I am so appreciative to have been referred to Niel’s Auto Service. FINALLY- someone I can trust! When I first took my car to him he told me what I needed but said I could wait until I needed my oil change. After my previous experience with mechanics, I couldn’t believe someone wasn’t telling/selling me something that I didn’t need. I waited until I needed my oil changed and got the repairs done. I’m so happy with their service and fair prices and happily recommend them.

Auto mechanics get a bad rap. And it’s justified. Having owned cars for 35 years and dealing with shady mechanics and dealerships, Niel has restored my faith in this business. He is fair and honest to a fault. Anyone who says different is plain wrong. I will never take my car to anyone else ever again. He’s the best around.

Pathetic service and Dishonest!!I changed battery with them with a 24 month warranty and in less than 15 months it drained out 3 times.Fraudulent ! In changing batteries. I wasted by $130 on them!Avoid!!

Was accomodating and nice. However, while on a road trip, they fixed the wrong wheel bearing. We left that night so couldnt bring it back. He tried saying theres a warranty. Well, that only works for what they worked on, so had to pay to get other side down. Tried telling me they probably both needed it. So it was a total waste if money.

I go to Neils Auto because I know I will get an efficient and above all honest service. I just had my 50,000 mile service for my VW Jetta. Very reasonable, and done in good time. I really like this little company and can recommend Neil hundred percent.

I went to Niels about three weeks ago to have my new truck inspected. I showed up the first day after calling and scheduling an appointment but somewhere along the line there must have been a mix up. He told me to come back tomorrow instead to have it checked out.The next day his mechanics gave a brief lookover on it and told me it needed a drag link and new steering linkage. I had been planning on selling the truck beforehand and I listed it for sale with the reassurance of his diagnosis. I posted the truck for sale at a generous price because it needed a little work and couple weeks later a buyer came to test drive it. He was happy with the truck and willing to fix it up but he wanted to have a mechanic inspect it for himself. He suggested to take it to “a mechanic down the road,” which was none other than Niel’s automotive!We drove back to the shop to have it inspected so the buyer could have the same confidence in the truck as I had but when we arrived Niel just took a look at me and laughed. He said he didn’t want to inspect a truck he had already taken a look at. After an uncomfortable 30-45 minute wait he reluctantly put the truck back on the rack for the buyer’s sake.This time when his mechanics were through looking at my truck he claimed my truck had frame damage, it needed a whole new front end, and the brakes were about to go out. He made me out to be a liar and gave my buyer the impression that my clean title truck had been in an unreported accident! I was utterly humiliated and on the verge of tears.The buyer however, was a soldier in the Navy and believed what I said about having been to Niel’s before and said he’d buy my truck whether or not the frame was damaged. We drove down to a body shop that specializes in frame correction and once they took a quick look around they said my truck is fine! I didn’t know what to think anymore! I just let the buyer pick a price and take the truck. I had been wanting to get a dirtbike for weeks and I didn’t care anymore.The next day I got a text from the buyer saying the suspension is actually fine and it just needed a little front end work with the drag link and some bushings. My experience at Niel’s was utterly humiliating and I’m out a couple thousand dollars that I could have had if I hadn’t taken my truck to here.

Cant say enough about how awesome Neil and his team are. Ive always been told to never go to a mechanic or buy a car without a man, but when I moved to California without knowing anyone here, I didnt have a choice. I bought a pre-owned car privately and took it in to Neil for a check up, oil change, and battery/blown fuses(fault of a roadside company), at different times and was always worried what issues may be hiding. Each time they performed the work I needed with a thorough exam, replaced fluids, filled air, and charged me fair and surprisingly low prices. He even personally dropped me off and picked me up from my office down the street so I didnt have to uber. More importantly, they walked me through everything they did, and what kind of preventative care I should take when it comes up, and never ever tried to sell me anything I didnt need. A huge relief. Neil is a great guy, who just believes that honesty and fairness builds trust and long lasting customers, and hes right, those can be scarce commodities these days so it makes him stand out. I will never take my car anywhere else.
