I needed my gas cap checked due to it triggering my check engine light. I had my original appointment scheduled, but needed a faster appointment due to also needing an inspection. They got me in 2 days earlier and also gave me a loaner car. It was fast, quick, and easy! Everyone was extremely nice and helpful. Thank you!
Jim spent over an hour with me showing me all the new features of my Subaru Forester Touring. It’s beautiful and I’m very pleased! As I threw out the old sales slip for my 2014 Forester Premium I noticed the final price difference was only about $1000 after trade in, etc. That’s amazing considering all the safety features and luxury that the 2021 Touring has. We recently moved to the area and this was my first experience with the Service Department at Romano. The on-line appointment booking was very easy to use and provided clear information. On the day of my appointment, check in was an easy process and was performed by very friendly staff and was very similar to my previous dealership. I felt right at home! Prior to my arrival, they had checked for recalls on my Forester and offered to perform that work while the vehicle was with them for the day. I was delighted that they could do this extra work and that I wouldn’t have to make an additional appointment for it. In addition, they placed my new registration sticker onto my windshield for me. The pick up process was as easy as the drop off, and again, the staff was friendly and pleasant. On the drive home, I found a brand new oil filter on the floor of the passengers side of the car-it was still in the packaging. I called the Service Department to let them know I discovered this part and asked if I could bring the filter and vehicle back in the morning and asked if they would check to see if the oil change had indeed been performed. They assured me that, yes, they would be more than happy to check as they absolutely “want the work to be right”. Upon returning the next morning, I was greeted by name and they brought the vehicle right in to verify that the oil had indeed been changed. My check in person from the day before sought me out to assure me that they were looking into it. They were able to verify that the filter was indeed simply misplaced, and that the technician had gotten a different filter when he couldn’t locate it. I was impressed by the professionalism I witnessed and the thoroughness they exhibited upon my return visit to both verify the work, and get to the bottom of how this filter ended up on the floor of my car. This was an impressive first visit and I am glad I chose Romano Subaru upon relocating here. Thank you!
My recent visit was for oil change and inspection...Oil change:After oil change Ive experienced burning oil fumes from appeaantly spilled oil...not very pleasant.Inspection:They found ONE tire that failed (after approx 33k miles) and said I would have to purchase 4 tires with explanation that it may cause problems with something to do with drive train (cant remember exact terminology) which makes no sense that Subaru would design a vehicle with so tight tolerances that maybe 1/32 could make such a difference.All this is making me consider a different dealership/vehicle for my future vehicle which will be soon.John

I purchased a used Subaru Impreza in NJ years ago, but always had it serviced locally at Romano. My experiences were always excellent. When we decided to buy a brand new Impreza, Romano was our obvious choice and we couldnt be more pleased. I recommend Romano to everyone and will continue to do so.
In the process of purchasing a car I had the opportunity to communicate with a number of different people within the dealership from the service department to the body shop to the general manager along with salesman and the finance all were very helpful. I went to this dealership specifically because I had been there in the past with two of my friends who also had purchased Vehicles there and I know they were treated very well and thats the way I want to be treated like a important person when I walk in the door or a valued customer. And I felt like I was treated that.
For the most part, I am satisfied with the service at Romano Subaru. I took the car in for a 30,000 mile service. It was expensive, but I want to keep my car in good shape. I had/have an issue with my horn honking twice sometimes when I start the car. It was not resolved. 🤷♀️

This was truly an easy experience. I had no appointment but knew what vehicle I was interested in. I walked and was greeted right away. Marc Stephenson & Nael Abraham were excellent help with purchasing my Crosstrek. The features on the premium plus package was way more than I had thought I wanted, however after driving this vehicle for a week I have learned to use the features and actually enjoy the lane assist. Last night I used the automatic high beam dimmer… so once the vehicle ‘sees’ lights the high beams automatically dim.
We just leased our first car ever from here and Romano is the only place we will go for a car from now on! We shopped and this is by far the best place in Syracuse. I prefer Romano Subaru because their customer service is beyond reproach and communication & timeliness of service(s) are unsurpassed in comparison to other Subaru dealer(s) in the area.Greeting me warmly and processing my car at 7:30 (for a 7:40 appointment…who does THAT these days?!?!?!) only took 13 minutes from arrival to departure. I can think of no better way to start a day than to be able to check this huge task off of my list. To say it was easy getting out of their facility and back on the road is an enormous understatement.Zach was extremely helpful and described the repairs & costs to me with care and consideration. I arranged a loaner vehicle because of the lengthy list of repairs I needed done. On the whole, it couldn’t have been an easier, nicer experience from start to finish.Romano takes the worry out of car repair service and they understand their customers are all busy and have other facets of our lives. The level at which they conduct their business is far superior to the Subaru dealer that is 4 minutes from my home and office and I will continue to recommend Romano Subaru as the “Go-To” dealership and hope everyone will follow suit.

I am delighted that my car’s air conditioning was fixed.Here are some comparisons to other times the tires have been changed, purchased, and wheels aligned.When purchasing new tires:Paperwork describing the tires and/or warranty were received.The removed tires were placed in plastic bags to keep me and my car from getting dirty.When having an alignment performed in the past, I’ve received a printout describing the initial measurements of misalignment, and the final, corrected alignments.

Don’t leave your valuables in the car!I realize this is a no-brainer. I have always removed my sunglasses just to eliminate possibility. But the one time I had to take the car back in and forgot…gone!After 5-6 years of excellent service.Now I’m so hesitant to go back and looking at alternatives.

A couple months ago I went into Romano to look into my options for trading my Legacy in for a Crosstrek. I spoke with Joe Barry, he was very informative and laid all my options out for me. When I settled on buying new, I went in and he walked me through the process of building my Crosstrek and getting it ordered. He made sure to keep me updated while we were waiting for Subaru to fulfill my order.When my car came in, Nael went above and beyond to get me the best possible interest rate he could. My car was in for a recall. I arrived on time, and was promptly shown the service desk where I signed papers for a loaner car.There was some confusion using the nav system, so Kassidy retrieved my phone cord from my vehicle and I used Car Play.My car was done in about 3 hours. Everyone was very nice and my only comment is that my click was never reset and I was wondering where the time had gone!
Everyone I worked with and spoke to was extremely nice and ready to listen to the problems I was experiencing with my car. They were able to begin working on my car sooner than expected and they had the parts on hand to immediately replace what was needed. They diagnosed exactly what the problem was right away.

Not great. Its not clear that youre supposed to pull your car into the bay, theres no sign. I parked and walked inside but theres no employee to talk to; luckily another *customer* explained the process to me. I made the appointment online; I was scolded when I arrived and told that I should have made the appointment for earlier in the day. How on earth would I know that? Fix your website so that a customer who indicates the problem is their check engine light gets a message saying make an appointment for 1st thing in the morning! I got no information about my car until the end of the day, when I called to check and was told you were keeping it overnight. Just not an impressive experience.

For $115 an hour you would expect for the work to be done right and professionally but after doing an inspection they left my 2021 sticker on making me go back a different day to get it switched. Very inconvenient and shows a lack of care even at such high pay rates

I brought my car in for 12,000. Mile checkup. I was told that my brakes would be needed to be cleaned. When I went to pay my bill I noticed that I wasnt charged for the cleaning. I asked what happened. I was told that my brakes didnt need to be cleaned. I was impressed that they they did not charge me for something that I didnt need to have done. Sadly Im not sure that is how most shops operate. I really appreciated that I wasnt charged for something I didnt need. Thank you Romano Subaru

Brought Outback in for recall service on passenger air bag. We never use a dealer for regular sevice work and use a personal mechanic for anything that we can’t do ourselves. I was happy that they just made the repair, gave me my car back and didn’t try to sell me any other unsolicted sevices.

The best experience I have ever had buying a car
Dropped the car off on a Tuesday night for a Wednesday 8:00am service for power loss, android auto connection drops, and traction control engaging even when turned off. Didnt get it back until Monday. Main issue- Car barely has power below 3000 RPM. Informed them it happens frequently and to test drive it until they feel the power loss as it is guaranteed to do so up a hill, etc. Subaru calls stating they could not replicate the issue and I would probably need to test drive it with a tech. I only have 1 vehicle and was provided no Rental despite that being 100% covered by warranty. Had to ask girlfriend to use her vehicle and take more time off work to test drive the car. These guys are labeled professionals and should not need the consumer to drive it..but okay Im fine with this because I can usually get it to happen. Get to subaru and speak with tech and we take it for a spin. Drive car for maybe 15 miles unable to replicate it. Tell Subaru to keep it and update radio, which was never completed even after the android auto connection drops I reported. Additional to this shenanigans, Subaru says traction control button pretty much does nothing in 2018+ models, which helped them achieve their 5 star safety rating. so basically they toss a traction control button on there for nothing, because it will ALWAYS kick on. dumb as hell.. Anyways, they keep my car and I finally get a call Friday, but only to ask how my service went. I told them hmm, wild... I had no idea because I still dont have my car. Lady on phones gives me a hmmm and says she will figure out whats going on. I then get a call 15 minutes later from a tech and one minute later another service call asking how my service was, despite still not having my car. I picked up my car because I couldnt stand the poor technical services they offered. That day the car starts having power loss issues again, but since they dont have rentals, I couldnt take it back.. They should be more willing and able to troubleshoot issues, provide rentals, and be able to troubleshoot issues with what Ive reported and test drive it more than 15 miles for an issue. They could at least check plugs, the exhaust for any clogs, electrical issues, ECU upgrades etc, but I had to mention these suggestions to them, not the other way around. They also said the clutch housing has a lot of dust and the clutch engages higher than normal. I said okay and kept my mouth shut, because I know this new 2020 Subaru clutch is junk compared to the 2011 I previously owned. Sorry for the rant, but their service in summary is trash. I would find another dealership to go through.
I came in for a routine car inspection and didnt really expect much, except to be in & out in an hour. It turned out to be about 2 hours, which mightve upset me but my service advisor - Kassidy Goodson - was so outstanding that I didnt mind the wait at all. As soon as I pulled into the parking lot, she noticed I was in the wrong place and directed me to the right location. Then, without being approached, she returned to advise me on what I could do to expedite the process, and then took responsibility for the delay & gave me a discount. Again, I didnt expect much, and I certainly didnt expect to want to write a review for routine car service, but Kassidy went above & beyond and made an ordinary inspection extraordinary. Shes definitely 5 stars!!!!

Gotta give a shoutout to Zack in the service department. I was not an easy customer to deal with when my air conditioning failed right after I had my 2015 Crosstreks transmission replaced at Romano. Zack was very understanding of my frustration and was adamant about figuring out and fixing whatever was going on with my car. They gave me a loaner and dealt with my extended warranty company and the shop that had last worked on my air conditioning so I didnt have to.
