DO NOT BUY CARPET FROM HOME DEPOT! The price was fine but the installation is a joke. I took off work to be at home for the install. They called me around 9am the morning of the install to cancel because it might rainThe installers came the following day. After they finished I was asked to inspect the carpet in my bonus room. I expressed concern about the seam and how it seemed to be to more visible than it should be. The installer rubbed his hand across it to disquise it and said its just because its new and it will work its way out. I have never had carpet installed so I believed him. After some time the seem only got worse. I called the installers and ask if they could come by and look at it and see if there was something they could do. In their defense they called me the next day and ask if they could come by that day. I wasnt able to be home at that time. I asked if we could schedule for one day the following week. I have not heard from them since. Everyone that comes in my bonus room mentions the carpet and ask who done it. It looks awful.
Okay, another sad story....after telling the person in the floor department we lived in a mobile home and Sears would not install tile in a mobile home....we paid 35 dollars for someone to come out and measure for tile in our home, for Home Depot to call back and say they cannot quote for installing tile in a mobile home????? why lie....are they that desperate for a 35 dollar fee?Must be bad times for Home Depot. Was told we could go back to Home Depot in Summerville and get our money back...what was the point of the whole episode? I guess our gas money back and forth dont count. We had a similar dont care attitude with Lowes in Summerville and deck stain.......Long Live ACE Hardware!!!!!!! Local is always best. Live and Learn, and learn again.
Tried to purchase carpet at the Summerville store.. First we paid for someone to come out and measure. Then, after the measuring, we went to the store at about 6 pm to pick out the carpet. Big mistake. After spending about 1.5 hours at the store we went home tired, but feeling that we were on our way to getting the carpeting installed. After we arrived home we got a call from the person who actually worked in the carpeting department telling us that the carpet we selected would take one month to get from their warehouse to the store. We are stunned, as we picked out carpet which would not have to be special ordered. We told each of the people who assisted us that we needed a fairly quick install. (we have to have it installed in the next three weeks)Now we will go to another store that actually knows what it is doing. The problem at Home Depot was that the only person who worked in the carpeting department was at lunch and everyone else was so poorly trained that they had no idea what they were doing. This is a total failure of management. The people at the store tried to help, and were friendly. They just didnt know anything about carpeting. Dont waste your time, go somewhere else.... Anywhere but here.
Worst store! Cant ever find an answer to your questions, and it takes FOREVER to get a call back from the installer for blinds!
Took weeks to have someone measure for fence, called Home Depot. Finally contractor showed up, never saw or heard from him again. Sent email Twice, no response. Won’t ever use them for anything.
