One of the most irresponsible management Ive ever seen. I put my membership on hold in May, and they still charged me for June and July. I went in personally to fill the form to put it on hold. Ive left voicemails for the person responsible for putting memberships on hold in June and called 3 times but no response. Havent got any response yet and the front desk says we dont know if we reimburse the money. Better hire someone who is more responsible and knows how to do their job, 2 months and they havent had the time to put my membership on hold. Pathetic

I walked in and payed my fees and a new membership, then went to play basketball. I wasnt playing with a mask on, but when they asked me too I put it on I did so. As I was leaving they said they are banning me untill the 21st. So they charged my card and then banned me the same day.

Really nice facility. Plenty of exercise options. Pool is nice and clean. Can get a little to warm though. Added benefit of being able to go to any of the other Ys in the area

I like going here. One reason is they have a separate space just for women to workout which I love. Membership is affordable compared to other gyms. Parking downtown on the street is a huge pain but just found out they have a parking garage which is a reduced price for members. Ive never had a problem at this gym the staff is wonderful and very helpful . Everyone is very nice. This gym has alot of programs and classes to offer. This location isnt modern or style up to date which I dont mind at all. Everything works and is a good place to be. Im conformable going there and working out.

Tried to get in touch with account management over the phone for 5 hours about an account autopay issue. The front desk was on point, but account management did not answer their phone nor did they return my call. Thumbs Down.

There has been an ongoing rampant issue of sexual harassment for years. I mentioned this issue last week to front desk employee, Dale and he said, youre not that attractive so I dont know why... When I told him that was an offensive comment and not funny, he brushed it off saying it was a joke, looked me up and down and said, well I actually find you really attractive. I have reported this to the individual in charge of front desk staff Carrie and the district Vice President Cheryl Pusztai. Carrie has been extremely disrespectful in defending Dales behavior. They have refused to have Dale write an apology and have said I can come in and talk to him but thats it. This is a potentially violent individual and I am not comfortable speaking with him. I am now unable to use this facility out of fear of this man. YMCA claims social responsibility and that we belong. This couldnt be further from the truth. Downtown YMCA has shown that they condone the sexual harassment of women from members AND staff.

Just called to get a BUDDY pass for Zumba and SCOTT is very rude. So rude that I am dropping my membership where I have been a member for over 2 years. Thanks Scott you just ran a good client away. Learn some customer service skills. I have never experienced this type of attitude at any other site..

Okay, so this is difficult to say because I love the Y and the other three local YMCAs are great - but this place is terrible. Actually, terrible doesn’t begin to describe it. It’s RUN DOWN. There’s chipped paint, cracks in walls, stains on carpets, missing floor and wall tiles, broken mirrors with tape on them, etc. While women for some reason get their own room, men are forced down to the basement with little Air Conditioning and no towels to wipe down the equipment. To compound that issue, hand sanitizer isn’t available anywhere. Free weights are chaos, with nothing ever organized.Employees rarely even acknowledge you, the guy at the front desk refuses to take his eyes off the soccer game on his personal laptop. The Fitness facility on the third floor has little rhyme or reason with equipment randomly placed throughout the area. Entertainment is nowhere to be found but there is plenty of empty space with exposed outlets (eyesores) to preoccupy yourself with while you get your cardio on. Honestly, this place is embarrassing and the traffic (or lack therof) reinforces this review. I didn’t complain about the lack of parking, because while it does indeed suck to pay for parking to enjoy a membership you have also paid for - it’s the only downside that should be expected given it’s location.TL;DR: If you love the YMCA you will hate this place. If you use the downtown Y occasionally because you enjoy the other locations I get it, but if you’re looking for a home location for convenience there are far better options downtown that are also far cheaper.

Its a Y, so what do you expect?LA Fitness had a store, and many programs that I didnt need. I am still a member there, but there are no LA Fitness gyms in central NY. I only use the Y for weight-bearing exercise, I get my cardio each morning before breakfast. My workouts must be short, due to metred parking, there is a parking garage for the Y, but if I can get a space on the street, Ill always take it. I wont use the basketball court, or the pool, just some of the weight machines. My goal is to stay toned, not build muscle. Saturday morning, and the gym was not crowded, making it better than some of the more expensive gyms. Downside? The floor plan can be confusing for a first-time member.

This gym is rarely ever crowded, I cannot speak for the basketball courts or the pool though. They are very pricey, but they have wayyyyy more to offer than Planet Fitless ! Large Locker Room, Fresh Towels, Large indoor Pool, Boxing Ring, Speed bag, Heavy free weights, basket ball court, racket ball court, and the top floor has even more free weights, and an AWESOME cable machine - similar to Bow flex, AND your basic cardio and leg machines. My only complaint is the price for membership, the terrible schedule that they are open till which on weekdays they close at 9 PM, weekends at 6PM, the lockers are old and need a serious replacement, and the water fountain and rugs in the locker room are disgusting! But if your serious about working out and you need a real gym to do it in, then this is NOT the best choice...but its certainly TOP 5 for the area.

The facility at OCC is great but the parking is a huge problem - Dont join unless you want to only be able to use the facility on weekends - Anytime there is an event at the SRC arena, all of the parking places reserved for the Y members are full and no one enforces the reserved spots.
