We were in traverse for a wedding and our car started leaking coolant late friday afternoon. Precision Tune was one of the few places open on Saturday, so we had it taken there. David the manager/ master technician said he would look at it first thing. Despite having several local jobs, he made time to help out some tourists. It turned out the folk who did our coolant service earlier in the year had simply failed to tighten the clamp. David could have told us it was anything and overcharged us, but instead he was honest and got us back on the road very quickly for very little money. We are thankful for this place!

Went in to get my AC fixed. Recharged and didn’t put dye in to further diagnose. Wasn’t fixed. They said “most likely” not a leak. But not positive and didn’t do the work to ensure it. 2 hours later blowing warm air. I didn’t take it in to recharge and hope for the best. I took it in to get fixed. Now I’m back to square one having to get the same thing done including the dye to further diagnose some place else. Money pit business. Told me it would have cost 125 without the coupon they provided, but I paid 124. Tried to blame the work on my husband saying he told them to just recharge it, not true. He told them to recharge it cause they were sure it would fix it. But we wanted the problem fully resolved. Told me if it’s hot out the AC will only blow Luke warm air. Also false it was blowing cold air in the heat before it went out. Since when does an an only blow Luke warm air. SMH

I wanted to like this place. The guys were friendly and helpful however I went in with a brake squeal, asked for an inspection and left with a horribly loud grinding noise.Despite this, I decided to give PTAC 5 Stars because of the class they exhibited when presented with a potentially negative review. PTAC didnt cause the problem nor did I authorize them to correct it so I didnt have the right to lay blame.

Do not use this business. After making an appointment 2 weeks out, they had no record of it and refused the service they promised to make. Sloppy, unprofessional. They dont bother to wear masks either, so that tells you all you need to know about how much they care for their customer.Darryl, thank you for the response, but your manager said the earliest they could look at my car was Monday. This was on a Friday. Had it been the next day for service, I would have left it. And, the first person at the desk did have his mask on, but no, the second one with the attitude most certainly did not. I was told my appointment did not appear on the book because someone had left the company and screwed up.

Hey Daryl, since you never responded back on the email I sent on Sept 15th, I figured this may be the only way to reach out to you regarding my experience! You seemed concerned enough to respond so I want to make sure you understand the situation. May I add, I for one am completely over it and Tc Brake and Alignment had me all taken care of in about an hr! Bless them! Below is what I had originally responded, hope it sheds some light on the rating.Hey Daryl, I gave the awful rating because I called on Saturday @8:09am to get a front end alignment. The guy working said he wasnt sure if the tech could do it that day and would call me back in about a half hr. He called back at 9:09am said that they would be able to get me in and to have it there by 1:30. I was at work at the time so around 1 oclock my mother was bringing it to the shop and they said I didnt have an appointment. I called them back at 12:57 he then proceeded to tell me that he never said he would get me in, and that I was supposed to have called back in a half hour, and he would then tell me if I could get in. Just a totally run around experience and definitely wasnt worth the hassle of even trying.

The men at Precision Tune in Traverse City were professional and honest. A job they quoted me for 2 hours, only took them 1 hour to do. I had dropped my car off so I would never have known how long it took them. They called me and told me they were only charging me an hour labor, and the final cost would be even less than originally quoted. That was very pleasant surprise. The car drives great, thanks guys!

Absolutely phenomenal people working at this shop. I have no issues with any service provided and have been coming here for years.I just cant believe places like this are still open knowingly putting their employees in harms way only for the profits. Would there CEOs and Vice Presidents sitting in there writing up vehicles and getting in cars knowing that this may be a death sentence for them or one of their loved ones? Its absolutely despicable. They need to shut everything down for at least three weeks and put people before profits.Im not sure who is head of this corporation but is he willing to go to each one of his shops for the next three weeks and sit in place of one of the counter people or techs only for the next three weeks to prove its not an issue?Who is the CEO or owner of Precision Tune Auto Care across America?

This place was an absolute blessing to me and my fiancé! We are from the metro Detroit area and was visiting Up North/West Michigan for a weekend getaway. Just outside Traverse City, we noticed my tire had a sidewall bubble in it, which I know is dangerous. Of course this is at 4:55pm on a Saturday. We were an hour away from our cabin and three hours from home. Nobody could help us—except Precision Tune Auto Care. Not only did they set us up with a tire, they gave us a discount and contacted a place that would put it on for us (as they were closing for the weekend). They saved our trip!

I had my jeep towed here last thursday morning (9th) around 9am during a family vacation to have the alternator replaced and explained it was an emergency since we had to check out of our hotel friday morning, and to get back to GR by the evening.*(I also specified I wanted the oil+air filter changed and all fluids filled if need be in the paperwork)* When i dropped off the key and filled out their paperwork and service request sheet, the manager told me that would he would be able to have it done once they took a look at it, no problem. The initial estimate was 357 for the rebuilt alternator and 2.4 hours of labor @ 100/hr. I thought dang thats steep, but lets just see what happens. -It is important to note that in every conversation I had with someone from the shop, over the phone or in person, I made sure to reiterate the point of getting in touch with me when it was complete-I received a call friday morning shortly after 10am from him saying his man just started working on my jeep, but had already found another issue (the usual run around youd epect to get when not using your own mechanic). I thanked him for letting me know about the issue but promptly denied service to the new issue, instead shifted the focus on replacing the alternator only he told me they were open until 5pm and the jeep should be done around 4pm that day.A couple hours later I am finally able to arrange a cab to bring myself and our belongings to Precision so i could store them in the jeep, the guys didnt mind stopping to let me shift some things around (huge thanks to Shawna my cab driver for waiting for me). But before I did so, they had to give me their spiel about the issue they found and try to be pushy. I asked a few questions (because i didnt know much about what they were saying) to determine it would be fine to not have fixed and it was not an immediate emergency, yet again. They reluctantly complied with my request and told me that it would be done before 4pm that day. I shifted our belongings, and Shawna took me back to my family at the travelodge.My girlfriend and I walked with our baby in her stroller to the state park from the travelodge and enjoyed an hour or so.Shortly after 1 pm I called to check on the progress--Knowing that it doesnt take much to work on a few bolts and a couple wires (definitely shouldnt take more than 2 hours total)--to my surprise, the manager explained that the mechanic had my jeep apart but had left for lunch. Now I began to get frustrated, since it seemed that the mechanic wasted 3 hours of both of our time fiddly-diddling with an issue I specifically asked them not to mess with. And my jeep was sitting there taken apart, not being worked on. At this point we knew we were going to be forced to stay another night in TC; and I did not hear from the shop again.As 4pm approached and i still hadnt been contacted since 10am I began to worry. I called and called from shortly after 4 til almost 5 and could not get an answer. I grew upset and left one message simply stating that I was coming to get my jeep. Shortly after that I got a called from the manager telling me they had closed at 4 thats why no one was answering and proceeded tell me I would have to come get my car the next day. I calmly told him I was not doing that, and that I was waiting on a cab to bring me to the shop, he proceeded to try to argue with me over the phone about how we was not going to wait for me to come get my jeep and the validity of time it took to work on my jeep. His lack of taking responsibility and lack of customer service was brutally appalling, to say the least and I could not believe I was being treated this way as a customer who was already being overcharged.Fastforward 4 days later, and my jeep is back in the shop again with another issue!! Dont wanna say it seems fishy, but they did seem fishy.Pisspoor customer service and poor quality overall

Ken and Dave and company were exceptional. We were on vacation and had a cylinder start to misfire. They got us in and out in just 2 hours. Unfortunately the coil pack they replaced malfunctioned causing a second visit to the shop. Again they had us in and out in just 2 hours along with replacing a broken motor mount. The guys went above and beyond explaining things and showing what they were doing. Unfortunately the repairs were basically a band aid to get us home as their is a deeper issue with the problematic cylinder. We did get home safely. Now to get to the dealership for further diagnostics and repairs. Thanks again Ken and Dave. Youre the best!!!

Only place I go to get my oil changed. I went today and they could not get the oil pan bolt out. Would not take responsibility for over tightening. Place has not been the same since they changed owners. Predatory mechanics. Stay away.

Paid to put new belts on my Chevy Tracker. I could tell that the belt was not tightened correctly just by looking at it.brought it back.... Said it wasnt their problem. Took it to another mechanic to have it tighten properly. I wouldnt recommend these guys to anybody.

Car was overheating on a two day trip from out of town. Just wanted to get the kids out for a couple days. Precision Tune Auto Care was super busy but gave us some pointers on how to fix it ourselves. After replacing the Thermostat I still couldnt get it, so they had a guy come out to help me bleed the air out. Great guys who really cared about us total strangers. They definitely deserve your business.

Made a review on here the other day. About bad service. Was a complete misunderstanding, tech was busy and didnt get my phone number correct he did try calling me back. At my appointment all cleared up and very satisfied with the service. Brought me back and showed me some concerns with my tires. At the end of the day they made me feel like a valued customer. Also they blow other full synthetic prices in town out of the water for oil changes.

Took out my rack in the back of my 2020 trax on 12/12/2020 brought my own tires they just threw old tires back in knocking down the rack and continued to throw unwrapped tires on that rack it wasn’t damaged but lost a customer for heavens sake it’s a new car n you just throw dirty tires back in everyone else in town wraps tires ....update Ken did call and apologized apparently the new kid doesn’t understand bag tires.....

The previous owner was 5+ Stars easily. I went there to get an oil change after the ownership change and the new guy tried over selling and misleading me about what oil I should put in my vehicle. Im not an expert but I know enough. He then did it again when another customer came in for an oil change and I made sure the guy knew not to listen to the owner at all. The staff there is amazing, but I would avoid it because you never wanna go to a shop where you cant trust them to be honest with you.

An amazing job well done! I came in with an electrical issue and it was diagnosed and fixed within half an hour. Very honest gentleman who are willing to save you some money with a quick and efficient fix. My experience was hands down one of the best mechanic visits Ive had. Great costumer service and reliable work. I highly recommend Precision Tune Auto Care.

Ive been going there for close to 25-30 years because of my Mom. Theyre really the only people I know. But theyve been good to my Mom and me. Theyve never had a problem telling me my car doesnt need repairs. Theyve also done plenty of repairs. Ive heard horror stories (not sure which location). But Ive never been a witness to them.The ownership changed. I miss them. But I havent seen the customer service change. But theyve expanded hours and technology. Wi-Fi is a really nice addition.

Manager Ken has a nasty attitude, made my partner Phoenix cry because he feels entitled or something. Made multiple comments about how Phoenix was not a mechanic, that he should do the work himself, all while Phoenix was just trying to understand why its taken 3 days to take out and replace one part out of 3. I heard every word and Im disgusted with the way that this manager treats customers who just have questions and concerns.Update: wrote a cocky comment on the bill and when confronted about his attitude blamed the customer.

I was traveling from out of town during the winter, and I didnt know that snow/ice packed in the tire rims could cause the car to be imbalanced and shake. I showed up 10 min before they closed and a couple of them stayed late to clear the tires and drive it around to make sure it wasnt still vibrating. They were kind and part of the Traverse City charm. I was very grateful for their tips, including an upcoming storm with heavy snow. I would recommend them based on this experience!

Had a radiator replaced here and they used a fuel line to connect it to the transmission. Needless to say I have to replace it again. I also had them look at my door which wouldnt open. I found a part to my window under my wipers when I got home and the button to unlock the door is just gone. I would definitely avoid this place. My van was worse off after I brought to them and it was towed in. Buyer beware

Brought my Chevy Astro van to this place to get the heat fixed. It was working on and off, it was obviously electrical problem . Instead of taking apart the dash and fixing it where the problem was,,, they went under the hood I did a bunch other stuff and charge me almost $500!!! and here I am, in late February coldest time of the year!! still no heat!!. Not to mention the cooling fan and housing that they took apart under the hood they didn’t even put back together right, because I can always hear the fan rubbing and scraping gainst the parts under the hood which it never did before. I’ve brought it back to them three times and wasted a lot of time and money trying to find rides and missing work only for them to tell me that it was fine and nothing was wrong. The second time I brought it back, they said they where too busy to look at it. The third time I brought it back they finally had an expert look at it. Because I guess they didn’t have experience mechanics looking at it the first few times, That’s what they told me,, He said I need a new control panel in my dash and that the part would cost over $200 used and also they said they couldn’t even get the part. So $500 later and still no heat for me!! Would’ve been nice to known that all I needed was a control panel back in October. This place does not know what they’re doing. fixing the heat in an old van shouldn’t be that hard of a problem. especially electrical...

Go to Garfield Auto right next door, way better priced and way better workmanship. Precision Auto took advantage of my WIFE! They fixed one problem, then they took the vehicle apart to look at another problem and CAUSED A BIGGER PROBLEM told her it was $700 to fix it and then when my wife called me I asked her to bring it home and I would fix it, the mechanic said he could get it back together with a minimum $ fix to get it home and then the Manager told her they couldnt get it back together ( they could have Because I did ) so they were going to have to fix it. I had the vehicle towed home by Ward Eaton who did an excellent job and were fair price. Only took it to precision because it happened on Sunday on her way home from Church and they were the only ones open. They fixed the serpentine belt, and said the caliper was bad when it wasnt, so they could try and force her to get it fixed by them. I have had a wheel bearing, fuel pump, coolant line, and CV joint done at Garfield Auto...no issues a pleasure to work with and they are CURTIOUS AND FAIR TO MY WIFE!

They put on belts left them loose because my brand new belt would squeal, took it back wouldnt tighten down the belts because it wasnt warranty After Ken told me to bring it back in, mind you the mechanic got paid for the job and didnt finish it. Had to take my car to a different shop.🤦🤦 Smh!!

Do not take your car to this place they are under new management and they are just horrible now! we took our car here after an accident and they took 5 days to even look at it then when they finally looked at it they rolled down the driver side window which was clearly broken and they didnt even try to put the window back on its track or put plastic over it or even fix it at all they left the window open didnt even call to tell us about it but they would call and hound us about the $42 we were supposed to pay them for looking at it and they had no problem calling to tell us we needed to have it moved or they were going to have it towed! the it was sitting there with the window down while it was raining and snowing and we had very valuable electronics and other things not to mention paper work with our personal info on it in the car too! when we called to ask them why we werent informed when they couldnt roll the window up the manager lied and contradicted himself and kept saying oh well you owe me $42! at first we were told that they have to roll down a window in case the keys get locked in but then he kept insisting that it was rolled down when we had it brought in and it wasnt because we never roll that window down, because it comes off the track and it was cracked from coming off the track before so we had it up and weve had it up for months till they rolled it down now we cant get it rolled back up and its cracked all the way across the window and chunks of the window are gone from the bottom of the window! management refused to make it right and either fix the window they broke or forgive the bill because now we have to spend more money to fix it then we originally planned on having to spend and a tinted front window and track for a Durango is not cheap to fix we know because we got a quote in September through belle tire on what it would cost to fix it! also to have this manager yelling about us owing him money when hes now costed us more money to get our car fixed enough to sell is rediculas we have 2 young kids one of which is autistic and we live check to check and with Christmas coming up there is no extra money especially with having to pay for so much other stuff going on right now we have never had a business treat us this way they have turned into greedy liars at precision tune and if I could give them 0 stars I would! I dont recommend anyone to go there!

Came in for an oil change and they had me set an appointment for the next day. I arrived 10 minutes before my appointment window the next day, and it still took over an hour to get the oil changed. It wasnt because they were backed up either, my truck was up on the lift for 40 minutes to drain the oil, then it was sitting for another 20 minutes before they started to bring it out. No apology or discount was given for the ridiculously long time was given.

Super cool people. They dont bs anything and actually care about their customers. If they see something else thats an issue, they will let you know and even quote it in case youd like to get it fixed as well. The one who advertised Garfield Auto (if its still up by time anyone reads this) is actually the bestfriend of someone who works there, so clearly theres major bias and also against google policy to advertise. Please so your own research and even call if youre worried.Theyre also the only ones open on Sundays. So.

I have several times where I call and ask them they get me in with a serious issue and I have always been told come on in and we will get it in.
