Wanted car to get looked at for an oil leak. They told me I had to get the engine steam cleaned over the phone!!! I don’t know why mechanics say things like that even before looking at a car. Look at the car first, if not identifiable then tell me it needs to be steam cleaned! Update: it was the drain plug. Steam cleaning would have had me down $50 to $75, the inability to drive for a couple weeks, and a couple hours trying to drop and pick up a car. Is that really how you want to treat your customers or prospective customers? When mechanics tell me I need an engine diagnosis fee for example, when sometimes just hearing the car you can rule that out-I just wonder whether any there is any empathy or care for the time and money of the customer. Response: I’d suggest anyone to verify costs and find out how difficult it’s to make an Appt with a detailer (at least at the present moment). Nevertheless, just know that if you have an oil leak, no matter from where, you’ll need to get the engine steam cleaned before they will see it.

I came in without a reservation for an oil change. They offered me a very fair price. They checked the rest of my vehicle, rotated my tires at no charge. They found a couple of brake light bulbs had burned out. I had them replaced also fair price. Overall the shop is run professionally and I would highly recommend.

Gene and the crew at K&M are great. I was introduced to them because the company I work for brings our trucks there for service. I started bringing my personal vehicles. I just bought a used car, they looked it over found repairs that were needed. One of them was an unsafe break line repair that was previously done. Gene called me to confirm repairs and pricing before any work was done. And they are extremely fast. I was on a tight time frame and the work was done in the time frame I needed. I would highly recommend K&M for tires and all your car service needs.

Got my wheels balanced properly and thoroughly inspected my car while he was at it. Turns out my car has a few other problems besides out of balance wheels. Gene took me around the car and physically showed/explained to me everything that needed to be replaced. Not only that he gave me a list of the parts on the invoice and didnt pressure me into getting more work done. These guys dont cut corners, they treat your car like its their own and do the job right. I highly recommend bringing your car here. Huge thank you to Gene and AJ for taking care of me today.

Had a appointment to take my car there for a motor vehicle inspection was told had to leave it there then pick it up when its done told them I had no one to help me so said let me see if I can . Call back and when I call to let them know I had no one and asked if i could stay till its done that is when as i think is was a young man he HANGED UP ON NOT VERY NICE !!!!!With that Ill never go there ever .went to the motor vehicle station on Tr 70 NO LINES was in & out in 15 minutes. No charge. !!!

This shop has the most efficient and competent guys that are out there. I stopped in for a tire repair and while they were taking care of my tire, they spotted a problem with my front brakes. They alerted me to the problem and diagnosed it and gave me an estimate on the repairs. The estimate was quite reasonable and they finished the brake repairs with time to spare. I also asked for an oil change and there was a slight mix up and they forgot the oil change. I brought this to there attention and they immediately put my truck back on the lift and did the oil change. They refused to let me pay for the oil change. They are complete professionals.I give them 5 stars!!!!!!!

Bring your car here for repairs and it will be repaired promptly, correct the first time, and the price will be fair. They will not try and sell you a laundry list of items like the other shops do. Ken has made auto repair a less stressful experience. However, I suggest that you bring your own coffee, theirs is terrible!

These guys are the real deal! Weve worked with Ken and his mechanics for many years from when they were in Jackson, and we do miss them being there, but thankfully they are in Toms River, which is where I work, so I can still bring my cars to them for service! My oil change was quick and much cheaper than most places charge for synthetic oil! The staff is professional and instead of trying to push other services on me like a dealership, they simply recommended when I should consider new tires and informed me about different tire specials going on for the next few months. I showed up 28 minutes late for my oil change appointment and Gene was very friendly and didnt give me a hard time about it. (My phone broke that morning and I wasnt used to NJ roads).Oil change was quick, cheap, and honest. Gene offered a very low-pressure upsell to put on new wipers and swap the cabin air filter, both of which were beginning to be an issue for me, so I took him up on it. They checked what kind of oil I was using and they didnt try to pretend I needed anything more expensive.Clean waiting room with no strong oil or gas smell, decently comfortable chairs, hot drinks available, I met a great guy named Matt who was also waiting on car to be finished. Gene wished me a Merry Christmas when we settled up. All around great experience.Granted, Ive only been there once, and it seemed like a slower day for them, but if I lived around here they would have my business from now on. Thanks again guys.

In my opinion, being a NJ certified mechanic in my younger years I have a lot of experience working for a Motor Pool involving school buses, state official cars, NJ Trains, building racing cars of my own ETC. I know the difference between right and wrong. I took my Ford truck to this establishment on 09/07 for a set of 4 new tires that were to be installed that day, however they could not get the balancing correct. My truck was brought in running smooth with no issues it has less than 39,000 miles and its a 2012! When I picked it up it was shaking so bad that I was unable to drive it on the GSP for even 2 exits.Made plans to bring the truck back in, Today is 10/10 and I still have a truck that shakes so violently after it being brought back 4-5 times! The person at the desk lead me to believe he was the owner but he isnt..... ive paid more money for 4 tires costing more than a dealership. Balancing machine isnt working either, told me to take truck and come back another time! Am I supposed to drive an unsafe vehicle? My point is he made no attempt to take my truck elsewhere to actually fix it while his machine was broken. My truck is how I make a living for myself, it is an everyday necessity. To all future customers who may want to visit this business make sure you receive an actual finished price because when you pick up your vehicle you may notice some unexpected add ons in regard to price settled on. My kindness was taken for ignorance.I guess its a good thing they have parties that this can be reported to.**Update as of 07/25 this has not been fixed. I do not use my truck, it sits in the driveway because of the pandemic and his lack of ability to change four simple tires! Personnel told me to take my truck elsewhere for work since they were not knowledgeable on fixing it and once someone else touches it the problem is out of their hands/not their responsibility. Wasnt that very nice of him to tell me to take it elsewhere.;) After I paid in full he said maybe I can look at the truck tomorrow. I went there 8 times with no resolution. There is no way Goodyear will get away with wrecking my truck and treating me like a piece of garbage from day 1. I have been going there for some time now for little minor repairs and oil changes. The owner Ken is great and nice. I went in there for oil change and tire rotate and when they finished up Gene the desk person can to me and told me I needed $1400 dollars worth of work and I was blown away at price and what needed to be done. Gene said I needed a steering rack and I took it to another mechanic and they said there was nothing wrong with my steering rack so I’m not sure why he said I needed a steering rack when I don’t need one. And also he comes off pushy and aggressive about what you need to be done to your vehicle. Also my buddy had a bad experience with them also

A few months ago I found K&M haphazardly as I was having a tire issue and pulled into this local gas station. This turned into being the best thing! They were instantly helpful and a few weeks later I went back and got a set of 4 new tires and an alignment. They priced the exact tires I wanted within the budget I gave them! Fast forward just 2 months and I have had done front/back brakes, a full tune up, filter changes and various other call outs they made from inspecting the car and safety stand points. The whole staff is so nice, professional, price competitive, and when they call out things they find along the way, never do I feel its to price gauge but that they are providing the best service and are concerned.
