Went here to rent a van to pick up a new couch from Nebraska Furniture Mart a few weeks ago, instead of paying the $70+ for their delivery as we live right down the street from NFM. Getting the van was trouble free enough, though their methodology is a little unorthodox. They dont have a sheet for you to record all damage on the vehicle prior to taking possession of it, nor did they have stickers on all known damage. Their method is that you take pictures of the damage with your phone, as it will have a time-stamp and prove the damage was not your fault.My issue is that they charged me $10 for sweeping out the back. I picked up a brand new piece of furniture. There was nothing to sweep out, unless it existed prior to my taking possession of the van. I only put I think it was 9 miles on it, so they didnt profit much, and I suspect they threw in the cleaning charge to extract more money from me. The facility was also a dump. Ill never go back to this place. Lesson learned, I will only visit an actual U-Haul center for renting vehicles from now on. The image of this place lived up to my experience with it. I once saw another 1 star rating of this place on here, but it seems to have been removed. Interesting.
First we had to wait a bit before being helped. This location is part of a repair shop so I think theyre priority is getting and helping customers of their shop rather than Uhaul customers. We were told someone would be right with us. When it looked like we might be helped the phone rang and that became their priority. Then another employee came by, then another. So we were there for about 10 minutes as the only people there. Once we got helped we were told to bring the truck back before 2 because of another renter. Problem is we scheduled to have it for 4 hours. We got there at just after 10 but then the whole process took about another 15-20 minutes so thatd mean were going to have the truck until after 2. They need to handle that better on their end and not tell us it needs to be back before our alloted time of use.
Rented a van for a month. The staff was professional and very helpful and charged me fairly. Ill definitely rent here again.
This place, there are no words, they put insurance on your truck rental even if you dont ask, if they look at you and believe you will damage thier truck. They will add it without even telling you. This happened twice, i had to argue the first time and demand i dont need insurance on it. She kept saying, dont damage my truck. Would never do business with them again.
They cancelled my moving truck last minute. I had reserved it a month in advance! Called me and said sorry go to another location we dont have a truck for you. Charging .89 cents a mile they wouldnt even reduce the trip rate or daily charge. WAY TO SCREW ME OVER ON THE DAY I HAVE TO MOVE.
U-Haul should stop this deceptive marketing. They place their name in front of all neighborhood locations but when you make a reservation by calling the number of the neighborhood store, it goes to a central call center and then they make a reservation for pickup elsewhere. Customer service reps know this deceptive practice and are rude and unhelpful when you question them about the reservation. Skip this one totally.
