My son cut his sons hair too short and messed it up. So I was looking for a barber shop then I seen this barbershop. Stop to see if they can fix his hair. Everyone was so nice and pleasant my grandson is a firecracker so he doesnt sit long very well. There was this young man that called me back to cut his hair and I went to sit my grandson up and he wouldnt stay. So there was this older man very nice that was cutting somebody elses hair beside us. He noticed I was having a hard time with my grandson so he just jumped in with a lollipop. So nice and very pleasant. And another thing almost brought tears to my eyes my grandson dropped his lollipop on his wrap around smock this nice gentleman got the lollipop and rinse it off and gave it back to him. I really enjoyed my visit there until I got ready to pay couldnt understand why I have to pay $15 to have my sons hair trimmed. Seems so unfair!.

Just moved into the area and this was my first time at the shop. The two gentleman that were working were very friendly and professional. Very welcoming atmosphere. I got a great cut for a very reasonable price. I will definitely be back!

I have been going here for years, and have always gotten good cuts and good service, with conversation about FSU football and so on. Today, I went in to discover no masks, no distancing - barbers 2 from customer after customer...and Im at risk. I was also asked to sit in a chair where Id be looking at Trump propaganda stickers almost obscuring the mirror during my haircut. They are entitled to their political views, of course, but if they want to impose them on their customers, Im out. After ten years, Ill find a barber shop that actually respects their clients.

I am new to Tallahassee and finding a good barber who is personal, listens, and pays attention to detail is something important for me. My experience at this barber shop was disappointing. The barber was impersonal and very rushed through my haircut. It felt like he just wanted to get me out of there as quickly as possible. He didnt pay attention to details such as the straightness of neckline and forehead line, I had to ask him to go back and straighten them. He did not ask if the haircut was to my satisfaction or give me the opportunity to check the cut or give me a second mirror to check the back. I had to check the hair lines in the mirror I could see from his chair while having the feeling of being rushed out of the chair. The barber also charged me more than the listed price. The sign says $13 for haircut and $4 for beard trim. He charged me $20 because he cleaned the beard line on my neck and face with a bic razor, which at every place I have been to is included in the beard trim cost and is usually done with a straight razor. Apparently here, it is a $3 hidden cost at this barber shop to give a proper beard trim.

Ive been getting my hair cut at Lake Ella Barbershop for many years now and have always had a great experience. Ive been to several barbers over the years and they all offer a great hair cut! My favorite thing about this place is that the other patrons have also been going to Lake Ella Barbershop for years. I see people bringing in their kids and telling them I got my hair cut here when I was your age. Its a great family environment that you dont see much these days.

If you have ever gone to a barbershop and ask for the haircut you want and turn to look in the mirror to see that what you have is not what you wanted, that does not happen here. I have always had a problem with barbers cutting my hair too short or leaving a straight line of hair on my forehead. Every time I have come here is have left satisfied with the haircut I asked for. The barbers here all have great personality so you will never be just waiting to get your cut over with, there is always someone to talk with.

Our teenager is consistently pleased with his hair after a cut by Ben or Brielle since 2012. Friendly atmosphere and excellent value.

I have been going here for the past couple of years and have always had a great experience. All the staff are kind as well as entertaining. This shop services walk-ins happily. There is seldom a wait, and if there is it is not very long.I would highly recommend this venue to anyone who is looking for a great place to get a quality haircut. Every haircut I have gotten there over the past couple years I have been very satisfied with. I have nothing but good things to say about this fine establishment. I will continue to be a patron here as long as I reside in the Tallahassee area.

I am all the time reading about barber shops that offer free haircuts to unemployed individuals that cant afford a haircut for a job interview. Well I visited this establishment I explain to them I have a job interview at 11 a.m. tomorrow morning all I have to my name is $8 that would have been a $5 discount also posted $13 haircut I then explained all I need is a 5 guide Clippers on the side and it inch trim on the top I do not need warm shave neck Once Upon getting the job I would be happy to return and they can over charge me for the next haircut I was declined and sent on my way it just would have been really nice if I could have written a different review with a opposite result sometimes it would help if people of this community could help other people of this community more often especially when were only talking a $5 difference and there was only one person having their hair cut at the time so in light of the subject they could have had 8 more dollars instead of 0 more dollars and help someone be gainfully employed in the local work force. In reply to your response Matt the Bible or the man that came out and told me that you would not allow that was a very large man with a flat top haircut wearing glasses you may have been the person that was cutting the only customer that was in the barber shop at the time I am 100% positive I have the right place

Ive lived in CT, IN, and FL so Ive tried a number of barber shops. However, this barber shop was my favorite because of how professional and accommodating everyone was. Tim always cut my hair and knew exactly how to cut it although I always had very specific requests about my undercut. Matt and Ben were both always fun to talk to as well.Unfortunately I had to move out of Tallahassee but Im going to miss this place.

Barber Ben is awesome! We have been bringing our 2yo son here since he was 10 months old. Ben is patient and good with the kids, letting them touch the clippers and hold the comb really eases their mind and anxiety. By the 3rd haircut there were no more tears or worries. Now, he is excited when its time to visit Barber Ben, and sits there like a big boy! If you have small ones, I highly recommend Barber Ben!

Matt has been cutting my hair for decades.

Matt is the only guy who cuts my hair in Tallahassee. He works quickly but Ive yet to leave with a bad haircut from this place. Hes got clippers, thinning sheers, and most importantly, hes a master with the straight razor. If you have thick side-burns or bushy facial hair like me youll definitely develop a quick appreciation for what this guy does. I had my hair cut by another guy and he also did a great job. They only charge $12 for a haircut.The location is nice as well. Its right in-front of Lake Ella, so its a scenic location.

The folks that work here are always kind, courteous and accommodating. Ive been going here for years, and with the exception of one of the four barbers, they have been there the entire time. They have occasional temp (?) Barbers that rotate through the fourth position. I dont ever have any problems, and if for some reason they do miss a little spot, theyre kind enough to hit it for you, if you need to come back by within a day or two. The price is about average, but the good, old fashioned, barber style makes it a nice place to get your haircut. Matt is awesome and the other barbers are always accomodating too. Highly recommended!

Took my son here and gave very specific instructions on how he wanted his hair cut. Was totally ignored and his hair was completely butchered. I stopped the barber (reluctant to even call him that) mid way saying that it was not was we discussed and his response was “ I didn’t hear you”, followed by “he needed it anyway”. Well, thank you for advising me on what my kid needs and completely ignoring what he wants. Never EVER had a worse haircut on my son. Just horrible.

I can accredit all my wins to Ben. I can honestly say his profound thinking lead me to achieve. Winning a NJCAA championship and receiving the key to city from the mayor are all because of what Ben taught me in his chair. Great guy great speeches.

So Im a little sensitive about about my side bangs. Over the years they have been a hit or a miss at different hair salons, but my last haircut at great clips was a major miss. Literally the lady gave me jagged edges and chucky bangs, and made it even worse when I asked her to fix it. I left after her second attempt because I was afraid she would even make it more worse. I was anxious to go to any hair salon and let anyone touch my hair after that experience, but after months, my hair needed a good trim. I saw that The Barber Shop had a lot of good reviews, and I went into their shop one morning. I have to say, I am downright impressed by Brielles work. She is knowledgeable about peoples hair and can fix you up with a clean cut. She gave me beautiful and soft bangs to be confident in, and properly cut my hair to shape my face. She also gave me tips to maintain my hair from dry ends. All in all, I was happy with my visit to The Barber Shop. I will definitely be coming back for my next trim! (And if Brielle is reading this, I want to say thank you again! Youre the best!)

Ill go nowhere else. After today, this is where I get my hair cut exclusively. Ive been coming here for a few years now - but with the occasional dalliance with super cuts. No more. Why? Because for the first time ever, I got a real shave - you know the one... Yeah, the one that Capone (DeNiro) gets at the beginning of The Untouchables. Call me exuberant if you will - but getting The Captain treatment is... How do you say... Good.

Went in to get a regular haircut. Tim was the barber. Haircut was fine, but when he shaved my neck area, he must of had a dull razor because I had red welts on my neck. Took weeks to heal from it.
