I joined at the beginning of summer because I always wanted to learn Kung Fu and finally decided to commit to an exercise program. Training at Lions Pride Kung Fu is awesome! Sifu Jeremy is very knowledgeable in the art and provides clear understandable instruction. It seems like Im definitely learning authentic Kung Fu, Ive lost about 20lbs, and I feel great! Looking forward to continuing classes this fall.
I recommend anyone looking to learn Kung Fu. I have been studying with Sifu Jeremy over two years. Flexibility, strength, endurance, and mental focus have improved dramatically. Classes are challenging, sense of accomplishment after each class brings me back. Sifu Jeremy teaches in a very practical way. He truly loves Kung Fu, and wishes to teach anyone willing to learn. One on one instruction helps students work on improving skills for advancement to more challenging forms.I love the camaraderie of group training, I consider my classmates as Family, and everyone helps each other!
Great place for adult beginners who are interested in traditional martial arts (Kung Fu & Tai Chi). The instructors know their art, and are confident enough to be relaxed - you can ask questions and laugh a bit, without worrying that anybodys ego is involved. The attention to detail is really impressive, and the class sizes are perfect for receiving personal correction and instruction, without being under constant scrutiny. I also like how they let you get the gist of your form, and then gradually tweak all the technical details until its perfect. The cardio workout is better than anything I get at the gym, and I have a lot more fun. Ive wanted to learn kung fu my whole life, so Im really happy to have found such a great school in my area!
I had great time learning Kung Fu and Tai Chi here. I dont know where these 1 star reviews are coming from. I dont recognize any of these new names as my classmates. Its sad to think maybe some competitor is trying to smear the school by web trolling. Anybody who has actually attended classes knows how great the workout and training is here. Props ! And good luck. You are a great Sifu.
This is the place TO GO if you are looking to learn traditional Chinese kung fu. Taekwondo, Karate, etc schools are very abundant, but it is difficult to find great kung fu schools in the LA area. The classes are challenging and can push you to your limits, but there have been students off all ages who have benefited from training there regularly. Young children, women, older students, fitness enthusiasts, and even practitioners of other martial arts whove trained have seen improvements in their over all health and knowledge of self defense. As a student, you are encouraged and coached as you learn. It is a true challenge but traditional kung fu is not easy and if you stick to it and train persistently, your body and mind will be grateful.
JERRMY HECTOR i have seen your Kungfu you are not very good your skills are lacking then i was told you are not a Black Sash in NORTHERN or SOUTHERN not a real Shifu, there are much better Instuctors and schools So Cal .
Ive been learning Kung Fu from Sifu Jeremy for almost 8 years. Before i started kung fu, i was your typical fitness freak. I would always look for new ways to challenge myself. Ive tried all kinds of different workout programs such as Insanity, P90x, etc and I even ran a marathon. I thought i was physically fit. It wasnt until i decided to try out Kung Fu that i realized i was wrong. Kung Fu has definitely made me fitter.Sifu Jeremy is very knowledgeable in Kung Fu. You can tell that he genuinely loves the art. He always goes out to his Sifu, Grandmaster Raymond Wong, to learn more so that he can pass it on to us. He explains everything in a practical way so that it can be applied in a real situation. As for the students, everyone here is like a brother or sister to me. Were always looking out for each other.I encourage anyone who wants to try something different or wants an extra challenge to come try it out. You wont be disapointed.
I have been personally training at this school for almost 3 years and learning from Sifu Jeremy and they have become my family. Sifu Jeremy is very knowledgable and teaches various great styles. It is the best conditioning you can get in the south area of LA as far as strength and cardio, as well as self defense. Also working with weapons is a whole different ball game as far as martial arts. Sifu Jeremy also teaches various styles of Shaolin Kung Fu. Traditional Kung Fu is a not a widely used art and is not easy, but very different and challenging. This is TRUE traditional Kung Fu and Sifu continues to learn from authentic traditional Kung Fu grandmasters which he passes down to us continually. I continue to go and will continue to go to this school as long as it is around. Highly recommended school. Come try and you will walk out stronger for sure. The students make it fun to learn. Many of the senior students are inspiring and show a lot of strength, and knowledge. I love stances!
If youve always wanted to try kungfu, you should head over to this studio! Wow!!!Ive only been attending a few weeks, but Im absolutely addicted! I use to be a boot-camp fanatic, but I felt that I was missing something or needed something more. Kungfu has really given me an opportunity to test my stamina, increase my endurance level and work my core muscles. Oh, and Im actually using my brain muscles, too! (Lol!) -Yes, having to memorize and practice the kungfu moves isnt easy, but the sifu and his assistants do a fantastic job of breaking it down for us. Im also finding my concentration level and ability to focus is getting better each week. The studio atmosphere and energy is great and everyone is super friendly. Sifu Jeremy and his staff are wonderful! Im so lucky this place isnt too far from home.
