles fro home!

Nothing but honesty and good work here. They will tell you what can wait and why as well as what needs to be addressed now for your family’s safety. They have correctly repaired all vehicles I have asked them to work on both forgin and domestic. Offered me parts options based on price and let it be my call based on my needs. Very honest and open. No teenagers here just lots of good experience and great tools. I moved out of MI to TX for work and I still bring my vehicles to this shop because of the great work, honesty and trust I have with them.

Great group of people there don’t get me wrong but the $90 an hour is absolutely nuts. Was there to get one problem fixed and they found it nice to find all the other “problems” that my truck has. I won’t be going back

I dropped off and picked up both after hours. First time to this shop. They made it super easy and were good with communication. Now my truck is quiet again!

The owner was friendly, the mechanic that worked on my vehicle walked me through what was wrong with my van beforehand and showed me the problem areas, and the price quoted was dead-on and fair. In TC for vacation and power steering fails. They found out it was a software update that caused the problem. They couldnt fix it but gave me great advice on how to proceed and looked at it without charging. Would recommend this place to others.

Yes, the new manager told me the price was actually $100 less than it was quoted- Unfortunately the bill was $580 more than my husband was quoted over the phone - which the new manager response was We must have had a bad phone connection, static in the line -from the beginning we didnt get the same honest feel that everyone has loved from The Muffler Shop- That is what has brought people back over and over again- I get it cars are expensive to fix- Im not a person who is always looking for a deal but this experience has definitely made me think about where iIwill go the next time

Right when I walk in i get to talk to some grumpy old guy. I have a 2003 nissan altima se that was loud up front. 30 minutes later I got quoted at $680 to replace the flex pipes because they were leaking I go to another muffler shop in tc and they found the problem right away. O2 sensor bung broke off the catalytic converter and left a hole where it once was. $60 for a denso sensor and $15 for the bung. $60 labor. $135 later nice and quiet again. These people just want to take your money and dont know what theyre doing.

There’s a reason why their shop always appears to be empty. Plenty of other options in town.

They helped me get a stuck bolt off a manifold and didnt charge me so that was nice but Im not sure I would go here for work on my car. They are always empty which tells me something about their prices, work, or maybe both.
