I really like this gym. Everyone is kind here and the mats are so clean you can eat off of them. Another thing that I like about this place is that it emphasizes self-defense more than tournament style jiujitsu. This gym has advanced people training here, but it is very beginner friendly at the same time. Highly recommended.

Both of my sons go to Rodrigo Gracie academy and I couldn’t be happier. They feel more confident and happy. He is a great role model and has the most patients with the kids. The studio is impeccably clean and that is very important to me. I have referred friends and intend to refer more.

I was introduced to Rodrigo Gracie Jujitsu from a friend of mine when I moved from Chicago 2 years ago and it was a life changing and best decision I have made in my life. The brotherhood and instruction that Master Rodrigo provides is unmatched. I was welcomed by everyone including Master Rodrigo and felt like I belonged to the brotherhood immediately. The training and technique learned from Master Rodrigo is second to none and he has personally worked with me to make me better. The group of brothers that train there are amazing as well they constantly are looking to make me better and have helped me tremendously. If anyone is looking to train Jujitsu you don’t have to look anywhere else. Rodrigo Gracie Jujitsu is the truly the best . It is my favorite nights of the week when I get to train !

One of it not the cleanest academies in the South Bay. The mats are swept and mopped everyday after the last class. Also it is spacious so that there is ample room to practice without bumping into others. The best aspect however is that the classes are taught by Rodrigo Gracie himself everyday. Look at his resume and you will see that the education you get here is direct from the source. Every student starting from the 3-4 year old kid classes, to the teens, and the adults are all getting first rate lessons on how to defend themselves, disciplines, and courage towards personal protection and just life in general. You have nothing to lose and all to gain. Hope to see you on the mats.

When you enroll at Rodrigo Gracie academy you enter a world that where you will not only learn how to practice Brazilian Ju Jitsu but get the benefit of self confidence, family, self respect, leadership bond, and ongoing training from one of the top black belt in the world Professor Rodrigo Gracie.I have been training with professor Rodrigo Gracie for past five years and I got my two boys training as well. I cant imagine myself not being part of this amazing family.

My elementary school aged daughter has been taking classes here for a little over 2 years. They are great in keeping the kids attention and making it a lot of fun. They emphasize anti bullying and self defense and being well behaved kids overall, which as a mom, I love. Kids are given guidance on how to de-escalate situations and get help from parents/teacher/other trusted adults, in addition to learning Jiu-jitsu. Each belt promotion test is usually accompanied by a report card filled out by the parents on things like eating healthy, good grades, being respectful and obedient to parents and teachers, and being a good sibling, so these things can also be reinforced at the school. Their schedule of classes is really flexible with classes for kids after school and Saturday morning. Sunday is the only day they historically werent open (pre pandemic). Because we can go to class any day we choose it really fits into our schedule conveniently.

I have really enjoyed my couple of years of training at Rodrigo Gracie Jiu-jitsu. The other students are a great community of people who are very willing to help you learn. What stands out to me the most in my time here is that 1) Rodrigo, as a competitor in multiple combat sport formats, brings with him world class and varied experiences. Some schools focus on sport Jiu-jitsu, others self-defense. Rodrigo knows it all and has put it into practice in world class competitions and can teach techniques from multiple angles. His personal experiences are woven in to help explain why the details matter so much, in what he is teaching. 2) Rodrigo teaches. This is NOT a school he has just lent his name to. He teaches all of the classes. He isn’t a surprise guest instructor that you may see a couple times a year. He is actively instructing every class. He knows his students and takes a personal interest in helping you progress.It will be hard to find a school with a better instructor, a better environment or a more constructive community to train with.

Both my daughters train here with Professor Rodrigo. It gives me peace of mind that they learn self-defense from one of the best in the world and that they are surrounded by a great group of students and parents. Theyve learned more than jiu-jutsu; theyve learned discipline and self-confidence. Im so happy that my friends introduced me to Rodrigo BJJ and Ive recommended the school to even more friends!

I have been training with Professor Rodrigo and his team for about three years now. It can be very intimidating and/or scary walking into a new BJJ/MMA gym as an outsider or even coming from a different gym. Professor Rodrigo and his team nixed that theory right away as they all welcomed me with open arms and treated me like a brother right from the start. The facility is remarkable and extremely clean. Cleanliness is something that is taken very seriously even pre-COVID as the mats are swept and mopped at least twice a day. Professor Rodrigo teaches every class and does a phenomenal job covering all aspects of true Gracie Jiu Jitsu. He goes over standup, takedowns, striking, and of course the ground game. His kids program is also top-notch and he teaches a bully response course which teaches kids how to de-escalate the situation and seek out adult intervention before using Jiu Jitsu as a last resort. There are many gyms in the area, but to have an experienced professional MMA fighter and a member of the Gracie family as the main instructor who is always available and takes the time to ensure the techniques are being learned properly, is something not to be taken for granted. He is very humble and his classes are not only engaging and fun, they have the highest standards of discipline as well. It’s cliché but very true in this instance, this IS the place to train in South Bay, California.

Great place to learn Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu from a true champion. Rodrigo Gracie is the only instructor in South Bay with real-world experience in the ring. Hes hands-on and and great with the kids. His Bully Prevention program is well thought out and truly helps kids develop confidence. His no- aggression approach to the program also encourages discipline. Great place for families to learn together.

Rodrigo Gracie is the primary instructor in all his classes. He is absolutely great with the kids! Hes disciplined yet the kids still manage to have fun. Hes taught my son to defend himself yet he stresses not to be the aggressor. Great guy!

In the year we have been visiting here, our family has become rather attached to Rodrigo and Fernanda Gracie. The lessons of responsibility, respect, and of course jiu jitsu have made a positive impression on our kids. The Gracies have taken the time to know the kids on a personal level, adjust to their personalities, and always showed the utmost of patience and tenderness with all of the students.Our kids have always enjoyed coming, two, three, or even more times per week. Ive been very impressed with their school and we look forward to watching our kids grow with them in the years to come.

My daughter loves Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu with Master Rodrigo, Ms. Fernanda and the rest of the instructors. What initially surprised me was how hands-on Master Rodrigo was/is with classes. He instructs every class and is terrific with the kids. He, and the other instructors, are great with the children of all ages groups.I say it initially surprised me because I now watch how he conducts his classes (for almost two years now) and see how methodical his “Bully Prevention” curriculum is. It boosts the confidence of students and they learn by having fun.The flexibility of his class schedule is also a bonus for busy parents as well. Obviously I recommend Rodrigo Gracie Jiu-Jitsu.
