Less crowded in the morning. This allows most equipment to be available all the time. The pool and lockers are also open now.
*** SCAM ALERT ***A personal trainer calls you and attempts to set up a free personal training session. The session is a 25 minute sales pitch where they make you do some made up exercises. After the session, they try to sell you a year long personal training contract where they give you a set amount of personal training sessions per month. They use high pressure sales tactics also. For me they offered a contract where they would give me 4 25 minute sessions per month and offered two for free. They tried charging me $240 per month for these sessions. I kept saying that it was too expensive. I was able to get it down to $160 per month for 4 sessions per month + 2 free sessions. I felt like I couldnt walk away and that I was trapped. If I walked, then I thought he was going to chase me down. I wish I walked away, but regrettably I ended up signing. First red flag (after the sales pitch) was that they used up one of my sessions in order to do the body measurements. Body measurements take 5 minutes not 25. I couldn’t even get out of their contract when I moved to NY during the pandemic. In the original sales pitch the sales guy told me that I could get out of the contract if I moved. However when I tried to cancel, the fitness international (holding company) representative told me that I would have to continue my contract at LA Fitness. I ended up buying out my contract, where I paid for half of the sessions remaining. Came out to $640 for the buyout. I did this to save money. The 25 minute sessions won’t help you lose weight. I wish I never joined City Sports Club. I would never have gotten their sales pitch in the first place. I think I’ll just work out at home from now on. I’ll buy some weights and watch youtube fitness videos.
Love this gym!!! spacious, clean, friendly, and safe. I come here on a regular basis and always feel like home to me. Definitely must try it out!!
Best bang for your buck. Perfect for people who like different activities along with a workout area that is clean and spacious. My whole family comes here.
Personal training is a rip off ! They do not tell you anything before signing up. If you have to cancel you need to pay half of what is remaining for the year and you won’t get the classes for what you have paid. Lost my job and was trying to cost cut, I had to pay 700$ just cancel personal training. And you do not get any classes for that 700$. Plz beware! They do not tell you any of this while signing up. Total scam. And the 25 minute session is a joke. I have not lost an ounce of weight. Save yourself from this scam.
Called few times, got transfer to another person end up with hang up for 5 times. Another person came up to the phone and told me that to get service done need to be there physically, need more training guys way moreee training to know how to operate with your system! Also gave him all my member information and person was telling me that I’m not a member ))) haha so funny! Guess what, called another 24 branch and they helped me over the phone in less than 5 min 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻 you guys need to improve customer service for sure…
I feel like the place needs better air circulation. But lots of machines. Not too busy. All kinds of people.
Only reasonable option in town for Racquetball. As a gym, it is adequate. Parking lot is too crowded, but staff is nice
Very reasonably priced gym, love that they offer racquetball! Would be nice if there were spray bottles, towel stations all over, so folks can clean up (spray down) after they use a piece of equipment (critical during Covid times)...
Huge gym with great equipment. Would’ve given 5 stars if the staff was even a tad bit friendly!
Big parking lot, different kinds of work out machines employees are supportive 👏
The staff who sit in the booth are very rude. Especially the one who was there on July 17 in the Sunnyvale clubThe club is fine with lots of equipment
If you were going to the pool, please call them and make an appointment before you go. To keep the social distance, only the first and third lane among the three lanes are open. Also you can only book one day in advance.
Bad attendants at the phone just to say wich plans they have. Manager pay attention to how your workers treat customers at phone. Marketing worker doing a review to help you .
Google says I was here. I was not
Always clean and staff are very nice and very helpful
Not able to cancel my membership and get refunds on my membership which i happen to begin before covid, have spoken to numerous people but just get jumped between different people at different time, poorly managed & cheating customers
Hygienic & A Great place for work out 🏋️♀️
Disrespectful stuff they need better training
Checks temperature and gives a antiseptic spray bottle upon entry. Mostly I see young people (
Unreasonable fees, difficult to request a cancellation so that youd give up, poor communication regarding membership charges during the pandemic. Wont recommend.
Good, cheap place
Awesome, clean and friendly staff!
Joined this club a year ago and I love it!!It has transformed my life and energy level! This facility is very spacious and not crowded most of the time. The trainers are very good and I had the pleasure of training for last year with Peter who is very motivating and always positive!I really like the atmosphere where every one is doing their own thing with a common goal of becoming healthier and more fit!I also love the pool which has glass windows and is clean and not crowded. I also like the jacuzzi and sauna.Everyone who works here is super friendly and positive and they even opened a smoothie bar which has delicious protein shakes....This place has become a priority as part of my weekly routine and I highly recommend it!
Still Closed Its 9/26/2020 City Sports Please dont declare Bankruptcy We Love you And its Ok if u keep charging me Monthly Good LuckHealth is Wealth
They haven’t updated their google page. THEY ARE NOT OPEN!!!! I drove from Milpitas thinking they were open.
Very clean, spacious, professional support.
Good Service. Met with two managers on a new membership and they were great. Facility is clean and welcoming. Great place to get your sweat on.
This is a very good gym and has a lot of the amenities that you need when you got to the gym. Machines are well maintained and there is enough equipment to fulfill your workout needs. The monthly fee for this club is competitive with other clubs so I found no issues here. The only reason I have this club a 4 instead of a 5 is because they close at 8pm on Saturdays and Sundays. I sometimes like to go for a late workout on the weekends but that is not possible here. Other than this one issue, it is a great club and I have been very happy with it for the most part.
Great gym all around. Staffs were nice and professional. Organized and all of the machines were working well.
Signed for their personal training program its a trap. Basically they will let you sign an agreement of 1 year promising a whole lot of stuff, but ultimately not sticking to them.
Not sure what all the hate is for, but I really enjoy coming here. Ive never had any issues with the staff, in fact, they have all been incredibly nice and professional with me. Maybe the staff isnt the problem, if you have these problems everywhere you go... Sometimes the pool can be impossible to get in to, but you just have to learn what times are best and work around that. I prefer to go in to the mornings, so I really have any pick of the litter when it comes to equipment. Ive been member for many years now, and dont see any reason to leave!
I have 3 requirements for a gym: 1) Needs cardio/workout equipment (all gyms have this) 2)Needs a Sauna 3) Needs a pool. This gym has all 3 which is why I go here. I like to workout here for the reasons above, but also because it is clean. They have staff constantly cleaning the machines, and making sure it looks good which I highly appreciate. They also have numerous classes like Zumba, cycle, Body ab workout, and more all included with your membership. Parking is sometimes hard to find if you go during peak hours. I would say the gym is pretty dang good, except for the front reception staff. You probably will never get a smile from them or anything. Sometimes they just leave the check in machine there so they dont have to check you in & interact with you. No have a good workout or anything. So thats the only downside. If better staff was hired for the front desk it would be nice, but so far the gym itself is great. Id recommend it.
I like this gym! The locker room and restroom always seems clean. The gym itself is nice and large. There are a lot of options. Everything appears to be orderly (especially with free weights). The gym-goers all appear to be cordial. I found the salespeople to be easy to work with. I would strongly recommend this gym to all!
5 Star Facility 5 Star FacultyGeneral Manager Isaiah. Is a great Guy very friendly, helpful, and Professional I had some concerned about my member ship. After talking to him I left very happy and feeling like a valued member, not just another member. If youre looking for gym the cares about the customer come to City Sports Club. Thank You !
This place is clean, the offer towels, courteous staff and they have the best personal trainers!
Good morning hours on weekdays, but less awesome morning hours on weekends. Clean and new facility with almost all the right weights (no platform though, so you cant drop the bar).
No body enforces masks !!!!!! Terrible
Pretty good gym. Busy at normal times. After 5 is busy. Lately no one has been putting their weights back so if you need to use the machine ......Cleanly inside, swimming pool is nice and basketball court is awesome.
I give 5 star to all City Sorts Club because theyre good.
Be careful and thinking carefully before you sign up. I wish I read the reviews before I sign up. Unfortunately, it’s hard to cancel and they will be rude to you if you want to leave.
It’s a good gym with a few minor issues. If you want to do cardio they have a ton of machines for that. If you like to lift weights they have a good amount of bars/benches/dumbbells/ machinesPeople here DON’T re-rack their weights here. It’s annoyingAlso wished they opened earlier on weekends but no big dealBe warned this gym is close to tech companies like applied materials, apple, etc so after 5pm weekdays it’s packed. If you go during work hours it’s empty
City Sports Club in Sunnyvale is everything you could ask for when you’re looking for a reasonably priced and well-equipped gym. Also the branch manager Isaiah was always attentive and very helpful! Thanks for the overall great experience
Dont even go for their personal training program- its a trap. Basically they will let you sign an agreement of 1 year promising a whole lot of stuff, but ultimately not sticking to them. They cant retain their good trainers and management really sucks!!!!
Good gym with a lot of equipments. Nicely maintained as well.
The 5 day guest pass is not really for 5 days, they let you use it just for 2 days. If you have to use it on the 3 rd day, they say pay $15. Without letting you try for the entire 5 days, they want you to sign up. The staff there arent very friendly. The lady during at the front desk is always on her phone. But the facility is decent to work out.
My new gym and I am in love with it! Everything is nice and clean and theres plenty of space to get after it
Immaculate with a large, diverse array of top notch equipment. Management allowed complimentary access to military members from our unit while there on temporary assignment. Cant thank them enough!
The best part..they have racquet ball, swimming pool (3lanes), and, a fully functional gym. But, why you guys dont offer services 24*7!!!
Lots of space, lots of equipment. The place is pretty clean and well maintained. The only thing thats super weird is that the gym is about 90% carpeted. It doesnt stink, but I imagine it will eventually.
Although i have been a regular at this gym for over a year, i had never scheduled my free personal training session that comes with the membership. Now that i was moving to a different city, i had to cancel my gym membership. The trainers at the gym said they cannot provide the free fitness session since i was leaving.I should have taken the free personal training session and then told them that i was leaving. So much for being honest. This was not really professional of them. They should have honored the free personal training session irrespective of the fact.
A gym that’s gives a brightening vibe, pool is nice but usually had to share lanes.
Our local gym. I wish I could get my 13 year old onto the court, etc., but not a bad place at all. Kept clean, friendly faces - need more basketball leagues, but this spot serves its purpose.
Is the club reopened or still closed? Club hours updated yesterday and Google Maps tell its “open now” but when I call them the recorded message informs its closed due to COVID and no human person to speak with. At the website club is also closes. It’s very very confusing.
Gotta are Chris Kramer, the friendliest man who’s uber helpful. He is a no pressure professional who takes the time to show your the facility and educate on all the offerings
I do group exercise and they are open for classes.
They will make you jump through hoops to cancel your membership. Every time I tried to cancel in person the guy behind the desk would tell me “the only person with that authority just went to lunch” with a giant grin on his face (at 2pm in the afternoon). I asked him to please call me when he gets back from lunch and he told me “He doesn’t know how”. They gave me an email address to email and there was no response. Finally I had to send in a piece of paper by mail and they say they will still charge me for 2 more months. It’s 2019 - there should just be an option online to cancel
Facility is good. But it is crowded unless you go during work hours on weekdays. Instructors I saw are just so so... but will check out other instructors.
I start this gym couple months ago it’s not just this location you go to San Jose location they’re rude they try to kick people so fast I was the idiot To join city Sports clubgym but thank God I do month to month I did not sign up for one-year contract with them if I find a sauna or steam room some other gym I’m moving don’t sign up if you want to sign up just do month to month don’t try to save five dollar and get a one year contract Staff is very rude never smile never say have a nice day never say anything they act like they’re doing us a favor
The most awful sales-people ever. Visited gym to tour facility and was dealt with a person called Chris. If you do not sign up for a membership ASAP, they will force you to do a BMI test, an attempt at shaming you into signing a for a membership.I completely now regret walking into the facility at all. A lot of the positive reviews seem fake as well. I will likely avoid the place.
These people are difficult to part with. If you want to cancel your membership, you can only do so by mailing in a printed PDF form. No online form or other type of cancellation. I canceled on December 23 2018 and was shown (by their website) that will be able to use the club facilities till 2/16/2019. Thus, you will overpay for 1 months and 20 days.
Gym is spacious and usually not too crowded with decent kids club. Ive been a member for 2-3 years and consistently go to the 3 San Jose facilities and Sunnyvale facility. I have noticed diminishing returns at all 4 facilities.- There pools typically have 3 lanes which is small. They also teach kids to swim in one lane which makes the pool too crowded to do laps. I take issue with this because this gym for adults and should not be run as a YMCA or community rec. center- The area that has the jump up stations, kettle bells and trx stations now has a sign stating it off limits to everyone not receiving 1:1 training sessions. If they want to make this area off limits then they should open a separate area in the gym for general usage.- Kid club hours stop at noon and should be extended
They lock the doors 30 minutes before closing hrs. Staff and people do not put away their weights.Good selection of weights, machines, equipment and facilities.
Relatively new gym, so its clean and spacious. No issues with their array of cardio equipment, but they do a poor job of policing use of the weights. If you want to get in a good lifting session try off-peak hours.
Bad experience at this location, the personal training is cheating people to signThey will make you jump through hoops to cancel your membership. Every time I tried to cancel in person the guy behind the desk would tell me “the only person with that authority is not here
This gym has everything youll need to satisfy your fitness goals. Equipped with plenty of free weights, multiple bench and squat racks, tons of machines/treadmills/ellipticals/stair stepper/bikes/etc, a lap swimming pool, a suana attached to both locker rooms, separated private showers, basketball court, raquetball courts, spin room, and studio room.....what else could you need? The sales reps are all very helpful, the front desk is friendly, and the gym is kept clean. Theyre open most hours of the day to accommodate your schedule. They also offer personal training and include a free fitness examination when you join the gym. Although I didnt purchase personal training, the trainer was very thorough at analyzing my weak areas and assessing my fitness aspirations/goals.The price of membership is fair for how much this gym has to offer! Also, upon becoming a member, you can give someone you know a free 2 week pass to have unlimited access to the gym with or without you too! I offered mine to my girlfriend while she was home for winter break Upon her first visit, she was helped by Randy, whom she said was very friendly, gave her a tour of the gym and answered any questions she had.Highly recommend this gym! Feel free to ask for a tour if youre interested; theyre happy to help :)
(Member for over a year)I really wish zero stars was an option here.City Sports sales members bad mouthing other paying customers to potential new clients is horrible practice.I can promise you by keeping up these standards with your sales team you will continue to lose new customers. You have lost my business going forward. The Valley is small and paying customers are your best marketing contacts, by destroying these connections you are only hurting yourself.Best of luck City Sports, I suggest to other potential clients you look at alternate gym.For feedback to City Sports, I cant count the amount of times paper towels were out, the sinks arent working and the soap completly empty. These key details are what make paying customers stay loyal.-Chris
I paid to use the swimming pool! Stop Taking two out of three lanes for swimming school!!! The pool is already crowd enough!!! And when it’s not that crazy crowd they will for sure take two lanes for swimming class! ! Don’t consider this gym if you like to swim
I have been going to gyms since I was roughly 16. Im no expert in what a gym needs and what the people want but I do know what I look for in one. Especially long term.First off, the monthly and initiation rate are not bad compared to some of the places around here. I do know they have sales for sign ups and other rates during certain times of the month. Also, it is about $20 for a guest to join you who is not a member. One of the other big things I desire is good time. Time on which the gym opens and then closes. The hours are not tooooo bad. I would love it if it had more consistent times and better ones at that. If they changed their hours to open earlier and close later by at least an hour as well. The people can also be a big thing for everyone especially myself. It gets pretty crowded around 230pm to 830pm. Good luck finding time to workout if you go during those time slots. In the end, it has your basic gym stereotypes from the slug who hangs on the equipment for twenty minutes on their phones to the gym rats who you see their constantly. All in all, friendly bunch.Little side note, the employees do their best to constantly clean the place.I do recommend at least getting a walk through of this place and see what you think of it. Loads of equipment, big locker rooms, sauna & showers, basketball/squash courts, cycle room, big empty class hall, and a pool! Little something for everyone.
I love city sports! They offer workout classes, a pool, hot tub, jacuzzi, basketball, treadmill, weights, and lots more! Total work the 35$ month price to go to all locations here in San jose
I like there at beginning, but later. They just showed different face after I signed up.They don’t let me in when I having personal training because they can’t use my pass. They made me late for my training then I only got 10 minutes training.
This club is very much money minded and always on the look out to get more and more money. When I became a member, I was charged a membership registration fee of $99 and was told that this is one time fee. But now whenever I try to avail a new service of the club, they try to add $99 of registration fee. Also, there is a rule of providing one time complementary training which they never do unless members register for a personal trainer with $55 - $65 per session for at least 6-12 months. Here also they add up the $99 separate registration fees. If you guys really have a lot of money and dont know how or where to spend it, then please become a member of this club. Else, there is a fitness 24 right on the opposite side of road for better rates and good services.
Ok gym that offers a lot of options and for cheep compared to area gyms. But its very busy during normal hours and doesnt provide towels so its pretty dirty. The small pool is often being used for swim lessons. Personal training is offered but requires a 1 year commitment and they have a hard time keeping trainers so it can be difficult to get sessions at times that work for you.
I’ll put 0 star if I could. The staff there just looking for money. I have the day pass but they block me and not let me in . I miss the class after the long talk. And they want sign me up for something else.
Location is good but very irresponsible operations manager. I have been asking for a receipt of my gym membership and personal training for about 10 days, no response. Had similar experience in the past. Other staff and personal trainers are really nice though.
I forgot my Bose QC 35 noise cancellation headphones called front desk immediately and asked to store it with them . Next day when I came asking for them they started telling stories that headphones are in safe lock and need to check with manager. They stole the headphones and then started saying that someone took it. Manger said that their employees dont do that. Never take a membership with this club. Worst service and management.
I stopped by after work to go with a friend to try the gym (thinking of switching from UFC gym). The general manager insisted that I had to pay $15 day pass that can be applied towards a membership. Disgraceful customer service
The terrible front desk lady kept pushing me to pay for the day pass just because I was using a guest pass. I waited 40mins for them to activate my guest pass, but no staff seemed to care. The front desk lady claimed that all staffs were working with someone else, but I clearly saw two people were just sitting there with no clients. When I finally can’t wait and went towards a lat pull down machine, they came after me and asked me to leave. Wow what a coincidence!
One of the agent is very rude and arrogant. Terrible experience.
As basic gym its as any other but I dont recommend for personal training. Not enough trainers and training spots, most days have zero or 1/2 open spots. Difficult for working people. staff is inexperienced at handling customer experience issues. No willingness to resolve existing customer complaints and all efforts go to acquiring new members. Been a long time customer but they are making me cancel membership.
Worst worst worst customer experience ever in my life regardless what service I have ever got. When trying to activate my 14 day VIP guess pass shared by a friend who is already a member, I was only given 5days pass. The manager said this is due to how the system works to begin with. However, while I tried to argue, the manager THREATENED us with either take the 5 days offer or dont get anything. Is this how you treat your potential customers? We came in with the thought of getting enrolled the same day and they had returned us with such terrible experience. The manager even told us this is how gyms operates. Like I have never had a gym membership? The ones I used to be at managers would offer me complementary lessons if I am not satisfied with my trainer and would waive my membership dues for the rest of my first month, would do everything to keep the business. Never experience such thing like this. Felt like I was treated unfairly and discriminated. I would give zero star if available. Dont go there at all unless you want to be pisses every time having disagreement with them. Worst!
I had great experience with the staff here, especially Tien. He has great knowledge in what he’s doing and helped me complete my work out. I would recommend anyone to come here!
Great value for money. Nice spacious well lit gym, numerous machines for cardio and strength training, well heated pool, great jacuzzi and sauna - what more do you need?! :)
I wanted to try this gym out, but when I brought in a 7 day guest pass, I was told the sales staff doesn’t come in until 8am, and I couldn’t try out the gym before talking to them. I won’t be able to come in that late, and that kind of inflexibility leaves a sour taste in my mouth. The place looked nice and clean though, no gym funk smell.
This place has gotten more crowded over the last 6 months (maybe its the season). Mostly clean. Staff say hello more often than at 24 Hour Fitness, but thats about all they do. Restrooms are mostly clean. Theres trash sometimes in the sauna. Could use newer basketballs.
Please dont even carry your cell phone to this gym. No camera surveillance. No security to your valuables. My iphone and bag was stolen. Separate incidents. Laptop bag wad stolen which was locked in the changing room lockers. The crowd here is not elite. Otherwise the gym is good.
Before I am a member, they were trying to call me all the time. After I become a member, everytime I asked them about something, their attitude is never good.
If this is your last option then join if not steer clear. drove 30 mins away to check out their gym and when I walked in to activate my guest pass, isiah decides not to activate it because it was an inconvenience for him. Safe to say I wouldnt be be joining.
This gym is one of the best ones I’ve been to, with the great help of Tien I’ve accomplished my goal he’s a great trainer if you ever need a trainer I’d recommend him
The gym it self is fantastic. All of the free weight and machines look to be in perfect condition. Ive never had a problem with the front door staff, but I do feel the sales people are overly pushy. The trainer acted offended when I didnt want to purchase trainer sessions, but ever since she has been friendly to me.Only gripe that Ive got is, I have never been to the facility when the pool wasnt full, Id love a chance to swim but Ive been at varying hours through out the week // weekend and never saw a lane that was open, or didnt have a bunch of people waiting. This gym does get very busy after 430 pm, plan accordingly!I love coming here and I have been 5 to 6 days a week since February!I dont think you can find a better gym for the price, and month to month without contract can not be beat
Everything you need in a gym and more. Friendly staff and clean environment. Well worth the price of admission.
Finally, a great gym, good price and friendly staff. Plenty of equipment and usually not over crowded
LA fitness subsidiary. Basketball court is small and on the second floor. Weight room is legit and fully stocked and the swimming pool is great
The trainer Kenny was really kind and outgoing and made me feel comfortable with modified movements when I couldnt do some of the more advanced ones.
I am mainly giving review on their swimming pool.its pretty clean but as only 3 lanes are there, and after 5 pm, one lane is mostly occupied by private teachers, theres only two narrow lanes are left.in two lanes mostly 8 ppl are sharing.which is too much..monthly rate is reasonable, 30$/ month.
Customer service I would never wish for anyone. I am a member since 2015 and was trying to get some information adding member to my plan or take new plan for them I was not clear and was trying to double check by asking same question 2nd time to him regarding Add a Family Member or Friend for $0 Initiation! email I have got on my personal email. But the person answering my questions said if you ask me 100 times my answer would be same there is no offer. YOU HAVE TO PAY! Thanks for clarifying my doubts in a most polite way possible. I wish I find new gym soon so I cancel this asap.
A regular gym. Can get crowded at times.
I appriciate your there, It’s been joy of my routine. Nice, clean, spacious.. but Everytime when i got off from pool, it smells like pee drying on my entire body.Venigary.. pee smell. and.. little vomiting comming over few hours. Diarrhea.. (sorry). Anyone felt the same way? I think here pool is full of bacteria... like old as time pond, has full of bacteria, kill humans time to time.. can water change date be notified to public?.. or please do sth professionals!
