As a trans woman who had just set out on the journey to transition in early 2021, I needed to find a safe and welcoming space for various cosmetic procedures, including laser hair removal. So, my husband did some research for me… It was important for us that the place have licensed, medical professionals, be reasonably priced, offer a wide range of services, and, of course, that it also be open to working with trans clients. Skin Works Medical Spa in Torrance checked all of those boxes, and many more. I’ve been making trips there from Long Beach at least once a month since February for a variety of procedures: Laser Hair Removal (LHR); Dysport injections; Microneedling; Refynestylane Kysse lip-filler; and Restylane Defyne under-eye filler. I’ve spent thousands of dollars on these procedures and have been 100% satisfied with the results! Dr. Matt Tahisini (“Dr. T”) is an artist who demands absolute perfection of himself and has always delivered it (at least for me). And Lucy, who has done all of my LHR is an angel. And really, every single person who works there is super friendly, welcoming, and professional. I am so grateful that we found Skin Works to help me along on my journey, and I very enthusiastically recommend them for anyone who is considering having some work done. TWO big thumbs up—you will not be disappointed, and, like me, you’ll want to keep going back for more!

I love, love, love this place! The office is beautiful, calming and very clean. The equipment was very modern, and everyone was so knowledgeable that I felt confident that I would be taken care of. The front desk staff was really friendly and informative. Dr. T was very friendly and a true professional. He has such a calm demeanor and kept me at ease throughout the entire process, since I was fairly nervous. He had very gentle hands and even used cold air compression to make the entire thing pain free. I love my results and I will definitely go back for more Botox!

I came to skin works to get lip fillers back in November. I was nervous of how the process would work. After the procedure i was in awe of my results! Dr t and the staff are absolutely amazing!! To start off, this review is long overdue. My cousin and I first came in about 2 months ago and we absolutely loved it. Dr. T and his staff are the absolute best! Since we have been going to this facility we have felt nothing but welcomed every single time (especially from Mimi). The staff is informative, professional, and sweet. The office environment is comfortable, clean, and relaxing. I’m currently receiving N-Lite laser treatments for my acne and I have already seen an overall improvement with one treatment. Also, they have plenty of free parking in front of the facility. I look forward to trying other services such as their IV drips and laser hair removal. Im a holistic health educator and always looking for innovative ways to retain youthful looking skin. I had heard about ultrasound to reduce wrinkles and was interested. A client referred me to Dr T at Skin Works.The office is nice and clean. State-of-the-art. Friendly staff. Easy, free parking in shopping center.The free consult answered my questions and I went back the following week for a High Intensity Ultrasound treatment on my face and jaw line. For anyone worried about it being painful, numbing cream is used and the technician is very considerate continually asking about your comfort level. They even give you a cute headband to hold back your hair.There was really no downtime and Dr T said to look for improvement in lip lines and wrinkles over the next 3 months.*Its been about a month and I can see the improvement in my upper lip and neck. :) I would say if youre looking for a holistic way to look younger, definitely check out ultrasound at this place.

Skinworks is a fantastic med-spa! Dr. T and his staff are so professional and welcoming, always going above and beyond to make sure patients feel safe and taken care of. I received a series of Kybella Injections to reduced fat in my chin and neck area and a series of RF skin tightening treatments to firm up the skin afterward. The treatments spanned over a few months and I ended up with very good results! I have received many other treatments here (facials, Dysport, fillers, vitamin treatments & injections) over the years and have been delighted with my results!

So I was shopping at Whole Foods and noticed Skin Works in the shopping center. I went to Dr T for Botox for forehead and Juvedrem for my lips.I’m super happy with the results I had minimal bruising. He did my lips to where they actually folded up a little bit on the top lip which no other doctor was ever able to achieve with filler before.He gave me exactly what I wanted:) his staff is wonderful very friendly and knowledgeable. Dr. T is Very talented and wonderful at what he does he’s an artist. I will not go to anyone else now that I found him. I highly recommend Skin Works!!!

A very clean office. I was greeted by a nice staff (I dont remember her name ). A very short wait and then she walked me for free skin analysis to photo room. She gave me some recommendations and suggestions based on the analysis and shortly after that I went to the procedure room for my fillers. Dr. T was so warm and nice and he gave me my fillers and some post procedures recommendations. Skin works medical spa is by far the best med spa in South bay. Very professional and polite. I found this place on Yelp and am on my 3rd treatment for laser hair removal! I was pleasantly surprised with how fast I was able to get an appointment and how welcoming and informative the staff was. The doctor was very nice and the procedure wasnt painful at all. I am very excited to finish my treatment just in time for summer! Highly recommended!

Let me start off by saying that I am not new to microdermabrasions, it is something that I used to get very often and my skin has never looked like this afterwards.I received a brightening facial from Skin Works Medical Spa yesterday that consisted of a Microdermabrasion & very light chemical peel (that was left on my skin for no more than 3 minutes). And when I got home I noticed what looked like scratches on my face, and indents that resemble a light chemical burn. During the application of the chemical peel, the esthetician stated that it would feel stronger than a level 0-1 chemical peel since I just got a microdermabrasion (as expected). As she was applying she asked where I felt the stinging the most and I stated that I felt it most on my forehead and left cheek. Didnt think anything of it until I saw the scratches on my face and put it all together & said to myself my skin was broken on the left side, thats why it was so intense in that specific area... upon communicating with my esthetician on Yelp, she stated that fine lines are normal. I had doubts but as of this moment I am pretty confident that these arent fine lines and that these are scratches.Very recently, (pre covid) I received a similar service from a popular esthetician and also past nurse, who did a microdermabrasion on my skin and also a chemical peel afterwards. That chemical peel was left on my skin for about 10-15 minutes and I did not have any negative reaction to that treatment, and my skin was left flawless.I went back on 7/13/20 at estheticians request, for her to get an in person look at my skin. I came in respectfully and addressed my concerns with her again in person, and let her know that I spoke with two other medical professionals & estheticians and they both said that my skin is not supposed to look like this & that it looks like the esthetician maybe was a bit heavy handed and used too much pressure when it came to the microdermabrasion. As far as the random scarring/scabbing on my face, they said that that looks like bruising.But heres the thing, I get it, mistakes happen - I went in expecting someone to take accountability and own their mistakes but that did not happen. Dr. T came in to take a look at my skin for about 10 seconds and looked me dead in my face to tell me nothing is wrong, in the most nonchalant, callous manner - thats when I lost it. Crying out of frustration because I felt completely disregarded. I immediately told him, you know what I just want to get a refund & Ill be out of here -- but thats when things took a turn.He informed me that a refund is fine, they can do that -- but only if I sign a contract mainly stating that I cant speak about this ever again, leave negative reviews, and come be serviced by them ever again (like I was planning to anyways).After this interaction, and vocalizing my frustration, the doctor left the room and the esthetician was left trying to console me but at that point I just wanted to leave and get my refund. Another man came in the room and tried to talk with me and we had about a 20 minute conversation only to agree to disagree. He offered a free facial - that I declined because of my trust issues with this medical spa at this point. Claiming that it would be beneficial and help calm the current damage on my face.Proceed with caution when considering services here. If they pay people to be silent: what incentive might they offer to obtain these 5 star, perfect, stellar reviews? A lot of them may have been well earned but that may not be the case for 100% of the reviews you see (and DONT) see on here.Skin Works Spa - I told you I would like to think this contract over, but if it isnt evident by now, you will not pay me to be silent. I will speak my truth, which is worth way more than getting my $110 back.PS -- According to them, this is a side effect and that microdermabrasions are noninvasive -- but go to yelp to see the pictures, does this look noninvasive to you?

I booked for a complimentary consultation and everything exceeded my expectations.Skin Works is what I look for in a local business. Things are customized, well addressed, and well thought. I was received by friendly staff and everything was according to the schedule. Asia spent 20 mins to evaluate my skin with this device that I forget its name, and showed me visuals of my facial skin strengths and weaknesses. Quite educating and informing. Turned out that I was wasting money on wrong products that I thought are good for my skin. She also sent me an email later with all the details and recommendations.I had to wait for 5 to 8 minutes before I see Dr. T, and what a great guy he is. Supportive, patient, and old fashioned yet very knowledgeable and skillful. I got my first Botox here and I have never seen a medical professional with his level of precision and care. Great guy to know! I also had dermal fillers (Juvederm) since I lost a bit of a volume around my cheeks. I can see the difference right away, but I am told I have to wait for at least a week. I will post pictures when in 10 days here.I heard about this place from a friend, and I am quite happy I finally went in. I am booked for a VI Peel next week and I want to restart my 40 yo skin (according to the test results), since I am just 36! New journey for me and I am quite excited. I like going to skin works to get my weekly vitamin b12 injections. It really gives me the energy boost that I need from feeling drained due to long crazy hours of work and college on top of that. The injections are fairly priced and I can walk in right before I head towards the gym thats located in the same plaza. Jessica and the rest of the staff are very friendly and make my visits very pleasant. Two thumbs up!

I cannot get enough of Skin Works, their amazing services, and their stellar staff! I have been a patient for about 8 months and have had nothing short of a phenomenal experience. Dr. T has great bedside manner, and is hilarious :). I frequent Skin Works for my B12 injections, and received great results with the VI Peel on my face. Im looking forward to receiving laser hair removal treatment soon. I highly recommend this establishment!

Skin Works is the only place I will ever go to for laser! I have had consultations before for laser hair removal at other places but never went ahead and did the treatment. I was referred by a friend and the place is great. All the staff are super friendly. I met with the nurse practitioner and she reviewed everything with me. I felt really comfortable there and purchased a package. I have done 2 treatments and already see a big difference.

I love my Botox!Dr. T did such an amazing job! Everyone is so kind at Skin Works, Ive been to other places before but my experience here was great. My mother and I had a good time, 5 stars not only because my forehead looks fantastic from the Botox but because I was offered chocolate post procedure. Will absolutely come back when I need more Botox. I would like to try a facial next time also

Skin Works Med rocks!! Stevie at the front desk is very welcoming and answered all my questions. She promptly checked me in and took me back for my appointment. Monique is so patient and really listened to what I told her about the Botox injections. She was very gentle and hit all the places I told her. She is very sweet and entertaining to talk to during the process. I would definitely recommend Skin Works to others as I had an all around great experience!

Being a man of mature age, I have been seeing more new wrinkles on my face. So, 18 months ago I decided to do something I thought I’d never do, I decided to get some work done on my face, but I knew I didn’t want anything that required surgery.So, I went to Skin Works where I was able to talk to Dr. Tahsini and express all my wishes and my concerns. Dr. T recommended a simple course of Botox to see how I felt about the results. The result was simply amazing, removing the small lines in my face just makes me look better and healthier. I have gone back to Skin Works several times over the past 18 months with the same great results and have even recommended it to a couple of my closest male friends.

Skinworks has saved my face many times.Minimizing pores, canceling out sun damage, tightening, plumping, sculpting, etc. they do it ALL! ask for specials they might be running that month if you’re on a budget. The entire staff is very comforting and they really take the time to thoroughly explain procedures. Thanks SKINWORKS!

A buddy of mine referred me to skin works for vitamin therapy. I called to book an appointment, the receptionist Jessica was very nice and was able to schedule me for the very next day which was my only day off. I went in the next day and they placed me in a room right away and Dr Tahsini came in the room and introduced himself as he started the IV vitamin drip. I was in and out in about half an hour. By the time I was checking out I felt like I knew the staff very well. Great experience thats exactly how customer service should be!

I am picky and strict when it comes to anything that has to do anything with my health and appearance. Zero compromise. I am selfish that way. I want the best for myself, and that makes me a hard one to please. So when I read all the good reviews on Google and Yelp I decided to get my monthly facial at Skin Works Med Spa, and just like all other times I tried to focus on the empty half. Well that lasted maybe 7-8 minutes? The staff at Skin Works Medical Spa and Dr. Tahsini himself put everyone in such a great mood that you can hardly find the opportunity to complain. I was pampered, I laughed, and I was given honest compliments and skin advice and both times it made my day. what I loved about this place is that they are not pushy and salesy. You realize its a medical facility with all the caring and high standards before being a business unit, and that is very important to me, so it gave me confidence and peace of mind, and put me in a good mood during both visits. They have done a VISIA skin analysis for free on the first session, and I found out that I have been wasting money on my Night Cream for the last 2 years (well I shouldve known!). Tip: Ask them for the complimentary VISIA analysis. Its a MUST. I am now booked for a Hair Transplant consultation meeting with Dr. Tahsini, and one thing I am sure is that I will be in good hands and wont waste money on the stuff I do not need.P.S, Huge Shout-out to the Front Desk Ladies! ! My lips look amazing!! I have always wanted to get filler in my lips but have been scared. I am so happy I found Skin Works. I had a consultation with Monique (who is amazing!) and she recommended Juvederm. I was nervous but she put a numbing cream on my lips and I didnt feel a thing.
