Not a member, but wish I was! My family comes to the Madison area multiple times a year for medical appointments and sometimes just a road trip. We see this place from the highway all the time and today we decided to stop. So glad we did! The water park is amazing and so great for little and big kids. They are well staffed with lifeguards and all areas are enclosed with fencing and safety seems to be top priority. My 10-year-old said it was one of the highlights of her summer. Can’t wait to visit again!

Its a great gym with a lot going on. Classes of every type, nice pools, and very involved in the community. My only complaint is that for the very, very high prices they charge the facility is very dated. There are sections that are nice and updated but other places like the lap pool looks straight out of an old high school. For their prices I expect a better quality facility, but I will hand it to them that their classes and variety are second to none.

It’s a well organized family gym, pool. Outdoor pool is awesome. Indoor pools, walking track, basketball court, soccer fields are very good. Safe and clean environment. Drinks & food are tasty & fresh. Friendly staff. Very good for summer jobs as well for teenagers. Quick enrollment & many membership options are available. Many changing rooms & showering facilities. Gym instructors are available. Many classes are conducted like yoga, hot yoga etc.

First time I had been to the PAC. Definitely has good food and lots of fun for little ones and adults!

It may own the square feet they claim, but 80% is unkept lawns, sticker bushes all over, but there is 2 pots before the main entrance. There is a parking lot the size for Lollapalooza 2021.I am pretty sure I have a disease bc I looked at the pool. The pics on this site are, well Im guessing, 38 years ago. I know the Water Park for sure out dates me and I am older than they have been in business. Keep in mind crowd sourced is other ppls opinions and no one other than vain ppl post reviews, or they are getting something, forced, or never been to a decent Health Club. I am not saying the 24 hr chains in strip malls are inferior in any way. If you read this far... This area has money. SOMEONE BUILD A HEALTH CLUB CLOSE, AT LEAST IN WI, BECAUSE THIS HAS SO MUCH POTENTIAL, IF UPDATED 40 YRS AGO AND NOT ADDED THE PARKING LOT WHICH MAKES UP 90% OF THE CLAIMED SQ FOOTAGE. ID EVEN GIVE THAT TO THIS REVIEW IF THE MASSIVE WASTED SPACE CLEANED AS A PARKING LOT THAT COULD BE AN ENTIRE CONCERT VENUE WAS EVEN A TENTH FULL... EVER.. THAT WAS MY MAIN CONCERN.. NO ONE IS HERE.. EVER. OKAY, ILL GIVE THEM AN ESTIMATED 15 SQ FT bc they have it had 1/4 the parking lot.blocked off for that sad area due to COVID-19. I wish we had something decent here.

We love the Prairie Athletic Club! Because of covid we hadnt been there in 14 months, and we were pleasantly surprised to see the renovations that have been done. Its a great place to work out, take classes, or meet friends for a meal or a drink.

Always enjoy the afternoon watching the kids have a great time in a safe environment.

I have been coming to the Prairie Athletic Club since 1998 and I must say its always been a big part of my childhood. I have seen a lot of change over the years all of them amazing! :) I highly recommend at least trying this place as a guest, chances are you know somebody with a membership here. The staff has always treated me kindly and if I have an issue I know I can trust them to resolve it.Lots of activities and leagues to join too. Its more then just a gym its a central part of the community spanning 40 years and constantly improving :)

Super clean, well maintained, food is extremely good and staff is all hands on deck all year round. Covid or no covid it’s always top notch.

Ive been going here with my family for about 5 years now. They are always growing and improving their programs and facilities. The staff has always been friendly and well trained, they treat you as if you are family. Prairie Athletic Club, is one of the biggest reasons we fell in love with Sun Prairie! Im thankful to be a part of such a great club.

Excellent selection of group classes, private coaching for personal fitness and an excellent group of massage therapists. I have used the pool in the winter and the outdoor summer pool. There are so many things to choose from. I have been a member for 5 years.

Great facility! We had our daughter’s 7 year’s birthday pool party at PAC. Such a great service they provided! Staff is very responsive, respectful and friendly. We ordered vegetarian food and everything was delicious :)Thanks PAC and all the employees! We are proud member of PAC!!!!!!

A very friendly club, where the owners are present and visible and the staff is friendly and many of the staff and all you by name.

Family-friendly with variety of programs from seniors to kids. Constantly improving facilities and programs. Phenomenal Hot Yoga studio, tremendous Triathlon Team, professional personal trainers. Clean, well-maintained equipment with plenty of space in a variety of nooks for every ability. Great refreshed menu at Lost Court and Bob and Vels coffee shop. Something for every age to encourage, continue or re-start an active lifestyle.

It has more equipment, classes, courts and pools than any other place. But its not user friendly if you have a disability. More steps than Ive ever seen at a gym. One small elevator way in the front. I tried Silver Sneakers yoga and was told the closest locker room was downstairs. And LOTS of stairs. The womens locker room for the lap pool is up an enormous flight of stairs! Basically, this facility is painfully awkward.

We are non-members, but decided to do our daughters 8th B-Day party there. We were able to change the typical party schedule and remove the gym time since these little girls truly wanted to spend most of their time swimming. The person we worked with to coordinate the party time/details was responsive. The only unfortunate thing is that they dont have an online party reservation system so you cant see whats available real-time. The party went well and the kids had fun, so I’d say it was a success. We would definitely do it again.

It does require a paid membership to attend. I believe daily guest passes are available. Ive been a member for 3 weeks so Im not sure about the entire operation yet. The walking track is great when the weather isnt so good. Ive also gotten a lot of use out of the warm water pool.

Been a member for a number of years and they try to make it better each year. Dolphins Cove is great for my son and daycare is wonderful. I have never had a problem doing/using anything I wanted, I just planned ahead.

This facility offers so much in terms of equipment and activities, but fails to rise to 5 star status simply because there are so many small areas in disrepair. Where it has the capability to really be a one size fits all, top notch facility, it hovers just above good. That being said, the staff are friendly and helpful, it offers a lot of varied activities, and it has a great coffee shop and grill.

I have been a member at PAC since 1996. If you are looking for a top notch, up to date work out facility, this is the place. PAC is constantly updating the facility, equipment, and group work outs. I also travel a lot and have frequented other gyms and the basic cost for a one time work out is $10.00. $5.00 to use the pool is fairly reasonable.

Love it! The pools are awesome. The staff is accommodating. The building is kept clean with safety in mind. We love going as a family with plenty that kids can be involved in.

Locally owned athletic club. Newly remodeled. One of the largest athletic clubs in WI. You name it they have it. Indoor soccer, volleyball, basketball, etc. The food is pretty good too.

Love Friday Volleyball! I am not even a member of this gym, but Prairie Athletic opens up their sand volleyball courts on Fridays to the general public. With a full bar right at the courts, this is a great way to spend a Friday evening playing competitive volleyball!

Absolutely an amazing gym. They have all of the equipment that you could ask for, including 12 basketball hoops, racquetball courts, 3 gym areas, crossfit (Not a fan but hey, its there!), a punching bag, soccer field, a pool and more! I have a discounted membership that my family had a few years ago so we have a set price for the membership so its pretty cheap but its a very quality gym with a nice atmosphere and nice people. Highly recommend it!

Hot Yoga is so great there. All the instructors are all so nice and actually care about your health and wellness. The facility is modern and clean. Lots of parking. Great place to go for the yogis.

Staff is friendly and I can see having a family plan and using the pool area, basketball, soccer, etc if you have small children.Otherwise I hope you enjoy battling over equipment and dealing with kids running around unsupervised. Just getting in the parking lot can be a chore. I have flat out stopped going during busy hours because it just isnt worth the hassel. I live to close to go anywhere else or I would without hesitating.

Best workout environment Ive ever experienced. Great community to be around and I love the coffee shop Bob and Vels within the gym. Always a friendly crew working and great people.

I go here a lot, and it has a large variety of options of things to do including, soccer, basketball, volleyball, badminton, racquetball, track, swimming, a variety of workout equipment, and more. There is also a restaurant within the Prairie Athletic Club that serves great food and is a great place to hang out and maybe watch some sports on the TV. The Prairie Athletic Club is also a great place to hangout with friends and the staff is very nice.

Awesome birthday party venue!!!! The staff was super helpful, the kids had a great time and honestly the easiest party ever to plan. Seriously, I showed up with a cake and they did everything else! It was a great experience!!!

Been a member going on 3 years. Great place for families with plenty of activities for all age groups. The thing that stands out to me is that on weekends you see the owners involved in the club whether it is working with the clinics, picking up weights, or even moving snow all night. The staff is very accomodating. Great facilities. I travel quite a bit and visit many gyms/clubs. I have never seen a club yet that gives you as much value for your membership like the PAC.

There is a great selection of services available here... but for a price. The PAC makes you pay extra for everything!! I am not planning on renewing my membership because so many of a the extra things that make it seemingly worth the expensive price actually cost MORE to do.

Fantastic facility with everything you need to workout. The indoor pools are great for families, and you can have dinner delivered pool-side!

Poor costumer service. Finally transferred membership to still be charged for it 3 days later even though I was told that it would not happen. When I called the manager stated Im sorry but there is nothing I can do about it. With the rates that PAC charges you would think they could train their management on good costumer service...

Me and my family love the PAC, I have had a membership ever since I was little. I feel like every time I go their it is the same old same old I wish they would add something new and improved, or add on more to something, like the daycare.

A great place for workout. Great club with many sports and more of a recreational place with lot of space. Enjoy playing Racquetball leagues and friendly staff.

The gym is great the equipment is rather well maintained and the staff is nice! Very expensive as a downside but where else is there to go aside from Madison?🤷🏾‍♀️

My wife and I had a very poor experience with the party planning for our 8 year olds birthday party. Overall lack of communication, lack of organization and they even forgot the gift bags for our guests. We tried following up several times with emails and never received a response. I would not book or recommend the party planning again.

Worst gym -Only one volleyball court always either tournaments or rented out.Only one badminton court, surrounded by Basket ball courts.Very expensive.Very old equipment (for example, they have only two volleyballs even though good volleyball costs only 30 bucks and they have Antique badminton birds).

The Prairie Athletic Club holds many after school clubs and events, but is also a great place to work out and play your favorite sports.

They have it all. Cardio heavy weights and a great staff. Highly recommend it.

COLD swimming pools - the heated kids pool is freezing and the heated family pool is barely warm! Tons of chlorine in the pools - bleached my black bathing suit to a stripped ugly gray - yet the water feels slimy at times and there is a very strong ammonia smell. Locker rooms need to be improved; need shelves, hooks, rubber floor mats instead of carpet and better shower handles. Kids gym is falling apart, the equipment is ripped/dirty! The new addition is beautiful and well done, but the older buildings of the gym are in desperate need of repair and updating. What keeps me coming back is how friendly the staff have been, the kid activities and diversity. Having said that, the gym really needs a few improvements to keep me after my contract expires. I hope they will improve it.

You have to pay extra for everything. I grew up being a member with my parents for 15 years. Then moved away to college, came back 2 years later and I was forced to get my own expensive membership. My parents were always on the cheapest plan possible but I was able to use the adult pool for free even after dolfins cove was built. Now my emerald package (cheapest available now but still expensive as hell) doesnt cover the basic outdoor adult pool. They wanted to charge me $5 to use just the adult pool. Which by the the aquatic center is $4 for everything. I was pissed the they now charge extra for the basic little adult pool outside when that never used to cost anything extra. They also charge to walk the track at my package level. Crooks! The only reason why I tolerate it is because I lift free weights a lot and the Y doesnt have what the pac has. Although the stupid excel courses are taking a lot of the free weights and equipment which is beyond annoying. The pac is rich, but more equipment, more curl bars more clips, more flat benches and stop making things exclusive to the excel classes. They must have 50-100 medicine balls while the rest of the club has maybe 5. They took does the hanging ab straps months ago. I asked when they would be getting more to replace them. The owner said a few weeks, but its been months and Im still waiting. Again the pac is rich, drive to dicks and buy them for $40 to replace the ones you took down ages ago. Oh and the parking lot is the Dumbiest layout ever. Soon they will start to charge for parking. Unless you are hardcore in free weights and body building go to the Y. Save money
