George Pierce is on our rotation for long walks. We combine paths from George Pierce with the Suwanee Greenway to get about 5 miles in. In George Pierce, the paths are mostly paved with some boardwalk over a swampy area with a small lake. Before it became so busy, we use to be able to see deer - now not so much. The paths have a lot of shade making this a nice destination in hot summer months.
We went for a kids T-ball game, nice, playground is under construction
George Pierce park is where the Suwanee Green Trail is located. Its a great walking trail that has a paved trail & one that isnt. The unpaved trail is mostly in the shade, which is better during the warmer months. The paved one is great for bicycles and strollers. Theres also a recreation center in this park. We saw wild raspberries and fill growing all over. A very nice place for anyone to visit!!
Huge park .. was there for 8th grade footbalk game .. nice facilities and plenty of parking
I do like this park, perfect for football, baseball, adn other fun sports. However, walking here with my friend was a little creepy, for it was woodsy and empty. Biking here was great tho, but very hilly. Not my favorite park, but if you pwefer more calm and not crowded environment this may be the ideal place to go.
I cycle along the path at least once a week. Really good bike and walking path in the park, shaded and pavedAlso some off road paths as well. They need to clean up more often as the path get lots of leaves and twigs along the path from the trees that provide shade.
Drove an hour and a half to play basketball with my friends who were already inside the court. Front desk ladies told me to wait because it was full, yet it was an open court. They told me to go play on the outside courts, but that doesn’t make sense because my friends are inside. Saw multiple people walk in, and even my friend who arrived later after I left out of frustration was able to get in. Completely ruined my day, as I was looking forward to cross up my friends, but the staff that didn’t seem to care got in the way of my fun.
Beautiful. Lovely paved walking trails. Nice elevateted bridges over the wet lands into more scenic areas with deer, hundreds of species of birds. Players as for kids and Free basketball, baseball, soccer and football field groomed and stripped. Party covered areas. Its so nice.
Fields and amenities were good its just takes 30 minutes to leave this park due to the red light at the entrance. Imagine a line of cars 200 plus long and the light only lets 10 cars go at a time. Very poorly planned. At least they could get a police officer to help alleviate the congestion.
Improvements at this park over the years have continued to keep up with the needs of multiple sports and leisure activities. The expansion of the trail systems to connect with others are also a fantastic development. Only draw back is the parking situation when there are so many teams, tournaments, etc all happening at the same time. Perhaps an expansion of grass parking areas with subgrid to keep it from becoming a muddy mess? While keeping green space and water permeability? All in all, however, an enjoyable park to visit.
Drove 30 minutes to see the basketball court closed. Asked why and they said one person tried to sneak in and so they shut down the entire gym for the rest of the day. Completely uncalled for and ruined the day for us. On top of that, the lady at the front desk seemed rude and didn’t want to help us.TL:DRGym was closed for the rest of the day because ONE person tried to sneak in. Seemed uncalled for and pretty dumb. Front lady wasn’t very helpful and rude.
I am really thankful to the city of Suwanee for building this park and the green way trail which are very well maintained. They are a big blessing to me and my family, thank you
The team of Ms. Debbie and her Manager Mrs Samantha were very professional they had made so many provisions on November 2020. we had a special celebration for our daughter after having her baby during Covid19 and the election. The quality of service along with the Covid19 specifications was wonderful. Everyone there was very helpful and the space was fabulous it has everything you need. I would go there for practically every event moving forward. Thank You very much George Pierce Park
Great place for soccer, however the walking/running trails are very nice. Couple scenic views of marsh.
Its a beautiful park. But our team took an out because 2 of our players werent their right away because of traffic on I-85 was backed up and the back road had all the traffic lights out! So the Umpire left and wouldnt wait for our players were stuck in traffic!
Beautiful and quiet park.Good for walking and running safely around the area.@JPdaReallest
Gorgeous and huge park full of nature. Long hiking trails and good sports facilities
Been coming here for years for the kids rec. ball. Beautiful park, well maintained and has fields and courts for every sport!
Great park! Wear big spray, though!
A wonderfully clean park with nice trails some trails have a lot of trees so bring a companion.
Wonderful place for a walk/ bike ride with the dog, family, friends and s/o. Especially when the weather is nice out.
Very very nice.huge. The trails...wow
Great walking trails and clean area. Easy parking as well.
Lots of shady trails to walk, kind of hilly, lots of Pokéstops and gyms, kept 5G through most of the trails.
They need better parking layout closer to fields & more / separate parking for officials.
What a great place for walking! Lots of paved and unpaved trails with plenty of interesting scenery.
Love this park and all the space available. Tons of parking and long walking trails.
It’s a wonderful park for bikes. I like how the roads are so nicely paved. Deers in the park are not afraid of people at all, so you get to observe them really close. But it is a little confusing to go in the first time and try to figure out where you should park in order to get to the trails of interest.
Be sure to keep an eye out for all the deer
The softball fields were very nice. I did not stop at the rest of the park. But as I drove by it seemed very nice I will most certainly come back and visit! P.S. Great for pokemon go!
Nice pathways throughout the park. Fields in good condition. Orange barriers throughout the park very unattractive to the park.
Beautiful trails. Very clean and peaceful
Great place to go on a bike ride or walk.
Nice fields for futbol. Dries well.
Nice park for a long walk. There are lots of side trails if youre adventurous and the main trails are well marked. You may see some wildlife and blooms along the way as a bonus.
20 years later, this park has developed to be a leading contender in the growth story of Gwinnett County. Almost there, Suwanees residential home value is set to sky rocket if the multiple trails can intersect successfully with this greenspace.
When we go there, there is so much to do. You can play basketball in the court on the outside and the inside court. There is also a trail to go walking. Very fun and cool. I love going there because its not as crowded as the other parks. Pretty peaceful.
Nice park for practice
A large park with several entrances to walking trails - some paved, some natural, some boardwalk. Plenty of marshy area with water and shorebirds, though on my latest visit, despite very heavy rains a couple of days prior, the water level was extremely low, plenty of oil slicks and algae resulting in a bit of a stench. Plenty of ducks, geese, herons and killdeer as well as plenty of songbirds.Sadly, the water by the viewing platform is littered with lures, fishing wire and all sorts of plastic debris. I wonder if this gorgeous-when-alive large specimen died from becoming entangled in the lines. It is the one thing I wish this park would monitor.
Great baseball softball, soccer and football fields. Well maintained. Paved walking trails throughout
There is a lot of bugs but the soccer field is nice.
Lovely trails. Connects to Suwanee Greenway. During COVID-19 times it was a beautiful escape from being harbored indoors.
The Greenway is 5 stars and more cities should follow their lead, I know they are working on plans to connect to other Greenway which is going to be game changing. The park itself needs some attention. The baseball fields are some of the worst in the county. Negative stars on their field management from soccer to baseball fields.
Great terrain for a good cardio walk.
Seems like a nice park for the most part; however, there is a lot of construction going on that takes away from the access and beauty of the park. Also, there is very little parking space.
Great trails, wildlife.
Once ball park. The surrounding facilities are also too notch.
Good and peaceful place to walk jog etc.
Clean, secluded, pretty nice place, especially with lockdowns. Good place to come and play soccer or football with friends.
Very well maintained. Great place to run trails and to play softball with the guys
Great venue for a soccer tournament!
Well marked walking trails and preteen playgrounds that are in good condition. Soccer and baseball fields as well as an educational center. There is handicapped parking and access. There are also picnic tables and a pond for fishing.
I love the atmosphere and cleanliness of this park.It has acres of land to hike, run and bring your family, friends and associates. The sports complex is superior.
Closed the gym for the entire day because someone tried to sneak in earlier in the day
Amazing park with shaded walking trails and shaded playground. the shaded kids playground to be a little difficult to find at first. Park at the first parking lot and walk down the path and keep to the right.
So many options to do. Perfect for a ride, run or walk!
This park is the beginning of a greenway parkway. The entire loop is 9.64 miles. Nice easy bike ride.
Great park with awesome walking trails, both hard and soft trails. Our dog loves walking around it and it links to the Suwanee trail which is awesome for walking or biking. Sure to spot deer, owls, hawks and maybe even a rattlesnake or two! Great location and easy to walk into Suwanee town Center for some refreshments after.
Loved it. Recamend
Beautiful park and facilities
Great soccer fields!👍🏽
Great family park for watching youth sports. Nice facility.
Really awesome trails and not as crowded as some parks. I really like this location.
Absolutely wonderful park! Very wild and really in touch with nature. I loved it! There is a very wide and lengthy bridge where one can walk right over the swamps! It is gorgeous. Quiet and well maintained, this park is great for riding your bike, walking or even meditating. Lots of animals, trees, grass, forest/jungle type of nature. Water everywhere.
Large park with several walking and biking trails as well as a community center, soccer fields, baseball fields, and tennis courts. The area is covered mainly in forest and marshes with boardwalks and bridges where needed. This park also has trails that connect with the Suwanee Greenway.
The trails here are great to walk on. They have beautiful scenery along the board walks and docks. If you need a nice walk without too many ups and downs this would be the place to go.
Nice well established park
Great place to walk with family and an incredible rec center
This park has many facets which make it useful for all ages. From T-ball fields to football and soccer fields, a lake and bike/walking trails to a Senior Center, this place is awesome! It has an indoor basketball court with an indoor walking track above it, and a few outdoor basketball courts as well.
Beautiful park!
Great place to to a nature hike, take your pooch with you!
Visited the Football side (which apparently doesnt connect to the rest of the park - 1 star) We got lost at first looking for the park. The football side has a completely different address!! So you cant just navigate to the park itself. Concessions were great, plenty of seating (although you might want to sit on the home side because that is the only side with shade). Place was clean. I saw several families walking trails. VERY family friendly even with younger ones :)
Voting was 10minutes or less.Loved it!
Huge park. Lots of different trails with plenty of space and amazing wild life views
Whats the point of a public park, if they keep the fields locked up?? Came to use the football field to practice->locked. Soccer field->locked Yet they boast about all the fields and space they have that no one can use.
Excellent park loaded with baseball fields, play areas, creeks and fishing ponds. This is a very large park so you can mountain bike for miles and miles and barely cover a fraction of it. There is also ample parking. This park is also a hidden gem because its nestled between some of the busiest major thoroughfares in Suwanee Georgia. Expect to see people fishing, biking, having a picnic, walking, and attending little league baseball games.
I love it so much i go and play softball there.
Abundant wildlife! Weve been walking here every evening for more than 10 yrs, never get tired of it.
