Put the wrong type of hose on transmission. Used a fuel injection hose versus a transmission type. So leaked all transmission fluid out. Then wanted me to wait a week for the warranty work. Anyones thoughts on this type of service? They use to do good work in the past. I have taken multiple vehicles there in the past were good.

This shop is awesome they have helped me a bunch over the past few years with everything my car needs to be running it’s best.

After replacing my clutch Bitterlings returned my car with broken motor and transmission mounts and then gave me an estimate to fix what they broke. Yes, you read that right.I called for a price estimate to replace my clutch. It was reasonable and they have good reviews, so I dropped my car off there. They replaced it and the bill ended up being over $200 more than the original estimate. Okay, now its costing me more than the highest estimate I had previously gotten. Thats frustrating.Far more frustrating was that Bitterlings returned my car with a sagging rattling engine saying it now had either broken engine mounts and/or broken transmission mount. They stated they didn’t know if it was like that when they got it. I assured them it was not. How are you as a professional mechanic not going to notice if an engine is sagging and rattling when you get it?? The technician stated that if they did break it, sometimes things break on older cars, oh well. They then handed me an estimate to fix what they broke!!!I brought it to another mechanic who was shocked that Bitterlings would do this. That mechanic suggested I ask Bitterlings to meet me halfway and just charge me for labor and I pay for the parts myself. I’m screwed because I need my car. So, I called Bitterlings and suggested that as a solution. They fought with me. I said just meet me halfway and fix what you broke. I finally spoke with the owner who finally agreed. She stressed that they were only doing this as a favor to “help me out”. Charging me to fix what you broke is not “helping” me.I asked the owner specifically which parts I needed to order. Parts arrive. I call Bitterlings to make sure that I had the correct parts. I was told I would need more parts to fix everything they broke. I only found this out because I followed up with them, I ordered more parts and waited another week for them to arrive and get another appointment because Bitterlings is booked full, sorry! Then they forgot to book the new appointment.After taking yet another day off work and finding a ride I showed up only to be asked why I was there. While waiting I ask for another written estimate with just the labor. It’s now estimated to cost EVEN MORE than the original quote (which included labor and parts). The owner also stated, “I forgot to add you into our system. Can you come back later the following week?” No. Tired of this treatment and waste of my time and money I am going to another mechanic who is hopefully more trustworthy and ethical than this business.

I made an appt to diagnose what I thought was a wheel bearing. They diagnosed which wheel and I asked when they could repair it. He said right now and quoted me $400. I figured it would be closer to $500 with tax and whatever extras popped up. 2 hours or so later it was done. My bill $397 and change WOW. Very friendly and professional they earned a new customer today. I recommend you give them a try.

I would never recommend Bitterlings to anyone after the service I had! They are not professional and do not give a clear picture of work required.I DROVE my car into Bitterlings, approved $500 worth of work, then got 2 more calls about an additional $200, then $150 worth of work needed. $850 total. When I was told Id be able to pick my car up, I got another call that a part had FALLEN OFF my engine and it is NO LONGER RUNNING, requiring an additional $1050 worth of work to get it running again, a total of $1900.The car was older and almost at 100k miles so the estimated necessary work total had exceeded the value of the car. They still REQUIRED THAT I PAID the $850, even though this work did nothing to fix the vehicle because it NOW WONT START.I also, went by the shop on a Saturday (not realizing they were closed for the entire weekend) to find my car parked on their lot with the DOORS UNLOCKED and my personal belongings inside. I was lucky nothing was stolen because they have signs all over their office saying they are not responsible for stolen property - so had anything been stolen, it would have been my responsibility, not theirs for leaving my vehicle unlocked on their unfenced, not secure property while they were closed with no one on site for 63 hours.----I am upset with the service here because I feel like I was taken advantage of and price gouged instead of hearing from an experienced mechanic about the extent of the work needed to repair my car.I was never given a full picture of the damage my car had sustained, instead I was told small estimates at separate times totaling to a lot of money that never actually fixed the car. Keep in mind, this car was running when I brought it to them so I basically paid for them to break my car and ask for even more money to fix that.I got multiple calls and estimates throughout the day while they were working on my car: 1st call- I was told I was lucky that I only needed $500 worth of work, 2nd call - thermometer needed to be replaced $200, 3rd call - small repair for oil leak $150. After approving all of this work and the 3rd time I had talked to them, they mentioned that the timing chain was stretched but I was told that it DIDNT NEED TO BE FIXED and I could pick my car up by the end of the day.As the end of the day approached, I called to ask about picking up my car. She called back to tell me that while THE MECHANIC WAS DRIVING MY CAR OUT FOR PICKUP, THE TIMING CHAIN HAD FALLEN OFF AND NOW THE CAR WILL NOT START! To fix this they estimated an additional $1050 of work ($1,900 total). I said no to the work because I wanted to do some research, as now the total of all the work already approved and required, exceeded the value of the vehicle.Moneeba called me multiple times the day after my car broke asking for a decision on doing the additional work but when I asked for the estimates in writing she could not provide anything in writing. Moneeba said THEY DONT PROVIDE ESTIMATES IN WRITING therefore, I must write it down myself (which is actually against the law in Washington to not provide written estimates for work over $100). She said she would try to put an invoice together with the work I had approved but it took 2 days to finally get the repairs they had done in writing. Still no written estimate for the work required to get the car running again.When I came in to speak to Moneeba and discuss options, she was defensive and demanding that they had done nothing wrong. The only thing that she did to right the wrongs of her shop (and I doubt she would have had I not requested it) was due to the fact that I could no longer drive my car off the property - was she didnt charge me to store my car on the lot past the week mark while I tried to sell it.Id also like to point out that the old owner, Don, no longer owns this auto shop and most of these reviews are for the business he ran. Bitterlings is not accredited by the BBB.Save yourself the hassle and stress I went through and go somewhere else!

I thought I was fixing my car but I only made it worse. I was getting frustrated trying to figure out what was wrong and just went to Bitterlings. They told me what was wrong with it (I was totally off) and told me my options. The honesty blew me away. 10/10 would take my other car here. 10/10 would recommend.

There is no where else I even bother calling first for anything I need diagnosed and/or repaired. Simply the nicest guys, honest and solid work. If they dont have it, they know who will and their knowledge is second to no one else.

My sister took her car in to the Ford dealership and they said her car needed 1800.00 worth of repairs. Bitterlings looked at uh t and said she only needed one repair and it cost 400.00 and the car worked great!! Honest mechanic!!

Oh my gosh! Look no further! This is an old fashioned, experienced, honest garage. Im so happy a friend of mine told me about it. I live in Bremerton and will only use this garage for repairs, servicing and the like. I highly recommend it. And - they will call an uber for you to get you to and from their location - an added convenience which I really appreciate!!

Ive been bringing cars here for well over 10 years. Very honest and reasonably priced mechanics. Ive even had the manager figure out a wiring/fuse problem very cheaply when another shop had quoted me over 2,000. I wont say what they charged me because it really was too low to fairly mention.

Theyre very truthful and will tell you upfront whats wrong with your vehicle when they figure it out. Almost all work is done in very timely manner. Fair prices for the work they do.

Just got my dodge ram picked up from there and they did an excellent job!! My old mechanic closed shop, so I needed a new one. This is the best repair shop I have ever been to. I remember the first time I went there two years ago. Very honest and trustworthy, do not do unnecessary things. Their customers matter to them and they know them by name! I will continue going here as long as I live in the area. I do not think they are much more expensive than other places. Oil changes are usually around 40 dollars if you have an actual mechanic do it rather than the kids at Jiffy Lube.

I think this shop is great. Ive been coming to them for 5 years. Ive had oil changes, brakes, and recommended maintenance for my Lexus. I think theyre professional, friendly, trustworthy, and competitively priced. Its one less thing to worry about. Its hard for me to understand how this place could get a bad review.

Theyve served our family for decades. My only complaint is that the wait time can be very long. I came in for a simple brake diagnostic and they wanted me to leave it from Friday to Monday. I mentioned this to the counter guy and he said he would take it to at least diagnosed it so I really appreciated that. I end up going to another shop down the street since I needed my car over the weekend, but Im happy they were at least willing to help me out. I still will come here but maybe not when I need some immediate service. Hope they expand their garage

My grandparents have been coming to Bitterlings since my mom and Auntie were younger and they have good quality work, they dont take too much of your time to finish things. If you take in your old battery youll get a new one. The people are friendly which make the experience all the better. The overall experiences Ive had since Ive been going is good, it gets a little spendy sometimes but you get what you pay for, especially when it comes to vehicles.

I took my car here based on the reviews I read on Yelp and that was a terrible mistake. This place is by far the WORST service I have ever recieved from an automotive repair shop. I brought my car in for rough idling, they told me it was probably the EGR valve. They called later that day telling me that it wasnt that, that my car just needed a tune up and it was fine. I went to pick the car up the next day and paid them $300 for the tune up. I asked about the 10% labor discount through Yelp and they applied the discount and then told me I needed a fuel filter so that ate up my discount. I drove off thinking they had fixed the problem, I didnt even make it a block down the street and my car began running terrible. I brought it straight back to them and they told me it was running fine for them, to leave for a day so they could test drive it. I returned the next day to pick up my car because they couldnt figure out what was wrong with it! Not only did they not fix it but I picked it up and my key wouldnt turn in the ignition! I continued to have this problem over the weekend and called them Monday when they opened back up and told them I had been having trouble with my car since I picked it up from them and they said to bring it in the next to look at it. I brought it by the next day and not only did they not look at it, they told me it was my fault my key was worn down and to take it to a lock smith. Its funny my key wasnt worn down before I brought it to them and I had no issues prior to leaving my vehicle there! A total waste of money and time these people are a complete rip off and leave your car in worse condition than it was before bringing it to them. Please do yourself a favor and go somewhere else! I regret ever bringing my car here, I thought it would be a good place based on the reviews but I can tell you that is completely FALSE! If I could give ZERO stars I would!

Absolutley terrible service. Highly DO NOT recommend going to this place. The guy lied to me on the phone to get my service! This place doesnt even work on engines and he told me to get my vehicle towed there just to give me a call telling me there is nothing he can do and that I owe money for some test they ran that I never approved! DO NOT GIVE YOUR BUSINESS TO BITTERLINGS. KEEP LOOKING ELSEWHERE!

I left my car with these people over night. Not only did I tell them exactly what the problem was and what to replace I paid them well more than enough money for parts and labor. Because I work ten hour days I wasn’t able to get the car until the next morning. When I got my car I had money, electronics and colognes all missing from my car everything was rummaged through including the trunk. And when I questioned them about it they said “sometimes we leave cars unlocked in the parking lot... but we’re always around...” I’m sorry but I trusted you guys with my car and you allowed it to get robbed. Weather it was an employee or someone on the street you were careless with something I spend a lot of money on... I’ll never be here again
