I brought my Subaru in because I had multiple check engine lights on, which ended up requiring a software patch to fix. They were awesome in fitting me in, diagnosing the problem and quickly fixing it. The estimate for cost of work was clearly presented and came in slightly under. A couple of days after the fix, Gordon, the owner, called me to see if everything was still good. Ive never had follow-up like that by any other auto shop. I feel received good value for money.
Hilltop Auto Repair is top notch. Professionalism at its finest. When I brought my vehicle in for issues the dealer couldnt diagnose, they found out immediately. Not only was the service a 10, several of the repairs the dealer said I needed didnt need to be done at all. I was quoted a reasonable price before any service had begun and that was what I paid. No price gouging. I would highly recommend Hill Top Auto.
My car has been serviced by Hilltop Auto Repairs for many years. The quality of the repair and reliability of the service has been exceptional. I have known Gordon for decades and he is honorable, straightforward and dependable. The negative comments recently posted do not reflect the Gordon I have known and respect. Tony Hochner.
Ive heard HORRIBLE things about this establishment!! He costs so much you cant even go there if you dont drive a $70000 vehicle.Get this: his hourly rate work is his address!! Come on buddy; what if you were at 25 Morris Avenue?! Would we be afforded the same luxury, would you charge us $25 per hour?If you dont make six figures - dont even consider them, because youll be sick!! I this its snobbish, and inconsiderate to the ppl of Summit - a blight on our community!!Sincerely,Offended
Very friendly staff, but an incredible ripoff. Gordon tried to explain to me how an oil change and tire rotation is valued at over $500. Just incredible that this range would not be quoted to a new walk-in customer. Suggest you think twice. Beware and see invoice attached:
I recently moved to Summit but even before I moved, I knew I was going to come to Hilltop. I would go out of my way to drive by and see what was on the lifts, original 911s, old school Jaguars, and the place is immaculate. It is the kind of shop I would dream up in my head and I personally wont take my car anywhere else. I read the review before mine about the expensive price/invoice and can understand their frustration but to say theyre a ripoff is unfair. These guys are the best of the best and I want to keep my car in tip top shape forever, literally forever. So of course there will always be cheaper options out there but you need to make a personal decision about how much you care about your car. Expensive/inexpensive is all relative to the quality/value you are deriving from the product and I have a partner in Hilltop who treats my car like their own, and to me, that is priceless.
I called the shop at 615am. Even though they werent going to open for business until 8am, Rob still provided service to fix the flat tire on my 2015 Audi Q7. He made me feel like a valued customer. I will happily return to provide more business. Thanks again Rob, youre a good man! Ill recommend Hilltop to everyone.
Top notch experience. The owner is a man of high integrity which is rare to come by in this industry. He offers fair pricing, excellent workmanship, tells it like it is, and is working out of his lifelong dream built-from-the-ground-up state of the art repair center.
Quoted me $50 to plug a tire. I wouldn’t trust them. I got the same service done at brooks friendly services for $14. Go to brooks friendly services because these people can’t even be trusted with simple repairs as plugging in a tire. Absolutely ridiculous!!
I recently moved to Summit and found myself in need of an auto repair shop. I decided to call Hilltop Auto Repairs since its conveniently located for me. I’m so glad I did. The owner, Gordon, operates his business with a level of integrity and honesty not frequently seen at most auto repair shop - or many other business for that matter. Gordon is upfront about all the work needed and theres no upselling of unnecessary services. The physical shop itself is reason alone to visit. I have never seen such a modern, clean, and well organized repair shop. The location is truly stunning and I was thrilled to get a behind-the-scenes tour of all the high tech equipment. Ray Catena wouldnt build a shop this nice! Its clear these guys take pride in everything they do.
They charge me almost $500 to replace my spark plugs...
About two weeks ago I ran over something on the highway. I knew immediately that I messed up at least my exhaust. I was able to drive the car home though. When I got there, I gave hilltop a call to see if they could at least put it on a lift and give me a clue as to how badly the car was damaged. The owner, Gordon, told me to bring it on over and the car was on a lift within 10 minutes. The shop was clean and the workers, as well as Gordon, were very polite and professional. After surveying the damage, he gave me the bad news. But thats where it ended. He completely took over and handled the whole ordeal. He also was kind enough to give me a ride home so I didnt have to walk, call a cab or wait an hour for a ride. Further, Gordon wholly dealt with my insurance company, who eventually totaled the vehicle. He was then kind enough to hold the car an extra day or two until I get back to clean it out of my stuff. All in all it was an absolute professional and pleasurable experience that came out of an unfortunate incident. Accordingly I cannot recommend enough going to Hilltop and Gordon for any of your automotive issues if youre in the Summit area.
Gordon at Hilltop is probably the most honest, and fair mechanic you will come across. Highly recommend.

Very rude, Couldn’t give quote on phone, which is understandable but when I asked if they could get my brake pads install he responded “absolutely not, good bye...” really!?
